Adam Adams
MANTUA - Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23 for Adam Adams, 88, of Mantua, at Green's Funeral Home in Mantua with the Rev. Thomas McCarthy officiating. Adams died Saturday, April 11, 1998 at Bedford Medical Center. Born Feb. 23, 1910 in Poland, he had been a resident of the Mantua area since 1990 after moving from Chagrin Falls and South Russell. Mr. Adams was employed in management for many years at TRW in Cleveland before retiring in 1972. Survivors include his wife Veronica L. (Mituniewicz) Adams; son, Carl F., of Indiana, Pa.; daughter, Janet (Clifford) Osborn, of Mantua; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department Rescue Squad.

Mary Ables
ASHTABULA - Mary L. Ables, 69, died Saturday, May 16, 1998 at Carington Park Nursing Home in Ashtabula after an extended illness. Born April 30, 1929 in Grantsville, W.Va., she was the daughter of Dallas and Ella Mae (Blosser) Burrows. She had been a resident in the Windham and Mantua areas before moving to Ashtabula in 1986. Survivors include brother-in-law Gay (Ila) Carper of Geneva and several nieces and nephews in the Windham and Garrettsville area. Services will be held at a time to be announced at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home in Clarksburg, W.Va. Burial will be in Rockford Cemetery in Rockford, W.Va. Arrangements are being handled by Green's Funeral Home in Mantua.

Leroy Kellar
NELSON TWP. - Leroy F. Kellar, Jr., 59, died suddenly Saturday, May 16, 1998 at his residence. Born March 6, 1939 in Warren, he was the son of Leroy and Nellie (Younger) Kellar. He had been a resident of Nelson Township for 25 years. Mr. Kellar had been a construction worker for Donley's Construction of Cleveland for 38 years. He was a member of the Warren Moose Lodge No. 186. He was also a member of Carpenters' Local No. 21 of Cleveland. Survivors include his father; sons, Leroy III of Ravenna, and Paul of Garrettsville; daughters, Jo Ann Moorhouse of Garrettsville, and Melony Brunn of Windham; six grandchildren; brothers, James of Windham, Jack of Newton Falls and Sam of Champion; sisters, Delores McQuain of Newton Falls, and Irene McCauley, Sandy Eckroate, Ginger Sherman, and Linda Wortman all of Warren; and fiance Denise Szorady and her two children. His wife Martha died in 1990. His mother and brother, Raymond, also died previously. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home in Garrettsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Carl Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.

Carl Fenrich
MANTUA TWP. - Carl F. Fenrich, Jr. 80, died Friday, May 15, 1998 at his home. Born Oct. 16, 1917 in Cleveland, he was the son of Carl F. and Anna (Kaufman) Fenrich. He was a lifetime Mantua area resident, graduating in 1935 from the Mantua-Center school. Mr. Fenrich was self-employed as a farmer and milk hauler in the Mantua are, retiring in 1980. He also was a bus driver for the Crestwood School System for several years. He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their Winnebago, throughout the continental United States, Alaska and Nova Scotia. He was a member of the Buckeye Winnies Winnebago Club in Canton. Survivors include his wife Nina (Bockelman) Fenrich at home; sons, Richard (Joyce) of Chardon, and Walter of Garrettsville; daughters Kathy (William) Bennett of Mantua, and Judy (Ron) Porter of Bullhead City, Ariz.; a brother, Kenneth, of Mantua; sisters, Ruth Boehnlein of Las Vegas, Jean Davis of Robinson, Ill. and Eleanor Brown of Montross, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Akin. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Green's Funeral Home in Mantua, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Roger Mize officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township.

