Ellsworth P. Kohli, 85, Beaverdam, died Aug. 15, 1999 at Richland Manor in Beaverdam. He was born July 1, 1914 in Lima to Theodore and Lena (Swick) Kohli. On Feb. 18, 1939 he married Ruth I. Elwood and she survives in Lima. Survivors also include two sons, Ellsworth (Paula) Kohli Jr. of Canada and Ronald (Judy) Kohli of Alger; two daughters, Lena (Ivan) Verhoff of Columbus Grove and Linda (Craig) Rone of Lima; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, six brothers and three sisters. Mr. Kohli was a retired farmer and Brown Swiss dairyman. Services will be held today, Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 3 p.m. at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Ottawa, with the Rev. Gary Hohman officiating. Burial will be in Rockport Cemetery in Rockport, Ohio. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home in Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Ruth MacBean Benson, 95, formerly of Ada, died Aug. 10, 1999, in Livonia, New York. She was born Feb. 11, 1904, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Hector W. and Harriet Carr MacBean. In 1934, she married Gordon K. Benson, Sr., who died in 1979. Upon his death, she moved to Ada where she made her home for 10 years with her son David J. Benson, also formerly of Ada. Survivors include a daughter, Elinor (Keith) Tyler of Livonia, N.Y.; two sons, Peter (Sydney) Benson of Medina and David (Dena) Benson of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gordon K. Benson, Jr., and one granddaughter. Mrs. Benson graduated from Syracuse University and served for many years as the secretary of the United Church of Canandaigua, N.Y. While in Ada, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Ada Branch of the American Association of University Women. Funeral arrangements are being made by Kennedy and Sons Funeral Home, Canandaigua, N.Y. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua.

Harriet A. Bowdle, 92, Waynesfield, died Aug. 15, 1999 at Richland Manor Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 24, 1906, in Lima to George and Zelpha Stoner Muntis. On Aug. 29, 1928, she married John T. Bowdle, who died June 9, 1970. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including James Long of Ada and Theresa Kramer. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Tschanz and Margaret Long. There will be no services. The body has been cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Lillian P. Shafer, 80, Lafayette, died Aug. 10, 1999 at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton. She was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Springfield, Mass., to George W. and Lillian A. McCalligott Kimmel. Survivors include three sons, Paul J. (Samantha) Shafer Jr. of Ottawa, Phillip G. (Cathy) Shafer of Lima and Christopher L. (Lucinda) Shafer of Lafayette; three daughters, Julienne (Roland John) Burkhart of Pandora, Melissa K. Shafer Jennison of Lima and Rebecca Jane (Kevin) Plaugher of Harrod; a brother, William R. Kimmel of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Leslie Kimmel. Ms. Shafer was a live-in nurse's aide. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lafayette, and was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital for several years. Services were held Aug. 13 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lafayette, with the Rev. Ronald Diemer officiating. Burial was in Fisher Cemetery, Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Lafayette.

Ralph VanHoose, 71, Ada, died Aug. 23, 1999 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1928, in Wayland, Ky. to Nathan and Nanny (Conley) VanHoose. Survivors include one son, Tony VanHoose of McGuffey; one brother, Harrison (Linda) VanHoose of Lakeview; two sisters, Ethel Watkins of Ada and Betty (Dale) McGinnis of Galion; two grandchildren, Misty and Jason VanHoose; and one great-grandchild, Alyssa Miller. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby VanHoose; and three sisters, Pauline Phillips, Blanche Collins and Mary "Mag" Burkett. Mr. VanHoose was a 20 year U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of the U.S. Army Reserves and a life time member of the Ada VFW Post #9381. He also worked at Clark Equipment in Lima. Services were held this morning, Aug. 25 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Dick Parker officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger. A memorial service was conducted by Ada VFW Post #9381. Graveside Military services were held by the Ohio National Guard of Lima. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Waldo Clark Stober, 78, Pennsylvania, formerly of Ada, died Aug. 16, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Ada, to Arthur and Mila Stober. He lived in Lower Frederick, Pa., He was formerly a Shiloh resident. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Meck Stober; a daughter, Karen Kay (William) Krupp; a son, Kevin Clark (Patricia) Stober; a sister, Grace Dawson of Plymouth; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Doyt Stober. Mr. Stober was a service technician at Sears and Roebuck in Pottstown, Pa., for 33 years. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard in World War II where he was a motor machinist's mate first class. He was a long time member of Heidelberg U.C.C. of Schwenksville. Other memberships include the American Legion Post 203 of Schwenksville, a 32nd degree Mason with Shiloh Lodge of Ohio, and a member of Lehigh Consistory. In addition, he was a member of the Family Motorhome Club of America, the Pikeville Rod and Gun Club, the lower Frederick Fire Company and a 50-year member of the Schwenksville Fire Company. His hobby was collecting old farm tractors. Visitation and services were held at Williams Funeral Home in Worcester, Pa. The Rev. David Clemens officiated. Burial was in the Schwenksville, Pa., Cemetery.

