Frances E. Barnes, 99, Port Clinton, died Sept. 8, 1999 at Riverview Nursing Home, Oak Harbor, Ohio, where she had been a resident since June of this year. She was born April 27, 1900 in Brazil, Ind. to William and Mary Jane (Hoffman) Elwell. In 1921, she married John Sneary, and he preceded her in death in 1943. In 1945 she married Clarence Barnes, and he preceded her in death in 1960. Survivors include one son, Richard W. Sneary of Port Clinton; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (Sneary) Taylor. Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker, and a member of the Christian Church in Harrod. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, Port Clinton Lodge #1610, and the Lima VFW Auxiliary. There was no visitation or service. Burial was private.

George A. Helton, 66, Alger, died Sept. 13, 1999 at his residence. He was born July 27, 1933 in Johnson County, Ky., to Charlie and Louise (Jackson) (Spears) Helton. His stepmother, Ivory Helton, survives in Alger. On Jan. 24, 1957, he married Stella Mullins, and she survives in Alger. Survivors also include a son, Douglas R. Helton of Westminster; two daughters, Peggy Sue Wireman of Harrod, and Dianna Dee Yoakam of St. Thomas, Pa.; one brother, Don Helton of Columbia City, Ind.; one sister, Velcie Daniel of Alger; five grandchildren, Donna Howard, April Yoakam, Andrea Helton, Daniel Helton and Danielle Helton; eight half brothers, Beryl Helton, Franklin D. Helton, J.B. Helton, Charles E. Helton, Melvin Helton, Doyal Helton, Will Spears and Jerry Spears; and six half sisters, Joann Rhodes, Joy Martin, Judy Weller, Janet Sexton, Garnet Lehner and Lucy Gray. Mr. Helton was a retired laborer from Bluffton Pre Cast. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Kentucky, Chapter OH8, and a member of the American Bowling Congress and Ada Merchants Bowling League. Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, with Lloyd Salyer officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Visiting hours will be held until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Dayton Veterans Hospital.

Peggy J. Smith, 70, of Ada, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born August 25, 1929 in Ada to Stewart and Eve Thompson Main, both deceased. She married Carl Smith Jr., who is also deceased. Survivors include one son, Bruce Smith of Ada; one daughter, Pam (William E.) Lude of Columbus; and one granddaughter, Sarah Lude of Columbus. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Bob and Stanley Main and two sisters, Mildred Parshall and Pauline Gobin. Mrs. Smith taught elementary education for 30 years in Ada and the surrounding districts. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ada, a member of the Ada Garden Club and a member of Ohio Northern University Alumni. Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with the Rev. Wayne Albertson officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Public Library.

Agnes M. Robisch, 68, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., formerly of Narrowsburg, N.Y. died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999. She was born in Marion to Albert and Geneva Garver and she was raised in Ada. She graduated from Ada High School in 1949. She married Edwin J. Robisch Jr. on December 30, 1951. Her former husband survives in Olcott, N.Y. Survivors also include two sons, Blake (Maryann) Robisch of Hyde Park, N.Y. and Spencer Robisch of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; four daughters, Tina Witson of Newman, Ga., Jacqueline (William) Harnish of Loganville, Ga, Felicia (Daniel) Salvatore of Poughkeepsie and Jodi Robisch of Highland, N.Y.; 14 granchildren; three brothers, Albert "Bud" Garver, Jr., Clarence Garver and Morgan Garver; and one sister, Irene Richendollar; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Garver and three sisters, Donnabelle Stinehelfer, Betty Schultz and Shirley Garver. Mrs. Robisch was a member of the Hopewell Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was proud to dedicate her life as a pioneer of her faith. Agnes was a spiritual example to all of the members of the congregation to which she belonged. She graciously opened her home to friends, family and those in need. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 18 at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., Hopewell Junction, N.Y. A memorial was held at the Kingdom Hall, All Angels Hill Road on Sunday, Sept. 19. N. Allen "Al" Rausch, 46, of Jenera, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999 at his home. He was born Nov. 18, 1952 in Bluffton to Harold P. and Helen Searson Rausch. His mother survives in Van Buren Township. On June 20, 1971, he married Edna M. Norbeck and she survives. Survivors also include one son, Norman Allen Rausch II of Jenera; one daughter, Stephanie Lynn Rausch of Toledo; two brothers, Paul E. Rausch of Martinsburg, W.V. and John C. Rausch of Wapakoneta; and two sisters, Barbara (Frank) Roidt of Jenera and Sarah Jane Kelly of Bluffton. He was preceded in death by one son, Ernest James Rausch and one brother, William H. Rausch. Mr. Rausch was a farmer. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera and a 1970 graduate of Ada High School. Services were held this morning at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, with the Rev. Alois Schmitzer III and the Rev. Philip M. Henning officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Van Buren Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 425 Frazer St., Findlay, Ohio 45840.

