Robert A. Quisno
Robert A. "Bob'' Quisno, 83, of Monroe, passed away Monday, March 9, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Port Clinton, Ohio, on Feb. 2, 1915, the son of Frank and Mable Fall Quisno. Mr. Quisno was the founder of Hilltop Research Inc., Cincinnati, where he had worked for more than 50 years. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Survivors included a daughter, Carol (Jim) Pearce of Cincinnati; a brother, Carl E. Quisno of Lakeside, Ohio; and two granddaughters, Melissa Pearce of Chicago, Ill., and Sarah Pearce of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Nelle Bird Quisno. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Elm St., Monroe, with the Rev. Janet Dillaman officiating. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Mount Healthy, Ohio. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Pleasant Life Care Fund, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, 45050; or Cincinnati Nature Center, 4949 Tealtown Road, Milford, 45150. Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Roger P. Quinnan
Roger Phillip Quinnan, 68, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Tucson, Ariz., died Monday, June 29, 1998, at his residence. He had been in ill health since an auto accident two years ago. The brother of local Middletown resident Brian Quinnan of Forest Glen Drive, Roger was born on July 3, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Richard W. and Margaret (Forton) Quinnan. He was raised in St. Clair Shores, Mich., and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1948. In 1952, he received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Detroit. Mr. Quinnan first worked as a accountant for Square D Co. in Detroit. In 1959, he moved with his family to Chula Vista, Calif., where he worked as an accounting manager/controller for Rohr Aircraft Co. He later moved to the Tucson, Ariz., and in September 1997, while in retirement, he moved to Henderson, Nev. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Lea (Jones) Quinnan, whom he married in Las Vegas on Nov. 28, 1997; his first wife, Marilyn McCracken of Tucson; two daughters, Mary K. Quinnan and Maureen A. Quinnan, both of Tucson; four sons, Matthew R. Quinnan of Chicago, Ill., and Mark J., John R. and Luke M. Quinnan, all of Tucson; a brother, Brian R. of Middletown, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Patricia (Albert G.) Hill of Dublin, Ohio; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Quinnan Sr., in 1974; his mother, Margaret Quinnan, in 1985; and a brother, Richard W. Jr., in 1974. His remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held in Tucson, Ariz., at a future date.

Linda May Reed
TRENTON - Mrs. Linda May Reed, 55, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, in her Trenton residence. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy Vance of Middletown and was born on July 4, 1942. She was reared in Middletown and graduated from Middletown High School in 1960. After graduating, she was employed by Middletown Hospital, working in the business office. She married Walter Reed, of Trenton, on March 28, 1969. She began working with Careview Home Health in 1982, and was a beloved member of the Trenton community, as well as an active member of Trenton Christian Church for 29 years. She is survived by her husband of 29 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Reed and Ruth, of Trenton, and Michael Reed and Jackie, of Bainbridge, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura Rezanka and Douglas, of Berkley, Mich.; five grandchildren, Kurtis, Kaleb and Kaitlyn Reed, and Kayli and Kelsi Craig; and two sisters, Lois Hoffman of Dayton and Judy Downs and her husband, Ron, of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Kyle Reed. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in Middletown, with David Hopkins officiating. Burial will be at Miltonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Trenton Christian Church, P.O. Box 185, Trenton, 45067.

Joseph E. Rickard
MIDDLETOWN - Joseph E. Rickard, 76, of Middletown, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at his residence. He was born June 28, 1921, in Franklin, Ohio, to Carl and Edna Rickard. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in World War II. He worked as an inspector for the General Motors Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was a former member of the Church at Mayfield.. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Hein. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Rickard; two children, Linda Shafor of Middletown and Timothy Rickard of Lansing, Mich.; one granddaughter, Tracy (Chris) Whiteman of Middletown; one great-grandchild, Payton Whiteman of Middletown; and one brother, Lester Rickard of Middletown. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Joseph R. Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Art Wilson officiating. Burial is at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

