Robert Nossokoff
Robert Nossokoff, 64, of 114 Northwestern Ave., Monroe, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born on July 22, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Samuel Nossokoff and Gertrude (Graitge) Nossokoff. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1957. Mr. Nossokoff retired in 1992 from AK Steel Co. He was employed at Armco/AK Steel Co. for 35 years as director of purchasing and transportation. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a past trustee, past deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Nossokoff was a current member of the board at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village, the William H. Miller Lodge 769 Free & Accepted Masons and the Pittsburgh Shrine. He was also a former Rotarian, a past member of the board of the American Cancer Society and the board of Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Norma; two sons, Doug (wife Kelly) Nossokoff of Lexington, Ky., and Mark (wife Erika) Nossokoff of Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren, Christopher, Taylor, Jenny and Austin Nossokoff; a sister, Audrey Nossokoff of Butler, Pa.; and a brother, Zane Nossokoff of Meadville, Pa.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert J. Weingartner officiating.

Catherine E. Perks
SPRINGBORO-Mrs. Catherine E. Perks, 90, of Chandler, Ariz., formerly of Springboro, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at the Chandler Regional Hospital. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on April 21, 1909, the daughter of William and Marie (Beavon) Kimpton. Mrs. Perks was an honorary member of the Springboro Lions Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert Perks in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Petticrew, and her husband, Richard, of Chandler, Ariz.; a brother, Marion Kimpton of Vandalia; and two granddaughters of California.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the First United Methodist Church, 60 E. North St., Springboro, with the Rev. Mark Shimer officiating. Burial will be at Bear Creek Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home.

Dora Redding
Dora "Ma Dear" Redding, 65, of Middletown died Friday at Barbara Parke Care Center. "Ma Dear" was born June 12, 1934 in Talladega, Ala. She was preceded in death by her father and sisters. She is survived by her mother, Amanda Pace, of Middletown; one son, Gary Redding, of Middletown; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three brothers, James and George Redding, both of Cleveland, and Lamar Pace, of Middletown, and a host of other relatives and friends
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at the Hall Jordan Memorial Chapel, 918 S. Main St., Middletown, with the Rev. Ronald Ford officiating. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral chapel.

Eugene W. Stine
Eugene W. Stine, 65, of Middletown, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, at the Barbara Parke Care Center. He was formerly employed as a production scheduler for Acres Packaging. Mr. Stine is survived by his mother, Alma (Heid) Stine of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Jeanie Stine of Middletown and Mark and Sharon Stine of Chesapeake, Va.; grandchildren, Kelly Stine of Middletown and Heather and Christopher Stine, both of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jacob and Jean Stine of Eaton, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Emogene Stine of Dayton; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob L. Stine; and a brother, Ray Stine.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dalton Funeral Home, Ohio 4 and Weaver Road, Germantown. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Willard R. Williams
Willard R. Williams, 77, of Garden Manor Extended Care Center, Middletown, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born on May 15, 1922, in Means, Ky., the son of Aude Williams and Rebecca (Barnett) Williams. Mr. Williams was a Navy veteran of World War II and had worked as a heavy equipment engineer. He was a member of Jefferson Lodge, Scottish Rite, Antioch Shriner, Prosser Chapter Ohio Eastern Star, American Legion Post 218 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by four sisters, Mary Cunningham of Tucson, Ariz., Christine Whisman of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., Irene Luttrell of Georgetown, Fla., and Della Ray of Indianapolis, Ind.; 12 nieces; and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille in 1995; a sister, Ruby Bailey; and a brother, Raymond Williams.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carol Oetzel officiating. Burial will take place at Middletown Cemetery. American Legion Post 218 Color Guard will provide military honors at the graveside. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Masonic services conducted at 7:30 p.m.

