WADSWORTH -- Conrad Neiheiser, 85, died Monday, April 27, 1998 at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6462 Ridge Rd., Sharon Center. Pastor Jean M. Hansen officiating. The family will receive friends TONIGHT, 7 to 9 p.m. at Hilliard Cox Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth and one hour prior to service at the church. Florence E. Nelson
BARBERTON -- Florence E. Nelson, 93, died April 22, 1998. A resident of Barberton for 70 years, she was born in Kent, Ohio in 1904. She started school at Kent Normal School in 1910 and was one of the first women to graduate from what is now Kent State University, with a teacher's certificate. She then moved to Barberton to teach school. She met and married her husband, J. Robert Nelson. They were married for 57 years before he was called home to be with the Lord. Together they had two children, son, Jack Richard, who died at age 14, and a daughter, Marilyn. She was a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church of Barberton, Amoma Class and the Goldenaires. She served the church as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a 50-year member of Jeannette Chapter 212 O.E.S., Barberton Womens Club and Barberton Child Study Club. Surviving are, daughter, Marilyn (Collier) Neely and husband, Gene of Norton; grandsons, Dr. Greg Collier and wife, Judy of Cincinnati, Todd Collier and wife, Sandy of Clinton; granddaughter, Amy and husband, Dr. Christopher Klonk of Wadsworth; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Phillip, Emily, Alexander, Ian, and Collin; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kirk, Gary, Nicholas and Randie Jo; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral service will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Barberton, Pastor E. Murray McMillan officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Rose Marie Nesby-Flowers (Rosie)
Rose Marie Nesby-Flowers (Rosie), 53, went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 1998, at Akron City Hospital, after a short illness. Born in Malvern, Ohio, she had lived in this community for over 30 years. She was a member of Frank Street Church of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. D. Flowers Sr.; grandson, Da'Von Flowers-Taylor; sister, Joyce Nesby. She is survived by her sons, Eric E. Nesby of Columbus, Brian K. Nesby and David J. Flowers; daughter, Tyra D. Flowers; mother, Minnie Wood, all of Akron; devoted siblings, Ronald (Gwen) Nesby, John (Cherise) Wood, Billy Wood, Marilyn (Edward) Mosley, Ellen (Fred) Duncan, Marion Nesby of New York, and Thelma (Daniel) Scott-Burch; three grandchildren; special friends, Diane Butts and June Stephens of Akron; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, Rev. Douglas Price officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Elder Joseph L. Nevels
Elder Joseph L. Nevels, 74, went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 1998, after an extended illness. Born in Bessemer, Ala., he had lived in this community since 1936. He retired from Firestone Rubber Co. in 1979 after 32 years of service. He was a minister of the Gospel since 1955, a member of First Apostolic Faith Church, former Sunday School teacher and superintendent, founder of Akron Canton Unity Meeting, former pastor of Christ Temple Church in Oberlin, Ohio, and Apostolic Church of Christ (Friendship) in Akron, former assistant pastor of First Apostolic Faith Church, an instructor at Berean Bible College, spiritual advisor of Northern Ohio District Brotherhood, a member of Ohio District Council of Pentecostal Churches and Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, and minister of hospital visitation for First Apostolic Faith Church. Preceded in death by son, Kenneth, he is survived by wife, Marie Nevels; sons, Alfred (Jacqueline) Nevels of LaJolla, Calif., District Elder Laurence (Doloris) Nevels of Oberlin, Ohio, Michael Nevels, A. Glenn (Cindy) Nevels, both of Akron, Jonathan Nevels of New Jersey, Keith (Lisa) Nevels of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter-in law, Carol Nevels of North Hollywood, Calif.; sisters, Lucille Wells of Venice, Calif., Lucy Byrd and brother in-law, Willie Byrd, both of Bessemer, Ala.; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at First Apostolic Faith Church, with District Elder Samuel Hampton officiating, District Elder Laurence Nevels eulogizing. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. F. Pauline North
F. Pauline North, 77, of East Summit Street, Kent, died Sunday at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. She was born July 14, 1920, in Charlestown, to Charles Arthur and Augusta Caroline (Ensele) Hickman. She graduated from Charlestown High School in 1938 and graduated from the People's Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She was a nurse for years at Robinson Memorial Hospital, and then retired from Akron General Hospital. She was an avid golfer and bowler. She enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, dancing, traveling, needlepoint, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving friend, Frank J. Raber; sons, Paul D. (Mary Anne) of Ravenna and Steven M. (Laurie) of Green Bay, Wis.; daughters, Maureen A. (Larry) Barnes of Akron, Patricia A. (Jim) Gless of Kent and Janice M. (Cal) Edgell of Tolleson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Arthur Hickman of Palmetto, Fla., and James Hickman of Westerville; and sister, Lorena Sherrett of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ruth North; brother, John Hickman; and sister, Ruth Keegan. Calling hours will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bissler & Sons Funeral Home. Dorothy M. Nunn