Thomas Lee
Thomas Richard Lee, 62, of 2161 Palmyra Road, S.W., Warren, died of cancer Sunday, May 17, 1998, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. Born Oct. 14, 1935 in Pennsylvania., he was the son of Herbert and Elizabeth (Saber) Lee. A former Bristolville resident, he had lived in Warren for 20 years. Mr. Lee was employed at WCI in Warren for 27 years. He enjoyed fairs and auctions. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Mae (Robinson) of Warren, whom he married Oct. 1, 1966; sons, Charles G. and Richard T., both of Warren; daughters, Deborah Johnson of Bristolville, Kelly Bonifacio and Diane Smithberger, both of Warren, and Mary Smithberger of Newton Falls; three grandchildren; and sister, Charlotte Bertetto of West Vandergrift, Pa. His brother, George, and sisters, Marjorie West, Kathleen Jankowski, Isabel Conrad, and Anna Smeltzer, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, where services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristolville.

Blanche Riggle
Blanche E. Riggle, 82, of 2704 Draper St., S.E., Warren, who is survived by 11 sons and four daughters, died Saturday, May 16, 1998 at Hillside Hospital in Warren. Born July 16, 1915 in Geneva, she was the daughter of James and Celia (Crites) Grimwood. She had lived in the area for most of her life. Mrs. Riggle was a housewife. She enjoyed gardening and baking. Survivors include her sons, Gene, Glenn, Darrell, Morgan and Forrest Tibbs Jr.,all of Leavittsburg, Shirley, Don and and Blaine Tibbs, all of Warren, Clayton Tibbs of Minneapolis, Dale Tibbs of St. Paul, Minn., and Doyle Tibbs of London, Ohio; daughters, Juanita Kelley of Niles, Thelma Garvin of Warren, Virginia Higinbotham of Vienna and Loretta Wilson of Leavittsburg; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Paul Grimwood of Newton Falls; and sister Alice Buritza of Champion, Ohio. Her husband, Forrest Tibbs,died in 1962. Her husband, Charles Riggle, died in 1980. Her brothers, Edwin, Clyde and Eugene Grimwood, and sisters, Edith Porter and Irene Dabney, died previously. S. Randall Smith
S. Randall Smith, 89, a former Lake Milton resident, died Saturday, May 16, 1998 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. Born Oct. 16, 1908 in Boardman Township, he was the son of Bert Rush and Addie (Neidig) Smith. He lived in Lake Milton before moving to Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring. Mr. Smith owned and operated Milton Auto Service Sohio from 1947 until her retired in 1978. He was a member of Pricetown United Methodist Church and its senior citizens group. Survivors include his son, Wayne R. of Lake Milton; daughter, Susan E. Brumbaugh of Diamond; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His wife, Paula (Moessner), whom he married June 24, 1940, died May 15, 1984. His twin brother, G. Robert Smith, and sister, Alice Moore, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. James Macdonald officiating. Dylan Davey Anderson Fields
Dylan Davey Anderson Fields, 22, of Novelty, Ohio, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 16, 1998. Born July 19, 1975 in Ravenna, he was the son of Davey and Pamela (Broadstone) Fields. Mr. Fields worked at Best Buy in Mayfield Heights. He enjoyed computers, music, wrestling and reading. Survivors include his daughter, Destiny N., of Springfield; father, Davey E. of Kent; mother and stepfather, Pamela and Jonathan Bird of Novelty; grandparents, Fredrick and Virginia Garrette of Springfield; brother, Marcus Lowe of California; fiancee, Kara Arrington of Wilmington, Ohio; and former wife, Tonisha Fields of Springfield. His grandparents, Martha and William Lumeyer, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.