The Rev. Cloyd Bishop, 78 of Montezuma, Iowa, formerly of Wapakoneta, died Aug. 21, 1999, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell, Iowa. He was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Upper Sandusky to Henry Cloyd Clay and Reba Mae Fox Bishop. On Dec. 27, 1940, he married Rachel Lucile Stretton, who survives in Montezuma, Iowa. Survivors also include an area survivor, brother, Loyd Bishop of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother. Rev. Bishop served as a minister in several churches in Iowa and had worked at Lima Locomotive Works. He attended seminaries at Olivett Nazarene College, Columbia Bible College, Morningside College, Garrett Seminary and the University of Dubuque Seminary. He had been a Boy Scout master and was an Army veteran of World War II. Services were held in August in Iowa. Burial was in Green Mountain Cemetery, Green Mountain, Iowa. Memorial may be made to a memorial fund established in his name.

Cecil E. Young, 83, Jenera, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Winebrenner Health Care Center, Findlay. He was born Sept. 4, 1916 in Steel, Ohio to Charles and Ivy Craig Young. On Dec. 28, 1947, he married Frances M. Bower and she survives. Also surviving is an area survivor, daughter, Barbara (Gerald) Hastings of Dunkirk. He was preceded in death by one brother. Mr. Young was retired from the National Lime and Stone Co. of Findlay, and was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Church, Van Buren Township. Services were held Monday, Sept. 20 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Van Buren Township, Hancock County, by the Rev. Dr. John Stroup. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 425 Frazier St., Findlay; Winebrenner Village or to the Gideon Society.

Ethel M. Stauffer, 93, Ada, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999 at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton. She was born Dec. 24, 1905 in Allen County to Grover and Maude Mertz Long. On December 23, 1922, she married Russell Lee Stauffer who died Nov. 17, 1984. Survivors include two sons, Russell J. (Peggy) Stauffer of Vilano Beach, Fla. and Robert J. (Doris) Stauffer of Palmdale, Calif.; one daughter, Betty (Donavin) Dunbar of Ada; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Dufilho of Bowsher City, La. and Margaret Butler of Belot. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Donavin Dunbar Jr. and a sister. Mrs. Stauffer was a telephone operator for the United Telephone Company for 20 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ada and a member of Ada Senior Citizens. There will be no services at her request and no visitation as the body has been cremated. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ada.

Jackie H. Hubbard, 81, Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Ada, died Sept. 26, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton. She was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Auxier, Ky., to Leander and Lucy (Music) Hopson. She married James Napier and later married Jack Hubbard. Both are deceased. Survivors include two granddaughters, Suzanne N. Meyer of Sarasota, Fla., and Jane A. Napier of Ada. She was preceded in death by one son, James Napier; one daughter-in-law, Julia Napier; one brother, Ernest Hopson Sr.; and three sisters, an infant sister, Ossie Morrison and Onieda Harmon. Mrs. Hubbard was formerly employed at Wilson Sporting Goods of Ada for several years. She also worked as a beautician. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Sarasota, Fla. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Visiting hours will be from 6­8 p.m. on Wednesday and until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ada Church of Christ (Disciples).

Lewis E. Kaiser, 74, Alger, died Sept. 21, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born April 3, 1925, in New Hampshire, Ohio, to Victor and Madonna (Campbell) Kaiser. On Dec. 5, 1948, he married Marie Thompson, and she survives in Alger. Survivors also include three sons, Kenneth (Mary Ann) Kaiser of Hopkinsville, Ky., Rodney (Carol) Kaiser of Bradford, and Dwaine (Kathleen) Kaiser of Alger; one daughter, Cheryl (Pete) Lowe of Lima; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne (Phyllis) Kaiser and Ross Kaiser, both of Harrod; and three sisters, Edith "Dodie" Eusler of Lima, Marilyn (Ronnie) Whitaker of Knotts Corner, S.C., and Clara Ann (Wally) Welch of Lima. He was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline, Evelyn, Shirley, Phyllis and Norita Kaiser. Mr. Kaiser was a farmer who also owned and operated Kaiser TV in both Ada and Alger. He was an associate of Jehovah's Witnesses, veteran of the U. S. Navy, life member of Ada VFW Post 9381, member of the Musicians Union of Lima, and former member of the Alger-Upper Scioto Valley Lions Club. Services were held Sept. 25 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger with Elder William E. Perry officiating. Burial was in Auglaize Cemetery, Harrod.