Elizabeth Younger
Mrs. Elizabeth Younger, 91, of Middletown died Thursday Sept. 9, 1999. She was born in Lexington, Ky. to Hummons and Elizabeth (Jackson) Morton and moved to Middletown in 1910. Elizabeth was preceded in death by husbands Elwood Henderson and Raymond Younger and son James Edward Henderson. She is survived by loving daughter Patricia Henderson Day, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and sister-in-law Rossella Harper, of Middletown; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Eastern Star Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hall Jordan Funeral Home, 918 S. Main St., Middletown. Mary Jane C. Bindley
Mary Jane Cheney Bindley, 90, of Middletown, died Friday, Sept. 3, at her residence. She was born in Dayton on July 30, 1909, the daughter of Howard Leonard and Anna Hostetter Cheney and resided in Franklin from 1915 to 1962. Mrs. Bindley volunteered her time for the Girls Scouts of America, organized the Franklin Girl Scout Council, served on the Establishment Committee for Stoney Brook Girl Scout Camp, the American Red Cross during World War II, and the American Cancer Society. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Middletown Hospital Auxiliary and Middletown Garden Club. Preceding her in death were husband, Edward H. Bindley in 1985; a daughter, Anne Bindley; her step-mother Florence Lund Cheney; and step brother Robert H. Lund. Surviving are two daughters, Aimee Snyder of Middletown and Jane Danforth of Boston, Ma.; stepdaughter Sandra Carlson of Clevland; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 415 N. Main St., Springboro with the Rev. Ken Howard officiating.

James P. Brown
James P. Brown, 63, of Middletown, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Portland, Me., on Dec. 19, 1935, and had lived in this area for more than 40 years. He was an Air Force veteran. Mr. Brown was employed at Black-Clawson for 42 years and retired from his job in the shipping and receiving department in 1997. Among his survivors are his wife of 42 years, Lil Brown; three sons, Johnny Mack Brown, Timothy Wayne Brown and Robert Phillip Brown, all of Middletown; a daughter, Lisa Gaye Smith of Middletown; and seven grandchildren.He was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marion Brown; and a brother, Floyd Brown Sr.

Nancy S. Crow
Mrs. Nancy Sue (Frum) Crow, 48, of Middletown, formerly of Nashville, Tenn., died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999. She was born on April 12, 1951, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to Leonard and Mildred V. (Taylor) Frum. She was working as a training officer for the Ohio State Workers Compensation Bureau for the past 7 1/2 years. She was a graduate of West Virginia State University where she earned a bachelor's and master's degree in education. Mrs. Crow enjoyed writing short stores, cross-stitching and was very fond of animals. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her mother, Mildred V. Frum of Middletown, Ohio; her husband, David H. Crow of Middletown; a stepson, John David Crow, and his wife, Misty, of Lebanon, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Janet Marie Sledge of Nashville; a stepbrother, Robert Frum of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three step grandchildren, Macey Crow, Justin Searcy and Alyson Sledge; two cousins, Robert Ball of Parkersburg, W. Va., and Mildred Pierce of Miami, Fla.; and an aunt, Lana Taylor of Parkersburg.

Bertha F. Gloeckler
Mrs. Bertha F. Gloeckler, 93, of Garden Manor Extended Care Center, died Friday morning, Sept. 3, 1999. She was born in Berea, Ky., on July 26, 1906, the daughter of Palestine Hazelwood and Mary (Haley) Hazelwood. Mrs. Gloeckler was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the bridge club for more than 60 years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rosemary M. Gloeckler of Middletown; two grandsons, Tom, and his wife, Cathy Gloeckler, of Middletown, and Don, and his wife, Linda Gloeckler, of Cincinnati; six great-grandchildren, Craig, Scott, Geoffery, Adam, Stephen and Molly Gloeckler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Gloeckler Jr. in 1984; and her parents.

Arbus E. Gomia
Arbus E. Gomia, 80, of Middletown, died Thursday at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born on March 10, 1919, in Wolfe County, Ky., and was a resident on Middletown for 62 years. She was employed as a gluer at Diamond International where she retired after 38 years of service. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 218. Survivors include two daughters, Bette Whittlesey and husband John of Monroe and Patricia Smith of Middletown; four grandchildren, Stephanie Mackey of Middletown, John Whittlesey, Jr. of Boston, Mass., Brian Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Brad Smith of Middletown; two great-grandchildren, Michael Bush and Cory Bush; a brother, John Carroll of Middletown; three sisters, Sarah Griffith of Barwick, Ky., Dorothy Stidham of Crypton, Ky., and Susie Blair of Hazard, Ky.; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends and loving neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and Coleman Carroll; three brothers, Elmer Carroll, Vaughn Carroll and William Carroll, and a sister, Bessie Mosley.

