Robert Howard Foskuhl
Robert Howard Foskuhl, 84, of Beavercreek, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 9, at the Hospice of Dayton after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy R. (Wright) Foskuhl; three daughters, Lynne Hook, of Beavercreek, Susan Baker, of Beavercreek, and Sharon Todd, of Minneapolis; a sister, Dorothy Schumaker, of Miamisburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. He was also retired from the Beavercreek School System. He was a member of Kirkmont Presbyterian Church in Beavercreek and the Harveysburg Masonic Lodge. Memorial services were held Sunday, July 13, at the Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek, with the Rev. Eric J. Laverentz officiating. Interment followed the services at Beechwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, Ohio, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

Max S. Byrd
Max S. Byrd, 60, of Liberty, Ind., died early Thursday morning, July 17, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. He was born on June 26, 1943 in Connersville, Ind. to Lucian and Charlene Schiedler Byrd. He had lived in the Union County area all his life. He farmed in Union County and also served as a consultant for the Union County Area Planning Commission. He was owner and operator of L.S. Byrd and Son Construction, in Liberty, and a member of the Christ Presbyterian Church, in Richmond, Ind., as well as a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Judy Roberts Byrd, of Liberty, Ind.; a son and daughter-in-law, M. Douglas and Tabitha Byrd, of Liberty, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Byrd and Dale Partridge, of U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jayne Byrd and Brian Giesler, of Lafayette, Ind.; his father, Lucian Byrd, of Liberty, Ind.; five brothers, John Byrd, Larry Gene Byrd and Edward Byrd, all of Liberty, Ind., Tom Byrd, of Georgetown, Ky. and Joe Byrd, of West College Corner, Ind.; three sisters, Kathy Miller and Cindy Sellers, both of Richmond, Ind. and Pat Brewer, of Greenfield, Ind.; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Byrd, and an infant sister, Jayne Ellen Byrd. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 21, at the Christ Presbyterian Church, in Richmond, Ind., with pastor Tom Stein officiating. Burial followed in Richland Cemetery, in Union County, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent's Hospital Cardiac Transplant Unit in his memory. Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty, Ind., handled the arrangements.

Ronald W. Kuhlman
Ronald W. (Ron) Kuhlman, 54, of Hanover Township, died at his residence. He was born in Cincinnati on May 21, 1949 the son of William A. and Evelyn (Klein) Kuhlman. He was a 1967 graduate of Talawanda High School. He had a special fondness for planting and nurturing trees on his property. He loved to read and learn about a vast array of subjects and had a great mechanical ability. He loved to fly and had soloed and was working toward his private pilot's license. He began his working career in farming and then changed his career, becoming a heavy equipment operator working for Ford Development Co., Sharonville. He is survived by his parents, William and Evelyn Kuhlman, of Hanover Township; his sister, Karen B. Kuhlman, of Liberty Township; two brothers, William R. Kuhlman, of Oxford, and James E. Kuhlman and wife, Andrea, of Hanover Township; two nieces, Kristine and Courtney Kuhlman, and other family members and friends. A memorial service was held yesterday at the Weigel Funeral Home with the Rev. Edwin Beck officiating. Burial was in Arlington Memorial Gardens, Mt. Healthy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the McGonigle-Millville United Methodist Church, 2370 Lanes Mill Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45013; Talawanda High School FFA Chapter, in care of Dan Zimmerman, 131 West Chestnut Street, Oxford, Ohio 45056; or to the charity of one's choice.

Howard J. Stover
Howard J. (Jess) Stover, 58, of Somerville, died suddenly on July 18. he was born Sept. 15, 1944 in Fountain City, Ind., the son of Fred and Evelyn (Hubdle) Stover. On Oct. 10, 1964 he married Flornadia Fields and they renewed their vows to each other on Dec. 18, 1990. He worked for many years in auto sales, most recently as owner of F & E Auto Sales, Inc. He was a member of the College Corner Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club of Fountain City, Ind. He is survived by his wife, Flornadia Stover, of Somerville; three children, Evelyn (Robert) Yeakle, of Darrtown, Howard J. (Mary) Stover, Jr., of Kentucky, and Kristen Combs, of Hamilton; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 brothers and sisters, Bob Stover, Raymond Stover, Vernie Stover, Ty Stover, Terry Stover, Tim Stover, Stanley Stover, Sylvia Ervin, Sue Scott and Madalyn Day and many friends in the College Corner, Ind., Liberty, Ind., Richmond, Ind. and Oxford areas. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Edward, William and John. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford. Burial was in the Darrtown Cemetery.

James N. McCoy
James N. McCoy, 69, died Sunday, July 20, at Fort Hamilton Hughes Hospital, Hospice unit. He was born Jan. 19, 1934 in Cincinnati, the son of Nelson and Flora (Hayes) McCoy. He loved to be outdoors, whether it was fishing, motorcycling or just enjoying the view. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Benn and Josephine Siebel, both of Cincinnati; a son, Philip (Karen) McCoy; a daughter, Joanne (Douglas) Perry; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Jean Blair and Phyllis Todd; and brother, Denny McCoy. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Calvary Chapel, 986 Nordyke Road, Cincinnati. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
