He served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam. Andrew Tony Levitsky
STOW -- Andrew Tony Levitsky, 79, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 1998, after a battle with cancer. A lifetime Stow resident, he retired from Jones Motor Freight after 30 years service, and was a member of Holy Family Church. Mr. Levitsky also served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his loving family and friends, wife, Eleanor (nee Battaglia); daughter, Ann Marie Levitsky; sons and daughters-in-law, Andy Paul and Nancy Levitsky, Nick and Paula Levitsky, Richard and Vicki Levitsky, and Tony Pampena; grandchildren, Lisa, Mike, Lena, Nichole, Shelly, Nicholas Andrew-Chester; sister, Rose Bova of Texas; and brother, John Levitsky of Cleveland; and his favorite dogs, Harley and Morgan. MANCHESTER -- Hubert Lewis, 71, died May 14, 1998. Born in Pikeville, Tenn., he was a Barberton area resident for 50 years, and retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 36 years service. Charles F. Linderman (Lindy)
Charles F. Linderman (Lindy), 70, passed away April 30, 1998. Mr. Linderman was born in Hudson on June 11, 1927. He was an automotive machinist for Standard Motor Parts, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He had been a member of the Akron Baptist Temple since 1950. Preceded in death by his wife, Frances, he is survived by his son, Chuck (Janice) Linderman; daughter, Theresa (Dennis) Resh; sisters, Mary Lou Bennett and Helen Hahn; grandchildren, Tom and Heather Linderman, Micah and Nicole Posten, and Marissa Resh. Services will be Monday, May 4, 1998, at 11 a.m., at the Akron Baptist Temple, Rev. Howard Powell officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. HUDSON -- Helen R. Lindsay, 85, died May 5, 1998. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, she had lived many places, including Brazil, and had worked as both a nurse and realtor. Preceded in death by husband, William S., in 1969, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Carloss Stover of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, William S. III and Sally Lindsay of Escondido, Calif.; grandsons, Chris and Bill Lindsay, Rick and Jim Stover; great-grandsons, Matt and Dan Kirkey, Jack Stover, and Ian Lindsay; sisters, Maryanna Jones of Columbus and Hester Kerr of Roswell, Ga. Andrew Loman
Andrew Loman, 82, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 2, 1998. An Akron Native, Mr. Loman had retired from the shipping department at Goodyear about 20 years ago. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. God gives each of us an understanding of Himself. As we yield in truth, our will to his teachings, the understanding of Jesus increases. Andy leaves his wife of 60 years, Jessie (Harp); son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Linda of Brimfield; grandchildren and their spouses, Nathan and Shawn Loman, Danielle and Dave Royer; great-granddaughter, Hannah Royer. He also leaves his brother, Donald Lomiansky of Akron.

Edward C. Loomis
Edward C. Loomis, 80, passed away suddenly May 6, 1998. He was born in Akron on Oct. 30, 1917, and lived most of his life in Akron. He was employed by Summit Electric, and had been a major in the Army Air Corps during World War II 450th Bomb Squadron. He graduated from North High School in 1936 and also Kent State University, and was a life member of AMVETS. Preceded in death by parents, Charles E. and Lillian E. Loomis, he is survived by sisters, Betty Poules of Akron, Janet Fuller of Dayton; nieces, Marilyn Falcione of Akron, Kathleen Flynn of Trotwood, Ohio; nephews, Ed Fuller of Huron, Ohio, Bill Fuller of Massachusetts; several great-nieces and -nephews; special friends, Edie Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls. Caroline B. Maglione (nee Stofcho)
Caroline B. Maglione, 69, of Sarasota/Bradenton, Fla., died April 30, 1998, at home. Born in Northfield, Ohio, she was the beloved wife of the late Major General Ralph J. Maglione, U.S.A.F. Retired, of Portage Lakes. She attended Kent State University and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. She was the mother of Annette; wife of Joe Feathers of Sarasota; sister-in-law of Pat Reppa of Parma, Ohio, Tom of Portage Lakes, Larry (deceased) of Chicago, James of Sarasota, and Evelyn Stofcho of Cleveland; 13 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held May 7, in Sarasota. She will be buried with Ralph at Arlington National Cemetery.