Effie L. Henson
Effie Lou Henson, 79, formerly of Germantown, Ohio, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Barbara Parke Care Center in Middletown where she had been a resident since 1993. Mrs. Henson was born on Jan. 5, 1920, in Mount Olivet, Ky., to the late William Herbert and Dora Alice (Robinson) Gough. She was a member of the Franklin, Ohio, First Church of Christ. She is survived by five daughters, Elaine (Earnest) Mastin of Franklin, Linda (Joe) Douthett of Punta Gorda, Fla., Ina (Luke) Miller of New Lebanon, Sue (Mike) Matthews of Middletown and Faye (Larry) Hester of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Danny Dale (Toni) Henson of Mount Sterling, Ky.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Velma Gough of Paris, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Marvin "Willie" Henson in 1994; and two sons, William Herbert Henson in 1939 and Don Henson in 1990.

Mrs. Cheryl A. Herald, 51, of 1610 Lamberton St., Middletown, died at her home Friday morning, Sept. 3, 1999. She was born on Oct. 27, 1947, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of George Matthew Radenheimer and Anna Mae (Mitoff) Radenheimer. She was a 1965 graduate of Monroe High School. Mrs. Herald was employed at Crystal Tissue for 25 years. Surviving are her husband, Lloyd Herald; a brother, George Radenheimer; two stepchildren, Greg (wife Robin) Herald of Middletown and Rose Ann Herald of Hazard, Ky.; two step grandchildren, Curtis and Brooklyn; her mother-in-law, Rosalee Herald of Carlisle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pearl and Fay Herald of Alexandria, Ky., Jim and Wanda Colvin of Monroe, Bobby and Ardella Cole of Irvine, Ky., Norma Herald of Middletown, John and Janice Clark of Middletown, James and Tammy Herald of Middletown, Lindsay and Joyce Adams of Somerville and Odell and Helen Gross of Carlisle; many nieces and nephews; her cat, Bubba; and close friend, Jason. Rev. William Makley
Rev. William Robert Makley, 88, a resident of Mount Pleasant Retirement Village in Monroe since March, 1997, and formerly of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999. He was born in New Carlisle, Ohio, on July 10, 1911, to Frank and Emma (Berner) Makley. He was a graduate of Hamma Theological Seminary in Springfield. Rev. Makley began his career with the Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown, then served churches in Toledo and Bellville, Ohio, and finally retired after several years with the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Rev. Makley was instrumental in organizing Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Warren County and served on the board for several years. He also worked with youth through the juvenile court system and he and his wife cared for foster children for more than ten years. His parents and one daughter, Lorna Alace Makley, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lorna F. (March) Makley; a son and daughter-in-law, Luther and Jacquie Makley of Monroe; a daughter and son-in-law, Luanne and Ronald Johns of Montgomery, Texas; and six grandchildren, Db Luther Makley and Ronald Jr., David, Adam, Hannah and Joshua Johns.

Cecil Monhollen
Cecil Monhollen, 79, of Franklin, formerly of Williamsburg, Ky., died Friday evening, Sept. 3, 1999 at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW Post 7596 in Franklin. Mr. Monhollen was a member of Community Baptist Church in Franklin. He is survived by his wife, Mary Owens Monhollen of Franklin; two sons, Jerry C. Monhollen and wife Lavonna of Springboro, and Tony L. Monhollen of Franklin; one granddaughter, Andrea Monhollen of Springboro; two brothers, George Monhollen and wife Eleanor of Tipp City, and Henry Lee Monhollen and wife Martha of Toledo, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry King Monhollen and Malinda Hamblin Monhollen.

Darrell B. Neal
Darrell B. Neal, 43, of 920 Forrer St., Middletown, died Wednesday evening, Sept.1, 1999, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Middletown, Ohio, on Nov. 25, 1955, the son of Jimmy D. Neal and Barbara A. Hall Neal. Mr. Neal had served in the U.S. Army and worked as a plumber for Blashock Plumbing. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 501 and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also an avid bowler and a member of the 700 Club. Mr. Neal is survived by his mother, Barbara A. Neal of Middletown; two daughters, Barbara Neal of Harveysburg and Amanda Neal of Franklin; a grandson, Kyle Johnson; a stepdaughter, Erica King of Franklin; and a step grandson, Cody Mullins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy D. Neal in 1967.