David E. Riddell
David E. Riddell, 56, of Tytus Avenue, Middletown, died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, May 4, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Franklin on Oct. 5, 1941, the son of Woodrow and Frieda (Trimball) Riddell. He had lived in Franklin for 50 years. Mr. Riddell served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was employed by the Franklin Box Board Co. for 25 years and retired as a shipping clerk in December 1992. He also served for 11 years as a volunteer for the Franklin Fire Department. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Linda (Dodridge) Riddell; a son, Thomas Riddell, and his wife, Rebekah, of Cincinnati; and two brothers, Donald Riddell, and his wife, Edna, and Russell Riddell, and his wife, Patty, all of Franklin, and their families. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mayme Riley
FRANKLIN - Mrs. Mayme Shockley Riley, 82, of 70 John St., died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg. A native of Thornhill, Tenn., she was formerly employed as a paper sorter at Kimberly-Clark in West Carrollton. She is survived by her husband, French; a son, Cecil L. Long of White City, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Parker of West Carrollton and Connie Hipsher of Franklin; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Shockley of Middletown; and a sister, Laura Shatford of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty J. Brewer; three brothers, Raymond, Oscar and Joe; and a sister, Birdie Shockley. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Eaton-Anderson Funeral Home, 121 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. Chuck Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hazel B. Ritter
Mrs. Hazel B. Ritter, 96, of Monroe, passed away Friday, April 10, 1998, at Mount Pleasant Village in Monroe. A Middletown native, she was born here on Aug. 12, 1901, and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Ritter was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Chapel of Holy Family Parish in Middletown. She belonged to Wildwood Golf Club and had been a very active golfer. She leaves a daughter, Jeanne R. Sandston of Middletown; two sons, Thomas A. Ritter of Wyoming, Ohio, and James J. Ritter of Middletown; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Ritter of Orlando, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E.; a son, William G. Ritter; and a brother, Herschel Berkley. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with Father John Civille officiating. Coleman T. Roberts II
Coleman T. Roberts II, 42, of 621 20th Ave., died Wednesday morning, April 15, 1998, at his residence. Coleman was born in Middletown on Feb. 18, 1956, to Coleman T. Sr. and the late Margaret Roberts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was self-employed with his father Coleman's landscaping company. He was preceded in death by his mother on March 23, 1996. He is survived by his father, Coleman T. Sr. of Middletown; a sister, Denise McLean, and a niece, Nakisha McLean, both of Richmond, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Hall-Jordan Memorial Chapel, 918 S. Main St., with the Rev. Gregory Tyus officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon Saturday until time of service at the chapel.

Palma C. Roberts
MIAMISBURG - Palma Charmaine Roberts, 67, of 85 N. Gebhart Church Road, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Lewisburg, Ohio, on Jan. 1, 1931, the daughter of Rudolph and Olive (Stratton) Westray. She was a faithful supporter of West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene. She was employed at the General Motors Corp. engine plant for 24 years, retiring in 1992. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Wayne Roberts, in 1950. Surviving are a son, Timothy Roberts, and his wife, Betty, of West Chester; a close friend, Bill Moss; three brothers, Donald Westray of Springboro, M. Wayne Westray of Kettering and Rudy Westray of Fort Myers, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Timothy M. Roberts and Anthony Tine Roberts. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Eaton-Anderson Funeral Home, 121 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. David Schooler officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. Naomi Robinson
TRENTON - Mrs. Naomi T. Robinson, 92, of 401 Clara Drive, died Saturday, April 18, 1998, at her residence. She was born in Muncie, Ind., on July 25, 1905, the daughter of James E. and Melvina Jane (Danner) Watkins, and lived in this area most of her life. Mrs. Robinson was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Middletown. During World War II, she was a Red Cross volunteer. After the war, she continued to volunteer her time, contributing crocheted and knitted articles. Her primary focus in her life was her home and family. Among her survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Janet Robinson of Middletown, and their children, Steven and Barbara Robinson (children Johnny and Katie), Douglas Robinson, Carolyn Robinson and Jennifer and Mark Broughton; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorice and Don Perkins of Hillsboro, Ohio, and their children, De-De and Chip Dennig (children Alex, Nick and Molly), and David and Jana Perkins (children Kristen and Tayler). She was preceded in death by a son, James Hisle Robinson, in 1980 and her husband, John C. Robinson, in 1987. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home in Middletown, with the Rev. Carol Oetzel officiating. Friends may call from noon until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to either the memorial fund or the building fund at First Christian Church.

