CARLISLE -- Clebert Back, 78, of 477 Park Drive, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on June 9, 1921, in Ruesaw, Ky., the son of Floyd and Sedelia (Hounshell) Back. Mr. Back was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years as an inspector, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna in 1997; a son, Russ, in 1991; and grandchildren Timmy and Tommy Georgia in 1967. He is survived by his son, Charles Back, and his wife, Linda, of Miamisburg; a daughter, Barbara Leino, and husband, Dave, of Carlisle; a brother, Elbert Back of Rockford, Ill.; a sister, Saralhen Hampton of Virginia; grandchildren Kevin Georgia, and his wife, Tammy, John Georgia, and wife, Tracy, Christine Weaver, Rusty Back, and wife, Jackie, Becky Vest, and husband, Craig, Greg Back, and wife, Missy, Belinda Horton, and her husband, Sam, Steve Back, Andy Brate, Judy Campbell, and husband, Darris, and Von Back, and wife, Christy; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
ARRANGEMENTS: Interment will be at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family.

Shirley R. Baker
Mrs. Shirley R. Baker, 72, of Middletown, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born on Dec. 15, 1927, in Middletown, the daughter of Sidney Slye and Eunice (Channel) Slye. Mrs. Baker taught in the Middletown School System for 21 years as a second-grade teacher at Creekview Elementary School. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Baker; a daughter, Beverly (husband James) Cramer of Middletown; a son, Jon Robert Baker of Middletown; a grandson, Nicolas Cramer; a sister, Leslie Buehl of Springfield, Ohio; a niece, Bonnie Eaton; and a nephew, Richard Buehl.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas B. Mellott officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Ronald C. Black
FRANKLIN -- Ronald Charles Black, 38, of 5782 Russell Ave., passed away Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital after being stricken ill at home. He was born in Butler County on Nov. 10, 1961, the son of Hiram and Beth (McDaniel) Black. He was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge 55 Free & Accepted Masons and the Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Black was a 1980 Franklin High School graduate and a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his parents, Hiram and Beth Black of Franklin; his wife, Laura (South) Black; sons Michael and Matt Black, of Franklin; grandmother LaRue Thomason of Carlisle; a brother, Michael S. Black of Franklin; a sister, Michelle Winters; and a host of friends and relatives.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Revs. Roy Young, Joe Young and Scott Young officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.

James Buckner
James Buckner, 65, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2000, at the Middletown Regional Hospital emergency room. He was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Mount Vernon, Tenn., and had lived in Middletown since 1951. He was employed at McGraw Construction Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna (Ervin) Buckner. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marilyn S. Buckner; two brothers, R.C. Buckner and wife Diane of Middletown and Calvin Buckner and wife Roberta of Englewood, Tenn.; one sister, Stella Wagers and husband Loyal of Middletown; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., with the Rev. Thomas Mellott officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Goldie M. Corrill
Mrs. Goldie M. Corrill, 85, of Miami, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at South Miami Hospital where she was a patient for two days. She had wintered in Miami for several years and had lived there since Jan. 15, 2000. She was born on Oct. 13, 1914, in Middletown, Ohio. Goldie attended the University of Cincinnati School of Nursing where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees. She retired from the Army as a captain in 1948 after having served in Europe for four years during World War II . She was active in the American Red Cross and in veterans affairs for many years. Mrs. Corrill was a longtime resident of Cincinnati, from 1937 to 2000. She, and her husband, Dr. Edgar M. Corrill, a longtime Cincinnati physician, resided on Orchard Lane in Pleasant Ridge, Cincinnati. She was employed as a nurse and hospital administrator for Cincinnati General Hospital. She then worked in private medical practice with her husband. Mrs. Corrill was a founding contributor for the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. She was also very devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin V. and Ida Frances (Coldiron) Morrison; her husband, Dr. Edgar M. Corrill, in 1990; three brothers, Clyde, Reese and Emerson Morrison; and two sisters, Blanche Morrison and Flora Daniel. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, including her niece Kimberly de Acha, and her husband, Rafael, with whom she resided in Miami, Fla.; and a sister, Birdie Cheesman of Middletown.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 10209 Plainfield Road, Evendale, Ohio. Services will be conducted by family members, and military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Evendale.