William Clark "Bud" Foster, 85, Findlay, died Aug. 16, 1999 at the Emergency Room at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay Campus. He was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Findlay, to Marion G. and Mary M. (Duffield) Foster. Survivors include a sister, M. Margaret Foster of Findlay. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marion George Foster, Jr. Mr. Foster was a retired attorney at law, having practiced law in Findlay from 1941 to 1997. He was a member of the Findlay B.P.O. Elks #75, the Findlay-Hancock Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Mr. Foster was a 1941 graduate of the Claude W. Pettit Law School at Ohio Northern University where he was a member of the "Willis Society" which recognizes high scholastic achievement. Services were held Aug. 19 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home of Findlay, with the Rev. Lowell Reeder officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.

David W. "Bill" Bassitt, 59, Findlay, died Aug. 19, 1999 at his residence. He was born Oct. 20, 1939 in Lima to Robert and Catherine (Musser) Bassitt. On Dec. 28, 1963, he married Margie Marshall Lawhead, and she survives. Survivors also include a son, Mark Bassitt of Findlay; two daughters, Suzy (Tim) Evans of Findlay, and Sheila (Jeffry) Patterson of San Fransisco, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Bassitt of Toledo and Mike Bassitt of Lima; five sisters, Carol (Don) Williams of Lima, Pat (George) Miller and Mary (Tom) Gerdeman, both of Columbus Grove, and Linda (Gerald) Dearth of Ada; and five grandchildren. Mr. Bassitt retired as a corporate photographer for Marathon Oil Company in 1994. He was a former photographer and writer for the Lima News. He was active with Boy Scouts of America, a member of U.C.O.A. and was a 1957 graduate of Lima Senior High School. Mr. Bassitt was a U.S. Army veteran. Services were held Aug. 24 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home with the Rev. Ruth Solo officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to U.C.O.A., Bridge Home Heath and Hospice, or Cancer Patient Services.

Frank R. Brace, 75, Ada, died Aug. 21, 1999, in an auto accident near Lima. He was born April 20, 1924 in Franklin County. He was adopted by Roy C. and Hattie Bell (Eckenrode) Brace. On June 22, 1950, he married Avanell Kindle in Ada. She survives in Ada. Survivors include one son, Dr. Steven (Carole) Brace of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one daughter, Laura (Gary) Mullins of Ada; three grandchildren, Mike and Katherine Brace, and Emily Jo Mullins; and one sister, Ida Cowdery of Pomroy. He was preceded in death by a foster brother, Bob Brace; and three sisters, Emma, Gladys and Marie. Mr. Brace had worked for the railroad as a passenger agent for 30 years. He began this career in 1948 in Valparaiso, Ind. In 1952 he was transferred to Dunkirk, and then to the Ada Depot until it closed. He then worked in Lima and Fort Wayne, Ind. Mr. Brace served in World War II in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946. He was recalled in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #185 of Ada, a life member of the V.F.W. Post 9381 in Ada, and was a former member of the Ada Masonic Lodge #344, F. and A.M. He was a graduate of Ada High School in 1942. He also graduated from Northwestern Business College of Lima. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Ada, a member of the Ada Lions Club, having held many offices, and was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of Ada. He was an agent for the Lima News in Ada for 34 years. He was owner and manger of the Brace Apartments of Ada for several years. Services were held this morning, Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Ada, with Pastor Jack Duffy and Pastor Gerbert Darlington officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Graveside military services were conducted by the Ada American Legion and the Ada V.F.W post. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Hardin County Unit and/or The Seeing Eye Dog Program with the Lions Club.