Charles F. Rolston, 71, Lima, died Sept. 24, 1999 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1928 in Alger, to Mack and Iva (Robinson) Rolston. On Sept. 1, 1957, he married Marilyn M. Risner, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 1993. Survivors include one son, Charles G. (Jo) Rolston of Layton (Hill AFB), Utah; two daughters, Patricia (Tarek) Sleiman of Lima, and Laura (Michael) Schroer of Charleston (AFB) S.C.; one sister, Dorothy (Kirby) Nesbitt of Shiloh; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Glen Rolston; and one sister, Audrey Carmean. Mr. Rolston retired from Ford Motor Company of Lima in 1988, after 30 years, where he worked in the Receiving Department. He was a member of the Rousculp Church of Christ, Cridersville, and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 330, Wapakoneta, a life member of VFW Post 8832 of Roundhead, and a life member of the Korean Veterans Association. Services were held Sept. 27 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, with Pastor Mark Vernik officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Graveside military services were held by Roundhead VFW Post 8832. Memorials may be made to St. Rita's Hospice Care of Lima.

Bertha Cochrane, 87, Dunkirk, died Sept. 25, 1999 at Ravenwood Care Center in Kenton. She was born June 26, 1912, in Roundhead, to Amos and Clora May (Wynegar) Baughman. On Oct. 22, 1931, she married Rockford "Rocky" Cochrane. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1985. Survivors include one son, John Cochrane of Dunkirk; one daughter, Vivian (Ralph) Spradlin of Indian Lake; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie Arras of Mason, Mich. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Joe Cochrane; three brothers, Harold, Paul and Lloyd Baughman; and three sisters, Doris Edens, Mildred McCormick and Cecil Collins. Services were held this morning, Sept. 29 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with Pastor Scot D. Caley officiating. Burial was in Roundhead Cemetery.

Margaret Polly Stimmel, 72, Harrod, died Sept. 24, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born March 19, 1927, in Fairfield County to Daniel and Lovie Mae Bush Kerns. On Nov. 26, 1942, she married Roger Melvin Stimmel, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1995. Survivors include two sons, James Melvin (Lula) Stimmel of Riverton, Wy., and David Dale (Ruth) Stimmel of Lima; one daughter, Lorna Marie (Ken) Miles of Anderson, Ind.; one sister, Martha Hobson of Harrod; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers James Kerns and Albert Kerns; two sisters, Goldie Lawrence and Effie Haggerty. Mrs. Stimmel was a homemaker. She was a member of the Voice of Victory Church in Waynesfield, and of the Silver Bells with the church. Services were held Sept. 28 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Lewis Chapel, with the Rev. William Spencer officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery-Westminster.

