Pauline L. Edwards
Pauline L. Edwards, 85, of Middletown, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1917, in Miamisburg, the daughter of Russell D. and Myrtle Kelly. Mrs. Edwards was a member of and Sunday school teacher at the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Roberta A. (James) Darney, Sharon H. (Harish) Trivedi and Paula L. (Randall) Smith; two sons, Clifford D. (Rebecca Brown) Edwards and David A. Edwards; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Patrick E. Kelly and Robert L. Kelly; and a sister, Jeanette (Frank) Garcia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clifford C. Edwards in 2001; her parents; a sister, Irma (Thier); and brothers Russell A., John L. and George G. Kelly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Galdeen officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery.

Myron Morris
Myron “Mike” Morris, 76, of Camden, Ohio, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on Feb. 14, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Charles A. and Lola Mae (Walker) Morris. He married Eveline Fryman on April 23, 1947, in Brookville, Ind. Mr. Morris was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and the Korean War. He worked in production for General Motors for 38 years. He is survived by his four sons, Richard (Betty) Morris of Springboro, Kenneth (Gail) Morris of Camden, Charles Morris of Middletown and Thomas (Pam) Morris of Carlisle; a brother, Meritt Morris of Centerville; two sisters, Maxine (Carl) Hines of Englewood and Myra Brown of Detroit, Mich.; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Marvin, Merlin and Marshall Morris; and four sisters, Marian Dearing, Marcella Wilson, Margaret Ward and Marna Ferris.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Nein-Thompson Funeral Home, 249 N. Main St. in Camden.

Edna Mae Poling
Edna Mae Poling, 93 of Hamilton, passed away in her residence Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 11:40 a.m. She was born in Natural Bridge, Ky., on May 29, 1910, the daughter of Roy C. and Lucy (Brandenburg) Brewer. Edna was employed as a laboratory technician for Pillsbury Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1975. On May 21, 1928, in Middletown, she was married to Edward Poling and he preceded her in death in 1981. She is survived by one son, Eddie H. Poling of Middletown; one daughter, Pat and her husband Jerry Glidewell of Hamilton; one sister, Onda Huff of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Eddie (Jenny) Poling Jr. of Lebanon, Debra (Bob) Cover of Middletown, James (Rhonda) Poling of Trenton, Jeffrey Poling of Chesapeake, Va., Kenton Glidewell of Hamilton, Kevin Glidewell of Hamilton and Tracy Boraz of Hamilton; six great-grandchildren, Clint, Kara, Payton, Devin, Jessica and Julia; and one great-great-grandchild, Aidan LaGory. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Earl and Gerald Brewer; and by three sisters, Hazel Brewer, Alma Singleton and Pauline Lycans.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, with the Rev. Susan Bell
Susan J. Bell, 64, of Forest Park, formerly of Middletown, passed away Saturday night at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was born in Middletown May 23, 1939, the daughter of William and Betty Jane (Lloyd) Bell. She worked for the Westfield Companies. She is survived by a sister, Sally Jones of Middletown; nieces and nephews Kevin and Tracy Jones, and Amy and Chris Rezos; and their children, Kendall and Kameron Jones, and David and Michael Rezos.
ARRANGEMENTS: Cremation will be performed at the convenience of the family. No services are planned. Arrangements are by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.

Sincere Davis
Sincere Davis, infant son of Aaron Davis and Jenifer Landrum, was born May 23, 2003, and died May 23, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He is survived by his parents; paternal grandparents Monica Davis Edwards and Steve Davis of Middletown; maternal grandmother Carolyn Landrum of Springboro; sisters Erin Braxton Davis and Jaden Le'nee Davis; one brother, Aaron Maurice Davis Jr.; great-great-grandmother Flossie Hunter of Middletown; aunt Yvonne "Molly" Daniels of Cincinnati; uncle Mike Daniels of Middletown; and a host of relatives.