Dorothy M. Nunn, 74, passed away April 17, 1998, following a brief illness. Born in Cincinnati on Feb. 17, 1924, she was a retired Akron University professor of microbiology. She leaves behind seven nieces, one nephew, dear friends, neighbors; and a beloved pet and companion, April. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, at ADAMS-MASON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 791 E. Market St., in Akron. Memorials may be made to the VNS Hospice, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron 44333. Edna J. Parks
NORTON -- Edna J. Parks, 80, died April 16, 1998, at Windsong Care Center in Fairlawn. She was born in Akron and was a lifelong resident of Norton. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church of Norton. She was a volunteer with Mobile Meals. She is survived by son, Donald Parks of Barberton; grandson, Anthony Parks Sr.; two great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.; sister, June Papp of Barberton. Charles ``Babe'' Pascu
Charles ``Babe'' Pascu, 78, died Monday, April 20, 1998. He was born in Akron and was an area resident his entire life. A graduate of Ellet High School, he attended Kent State University, and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He retired from Reiter Foods in 1977 with 30 years of service and was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing Zilch with family and friends. He was preceded in death by wife, Rema N. Pascu, and is survived by special friend and companion, Lillian Hinkle of Akron; daughters, Victoria L. Pascu-Godwin (Robert) of Akron and Susan G. (Roy) Midcap of Hartville; sons, Charles E. (Diane) of Scottsdale, Ariz., Michael R. (Gail) of Akron and David R. (Karen) of Barberton; grandchildren, Charlie II, Danielle, Michael, Jr., Todd, Scott, Nikki, Kelly, Jennifer, Susanna, Stefan and William; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, Rev. David Frees officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park, where Firestone V.F.W. Frank J. Pass
Frank J. Pass, age 75 of North Canton, died Saturday afternoon in Aultman Hospital Emergency Room of apparent heart attack. He was a life resident of this area. He retired from the Air National Guard as a Mechanic and he also was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Force. Member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and Seniors Citizens of the Church. He was a graduate of McKinley High School, Class of 1942. His parents were the late James and Pauline Pass. He is survived by his wife, Elle (George) Pass, who together celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, February 29, 1998; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Kay Pass, Anesti and Carolina Pass, all of Houston, TX; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Bea Pass, Gust and Tula Pass of California, Nick Pass of Detroit, MI; one sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Chris Fotis of Van Nuys, CA, and one granddaughter, Erin Nicolo Pass. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11 A.M. in Holy Trinity Greed Orthodox Church with very Rev. Fr. Stephen N. Mazaris officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 P.M. in the Rossi Funeral Home and also one hour before the service on Wednesday at the Church where the body will lay in state. Edward J. Pellow
Edward J. Pellow, 61, died April 22, 1998. Mr. Pellow was a longtime member of the N.E.S.C.A. Anglers, Nordonia Hills Gun Club and The Newburgh Lodge 379 F&AM. Mr. Pellow was the beloved husband of Anna B. (nee Price) and the late Norma (nee Kresina); loving father of Marlene Miskela (Robert) and Bruce E. (Marna); loving step-father of Dean Hall (Maureen) and Richard Hall (Laurie); devoted grandfather of nine; dear brother of the late Arline Beam. George Price
George Price, 83, passed away April 28, 1998, in Akron. He was born Aug. 8, 1914, in Belington, W. Va., to his parents, Howard and Cinda Price. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He worked for W. G. Lockhart & H. B. Lockhart Construction Co. for over 40 years, and was a retired member of Local 18 International Union of Operating Engineers. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; second wife of 46 years, Marion E.; five brothers, two sisters; and son-in-law, Butch Purkey. He is survived by his daughters, Patty Matheny of Pensacola, Fla., Joyce Purkey of Vienna, W. Va., Valerie Woodward of Copley and son-in-law, Clint Woodward; brothers, Dick (Betty) Price of Port Orange, Fla., and Bill (Emma) Price of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Paula Bucci, Jody (Mara) Purkey, Jay Purkey, Joe Woodward, and Emily Woodward; great-grandson, Frankie Bucci. Mary E. Prince
Mary E. Prince, 95, of Akron, died April 22, 1998. Born in Athens, Ohio, she lived in the Akron area most of her life. She retired from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., and was a member of the Firestone Park United Methodist Church. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Margaret Prince of Firestone Park. Funeral services Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 1446 S. Main St., with Rev. Randall L.