William K. "Kenny" Hibner Sr., 74, Lafayette, died Oct. 1, 1999 at SCCI Hospital, Lima. He was born Nov. 30, 1924, in San Francisco, Calif., to William Paul and Ethel G. (McNeil) Hibner. Survivors include a son, William K. (Christina) Hibner Jr. of Chesapeake, Va; a brother, Daniel H. Hibner of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren and a great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Miller; and a sister, Anna Belle Merriman. Mr. Hibner retired from the Navy after 21 years and was a veteran of World War II. He was life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 993 and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 898 and Fleet Reserve Association Branch 40, all in Portsmouth, Va. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, Lima, and VFW Post 9381, Ada. Memorial services were held Oct. 4 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, conducted by American Legion Post 96. Helen L. McAlpin, 84, Marion, formerly of Ada and Columbus, died Sept. 30, 1999 at Marion General Hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1915, in Bainbridge to Joseph Vernon and Stella F. (Obenour) McAlpin. Survivors include two caregivers: a great-great-niece, Anna Laura Goodman of Marion, and a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Anna Lee McAlpin of Marion; one sister, Frances Jones of Tampa, Fla.; four nieces, Annie (McAlpin) Fuson of Fort Drumm, Texas, Nancy (Brown) Butler of Washington, D.C., Susan (Brown) Mong of Waterford, Mich., and Cheril (McAlpin) Soliday of Sidney; two nephew, Michael C. McAlpin of Loogootee, Ind., and Stewart McAlpin of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert McAlpin. Ms. McAlpin was a secretary with the State of Ohio in the Workman's Compensation Bureau. She was a 1933 graduate of Ada High School, and a graduate of a business college in Columbus. She was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Columbus, where she was a church choir member. She was a member of Columbus Senior Center and Pythian Lodge, both in Columbus. She attended the Community United Methodist Church of Marion. Ms. McAlpin was also an accomplished musician and artist. Services were held Oct. 4 at the Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Ada, with Pastor Rafael Velazco officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Gary E. Dunson Sr., 59, McGuffey, died Oct. 3, 1999 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. He was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Foraker to Ralph Calvin and Ethel Evelyn Miller Dunson. On Oct. 1, 1960, he married Shirley Marshall, who survives. Survivors also include a son, John (Trina) Dunson of Kenton; two daughters, Zora (Paul) Bailey and Evelyn (Timothy) Bailey, both of McGuffey; three brothers, Ralph Dunson of Forest and John A. Dunson and Clifford Dunson, both of Kenton; four sisters, Clara Mae Mulholland, Edith Denny, Evelyn Dunson and Linda Bolen, all of Kenton; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and a sister. Mr. Dunson retired as a machinist from the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. He was a life member of AMVETS Post 20, Kenton; the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an Army veteran, who had served in Korea. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Price Funeral Home, Kenton, with the Rev. Karew Manns officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Stanley J. Brenek, 58, Harrod, died Oct. 15, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1941, in Detroit, to John and Josephine Mizhtel Brenek. On Feb. 11, 1995, he married Judy A. Frazee, who survives. Survivors include two sons, David Brenek of Hilliard and Joe (Bonnie) Brenek of Lima; a daughter, Melissa (Keith) Miller of Waynesfield; three stepdaughters, Sheri (Stephen) Platt of Columbus, Kimberly Egelhoff of Cincinnati and Stephani Piehl of Lima; a sister, Bernice Rutecki of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; a half-sister of Florida; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Brenek. Mr. Brenek was employed by Lima Allen County Paramedics for more than 30 years. He had worked at Pangle's Market and was manager of the Latham Avenue store. He taught life support at Apollo Career Center, Lima Technical College, Lima Memorial Hospital and St. Rita's Medical Center. He was an instructor for basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, basic trauma life support, pediatric advanced life support and pre-hospital trauma life support. Mr. Brenek was a member of American Heart Association, Allen County Rescue Association and Ohio Emergency Medical Technician Instructors Association. He was a member of Ohio Ambulance Association, American Ambulance Association and American Red Cross. He was a co-founder and past member of Spencerville Rescue Squad. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Associates and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. Services were held Oct. 19 at St. Charles Catholic Church, with the Rev. David M. Ross officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Howard Lawrence Conrad, 81, Rimer, died Oct. 13, 1999 at his residence. He was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Cairo to Harmon Lester and Anna Bloom Conrad. He married Mary Jane Bowersock, who survives. Survivors also include an area resident, daughter Cathy (Errol) Eley of Ada. Mr. Conrad was a farmer. He was a life member of American Legion Post 715, Fort Jennings, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, Lima. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Services were held Oct. 16 at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Home Heath Agency, Ottawa.

Lulu Belle Gasser, 68, Ottoville, died Oct. 13, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Venedocia to William and Easter Hickle Eutsler. On Feb. 16, 1957, she married Eugene S. "Red" Gasser, who survives. Survivors also include area resident, brother, Art Eutsler of Harrod. Mrs. Gasser was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 16 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Sylvan Obergefell officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Minnie Alvena Jones, 93, Dunkirk, died Oct. 16, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton. She was born April 10, 1906, to Edward and Georgia (Shannon) Miller. In 1926, she married Gerald Jones, whom she later divorced. She then married Garner McQuown, who preceded her in death in 1960. She then remarried Gerald Jones, who preceded her in death in 1967. Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Virginia Jones of Columbus; a stepson, Jack McQuown of Arizona; one sister, Ruby Hensel of Kenton; one granddaughter, five stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert in 1997; two sisters and two brothers. She owned and operated a grocery store in Arkansas until 1960, when she moved back to Dunkirk. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Dunkirk and VFW of Roundhead. She was the church treasurer for many years. Services were held Oct. 19 at Price Funeral Home, Dunkirk. Burial was in Dunkirk Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.