John R. Harris
John R. Harris, 67, of Middletown, died May 24, 2003 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1935, in Chicago and had lived in Middletown since 1987. John was manager at Moraine Materials for 35 year and Turnbull Concrete in Monroe for five years, retiring in 2000. He attended Towne Boulevard Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Albert and Mary Marguarite Harris; and Nikki, his beloved dog of 13 years. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nora Harris; a daughter, Terri Harris of Middletown; step-children Velma Parker and her husband, Bill, of Trenton, Myra Selby and her husband, Mike, of Middletown, and Gary Francis of Middletown; brothers Jim Harris and his wife, Marilyn, of West Chester, Pa., Sam Harris and his wife, Margie, of Naperville, Ill., and Paul Harris and his wife, Rosemary, of Orland Park, Ill.; sisters Dorothy Paulick and her husband, Bill, of Chicago, and Mary Ann Stout of Middletown; grandchildren Carla Long, Betsy King and Jessica Armocida; great-grandchildren Tyler Long, Cody King, Cory King, Colby King and Meghan Armocida; and many nieces and nephews.

Stephen Lowell Ricketts
Stephen Lowell Ricketts, 45, of Lebanon, Ohio, passed from this life unto life everlasting on Tuesday, May 13, 2003. Steve was a foreman at the Coke Plant of AK Steel since 1998 upon transfer from Koppers Industries, Alabama. He was a member of Truth Tabernacle Apostolic Church, serving as head usher and as a member of the Board of Directors. He had previously served as assistant minister at Green Pond Pentecostal Church in Green Pond, Ala. He graduated from J.O. Johnson High School in Huntsville, Ala., in 1976, and then entered the Army, with service until 1979. Steve was a good man, hard worker and well-respected at work, church and community. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his son, Jeremy; and daughters Stephanie at home and Jennifer Ricketts of Boise, Idaho. Also surviving are his mother, Genell Ricketts of Huntsville; and his sister, Melinda Ricketts, also of Huntsville.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Truth Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 6879 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Middletown, Ohio, 45044. The Rev. Daniel N. Hidlebaugh will be the officiating minister.

Mildred A. Rogers
Mildred A. Rogers, “Granny,” 92, formerly of Middletown, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Otterbein Retirement Community in Lebanon, where she resided. She was born in Soddy, Tenn., on May 25, 1910, the daughter of Albert and Myrtle Manning. She married August Horton Rogers Aug. 25, 1928, and he preceded her in death in September 1966. Mrs. Rogers was formerly employed by Montgomery Ward and retired from Office Outfitters in Middletown. She was active in the nursery department at First United Methodist Church and Senior Citizens, and enjoyed watching children at the YMCA. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers. Surviving are two sons, Horton M. Rogers and wife Ann of Fern Park, Fla., and Robert K. Rogers and wife Becky of Carlisle; brothers William Manning of Winchester, Ky., and Carl Manning of Tullahoma, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Tim Rogers of Gainesville, Fla., Gail Flynn of Lakeworth, Fla., Laurie Rogers Hiers of Carlisle, Kenny Rogers of Waynesville, Beth Daniel of Carlisle and Lynn McIntosh of Mitchell, Ind.; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Georgia M. Varney, 71, of Franklin, Ohio, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at Southview Hospital. She was born in O’Keeffe, W.Va., on Nov. 6, 1931, the daughter of John and Ninevah (Hopson) Huff. She was formerly employed by Franklin City Schools for 25 years and she was the best mom that ever was. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald L. Varney; sons Jerry Lee Varney of Springboro, Everett Varney of Germantown, Timothy Varney of Manchester and William Varney and Mark Varney, both of Franklin; brother Harlus Huff of Yellow Springs; sister Shirley Queen of Virginia Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dina Collette Carpenter Banks Watkins, 39, of 708 Julia Drive, Franklin, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003. She was born March 4, 1964, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of Willie and Margie (Hensley) Carpenter. She is survived by her mother Margie Carpenter of Franklin; daughters Nola Banks and Brittney Albertson, both of Franklin; brother Scott Carpenter; and sisters Paula Carpenter, Melissa Kennedy and Amy Turner, all of Franklin.