Dale Deardoff
Dale Deardoff, 68, of 2453 W. Ohio 122, Red Lion, Ohio, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton. He was born on May 4, 1932, in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Raymond and Sarah (Bussard) Deardoff. He graduated from Springboro High School in 1950 and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Mr. Deardoff was a member of the Russell McElfresh American Legion Post 149 in Franklin and was a farmer in the Springboro area for 44 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, in 1996, and his mother, Sarah, in 1965. Surviving are a son, Douglas D. Deardoff of Tampa, Fla.; three daughters, Debra L. Teeters of Beavercreek, Beverly A. Tyra of Springboro and Jill R. Mattson of Middletown; a sister, Hattie Jane Pursley of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Jason and Kellie Mockabee, Michael and Bradley Tyra, Chelsea Mattson, and Samuel and Joseph Deardoff; one great-grandson, Jacob Mockabee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray Fugate
FRANKLIN -- Ray Fugate, 55, of 44 Hemlock St., Apt. A., passed away Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Franklin Ridge Nursing Home. He was born on Oct. 24, 1944, in Perry County, Ky., the son of Elliott and Armine (Raleigh) Fugate. Mr. Fugate was employed by Siebenthalers as a nursery man for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mina Fugate and Edna Bush. He is survived by his wife, Collette (Abner) Fugate; a son, Elliott Ray Fugate of Franklin; a daughter, Christine Fugate of Franklin; stepsons Paul W. Abner of Tampa, Ray G. Voyles of Franklin and Michael Voyles of Middletown; a stepdaughter, Jody Brown of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Arnold Fugate of Franklin and Jimmy Fugate of Carlisle; two sisters, Alpha Herald and Martha Bush, both of Franklin; and two step-grandchildren.

Charles E. Hatton
FRANKLIN -- Charles E. Hatton, 70, of 608 E. Fourth St., passed away Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Kettering Hospital. He was born on Jan. 24, 1930, in Wolfe County, Ky., the son of Troy and Mattie Hatton. Mr. Hatton was employed as a machinist at NCR and also worked in the maintenance department at the Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Home. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Anna; two daughters, Paula Miller and Brenda Smith, both of Franklin; two sisters, Christine Strobbe of Middletown and Billy Joe Damron of Hillsboro; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Daniel Havens
Daniel "Danny Ray" Havens, 41, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2000 in Middletown. He was born in Cincinnati on Nov. 30, 1958, to Hubert and Freda (Ingram) Havens. Mr. Havens had lived in the Middletown area for most of his life. He was a construction worker. He was preceded in death by his natural parents, Hubert and Freda (Ingram) Havens, and his father, Clay Richards. Survivors include his mother, Golda Richards of Middletown; three brothers, Roger Havens and his wife Brenda, Dan Richards and his wife Barbara, and Charles Richards and his wife Joyce, of Middletown; two sisters, Regina Webb of Mount Sterling, Ky., and Delores Huggins, and her husband Ken of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, with the Rev. Don Dohm officiating. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Charles K. Henry
Charles K. "Ken" Henry, 65, of Franklin, formerly of Blanchester, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at his residence. He was born in Blanchester, Ohio, on March 26, 1935, the son of Lewis Harold Henry and Grace Gertrude (Brown) Henry. Mr. Henry was a retired United States Air Force technical sergeant, a Vietnam veteran, a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association, Teamsters Local 100, and a retired corrections officer from the Lebanon Correctional Institution near Monroe, Ohio, after 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Annie, of Blanchester; three sons, Richard "Ricky" of Blanchester, Scott of Fayetteville, Ohio, and Patrick "P.J." Henry of Blanchester; two daughters, Michele of Blanchester and Barbara Welshhanas of Springboro; a brother, Harold Lewis Henry of Allensburg, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services were concluded on Saturday, June 3, 2000, at the Clinton Memory Garden in Wilmington, Ohio, with full military honors provided by Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. The Davis Turner Funeral Home, 400 Lynchburg, Ohio, served the family.