Betty F. Risner, 60, Lima, formerly of Kenton, died Oct. 11, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1939 in Alger to James and Stella (Howard) Stone. Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Nancy) Risner of Fremont, and Greg Risner of Lima; two grandchildren, Joy and Ricky Risner; one brother, Larry (Martha) Davis of Conroc, Texas; five sisters, Imogene (Bill) Pack of Washington, Jeri Sparks of Kenton, Nora (Michael) Giovinazzo of Bluffton, Barbara (Mark) Evenson of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Mary Jane Allen of Jackson, Mich.; and over 100 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Jr., Homer and Seward Stone; and one sister, Maxine Collins. Ms. Risner taught for several years at Upper Scioto Valley Junior High School. She attended Port Clinton Pentecostal Church of God. A memorial service was held Oct. 16 at Sunrise Foursquare Church, Findlay, with the Rev. Wayne Baldridge officiating. The body was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to Port Clinton Pentecostal Church of God. Arrangements were made by Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.

Maredia Allen Wright, 67, Ada, died Oct. 15, 1999 at Lima Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lima. She was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Royalton, Ky., to Andrew and Teda (Marshall) Allen. Her mother died in 1956. Her father and stepmother, Lillian (Holbrook) Allen survive in Lima. On Aug. 4, 1951, she married Cecil Wright and he survives in Ada. Survivors also include two brothers, Warnie Allen of McGuffey, and Timothy S. "Tim" Allen of Lima; three sisters, Roberta (Ezra) Moore of Lima, Brenda (Thomas) Keller of Lima, and Catherine "Cathy" Burton of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and nine nieces and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Darvin D. Wright in 1987 and sister, Barbara Allen in 1945. Mrs. Wright was a private duty nurse aide who worked also at the Hardin County Home and for Ada Nursing Home. She was a member of the Auglaize United Baptist Church of Maysville. She attended McGuffey High School. Services were held Oct. 18 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with pastors Russell Manns and Willie Collins officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Memorial contributions may be made to Auglaize United Baptist Church of Maysville.

Edna Hall, 78, Kenton, died Oct. 15, 1999 at her residence. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Kentucky to Lacy and Mollie (Mann) Mann. In 1948, she married Lee Hall, and he preceded her in death in 1981. Survivors include three sons, Donald Hensley of Alger, Herbert (Judy) Hensley of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Steve (Jean) Hall of Kenton; two daughters, Ida Mae (Larry) Steele of Kenton and Sharon Kay (Larry) McConnell of Urbana; two stepdaughters, Gladys Puckett of Warsaw, Ind. and Catherine Hall of Lima; one brother, Hearl (Emma) Mann of Alger; four sisters, Ethel Nichols of Kenton, Cleda (Warren) Dysert of Alger, Ruby Rose of Alger and Dorothy Beverly of Kenton; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Hensley; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; a brother, Herman Mann; and a stepdaughter, Dolly Ervin. Mrs. Hall was a homemaker and she was a member of the House of Prayer in Kenton. Services were held Oct. 18 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger. Burial was in Preston Cemetery.

Neil W. Sutherland, 72, Kenton, died Oct. 13, 1999 at Winebrenner Village in Findlay. He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Hardin County to Harold and Ruth (Woodard) Sutherland. On Aug. 28, 1949, he married Imogene Runser, who survives. Survivors also include area resident, sister Elinor (Donald) Powell of Ada. Mr. Sutherland was a retired farmer and a member of the First Christian Church in Kenton, the Elks Lodge 157, the Farm Bureau and the Farm Bureau Council. He was also a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy and he was a former 4-H adviser and a former member of the Wolf Creek Grange. Services were held Oct. 16 at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home by Pastor Mark Davis. Burial with military services followed in Grove Cemetery in Kenton. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or the Winebrenner Alzheimer Unit in Findlay.

Clayton "Alex" Arn, 77, Dunkirk, died Oct. 20, 1999 at his residence. He was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Hardin County, to Lowell D. and Minnie (Kurt) Arn. On March 10, 1946, in Kenton, he married Kathlyn M. Nichols, who survives. Survivors also include two sons, Steven A. (Robin) of Newark and Rodney L. (Sharon) of Reynoldsburg; two daughters, Susan K. Arn of Norman, Okla., and Kathy L. (Richard) Capel of Scotia, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary Willeke, Wilma Overly and Evelyn Rensing, all of Kenton; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah and two brothers, Ralph and Clyde. He was a farmer and the owner of Arn Trailer Sales and Country Stove Barn. He was retired from United Aircraft Products. A 1940 graduate of Dunkirk High School, he was lifelong member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. He loved traveling, camping and was an avid fisherman. A memorial service was held Oct. 23, at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Thomas Hite. There was no burial. Memorials may be made to the Hardin County Cancer Society of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.