Eugene Elkins
Mr. Eugene Elkins, 80, Middletown, died Friday at his residence. He was born in Middletown on June 28, 1922, but was raised in Wolfe County, Ky. He moved back to Middletown 64 years ago. He served two years in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Elkins was employed as a trimmer operator at Sorg Paper Co. for 30, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 528. Elkins was survived by his wife of 55 years, Oneida, three sons; Richard (Kathy) Elkins of Middletown, Larry (Monica) Elkins of Middletown, and Mark Elkins of Dayton; three daughters, Lois Carder of Middletown, Deborah (Frank) Johnston of Monroe, and Karen (Jerry) Buchanan of Middletown; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Henry and Betty (Kidd) Elkins; three sisters, Christine Abubo, Imogene Ross and Vernadean Williams and a son-in-law, Herman “Tadpole” Carder.

Edna A. Smith
Edna A. Smith, 97, of Trenton, Ohio, died Thursday at Hawthorn Glenn Nursing Center. She was born in Trenton on Feb. 19, 1906, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Bernt) Allspach. On March 12, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Edna married J. Harold Smith. They were married for 65 years. Harold preceded Edna in death on June 20, 1996. Harold and Edna spent their life together as farmers in the Wayne-Madison Road area until his retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Trenton Mennonite Church, the Women’s Christian Service of Trenton and the Butler County Farm Bureau. Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Richard L. Smith and his wife Bobbie of Trenton, Virginia Longmire and her husband Sam of Trenton, and Marilyn Otto of Stuart, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jeffrey and Darryl Smith, Greg Knotts, Amy Ring and Charles Otto; three great-grandchildren, Greg and Randy Ring, and Kaitlyn Smith; sister, Louise Richter of Middletown; and two brothers, Homer Allspach of Texas and Walter Allspach of Hamilton, Ohio. Edna also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Esther Kroger, Hilda Truster, Frieda Persch and Alma Woodrey; two brothers, Ernst and Wilmer Allspach; and one grandson, Steven Smith.

Edith C. Cox
Mrs. Edith C. Cox, 80, of Franklin, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, after a lengthy illness. She had been a resident of Willow Knoll Retirement Community since October. She was born Edith C. Carpenter on June 14, 1922, in Franklin, Ohio, to George and Alpha Carpenter. Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Franklin. She was a member of the Carlisle First Church of God. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Heza Cox, whom she married on June 15, 1941; her parents; a brother, William Carpenter; three daughters, E. Carol Rose, Myrna L. Bowermaster and Judy A. Marquardt. Mrs. Cox will be sadly missed by many friends and family members, including her only son, Heza Martin (Floriene) Cox of Franklin; a brother, Charles (Faye) Carpenter of Middletown; and son-in-law Robert Marquardt of Franklin. Lucille Keplinger
Lucille Keplinger, 87, of Trenton, Ohio, died on Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Fort Hamilton Hospital. Born in Eaton, Ohio, on Dec. 17, 1915, she was the daughter of Gordon and Lillian (Peacock) Davish. On Sept. 26, 1942, in Orlando, Fla., Lucille married Harold Keplinger. She was employed by Champion, Kings Mills, and was a supervisor for LeSourdsville Lake. Mrs. Keplinger is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Harold; three sons, Dale Keplinger of Middletown, Ohio, Larry A. Keplinger, and his wife, Joyce, of Trenton, and Darrell Keplinger of Trenton; two daughters, Connie Allen of Pine, Colo., and Sally Lloyd, and her husband, Gordon, of Monroe, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents.