Ellet R. Mann
Ellet R. Mann, 72, passed away peacefully April 30, 1998, at his home. Born Oct. 23, 1925, in Lodi, he worked on his grandfather's farm until 1944, when he joined the U. S. Marine Corps, from which he was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of corporal. From 1949 to 1961 he was a partner in the C. M. Carlton Steel Hauling Co. of Lafayette. He later owned and operated his own steel-hauling truck and trailer. For the remainder of his life he worked for several companies, specializing in excavating and development, including Medina Excavating and Alber Excavating companies. Always active in his community, he helped start the Lafayette Little League and helped to build the first baseball field, which is named in his honor. He served 10 years on the Lafayette Zoning Board and two terms on the Lafayette Township Board of Trustees. In 1959, he and his wife purchased his paternal family farm, which the family had occupied in 1837. In 1977, he and his sons completely rebuilt and restored the original family farmhouse where he and his wife continued to live. An avid historian, he had family treasures and keepsakes dating back to the 1800s. He was an active member of the Waltz United Methodist Church, Eagles for over 50 years, and Moose Lodge 647. He is survived by his dear wife, Evelyn (nee Garrett); loving sons, Ray and Rex (Mary); loving daughter, LaRee Mann; sister, Vanda Baczuk; and grandchildren, Michelle and Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ancel and Hazel Mann; brother, Dale; and sister, Janis Pritchard. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Goldie M. Marsh, 89, passed away May 11, 1998. Born in Braxton County, W. Va., she retired from the Akron Board of Education, and was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by her husband, James; and daughter, Joyce, she is survived by her children, Betty (Bob) Hileman, Donald (Barbara), all of Texas, Ronald (Gloria) of California, Robert, Richard (Nancy), Ralph, and Charles, all of Akron; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roland Moore of West Virginia; sisters, Ruby (Ward) McConnell of Georgia and Sylvia Wallace of Virginia. Rick L. Marshall
GREENSBORO, N. C. -- At peace and with his Lord, Rick L. Marshall, 47, died Saturday, May 2, 1998, at his residence. A native of Akron, Rick was a 1969 graduate of Field High School, and was a member of Westover Church in Greensboro. Survivors include his son, Eric S. Marshall; daughters, Rene C. and Kari N. Marshall, all of Greensboro; parents, Jim and Delores Marshall of Mogadore; brothers, Rex Marshall of Greentown and Kurt Marshall of Uniontown; and sister, Michelle Atkinson of Xenia, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home in Akron. Jack H. Marstellar Sr.
Jack H. Marstellar Sr., 79, of Elyria, passed away of natural causes Thursday, April 30, at the Cleveland Clinic. Mr. Marstellar had resided formerly in North Olmsted, North Ridgeville, and Akron. He was semi-retired since 1988 as a sales representative for Rooney Optical, Inc. of Brookpark, Ohio. Mr. Marstellar was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Harriet, in 1972. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara J.; sons, Jack H. (Mary) of Strongsville, Daniel B. (Sandra) of Akron, and Rob P. Wolanin of Elyria; daughters, Carol S. (Gary) Jenovai of Milwaukee, Wis., Lisa M. (Keith) Szczepanski of Elyria; and was the brother of Pat Seelye of Cuyahoga Falls and Chet Marstellar of Chicago. Cyril L. (Larry) McCloskey II
STOW -- Cyril L. (Larry) McCloskey II, 54, died May 8, 1998. Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident and a U.S. Army veteran. Larry served as Past Commodore of All Ports Yacht Club and Sea Rangers Boat Club, Past Commander of the Greater Cleveland Boating Association, Past President of International Order of the Blue Gavel, and was a member of Inter-Lake Yachting Association. He was a grocery manager for Acme and Fazio's, and most recently worked at Consun Foods of Elyria. In earlier years, Larry was employed by Stow Ambulance Co. Preceded in death by his parents, Cyril L. and Betty Jane McCloskey and daughter, Patricia Kennedy, he is survived by wife, Naomi; son, John (Kim) Dunnington of the City of Green; three grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann (Hal) Williams of Stow; and two nephews. She loved antiques and formerly operated an antique shop in North Canton. She enjoyed reading and loved her dogs. Harold Robert ``Mac'' McKeighen, 76, died May 7 in Naples, Fla. Born in Akron, he was employed with the B. F. Goodrich Co. for 43 years, and was a Fellow of Forensic Experts in Tire Failure. He was a member of Coventry Lodge 665 F&AM, Akron Crime Clinic, in which he served as secretary for 15 years, and was a founding member of the Aladdin Foundation. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Eunice McKeighen; brother, Walter James McKeighen, who died in World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy; and sister, Mildred Brenner, he is survived by his wife, Violet Leighton McKeighen of Naples, Fla.; son, Gary R. (Carol) McKeighen of Plantation, Fla.; daughter, Dianne (Herb) Bivens of Westchester, Ohio; brothers, Floyd G. McKeighen of Sacramento, Calif., and Ralph T. Robert C. Merrill
