Joseph Izsanyi
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Joseph Izsanyi, 75, died June 3, 1998. Born in Greig, N. Y., he had been an area resident since 1941. Mr. Izsanyi retired from Goodeyar with 34 years service, served with the U. S. Navy during World War II, was a member of the American Legion, and volunteered at the Sill Middle School Library. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Viola. Surviving are his wife, Olga; daughter, Sandy Ballway of Cuyahoga Falls; grandsons, Dean; sister, Irene Guenther of Akron; brother, George of Ashtabula; and niece, Ruth Ann Barton of Akron. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home, on Third Street, one block north of Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, where friends may call one hour prior to service time. Mr. Albert Jackman
Mr. Albert Jackman, of Kent, passed away May 31, 1998, at the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service in Fairlawn, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born Aug. 21, 1915, in Kent, he was a lifelong resident. He was graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1933, a member of the National Honor Society in the midst of the Great Depression. He studied violin and was an accomplished violinist. In 1935, he was employed by and later became a master machinist and foreman for C. L. Gougler Machine Co. until 1948, when he went to work for Kent Mold & Manufacturing Co. of Kent. In 1953, he became a co-owner and later vice president of Mastercraft Machine Co. of Kent, until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed cooking, dining, dancing, golf, gardening, and Florida-wintering. He was an original member of the Kent Loyal Order of Moose. He is survived by his daughter, Charita L. Lynch (Charles) of Kent; sister, Elsie Radich (Sam) of Newton Falls, Ohio; brothers, Ernest Jackman (Marilyn) of Rockville, Md., and Titus Jackman of Kent; also by friend, Claudette Edwards and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jackman; and his parents, John Jackman and Margaret Jackman. There will be no calling hours. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 S. Water St., Kent 44240, on Sunday, June 7, 1998, at 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church at the above address to the ``Albert Jackman Memorial Fund.'' Salonya Velma Jackson
Salonya Velma Jackson passed away June 5, 1998, at Akron General Hospital, after a long illness. She was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Orchard Hill, Ga., to Caviness and Willie Mae Crawford, and lived in Akron for 56 years. She retired from B. F. Goodrich after 42 years of service. Preceded in death by sisters, Eva Taylor, Annie Mae Johnson, Beatrice Rosser; and brothers, John and Bell, she is survived by her husband, Alva; special nieces, Annie and Daisy Walker; stepdaughter, Bert Williams, all of Akron; also her special niece, Francise Dirden; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services Thursday, June 11, 1998 at 11 a.m., at the Sommerville Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Andrew Newberry officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Thomas A. Jackson
Thomas A. Jackson, 53, passed away May 31, 1998, at the Cleveland Clinic. Born in Arkansas, he had lived in this community 45 years. He had been employed as a fabric selector for Fabric Center of America. He is survived by wife, Eliza; sons, Thomas and James Jackson of Detroit, Mich., and Antonio Brunson of Akron; daughters, Rhonda and Aretha Jackson, both of Akron; brothers, Felix Ware, James (Helen) Jackson of Copley, Billy (Cheryl) Taylor of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Clara Bingham of Akron, Lucille Lewis of Barberton, Juanita (Eugene) Davis of Aliquippa, Pa.; 24 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 5, 1998, at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. BARBERTON -- Judith Ann Johnson, 58, died June 7, 1998. She was a life resident of Barberton, and enjoyed playing bingo. Surviving are daughters, Melinda Elkins and April Townsend; grandchildren, Brooke, Noah, Clarence II, and Brandon; parents, Woodrow and Lillian Posten; sister, Karen Posten; and brother, Jeffrey Posten. Leroy M. Johnson
Leroy M. Johnson, 68, passed away June 1, 1998. He was a retired Akron City employee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Riffle), on Dec. 31, 1997. He is survived by daughters, Janie Saladin of Randolph and Darla Sams of Akron; son, Martin Edward Johnson of Akron; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Glendale Cemetery, with Rev. Rod Taylor officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Barberton Post 1066. William E. Jones, 76, died June 4, 1998, of Alzheimer's Disease. Terra Renee Joyner