James P. McGlone
James P. McGlone, born Jan. 5, 1932, in Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at his home in Austin, Texas, after a three-year struggle with lymphoma and leukemia. He was a 1954 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering, and was honored as the 1992 College of Engineering Outstanding Alumni. He was employed at Armco Steel Corp. for 42 years, starting as a co-op scholarship student, served in various management and executive positions in Houston, Texas, Kansas City, Mo., and Middletown, Ohio, and concluded his career as president and CEO of Armco Steel Co. He received various management awards and honors with Armco including a 1984 Armco Spirit Award. He served on a number of boards of directors at various banks, institutions and companies, as well as holding leadership positions at various churches over the many years. His professional life was characterized by personal integrity and respect for those he knew, followed and lead. He was a disciplined individual with a quiet sense of humor and a great love for the game of golf. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and tireless grandfather, and he especially cherished the many friendships he and his wife, Mitzi, developed over the years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edgar P. and Esta McGlone. He is survived by his wife, Mitzi; a son, Mike, daughter-in-law, Ann, and grandsons Sam and Benson McGlone of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Dr. Lisa McGlone, and son-in-law, Mike Miller, of Houston, Texas; a brother, Edgar R. McGlone of Ashland, Ky.; stepmother Opal Spurlock of Ashland, Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Corey Eugene Morton, 34, of 1808 Carolina St., Middletown, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at his residence. He was born on March 19, 1969, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Herbert Henry Stewart and Norma Jean Morton. Corey was employed by Dayton Technologies as a lead operator for 12 years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys and bowling. He is survived by his parents; his wife, Jennifer (Coffey) Morton; daughters Paris Morton and Xandrea Morton, both at home; sisters Tonya M. Morton of Lebanon and Sylvia A. Bud Van Buskirk
Bud Van Buskirk, 91, of Middletown, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. He was born in Middletown, Ohio, on Sept. 3, 1911, to parents Russell and Clara (Yeager) Van Buskirk. Bud was very interested in all athletics, coaching Pee Wee Football and teaching wrestling at the YMCA for many years. At one time, he was very active with Big Brothers. He was a member of Lincoln Lodge 693 Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, Butler County Scottish Rite Club, Middletown Sportsman’s Club, and BPOE 257, having earned the Elk of the Year Award in 1983. Bud is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Stubbs) Van Buskirk of Middletown; a son, Dr. Ronald (Karen) Van Buskirk of Mount Pleasant, Texas; a sister, Beryl (Dr. Harry) Conrad of San Diego, Calif.; sister-in-law Gladys Van Buskirk of Monroe, Ohio; grandchildren Anna Van Buskirk of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and Benjamin Van Buskirk of Houston, Texas; step-grandchildren, Terry and Gary Richardson of Mount Pleasant, Texas; nieces Peggy Van Buskirk of Cleveland, Ohio, Rosemary Globokar of Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy Hartfelder of New Lebanon, Ohio, and Christel (Jeffery) Wallin of San Diego, Calif. April Noel Woodward, 28, of Middletown, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born in Middletown on March 27, 1975, and was a lifelong resident. April had worked as a secretary for Abilities First for about four years. She was a member of the Park Drive Church of God in Carlisle, Ohio, and was the recipient of the “Angel of the Year Award” through the United Way. Her mother, Janice Lee Woodward was killed in the same automobile accident. Robert E. Bennett
Robert (Rob) Edward Bennett, 32, of Austin, Texas, died Friday, May 2, 2003, in Austin, Texas. He was born in San Diego, Calif., the son of Robert J. Bennett and Mary S. (Kroger) Bennett. Within two months, his family returned to Texas where Rob was raised. Rob attended school in Arlington until the family moved to the Mansfield School District where he attended. He was a graduate of Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. After his mother’s death, Rob moved to Austin. He worked several jobs but his love was music television shows. His education led him in that direction and he worked on and produced several music television shows. He is survived by his father, Robert J. (Bob) Bennett of Littlestown, Pa.; stepmother Judy T. Bennett; a brother, Michael James Bennett of Arlington; a stepsister, Sonya Earp; stepbrothers Jason and Lonnie Simmons; grandmothers Jewell Bennett of Hamilton, Texas, and Ruby Kroger of Middletown; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Texas and California; and many friends in Austin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Bennett in 1996.