Eldon V. Decker, 84, Ada, died Aug. 30, 1999 at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton. He was born Sept. 23, 1914, in Kenton, to Vol and Josephine (Switzer) Decker. He married Ruth Rainsburg, and she died July 13, 1982; he then married M. Imogene Long and she died Dec. 26, 1986. On Aug. 23, 1987, he married Pauline (Moore) Ludwig, and she survives in Ada. Survivors also include two daughters, Betty Fisher and Pat (Jack) Fancher, both of Ada; two stepsons, R. Greg (Ella) Long of Atlanta, Ga., and Russell (Judi) Ludwig of Dunkirk; three stepdaughters, Jackie (Richard) Ackerman, Joan (Myron) Owen and Jan (Glen) Williams, all of Lafayette; one sister, Doris Newman of Kenton; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Holland; and two sisters, Lula Decker and Rema Decker. Mr. Decker was a farmer. He attended Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada. He was a member for several years of the Liberty Grange of Ada, a member of the Farm Bureau Council #31 of Hardin County, a former member of the Ada Farmers Exchange Board, and was a Liberty Township trustee for several years. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Laura Raypholtz-Clark officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Visiting hours include Wednesday from 2­4 and 6­8 p.m. and until time of services on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Hardin County Unit.

Flossie L. Henry, 90, Ada, died Aug. 29, 1999 at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton. She was born June 16, 1909, in Bluffton, to William and Cecilia (Wilkins) Hartman. On June 1, 1929, she married Leonard H. Henry, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1994. Survivors include two sons, Delbert (JoAnn) Henry and Harold (Clarice) Henry, both of Ada; two daughters, Twila (Robert) Wagner and Edith (Robert) Daft, both of Ada; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Wagner; a great-granddaughter, Kelli Lynn Chaney; six brothers; and four sisters. Mrs. Henry was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ of Ada, a member of the Bethel Ladies Aid, and a past member of the Ada Garden Club. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Bethel Church of Christ, Ada, with Pastor David Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Hasson Cemetery, Jenera. Friends may call 2­4 and 6­8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Ada and one hour prior to the services at the Bethel Church of Christ on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Bethel Church of Christ, Ada.

Leonard L. Wilson, 70, Ada, died Aug. 27, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born April 11, 1929, in Pandora, to Francis and Ella (Mann) Wilson. He married Clarabelle Shipp and she survives. Survivors also include one son, Leonard (Jan) Wilson of Lima; two daughters, Ruby (Mike) Allgire of Columbus Grove and Becky (Steve) Creps of Lima; two brothers, Levi Wilson of Flat Rock, Mich., and William Wilson of Piqua; three sisters, Barb (Harold) Crotinger and Ann Van Pelt, both of Piqua, and Shirley Hazelton of Ottawa; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Asa Wilson; three sisters, Clara Amstutz, Goldame Bragenzer and Arnetta James; and one grandchild. Mr. Wilson was retired from Airfoil Textron, Lima, where he was a machinist. Services were held Aug. 31 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton Chapel, with the Rev. John Amstutz. Burial was in Hasson Cemetery, Van Buren-Orange Townships. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Harold W. Smith, 84, Kenton, died Aug. 22, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton. He was born March 23, 1915, in LaRue, to Clarence I. and Meda (Shark) Smith. On May 6, 1936, in Newporte, Ky., he married Gladys Daum, who survives. Survivors also include two daughters, Sharon (Donald E.) Anspaugh of Marion and Sue Ann (Richard) Eriksson of Garland, Texas; one brother, Richard (Eloise) of Kenton; one sister, Helen Perry of Ada; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Mr. Smith was retired from Swift Ohio in Kenton. He was past president of the Lions Club in Kenton and was active in the Neighborhood Opportunity Center. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Services were held Aug. 25 at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home, Kenton, with the Rev. Michael Raypholtz. Burial was in Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.

Noah S. "Sam" Spearman, 72, died Sept. 3, 1999 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Hardin County, to George and Naomi Yauger Spearman. In 1947, he married Joan Delong, who survives. Survivors also include a son, David S. (Martha ) Spearman of Dublin; a daughter, Linda (John) Knell of Perry; three sisters, Mildred Guckes and Martha Sheldon, both of Dunkirk, and Ruth Whitney of Alma, Mich.; and six grandchildren. Mr. Spearman retired as an assistant manager and aircraft mechanic from Hancor. He was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Merchant Marines and Army Air Corps. He was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1196 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3333, both in Kenton. Services were held this morning, Sept. 8 at Price Funeral Home, Kenton, with the Rev. Thomas Hite officiating. Burial was in Dunkirk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.