Jerry Hogan
Jerry Hogan, 39, of Middletown, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. The Middletown native and lifelong resident was born here on July 15, 1960. Mr. Hogan was employed as a truck driver for Excel Transportation located at Franklin Boxboard. He had worked there for more than ten years. Among his survivors are his wife of 21 years, Janet (Lowman) Hogan; two sons, Paul Kent Hogan and Chris Hogan; two brothers, Jim and Jeff Hogan; a sister, Jodi Smith; his parents, father, James and Glynda Hogan; mother, Deloris, and Richard Caskey; maternal grandmother, Cona Blair, and step-grandfather, Wilmer.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Green will officiate. Interment will be at Germantown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Susan Holman
Mrs. Susan Holman, 88, of Middletown, passed away Monday, May 22, 2000, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. She was born in Lerose, Ky., on June 16, 1911, to Zack Moore and Mollie (Estepp) Moore. Mrs. Holman was a member of the Yankee Road Church of God and participated in their Quilting Circle. She was also a member of the Monroe Grange. She leaves a daughter, Linda (Don) Whisman of Middletown; three sons, Tim Holman of Middletown, David (Charlotte) Holman of Oregonia, Ohio, and Joe (Tina) Holman of Middletown; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Holman was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, in 1970; her parents; two brothers, William and Edgar Moore; and three sisters, Pearl Allen, Eva Osborn and Mary Quayat.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mac McConnell officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Paul E. Hudson
Paul Eugene Hudson, 80, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. A Middletown native, he was born here on May 19, 1920, and was a lifelong resident of this area. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Hudson was formerly employed as a millwright. He worked at Jefferson Smurfit Corp. for 45 years before retiring in 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Carrie Hudson; and two brothers, Leroy and Norman Hudson. Surviving are four sons, Daniel Hudson, and his wife, Pam, of Franklin, Timothy Hudson of Middletown, Thomas Hudson, and his wife, Christine, of Wisconsin, and Nick Hudson, and his wife, Valorie, of Middletown; and 10 grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today, May 27, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with Claude Robold officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. today prior to the service.

Dinah L. Love
Mrs. Dinah L. Love, 46, of 2142 Renee Drive, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Middletown, the daughter of Warren and Mary Miller McFarland. Mrs. Love and her husband have served as foster parents since 1980. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Rodney D. Love; a son, Richard, at home; her mother, Mary McFarland of Middletown; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Vondia McFarland of Middletown and Danny and Carol Howard of Tytusville, Fla. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren McFarland.

James R. Mason
James R. Mason, 51, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at his Middletown residence. He was born March 6, 1949, in Middletown. He worked as a paper press operator at Boxboard Packaging for 17 years and as a self-employed photographer. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Mason, in 1993. He is survived by two sons, James R. Mason II of Middletown and Tony L. Mason of Eaton; grandchild, Tony James Mason of West Chester; mother, Sarah Opal (Banks) Mason; brother, Jerry Mason and his wife, Jennifer, of Miamisburg; sister, Rebecca Mason of Middletown; and a niece and nephew.

Ronald F. McDonell
TRENTON -- Ronald F. McDonell, 67, of Trenton, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at his residence. He was born on May 25, 1932, in Murdo, S.D., the son of Clyde M. and Iva (Sass) McDonell. Mr. McDonell was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Trenton. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. Mr. McDonell was very active in the Trenton community. He participated in the Trenton J.C.'s, was a Boy Scout leader, served on the parish council and was active with the Edgewood Schools. He worked for Armco/AK Steel Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1993. He later worked for IBM Global Systems, retiring in 1998. He was a graduate of the South Dakota School of Mining and Technology in 1954. Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Trenton; five sons, Michael (Carol) McDonell of Macomb, Mich., Kevin (Stephanie) McDonell of Trenton, Sean McDonell of Charleston, S.C., Patrick (Tara) McDonell of Fairfield and Brian (Christa) McDonell of Middletown; four daughters, Karen (George) Rolfe and Kathy McDonell, both of Dayton, Colleen (Brad) Johansen of Mason, Ohio, and Mary Ann McDonell of Dayton, and her fianc鬠Dan Harner; two sisters, Irene Kurtenbach of Brookings, S.D., and Norma Fisher of Nevada; and grandchildren Jordan, Connor, Hannah, Megan, Liam, Olivia, Zachary, Noah, Graeme and Alex. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Iva McDonell.

Ruby J. McKee
Ruby J. McKee, 93, of Garden Manor Retirement Village, Middletown, passed away Sunday at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was a longtime resident of Middletown and had resided at Garden Manor for 10 years. She was born May 24, 1907 in Kentucky. She was a member of the Community Chapel on Illinois Avenue in Middletown. Survivors include a nephew, Kenneth Christian of Florida; three nieces, Harriet Baker, Dorothy Carter and Rhonda Wagoner, and her husband, Roy, of Middletown; three great nieces; and three great nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Armel Taulbee officiating. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin.