Paul Frohring
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hiram College for Paul R. Frohring, 94, who died Jan. 14, 1998. Mr. Frohring and his brother, William, were biochemical engineers who lead early research in nutrition. He headed the SMA Corp.and General Biochemicals of Chagrin Falls. He was a board member of American Home Products and several Northeastern Ohio corporations. Mr. Frohring worked on behalf of Hiram College, Case Western Reserve University, John Cabot University in Rome, Hathaway Brown School, the Geauga County Park District, Chagrin Falls Village, the Cleveland Health Museum, and the Cleveland Sight Center. Orrin Hill
DEERFIELD - Orrin J. Hill, 70, of 2069 Mahoning Road, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at his home. Born Dec. 7, 1927 in Cuyahoga Falls, he was the son of Orrin F. and Mary E. (Adams) Hill. He moved to the Deerfield area as a teenager. He was a graduate of Deerfield High School. Mr. Hill was an inspector for Rockwell International in Newton Falls until he retired in 1983 after 27 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Maedell (Wamer), whom he married August 3, 1950; son, Orrin F. of Deerfield; daughter, Linda Bryant of Deerfield; seven grandchildren; and brother, Dave of Ravenna. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery. Bonnie Kropac
Bonnie J. Kropac, 60, of Ravenna, died Tuesday, May 19,1998 at Altercare Nursing Home in Ravenna. Born April 17, 1938, she was the daughter of Jack L. and Minnie L. (Villers) Howitt. Mrs. Kropac was a registered nurse for the Portage County Nursing Home until she retired in 1984 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ravenna. Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey (Tara) Rhinehart and Ricky (Barbara) Rhinehart, both of Ravenna; four grandchildren; parents, Jack L. and Minnie L. (Villers) Howitt of Ravenna; and sisters, Donna Tingler of Ravenna and Carole Green of Garrettsville. Her husband, Irvin Rhinehart, died Dec.r 22, 1963. Her husband, Richard Paul Kropac, died May 12, 1997. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wood Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, with Pastor Gary E. Beck officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua.

Jane Legg
Jane A. Legg, 66, of Ravenna, died Monday, May 18, 1998 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Born Feb. 20, 1932 in Sandyville, W. Va., she was the daughter of George and Jessie (Dillon) Snyder. She had lived in Ravenna since 1951. Mrs. Legg was a glove stripper at the Oak Rubber Co. in Ravenna. Survivors include her daughter, Diana Whitacre of Ravenna; two grandsons; and sisters, Mary Sommer of Ravenna and June Perry of N.C. Her husband, James, died in February 1982. Her brother, Aaron, and sisters, Josephine Miller and Anne Wedding, died previously. There will be no services or calling hours. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were made by Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel.

Frances Smith
Frances L. Smith, 80, of Ravenna Township, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Born Feb. 12, 1918, she was the daughter of Michael and Frances (Skully) Lah. She had lived in Ravenna for 26 years. She was a former Streetsboro resident. Mrs. Smith was a drill press operator for Black and Decker in Solon until she retired. Survivors include her son, Arthur Jr. of Ravenna; daughter, Fran Lee of Akron; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Lah of Leesburg, Fla.; and sister, Helen Cornell of Chesterland. Her husband, Arthur, died in June 1984. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel,with the Rev. Carl Holm officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.

Stella Stratton
STREETSBORO _ Stella E. Stratton, 86, died Monday, May 18, 1998 following complications caused by a fall. Born April 4, 1912 in Pikesville, Ky., she was the daughter of Berry C. and Lynchia (Adkins) Gilliam. She moved to Streetsboro from Pikeville in 1985. Mrs. Stratton was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cow Pen Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Ted of Hudson; daughters, Anna Lee Nichols of Pikeville, Ky. and Ruth Ann Smith of Streetsboro;12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granchild; brother, Ernest Gilliam of Pikeville; and sister, M. Virginia Chamness of Pikeville. Her husband, Ira, to whom she was married for 64 years, died in December 1990. A brother, Oscar Gilliam, also died previously. Private services will be held for the family. Arrangements were made by Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel.