Steven M. Scott, 38, Lima, died Sept. 5, 1999 at his residence. He was born Feb. 13, 1961, in Lima to Steven and Dixie Hinson Scott Jr. His mother survives. On June 11, 1988, he married Julie A. Strayer, who survives. Survivors also include a daughter, Megan R. Scott, at home; a brother, Darren Scott of Alger; a sister, Diana L. Leedom of Lima; and his maternal grandmother, Ruth Hinson of Bradenton, Fla. Mr. Scott worked in maintenance at National Lime and Stone, Lima, since July 1983. He attended Salem Mennonite Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Street Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, The Rev. Mel Hathaway will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society.

Ralph M. Smith, 81, Findlay, formerly of Lima, died Sept. 1, 1999 at Winebrenner Village in Findlay. He was born Feb. 27, 1918, in Van Wert to Arthur A. and Elizabeth Meredith Smith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vonna Comer who died in 1978, and then by his second wife, Thelma L. Clark, who died Sept. 20, 1986. Survivors include one son, Larry (Laura) Smith of Harrod; one daughter, Kathy (Harold) Dawson of Lima; two stepsons, Gary Stephens and Jeffery Stephens, both of Findlay; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Naus; and a brother, Robert Smith. Mr. Smith was self employed as a paint contractor (Smith Painting) from 1946-1983. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Chapter 205 and the Sertoma Club, both of Lima, the Howard United Methodist Church of Findlay, and a former member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Lima. He had played Santa Claus for 25 years at the Lincoln School. Services were held Sept. 4 at Howard United Methodist Church, Findlay, with the Rev. Wayne Geissinger officiating. Burial was Sept. 7 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Memorial contributions may be made to Howard United Methodist Church.

Marjorie E. Gaiffe, 89, Toledo, died Sept. 1, 1999 at Briarfield at Glanzman Nursing Home. She was the widow of Walter Gaiffe who died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Lou (Donald) Waite and Bette Jean (Elmer) Horvath, both of Toledo; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Opal Anspach of Ada. Mrs. Gaiffe worked at the former Prestolite Co., as a supervisor for 36 years, retiring in 1970. Services were held Sept. 4. Interment was in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Northwest Ohio Hospice Association.

Milton Woodrow Hoover, 67, Columbus Grove, died Sept. 5, 1999 at his residence. He was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Delphos to Howard and Levina Baber Hoover. On Dec. 8, 1979, he married Deloris Jean Gehrig, who survives. Survivors also include three sons, Bruce (Sheila) Hoover of Columbus and James Morrison and Ronald Morrison, both of Lima; seven daughters, Cathi (Jeff) Moss of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Chris (Jerry) Wise, Becky (Joseph) Van Artsdalen, Karen DePoy and Nancy Stanton, all of Columbus, Barb (Wallace) Howard of Harrod and Lauren Wood of Dayton; a brother, Melvin Hoover of Marietta; two sisters, Louise Fair of Delphos and Kate White of Van Wert; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Benjamin Hoover. Mr. Hoover retired as a master plumber. He worked part-time for Gast Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of Bower-Slusser Post 516 of the American Legion, Columbus Grove, and a Marine Corps veteran. Services were held Sept. 7 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, with the Rev. Bert C. Ambrose II officiating. There was no visitation. The remains have been cremated.

Adam Allen, 77, Alger, died Sept. 13, 1999 at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima. He was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Grove, Okla., to Hayden and Cynthia (Waddle) Allen. He was formerly married to Marie Nichols, and she survives in Alger. Survivors also include one son, Raymond (Linda) Allen of Westminster; three daughters, Linda (Pete) Pedersen of Ada, Barbara (Walter) Molands of Alger, and Judi (Gary) Bradley of Kenton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patsy (Buster) Nichols of Lima. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom, Harvey, Jimmy, Roger and Green Allen; and two sisters, Eva Thurman and Mary Evadean Neeley. Mr. Allen was a carpenter, retiring in 1986 from Reese Construction Company and Harpers Construction Company of Napoleon. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 372 of Lima. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, having served in Normandy where he was an ambulance driver. He was a life member of VFW Post 1275 of Lima. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, with the Rev. George Pirtle officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2­4 and 6­8 p.m. and until time of service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice of Lima.