Ursula Swango
Mrs. Ursala Swango, 91, of 799 E. Lehigh Drive, Deltona, Fla., formerly of Middletown, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999. She was born in Frenchburg, Ky., on April 26, 1908, a daughter of Newt and Eva (Kash) Lyons. She lived most of her life in Middletown where she had worked as a department store supervisor. After retiring, she and her husband, Lloyd, moved to Florida in 1979. She loved Gardening. Among her survivors are a son, Forrest Swango of Deltona, Fla.; a sister, Mae Lyons, and two brothers, James Lyons and Shirley Lyons, all of Frenchburg, Ky.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Swango was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 1984.

Louise E. Sweet
Louise E. (Carter) Sweet, beloved wife of the late Carl W. Sweet, devoted mother of H. Elaine Newton of Denver, Colo., and Carolyn Sue Butler of Cincinnati, Ohio and loving grandmother of Laura and Zachary Butler and John and Geoffrey Newton, loving great-grandmother of Scott Newton, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, after a long illness at the age of 81.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. mass Tuesday in the St. William Parish Center Chapel located at the west end of the St. William School parking lot at the corner of Sunset and William Avenues in Price Hill. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Scytha Willhoite
LEBANON-Mrs. Scytha Marie Willhoite, 87, of the Lebanon Otterbein Home and formerly of Blanchester, went home to be with Jesus, Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999. Born Sept. 26, 1911, in Breathitt County, Ky., the daughter of Francis and Mary (Davidson) Thompson, she had lived in the Lebanon area since 1930 and was a member of the Full Gospel Christian Assembly in Blanchester. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Spencer Willhoite in 1966; stepson Glen Willhoite; stepdaughter Edith Dawson; brother Garfield Thompson; sister Parrott Adams; and grandson Paul Elam. She is survived by daughters Bernice Meadows of Blanchester, Ruby (Hedge) Wicker of Lynchburg, Joyce Robertson of South Lebanon, Mary (Elam) Casey and husband Paul of Middletown, and Billie Napier and husband Fred of Lebanon; brother Kelly Thompson of Kentucky; sister Fannie Wells of Kentucky; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 8, at the Full Gospel Church of God, Deerfield Road, Lebanon, with the Rev. Larry Isaacs and Rev. Estel Hall officiating. Raymond H. Willis
Raymond H. Willis, 78, formerly of Trenton, died Saturday morning at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center. He had worked at Armco for 46 years, retiring in 1982, as a machinist. Mr. Willis was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lincoln Lodge No. 693 F.&A.M. He would have received his 50-year pin this fall. He also was a member of the Trenton Lions Club. He served on Trenton City Council for 26 years and had also served as vice mayor. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jane Willis, in 1989. He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Boal of Middletown; a brother, Richard W. Willis, of Middletown; a sister, Dorothy Kelley, of Trenton; and a grandson, Jordan Michael Boal.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miltonville Cemetery with John T. Cheetham officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Robert G. Yost
Robert G. (The Coze) Yost, 72, of 2706 Flemming Road, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at the residence he maintained in Sarasota, Fla. He was born July 16, 1927, in Reading, Pa., the son of George E. and Isabel K. Yost and moved to Middletown with his family in 1934. A graduate of Middletown High School, he served in the Army and returned to Middletown where he was employed by Armco. During his lengthy career with Armco he worked in the Sales and Claims Department where he retired in 1990 as Supervisor of Pricing. Mr. Yost was an avid golfer and a member of Wildwood Golf Club for over 30 years where he served on the Board of Directors in the mid to late 1970s. He was also a member of the Elks. He is survived by his wife Gail (McKeehan) Yost; a brother James (Jeri) Yost; a sister-in-law Joyce Yost of Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Brian Yost of Charlottesville, Va., three daughters, Ellen (Sam) Nelson; Shelly (Chuck) Rouster, both of Middletown; and Becky (John) Mirlesena of Cincinnati; three stepdaughters, Suzanne and Coree Werk of Denver, Co., and Leslie (Darrell) Markijohn of Canton; 11 grandchildren, Stacy Marcum Faulkner, Emily and Sara Nelson, Lori VanWinkle, Pete and Ali Rouster, all of Middletown, Jack Yost of Charlottesville, Va., Amy and Anna Mirlisena of Cincinnati, and Katie and Christopher Markijohn, of Canton; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Yost was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard Yost, and his father and mother-in-law Walter and Eunice McKeehan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rob Weingartner officiating.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wildwood Golf Course Foundation Trust, care of Wildwood Golf Course, 601 Aberdeen Drive, Middletown. Arrangements are being handled by Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home