Felix Manso
Felix Manso, 61, of 3012 73rd St., Tampa, Fla., died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Tampa General Hospital. He was a Tampa native, a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Manso was a member of the Tampa First Assembly of God. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and music. Among his survivors are his mother, Pauline Perez of Tampa, Fla.; three daughters, Tarry Harville of White Pine, Tenn., Cheryl Long of Tampa, and Christine Manso of Pinehurst, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Richard and Tara Harville, Brittany and Bear Baker, and Christina Long; and five siblings, Elena Jervis, Luis Locicero, Jose Perez, Jesus Perez and Brenda Perez.

James P. McGlone
James P. McGlone, born Jan. 5, 1932, in Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at his home in Austin, Texas, after a three-year struggle with lymphoma and leukemia. He was a 1954 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering, and was honored as the 1992 College of Engineering Outstanding Alumni. He was employed at Armco Steel Corp. for 42 years, starting as a co-op scholarship student, served in various management and executive positions in Houston, Texas, Kansas City, Mo., and Middletown, Ohio, and concluded his career as president and CEO of Armco Steel Co. He received various management awards and honors with Armco including a 1984 Armco Spirit Award. He served on a number of boards of directors at various banks, institutions and companies, as well as holding leadership positions at various churches over the many years. His professional life was characterized by personal integrity and respect for those he knew, followed and lead. He was a disciplined individual with a quiet sense of humor and a great love for the game of golf. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and tireless grandfather, and he especially cherished the many friendships he and his wife, Mitzi, developed over the years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edgar P. and Esta McGlone. He is survived by his wife, Mitzi; a son, Mike, daughter-in-law, Ann, and grandsons Sam and Benson McGlone of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Dr. Lisa McGlone, and son-in-law, Mike Miller, of Houston, Texas; a brother, Edgar R. McGlone of Ashland, Ky.; stepmother Opal Spurlock of Ashland, Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wallace B. Slone Sr.
Wallace B. “Wally” Slone Sr., 81, of Monroe, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Middlesboro, Ky., on Nov. 17, 1921, to parents Benjamin J. and Della Mae (Noe) Slone Sr. Wally worked in the slab mill maintenance department of Armco Steel Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force reserves, retiring in 1975, after serving a combined total of 35 years in the military. A veteran of World War II, he had served 39 months overseas in Africa and Europe. Wally was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 55 years, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, with three oak leaves. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award and served as a commissioner for the Dan Beard Council. He was a member of the Dial Radio Club of Middletown since 1960 and a volunteer advisor with Junior Achievement. Wally was a charter member of Eastview Baptist Church in Franklin. Wally was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, William Wallace Schmidt; six sisters; and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Alice (Saylor) Slone; a daughter, Lettie J. (Bill) Schmidt of Yakima, Wash.; two sons, Wallace B. (Martina) Slone Jr. of Monroe, Ohio, and J. Robert (Amy) Slone of Maineville, Ohio; granddaughters Susan C. (Brian) Barnes, Heather Lynn (Tandyn) Lippert and Siobhan Slone; a grandson, Jon Wallace (Nicole) Slone; and a great-grandson, Benjamin Wallace Slone.

Ana Rose Garcia, 42, of Middletown, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on May 21, 1960. She is survived by her mother, Ibeliza Alta Gracia Garcia; one daughter, Ona Mercedes Garcia; three sons, Rafael Antonio, Anthoni Ella and Josue Marques; four brothers, Pedro Antonio, Jorge Antonio, Adriano Antonio and Marcelino Antonio Garcia; two sisters, Irma and Rosario Altagracia Garcia; granddaughters, Ilianna and Katherine Perez; nine nephews, Wendy, Jonh, Luis, Wander, Sandy, Meliza, Yenci, Gugo, Esmailin Garcia and Elvin Medrano. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Antonio Molla Polanco, and brother, Eduardo Antonio Garcia.

