Thelma J. Lain
Thelma J. Lain, 85, of Franklin, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Sycamore Hospital, Miamisburg, Ohio. She was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Waynesville, Ohio. She was a member of the Germantown Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann (Lancing) Chamberlain; a stepfather, Oliver "Dutch'' Chamberlain; a half-sister, Mary Malson; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Ververis. Her survivors include her husband of 66 years, Ross Lain, of Franklin; two sons, Larry W. and his wife, Sue Lain, of Franklin, and Darroll and his wife, Judy Lain, of Gratis; a half-brother, Carl Phillip Chamberlain, of San Antonio, Texas; two half-sisters, Martha Spurlock, of Denver, and Betty Estridge, of Brookville, Ind.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Germantown Church of the Nazarene, 8140 S. Butter St., Germantown. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the church, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Wilson. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton. Following the service, family and friends are invited back to the church for a luncheon and refreshments. Memorial contributions may be made to the Germantown Church of the Nazarene.

Gillie A. Litteral
Gillie Ann McKinney Litteral, 95, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Barbara Parke Care Center. She was born on Aug. 15, 1902, in Ebon, Ky., and was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters, Wilma Sexton, and her husband, Curtis, of Raleigh, N.C., Juanita Little of Trenton and Geraldine McKinney of Middletown; five grandchildren, Sherlyn VanDeveer of Chicago, Ill., Vicki Oliver of Raleigh, N.C., and Kathy Graft, Robin Morgan and Shelly Faulkner, all of Middletown; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Emma McGuire; a daughter, Imogene Havens; a brother, Garrett Lee McGuire; and a sister, Susan Marie McGuire. A graveside service with open casket will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ezel Cemetery in Ezel, Ky. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home.

William R. Loberg
William Randolph Loberg, 29, of Kettering, died Sunday, May 3, 1998. He was born in Virginia on Jan. 11, 1969, the son of Brant and Carma Loberg. He was employed in sales by Rite Rug in Centerville. Mr. Loberg had served in the U.S. armed forces for three years. Surviving are his wife of four years, Jennifer; a daughter, Noelle Ann, at home; his father, Brant Loberg; his mother, Carma Fieger of Fort Mitchell, Ky.; a brother, Ryan of Pennsylvania; a stepbrother, Shawn Smith of the U.S. Navy; and a stepsister, Angie Smith of Harrison. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. Lamar Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Margaret S. Lehman
Margaret S. Lehman, 81, of Mount Pleasant Retirement Village, died Friday, July 10, 1998. She was born June 21, 1917 in Hamilton, the daughter of Julius Schmitt and Katherine (Hauschild) Schmitt. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hamilton. She was a charter and faithful member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. She served regularly as a teacher in the parish's Sunday school, preschool, women's Bible classes, and vacation Bible school. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She is survived by two sons, Robert Jerome ``Jerry'' Lehman Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Middletown, and Michael Lehman, and his wife, Joyce, of Middletown; two grandchildren, Robbie and Katie Lehman; one sister, Myrtle Ziegler, of Oxford; and two brothers, Don Schmitt, of Hamilton, and Bud Schmitt, of Wilmot, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert J. Lehman Sr., in 1968. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Messiah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas W. Chopp officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Memorial contribution may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, 4715 Holly Ave., Middletown, 45044.

Robert "Corky'' Long Jr.
Robert "Corky'' Long Jr., 61, of Middletown, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on May 11, 1937, and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Long was the owner/operator of Corky's Auto Care and Towing Service, previously Corky's Marathon Station, for a total of 36 years. He had also formerly operated Towne Mall Marathon for several years and Greyhound bus lines for 20 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 501 and Elks Lodge 257, both of Middletown. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Patty Long; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon and Donnie Sixt of Middletown, Sheila and Clint Booth of Lebanon and Vickie Denzer, and her fiance, John Morris of Franklin; four grandchildren, Ashley and Donnie Sixt of Middletown and Brittany and Courtney Booth of Lebanon; his mother, Margaret McKenzie Long of Germantown; aunts, uncles and cousins; and dear friends, Joanne, Roger and Dale Foreman of Monroe and David Barker of Middletown. His father, Robert G. Long Sr., preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Denny officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor's choice.

Richard J. Lentz
Richard J. Lentz, 79, of Washington Township, passed away Friday, March 12, 1999. He was a World War II Army veteran, a graduate of DePaul University, a member of the Church of the Incarnation, and the Sugar Valley Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Virginia M. (Ginny) Lentz. He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Hubbell and her husband, Larry, of Washington Township, and Joan Lentz, of Columbus; a son, Richard J . Lentz Jr., of Washington Township; and one grandson.

Colt Lewis
Colt Edward (Nickell) Lewis, 1, infant son of Beth Nickell and Jerry Lewis of Somerville, Ohio, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Dayton on March 6, 1998. He is survived by his parents; maternal grandparents, Kenny and Linda Nickell of Germantown, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Betty Lewis of Gratis, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Richard and Nora Hardin of Greenville, Ohio; maternal great- grandfather, George Mowen of Gratis, Ohio; maternal great-grandmother, Kathryn Nickell of Germantown, Ohio; paternal grandmothers, Lizzie Perry of Gratis, Ohio, and Mildred Shuttleworth of Verona, Ohio; and special aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Vernon Lewis; great- grandmother JoAnne Mowen and great-grandfather Archie B. Nickell.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Gratis, Ohio. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Gratis. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Melmeth 'Bud' Lindsey
Melmeth "Bud" Lindsey, 62, of Middletown, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 24, 1936, in Middletown. He was a warehouse manager at Dittman Adams Company for 32 years before retiring in August of 1998. He was preceded in death by his father, Mel Lindsey. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Lindsey, of Middletown; a son, John Lindsey, of Middletown; a daughter, Cindi McDaniel, of Oxford; three grandchildren, John Lindsey, Joe Lindsey, and Ryan Byrge; a brother, Jim Lindsey; three sisters, Jane Lindsey, Jean Hensley, and Joanne Powers; his mother, Mary Prugh; and stepfather, Jesse Prugh.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.

Rudolph Looney
Rudolph Milton "Eddie Green" Looney, 70, of 119-H Bavarian Drive, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at the VA Medical Center in Dayton after an extended illness. He was born on Dec. 24, 1928, in Middletown to the late Majoris and Rush Floyd Looney. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Henrietta S. Looney "Sugar Pie;" five daughters, Thomasetta Calhoun, and her husband, Jerry, Corliss Carr, and her husband, Donald, Bridget Adams, and her husband, Leo, Sonya Johnson, and her husband, Michael, and Cassandra Montgomery, and her husband, Lyman; two sons, Rudolph Looney Jr. and William Patrick Looney, and his wife, Nicki; a sister, Virginia Mack; a brother, Herman Looney, and his wife, Luvergia; 38 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Clarence Looney, and four grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Leon Wilkinson officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hall-Jordan Memorial Chapel.