Benjamin J. Page Jr., 71, Lima, died Sept. 11, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born May 31, 1928, in Lima to Benjamin and Josephine Zarro Page. Survivors include three sons, Randy (Kim) Page of Alger, Kevin (Vicki) Page of Columbus, and Michael Page of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Kelly (Ray) Hopkins of Alger; and three grandchildren, A.J. Allen, Codey Allen and Zachary Page. He was preceded in death by a brother, Orlando Page; and three sisters, Matilda Page, Rosemary Welker and Sadie Haff. Mr. Page retired in 1989 from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He received a Purple U.N. Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster and a Korean Service Medal with four bronze stars. Services were held Sept. 14 at Gethsemani Cemetery, with Chaplain Dick Coon officiating. Military rites were held by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.

Arthur C. "A.C." Rohrs, 79, Hamler, died Sept. 5, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born March 27, 1920, in Hamler, to William and Anna (Wildung) Rohrs. On Aug. 17, 1941, he married Christine Arps, who survives. Survivors also include family from this area, sons, Donald of McGuffey and John of Alger. Preceding him in death were one son, two brothers, and two sisters. He was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 1985, and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler, where he served as an elder, trustee and treasurer. He was also a member of the Ohio Cattlemen's Association in Henry and Fulton counties. Services were held Sept. 8 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler, by the Rev. David B. Koenig. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church organ and building fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Noah S. "Sam" Spearman, 72, Kenton, died Sept. 3, 1999 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Hardin County, to George and Naomi (Yauger) Spearman. In 1947, he married Joan Delong, who survives. Survivors also include family from this area, sisters, Mildred Guckes and Martha Sheldon, both of Dunkirk. Mr. Spearman was retired from Hancor as an assistant manager and was an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1196 of Kenton and VFW Post 3333. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Merchant Marines and the Army Air Corps. Services were held Sept. 8 at Price Funeral Home, Kenton, by the Rev. Thomas Hite. Burial was in Dunkirk Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.

Gregg P. Hottman, 47, Kenton, died Sept. 8, 1999 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. He was born Oct. 27, 1951, in Kenton to Elwood and Barbara Liming Hottman. His mother survives in Kenton. Mr. Hottman was a graduate of Kenton High School and a 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University. Survivors also include from this area, a sister, Ellen Glover of Dola. Services were held Sept. 10 at Price Funeral Home, Kenton. Burial was in Grove Cemetery, Kenton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hardin County Cancer Society.

Edward B. "Eddie" McDaniel, 50, Bluffton, died Sept. 5, 1999. He was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Arthur and Evelyn (Sizemore) McDaniel. His father preceded him in death April 8, 1994, while his mother and stepfather, Norman Cruson, survive in Lima. On Aug. 29, 1966, he married Kathryn N. Hadding, who survives. Survivors also include three sons, Jessie (Jodi) of Ada, and Kirk and Jeffrey, both of Bluffton; one daughter, Evelyn (Scott) Cameron of Bluffton; five brothers, Randy, Mike (Tonda) and Danny (Lisa), all of Lima, Fred (Jeanine) of Wapakoneta and Terry (Catherine) of Ada; two sisters, Judi (Dwaine Golden) Pulfer of Wapakoneta and Brenda (Steve) Hawk of Rome, Ga.; one half brother, Clayton of Lima; one half sister, Geraldine (Tom) Hatfield of Middlesboro, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky, on Nov. 17, 1985. Mr. McDaniel was the owner of McDaniel Brothers Construction and was a member of the Abundant Life Temple. He had been a truck driver for Gulf Distributors, a treating engineer for Republic Creosoting and had worked for Norfolk and Southern Railroad. Services were held Sept. 8 at Bayliff and Sons Funeral Home, Cridersville, by the Rev. John L. Miller. Burial was in Shawnee Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Abundant Life Temple.

Olive Morgan, 89, Dunkirk, died Sept. 10, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton. She was born June 5, 1910, in Hancock County to Harry and Edna Pugh Blem. In July 1928 she married Samuel Roy Morgan, who died in June 1954. Survivors include a daughter, Ellen (Jess) Hipsher of Dunkirk; two grandsons, four great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Mrs. Morgan retired from Oldeckers, Dunkirk, and retired in 1997 as treasurer for the city of Dunkirk after 40 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, its Ladies Fellowship and Dunkirk Chapter 37 Order of Eastern Star. Services were held Sept. 13 at Price Funeral Home, Dunkirk, with the Rev. Linda Stafford officiating. Burial was in Dunkirk Cemetery.