Frederick Miller, M.D.
Dr. Frederick Miller, 93, of Monroe, Ohio, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born in Louisville, Ky., on June 5, 1906, the son of Frederick George Miller and Louise C. (Heins) Miller. Dr. Frederick Miller was a general surgeon in private practice in Dayton, Ohio, from 1935 until his retirement in 1976. During World War II, he was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army. He was also a Rotarian, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, past president of the Montgomery County Medical Society and had been an associate clinical professor at Wright State University. He leaves a son, Fred H. Miller of Norman, Okla.; two daughters, Jane Brindle Miller of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Virginia Jansen of Monte Sereno, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Phyllis Smith of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian B. Miller; his parents; and two sisters.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Charles Morningstar II
POASTTOWN -- Charles D. "Star" Morningstar II, 79, of Poasttown, passed away Friday, May 26, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1921, to the late Charles D. and Pearl (Stamm) Morningstar I. He retired from General Motors-Frigidaire Division in 1978 after 30 years of service and was a member of the Tytus Avenue First Church of God. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Marjorie Cromwell, Lucille Agnor and Mabel Wood, and his brother, Bill "Ralph" Morningstar. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jenettie (Arrowood) Morningstar; his daughter, Kathryn (Robert) Williford; two sons, Charles D. (Brenda Lee) Morningstar III and Timothy (Deloris) Morningstar, all of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dalton Funeral Home, corner of Ohio 4 and Weaver Road, Germantown. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Greg A. Wallace officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Poasttown.

Essie Ollis
SOMERVILLE -- Essie Ollis, 92, of Somerville, passed away Friday at Garden Manor Nursing Home in Middletown. Mrs. Ollis was born July 25, 1907, in North Cove, N.C., the daughter of the late Sam and Lura (Denny) McGee. She married Kelsey Ollis in Shell Creek, Tenn. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dave, Sam and Bud McGee; and three sisters, Eva Barlow, Bessie Ollis and Beatrice McGee. Surviving are her two sons, Kenny (Mamie) Ollis of Somerville, and Bill Ollis of Jonas Ridge, N.C.; one daughter, Doris Ann Ollis of Jacksonburg; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation for Essie Ollis was Tuesday at the R.C. Nein & Sons--Thompson Funeral Home, 249 N. Main St. Camden. Funeral services were held following the visitation with Kenny Mills officiating. Burial was at the Somerville Cemetery.

Scott W. Petry
Scott W. Petry, 29, of Middletown, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at his residence. He was born Dec. 19, 1970, in Middletown, the son of Gerald L. Petry and Shirley L. (Tipton) Conn. He graduated from Madison High School, was a welder and worked for the Spartan Supply Co. Mr. Petry is survived by his father, Gerald L. Petry of Middletown; mother, Shirley Conn of Middletown; a sister, Vicki Moreland of Middletown; twin brother, Todd (wife Carla) Petry of Lewisburg; brothers, John Petry of Middletown and Jerry Lee (wife Julie) Petry of Middletown; his grandmother, Ethel Tipton of Trenton; and seven nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Bernard M. Rice
Bernard Milton Rice, 81, of Middletown, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on Oct. 6, 1918, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Isaac and Hazel Rice. Mr. Rice served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Penny Lane of Middletown; a brother, Marion (Willie) Rice of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters Elise Hoff of Georgia, Marge Lewis of Connecticut, Nabeela Udah of Africa and Elizabeth Curtis of California.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be on Monday, June 5, at 12:30 p.m. at Dayton National Cemetery, with Chaplin Wilton Blake officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, June 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hall-Jordan Memorial Chapel, 918 S. Main St., Middletown.

Beverly A. Robinson
Beverly Ann Robinson, 49, of Middletown, passed away at 10:16 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 29, 1950, in Middletown, Ohio, and had lived here all of her life. She had worked for the City of Middletown for eight years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Inez (Quillen) Berry; and a brother, Bob Berry. Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Audie Staton; a daughter, Bobbie Jo Gregston, and her husband, Michael, of Hamilton; a son, Mark Robinson, and his wife, Fran, of Middletown; six grandchildren, Ashley, Morgan, Miranda, Michaela, Jake and Derrick; three sisters, Patty Hickman, and husband, Vern, of Eaton, Paula Wise, and husband, Mickey, of Middletown, and Sue Pieratt, and husband, John, of Camden; and two brothers, Jack Berry of Camden and Rick Berry, and his wife, Chris, of Middletown.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be Tuesday, May 30, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Wilhoit will officiate. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