STOW -- Robert C. Merrill, 87, passed away April 27, 1998. He attended Missouri University at Columbia and The Rolla School of Mines, and was employed most of his life as an engineer. Mr. Merrill was the TNT expert employed in the construction of Mt. Rushmore; following this, he was employed at the Ravenna Arsenol for many years, and then Bridgestone-Firestone. In later life, he also worked as a real estate broker. Preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth H. Merrill, and brother, L. Todd Merrill, he is survived by sister-in-law, Dorothy Merrill of Quitman, Texas, and niece, Mary George of El Paso, Texas. There will be no calling hours or services. Forest Bruce Metz, 73, passed away May 2, 1998. Bruce was born at Nicut, Calhoun County, W. Va. He retired from Firestone. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II, and was a member of V.F.W. Post 3532. Preceded in death by parents, Martin and Maude (Boone) Metz; brothers, Thurl and Clell; and sister, Anna Longfellow; survivors include daughters, Wanda Bush of Glenville, W. Otto C. Metz, 88, of Marshallville, died Friday morning. He was born on April 16, 1910, in Marshallville, to John and Anna (Schulenberger) Metz. He worked as a crane operator for the Babcock & Wilcox Co. in Barberton for 34 years, retiring in 1973. Surviving are his wife, Ethel (Williams) Metz; son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Ilene Metz of Orrville; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Jean and Robert Stoolmiller of Orrville, Joanne and Darrell Vandergrift of Minerva, and Dolores ``Dee'' and Ron Shidler of Marshallville; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and sister, Grace Rodebaugh of Canton. Helen Migdal, 82, died Wednesday, May 6, 1998. She was born in Senecaville, Ohio, and was an area resident since 1942. She retired from the circulation department of the University of Akron Library in 1972. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, St. Nicholas Altar Aid Society, Women's Club of St. Nicholas, Akron Orthodox Christian Women, Highland Square Senior Citizens, Fairlawn A.A.R.P. 1667, and she was a volunteer for the American Heart Association. She was preceded in death by husband, Serge, in 1988; sisters, Mary Yendrek and Anna DeBarardinis; and brother, Michael Yendrek, and is survived by son, Serge (JoAnn Love) of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; daughter, Andrea Migdal-Lambo (Don Lambo) of Akron; brother, Stephen (Ann) Yendrek of Warren, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Frances Migdal of Akron and Martha Migdal of Bradenton, Fla.; brothers-in-law, John Sisler of Clinton and Ted (Aileen) Migdal of Napa, Calif.; and grandchildren, Krista, Kyra and Katya Lambo, and Alexandra and Victoria Migdal. Theresa Mikolajczyk, 70, of Northfield Center was the beloved daughter of the late Anton and Mary Mikolajczyk. Theresa was a very-much-loved aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt who will be deeply missed. Sister of Stanley Mikolay, Sophia Mayor, Frank J. Mikolay and the late Ed Mikolay, Alex Mikol, Elsie Szudlo, Anna Mikolajczyk and Joe Mikolay, she died Wednesday, May 6, 1998. Theresa dedicated her life to taking care of her mother and sister, Anna, until their deaths. She had worked as an inspector for Marble Chair in Bedford for over 30 years. Carrie Mitchell, 90, went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 1998, at Akron General Center, after a brief illness. Born in Birmingham, Ala., she had lived in this community since 1922. She had been employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., retiring in 1971. She was a member of Arlington Church of God, sang in the choir, and a member of Joy Park Seniors. Dorothy G. Morrison, 86, formerly of Bellevue Dr., Wooster, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at Karrington of Wooster. Born in Marshallville, Ohio, April 29, 1912, daughter of David W. (D.W.) and Edith Keck Galehouse, she had been a teacher for 34 years, having taught at Wooster Twp. and Wooster City Schools, retiring in 1972. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, was an avid gardener, glass collector and traveler. She was a former member of the Wayne County Historical Society, Early American Glass Club and the Four Seasons Garden Club. She attended the College of Wooster and received her B.S. in Education from Ashland College. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Alan C. and Carol Morrison of Wooster, James G. and Darlene Morrison of Wooster, and Edie Grande of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, J. Greg Morrison, Steve Grande, Jeff Grande and Renee Grande; sister, Mrs. Art ``Florence'' Strong of Sacramento, Calif. She weas preceded in death by husband, Clifford H. Morrison in 1991, whom she married August 2, 1939, and brother, Leroy Galehouse. Floyd A. Mullett, 59, of Suffield Township, passed away suddenly April 10, 1998. He was a lifelong resident of the Randolph-Suffield area. Floyd graduated from Randolph High School, where he lettered in track, basketball, and football. Floyd played football for Waterloo Alumni and enjoyed boating and water skiing. He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserves, was employed at Trelleborg Monarch, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Suffield. Preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Ada Mullett; and nephew, Gregory Mullett, he is survived by wife, Stephanie of Suffield; sons, Stephen and Scott of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Myron and Phyllis Mullett of Marboro Township; sister and brother-in-law, Carmen and Larry Haidet of Alliance; mother-in-law, Della Vargo of Cuyahoga Falls; nieces, nephews, a host of relatives, and many wonderful friends.