Andrew J. Kopp Jr.
Andrew J. Kopp Jr., 79 of Germantown, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the Friendly Nursing Home. Andrew was born in Dayton on Oct. 15, 1923, to the late Andrew J. and Mary “Faye” (Horn) Kopp Sr. He was a World War II Air Force veteran, serving as a second lieutenant with the 361st Fighter Group as a P-51 Mustang fighter pilot. He graduated from Wilmington College in 1952. Upon graduation, he taught science and art in the Clinton County, Carlisle, Princeton and Franklin school districts. Andrew was also a self-employed artist and sign painter until 1986. He was a member of the Commemorative Air Force and the P-51 Mustang Pilots’ Association; a former member of the Carlisle Lions Club, and a former member and past president of the Franklin Historical Society. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah A. and Ed Simpkins of Germantown; his son, Andrew J. Kopp III; and his sister, Mary Carolyn (Herman) Schmid of Owensville, Ohio.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Dalton Funeral Home, corner of Ohio 4 and Weaver Road, Germantown, with Pastor David Kepple officiating.

Lodean Long
Mrs. Lodean R. Long, 70, of 7204 Ohio 4, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Campton, Ky., Nov. 10, 1932, a daughter of Asa and Delilah (Taulbee) Rose. She worked in her husband’s business, Victor Paving, until his death in 1975, then continued to run the family farms. Mrs. Long was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Middletown Christian Women’s Club and the auxiliaries of the VFW and the American Legion. She had also volunteered at Middletown Regional Hospital. She is survived by her two sons, Victor Ray (wife, Mota) Long of Middletown, and Brian Dean (wife, Amy) Long of Findlay, Ohio; four loving grandchildren, Brian “Tyler” Long, Victor “Kyle” Long, Patricia Lee Long and Carrie Lynn Frye; four sisters, Pauline Digonno of Fairfield, Martha Lane of Campton, Ky., Patricia Atkisson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Charlotte Parks of Campton, Ky.; four brothers, Rainey Rose of Middletown, Lenville Rose of South Lyon, Mich., Lee Rose of Campton, Ky., and Phillip Rose of Lakeland, Fla.; and by 19 nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Long; and by her parents, Asa and Delilah Rose; two brothers, Shockey and Clifford; and a sister, Josephine.

M. Lorraine McGraw, 81, of Middletown, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center. She was born in Beckley, W.Va., on Sept. 27, 1921, to parents Carlye A. and Wanda I. (Lilly) Tudor. Lorraine was a 1938 graduate of Middletown High School and the Middletown Business and Secretarial College. She worked for Dr. Louis B. Gaker as office manager and for Dr. Al Neimer. She was secretary for Armbruster Environmental Services and was past president of American Business Women’s Association. Mrs. McGraw is survived by her three children, Jeffrey Eugene (Janice) McGraw of Boiling Springs, Pa., Melinda K. (James) Armbruster of Middletown, and Kerry Lynn McGraw of Reynoldsburg; one sister, May Fern Hamilton of Wooster; seven grandchildren, Lori (Paul) Schreiner-McGraw, David E. McGraw, James E. (Susie) Armbruster, II, Tracy Anne Armbruster, Matthew B. (Anna) Armbruster, Nathan V. McGraw and Justin P. McGraw; and eight great-grandchildren, Adam Schreiner-McGraw, Jeffrey Schreiner-McGraw, Tanner J. Armbruster, Gabriel V. Armbruster, Madison B. Armbruster, Emmanuel D. Armbruster, Maxwell B. Thomas D. Poff Sr., 60, of Middletown, died on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Trenton on Oct. 17, 1942, to parents Thomas Dewey and Myrtle (Shafer) Poff. Thomas served his country in the United States Army. He was a welder for Armco Steel for 30 years. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rodney Alan Poff.