Caroline Trexler
Caroline (Knisely) Trexler, 95, of Ravenna, who worked with her husband to build the Trexler Rubber Co. in Ravenna, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at Anna Maria Nursing Home in Aurora after a long illness. Born Jan. 16, 1903 in Bucks Township, near New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Rosa Edna (Stein) and James Madison Knisely. She came to Ravenna in 1919 and was working at Reimold's Department Store when she met her future husband, William H. "Bill" Trexler Sr., who was working at the White Rubber Co., which was located nearby. They were married on March 5, 1922 in New Philadelphia. Mrs. Trexler helped her husband begin the Trexler Balloon Wheel Co. in 1936 and in the founding of Trexler Rubber Co. in 1953. She was the ladies' floor supervisor at the Diamond Street plant in the 1950s and 1960s and was a company director until the time of her death. She joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ravenna in 1932 and was very active for many years, including serving as a building committee member, organist and singing in the choir. She was worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed being with her family and cooking for them. She and her husband built their home on West Riddle Avenue in Ravenna in 1932. Survivors include her daughter, Neva June Schafer of Aurora; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Katherine Froelich of Hawaii and Della Kohl of Florida. Her husband, William Sr., died in 1991. Her son, William Jr., died in 1985. Her brothers, George, Ernest, Robert and Daniel Knisely, and sister, Margaret Mullen, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where the Order of the Eastern Star will conduct servcies at 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at noon Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ravenna, with the Rev. Deborah Wissner officiating. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ravenna.

Rick Vizzini
Rick M. Vizzini, 35, of Ravenna, died unexpectedly, Monday, May 18, 1998, of natural causes. Born April 24, 1963 in Garfield Heights, he was the son of Ross and Georgeann (Del Priore) Vizzini Sr. Mr. Vizzini was a supervisor at O.E.M.-Miller Co. in Aurora. He was active at Jim's Gym where he was a member of the bowling team. Survivors include his wife, Michele (Royer), to whom he was married for three years; daughters, Jordan, at home, and Angelina and Christina, both of Streetsboro; mother, Georgeann and stepfather, Robert Allen of Streetsboro; brother, Ross Jr. of Cleveland; sister, Robin Kozak of Eastlake; stepbrother, David Allen of Mantua; parents in-law, Susan and Kenneth North of Garrettsville; and brother-in-law, Chris Royer of Ravenna. His father, Ross, died in 1991. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Mary Ciccozzi
Mary (McCabe) Ciccozzi, 70, a former Kent resident, died of cancer Wednesday, May 20, 1998, in Johnstown, Pa. Born Dec. 31, 1927 in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of Louis and Rosella (Galordi) Pingtella. She had lived in Kent for 33 years. Mrs. Ciccozzi had worked at Kent State University in food services. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kent and Captain Brady Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kent. She enjoyed crafts and sewing. Survivors include her husband, Luigi, to whom she was married 23 years; daughters, Mrs. David (Tess) Ranc of Florida, Mrs. George (Rosemary) Shardy of Kent; Mrs. Charles (Michelle) Wilson of Texas; four grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Mary Ann) Pingtella of Johnstown and Frank of New York; and sisters, Jenny Myers, Betty Shank and Emma Casale of Pennsylvania. Her brother, Henry, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Frank Duca Funeral Home in Johnstown, Pa. Donna Truex, 70, of Graham Avenue, Kent, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at Kent Quality Care Nursing Home. Born May 15, 1928 in Kent, she was the daughter of Sidney L. and Elizabeth B. (Higerd) Cogan. Survivors include her son, Fred (Susan) of Burleson, Texas; daughters, Deborah (Phillip Secrest) Truex of Indianapolis, Indiana and Tami of Kent; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and brother, Larry (Darla) Cogan of Brimfield. Her husband, Fred A., and sister, Jean Minite, died in 1989. Her granddaughter, Shannon McIntosh, also died previously. Gary R. Beach
Gary R. Beach, 51, of Libby, Montana, a former Newton Falls resident, died Sunday, May 17, 1998 at his residence. Born Dec. 12, 1946 in Newton Falls, he was the son of Robert Beach and June Kreitler. He was a graduate of Newton Falls High School. Mr. Beach served 20 years in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and Germany. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife, Ursula; four children; and sisters, Patricia and Laurie. His parents died previously. Services were held in Libby. Local arrangements were made by Borowski Funeral Home, Newton Falls.