James M. Robsion
MIAMISBURG - James M. Robsion II, 78, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2000. He was born in Franklin, Ohio, on Feb. 15, 1922, and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Robsion was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mae Robsion; and a brother, LeRoy M. Robsion. Survivors include two sons, James M. Robsion III, and his wife, Pat, of Germantown, and John M. Robsion of Miamisburg; three daughters, Carolyn Sue McClelland, and her husband, Roy, of Berryville, Alaska, Cassandra Robsion, and Robin Bogard, and husband, Bryan, of Middletown; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and cousins Lois Lawson of Farmersville, Ohio, and Joann and Walter Carles of Germantown.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jason M. Smith
FRANKLIN -- Jason M. Smith, 25, of 132 Choctaw, died Friday, May 26, 2000, in Franklin. He was born on June 15, 1974, in Franklin, Ohio, the son of Robert G. Smith of Miamisburg and Dara Sullenbarger of Franklin. He is also survived by his stepmother, Yvonne Smith of Miamisburg; stepfather, David Sullenbarger of Franklin; a brother, Ryan Smith of Miamisburg; grandparents, Robert and Marie Smith of Carlisle, and grandmother, Mary Lieungh of Franklin; and great-grandmother, Hazel E. Hatfield of Franklin. He was currently employed as a clerk for the Rite Aid Drug Store.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.

Hubert A. Stabler
Hubert A. "Dutch" Stabler, 79, of Middletown, died Monday at Middletown Regional Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1920 in Hillsboro, he was the son of Hugh A. and Grace (Redkey) Stabler. Mr. Stabler had been a resident of Middletown since 1942. He retired from Armco after 39 years service in 1980, as a foreman in the Fabricating Division. "Dutch" was in the 8th Army Air Force during World War II as a flight engineer with the 27th ATG and served three years in the European theater. He was a member of Jefferson Lodge 90 Free & Accepted Masons, a life member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3809, a 45-year member the American Legion Post 218 and a member of Middletown Elks 257. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene Stabler; and a sister, Mary Francis Horner. He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Claibourne) Stabler of Middletown; a daughter, Joyce Ann Smith of Springboro; a son, James A. Stabler of Middletown; sister Anna Mae Setty of Dodsonville, Ohio; granddaughter Jennifer (Gary) Matney; great-grandchildren Ashley and Lindsey Gebhart and Anthony Jon Matney; and a great-great-granddaughter, Alexandria Grace-Ann Diss.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home with Chaplain Doug Alder officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Logan Ward
FRANKLIN -- Logan Ward, 73, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2000. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Robert Ward. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Cox Ward; daughter, Cynthia Mayabb and husband, Dennis Gosney, of Kettering; son, Wade Ward and wife, Marie, of Goshen; grandchildren, Jered Mayabb and Adam Gosney; great-grandson, Cameron Mayabb; sister, Georgia Gaiser of Cincinnati; and brother, Carl of Beavercreek. Mr. Ward retired from General Motors in 1981.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Newcomer-Barclay Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in David's Cemetery.

Robert Warner
Former Middletown resident Robert Warner, 85, of Sarasota, Fla., died Saturday. He had been living in Akron since 1989. Prior to that, he lived in Middletown. Mr. Warner was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a 32nd degree Mason. He was president and owner of Warner Supply Co. in Middletown. He is survived by his wife, Joan; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Marion Landes of Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at the Billow Fairlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron, Ohio 44333, with the Rev. Stanley C. Sneeringer officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation was held Tuesday.

Johnnie R. Weiss
"Big John" Johnnie Robert Weiss, 37, of Middletown, died Saturday at Middletown Regional Hospital. Born in Cherry Point, N.C., he had been a resident of the area for the past 14 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1980 to 1982. He had been employed as a truck driver for six years for J.P. Trucking Company and was a Insulation technician for Dutchman & Co. and Community Action Commission. Mr. Weiss was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnnie Robert Weiss, Harry Todd Weiss and Patrick Lawrence Weiss. He is survived by his wife Kim (Deaton) Weiss of Middletown; son, Sean Robert Weiss of Middletown; daughter, Ashlee Weiss of Middletown; step daughters, Leah Dawn Adams of Middletown and Jennifer Lynn Adams of Middletown; granddaughter, Caitlyn N. Weiss of Middletown; father, Robert L. Weiss of Springfield, Ohio; mother, Karen Daphne Weiss of Monroe, Mich.; brother, Scott (Amber) Weiss of Monroe Mich.; sister, Rochelle (Charles) Knuckles of Monroe, Mich.; three half brothers, two half sisters, aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews as well as friends.