LONG BEACH, N. C. -- Terra Renee Joyner, 15, of 142 N.E. 37th St., died June 6, 1998. A ninth-grade student, she was born Nov. 1, 1982, in Akron, daughter of Timothy Arthur and Patricia Lee Wymer Joyner, and moved to Long Beach two years ago. Survivors, in addition to her parents, are brother, Sean Joyner of the home; sister, Tracee Joyner of Akron; grandparents, Ethel Joyner of Akron, and Jack and Barbara Wymer of Akron. An informal time of remembrance will be at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Peacock-Newnam Funeral Home in Southport, N. C. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Paul E. Kadilak
Paul E. Kadilak, 69, died Sunday, June 7, 1998. Mr. Kadilak was born in Charleroi, Pa., served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and, prior to his retirement in 1993, was employed by the Carmen Rubber Co. Mr. Kadilak was a longstanding member of Moose Lodge 759. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Thompson of Cabot, Ark.; son, Paul of Kadilak of College Station, Texas; stepson, Rocky Kadilak of Manchester; sisters, Mary Baginski of Barberton, Margaret Corbett of Brooklyn, N. Y.; brother, John Kadilak of Ft. Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the CIRIELLO FUNERAL HOME--ROSE HILL CHAPEL, 3653 W. Market St., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., Fr. Juanita E. Kaufman
Juanita E. Kaufman, 67, passed away June 6, 1998 at Akron General Hospital. She was born on May 22, 1931, the daughter of Henry and Mary Phillips. Mrs. Kaufman retired from Montgomery Ward after many years of employment. She was also a member of Copley Baptist Temple. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Johnnie and Ron Zeffer; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Donna Skeen; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Mary Phillips; grandchildren, Ryan Skeen, Paul Zeffer, and Adrienne Zeffer; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Miriah, and Marina Pendleton. Dr. Jack Thomas Keith
Dr. Jack Thomas Keith, 79, died June 5, 1998. Born in Springfield, Ohio, he was a graduate of Springfield High School in 1935. He attended Wittenberg University in 1936, where he was president of the freshman class, and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1941. He practiced in Cleveland for two years and in Akron from 1943 to 1993 when he retired. Dr. Keith was past president of the Akron Jaycees, Summit County Optometry Association, Ohio Optometry Association, Ohio State Board Examiners, the International Association of Board Examiners, and the West Akron Kiwanis. He was a member of Adoniram Lodge F&AM, Valley Akron Consistory, and Tadmor Temple Shrine. Dr. Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Violet, and six loving children: daughter and son-in-law, Jacquin K. and Joe Mann of Dayton; daughter, Karen K. Sinchak of Phoenix, Az.; daughter, Loren K. Keith of Darwin, Australia; son, Thomas J. Keith of Akron; daughter, Melinda A. Keith of Akron; and son and daughter-in-law, Douglas C. and Sally Keith of Garner, N.C.; devoted grandchildren, Jon and Jamie Middendorf of Akron, Hayden and Hubie Senne of Phoenix, Az., Will and Jack Tinapple of Darwin, Australia, Eleanor and Henrietta Keith of Akron, Kayleigh and Sammy Keith of Garner, N.C.; great-grandson, Dalton Senne of Phoenix. BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Frank L. Klabbatz, 79, of Battle Creek, Mich., formerly of Akron, died Friday, June 12 in Battle Creek. Mr. Klabbatz was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth R. (Wissink) and daughter, Jean Bennett. Surviving are his daughter, Janice L. Ploehn of Battle Creek, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Eugene R. Komyati, 71, passed away Thursday, June 18, 1998, after a lengthy illness. He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Matilda; and his sister, Eleanora K. (T. Richard) Robe of South Carolina, and their family. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family and friends. He was a veteran of World War II and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. John G. Krauss
WADSWORTH -- John G. Krauss passed from this life on Sunday, May 31, 1998, at his home in Bay Village. His 44 years will be remembered by a passion to enjoy life, a determination to overcome all obstacles, and a desire to envelop friends and family with his warmth. He shared his creative talents in occupations like magazine editor and most recently a 15-year tenure as teacher with the Cleveland Public Schools. Mr. Krauss was the brother of the late James, and is survived by parents, Richard and Beryl Krauss of Wadsworth and Lake Wales, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, William and Connie of Wadsworth; nieces, Kira and Jenny; nephew, Bubba; and all those who chanced upon his path. UNIONTOWN -- Carl M. Krouse, 66, passed away June 7, 1998, at his residence, after a brief illness. Born in Delaware, Ohio, he lived most of his life in the Akron and Uniontown areas, graduating from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Mr. Krouse retired from Yoder Brothers, Inc. in 1995, and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Myrtle Krouse, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sallie A. Krouse; daughter, Kathryn A. of the residence; and brother and sister-in-law, Paul W. and Ruth Krouse of Delaware, Ohio.