Roy Rose
Roy Rose, 96, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, May 3, 1998, at Willow Knoll Nursing Center. He was born on July 19, 1901, in Wolfe County, Ky., and had lived in this area for 39 years. Mr. Rose was self-employed and the owner of his own lumber business. He retired in 1966. He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church. Among his survivors are his wife of 73 years, Susie J. Rose; two daughters, Marie Roe of Covina, Calif., and Lucille (Donald) Swartzel of Middletown; a son, Roy Rose Jr. of San Marcos, Calif.; a sister, Lucy McElwain of New Holland, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Leo, in 1984 and a granddaughter, Beverly Wagers. v Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to express its deepest appreciation to the entire staff of Willow Knoll Nursing Center for their kindness and loving care.

David E. Rouse Sr.
HAMILTON - David E. Rouse Sr., 54, of Hamilton, born on Dec. 23, 1943, in Harlan, Ky., passed away at Fort Hamilton-Hughes Memorial Hospital at 8:24 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 1998. He is survived by three children, David E. Rouse Jr., and his wife, Jackie, of Trenton, James R. Rouse, and his wife, Theresa, of Indian Springs, and Jack Lee Rouse of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Brad, Curtis, Angela, Christopher, Jordan and Renae Rouse; his mother, Alene Rouse of Hamilton; his siblings, Jack L. Rouse, and his wife, Janice, of Hamilton, Judith A. Goins, and her husband, James, of Florence, Ky., Sue Abner, and her husband, Roscoe, Wanda Stephens, and her husband, Terry, John Rouse, and his wife, Loretta, Linda Smith, Carolyn Rouse, Cathy Jenkins, Kenneth Rouse, and his wife, Pam, and Janet Schroeder, and her husband, Edward, all of Hamilton; 21 nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Beth Hartleb, and family of Hamilton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, entering the service in May 1960 and serving in Europe until March 1965. He worked for Marshall Electric for 28 years, first as an employee and then as president and owner for the past four years. He leaves many special friends and family at Marshall's. He was an avid car racing enthusiast for over 30 years. He leaves many friends from the Edgewater and Tri-State Raceway. He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Rouse, in 1985; grandparents Arthur and Bessie Lowe and Bertha and Escoe Rouse; and a brother-in-law, Johnnie Jenkins. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Weigel Funeral Home, 980, N.W. Washington Blvd., Hamilton, with the Revs. Scott Miller and Blaine McLeese officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be given to a charity of one's choice in his memory.

Virgie Roy
GERMANTOWN - Mrs. Virgie Roy, 69, of Germantown, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg. A native of Straight Creek, Ky., she was born on Jan. 22, 1929. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Carrie and Chester Rhymer, and a brother, Delbert Rhymer. Mrs. Roy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Haywood; a daughter, Judy (Jeff) Allen, and three grandchildren, Jeff Allen III, Shawna Allen and Channing Allen, all of Middletown; three sisters, Maxine (John) Mohr, Pauline Clevenger (George) Mohr and Judy (Rick) Rhymer, and a brother, Earl Rhymer, all of Monroeville, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephªews. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Dalton Funeral Home, at the corner of Ohio 4 and Weaver Road, Germantown, where the funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Louie Rudd
Louie Rudd, 79, of 4728 Roosevelt Blvd., died Tuesday morning, May 5, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Magoffin County, Ky., on April 1, 1919, a son of Taylor Henry and Hattie (Helton) Rudd. He served in the Army anti-aircraft artillery during World War II. Mr. Rudd owned and operated the Lucky Shop on Yankee Road. He leaves his wife, Naomi (Deaton) Rudd; four daughters, Janice Sue Reynolds, and her husband, Kelly Lee, of Sebring, Fla., Jacqueline Mae Chaney, and her husband, David, of Bethel, Ohio, Tammy Gail Welcher, and her husband, Gregory, of Roscoe, Ill., and Kimberly Ann Johnson, and her husband, Mark, of Middletown; a son, James Louie Rudd, and his wife, Judy, of Dayton, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Molly Barger of New Richmond, Ohio, Magalene Reed of Sebring, Fla., Laura Mae Barger of Bethel, Ohio, and Ethel Frances Moore of New Richmond, Ohio; and two brothers, Charles H. Rudd and Eugene Rudd, both of Felicity, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Ellen Creager and Mary Villa Collins; and a brother, Calvin Dawes. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Mellott officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery. American Legion Post 218 Color Guard will conduct graveside military honors. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
