Lawrence J. Nahmi
Lawrence ``Larry'' Nahmi, 51, died May 3, 1998, in Tucson, Ariz. He graduated from the University of Akron and was a veteran of the Vietnam era, serving in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret, and is survived by his father, George of Hudson, Fla.; brother, Leonard of California; uncle, Charles Kandiko; aunts, Clara Kandiko and Alice Waller; cousins, George Nahmi, Becky Wisocki, Carol Sulecki, Richard and Gary Waller, Michael Flasko, Ted Kandiko, and Albert Nahmi. Funeral services will be held Monday, 10 a.m., at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., Pastor Joe Marshall officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Quentin E. Neal
CANAL FULTON -- Quentin E. Neal, 79, of Canal Fulton, died Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at Gaslite Villa. Born in Newcomerstown, Ohio, he had lived most of his life in Canal Fulton. He was a self-employed well driller and a member of Elliott Lodge 514 F&AM in Canal Fulton. Mr. Neal is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen (Hitchcock) Neal; son, Eugene (Elaine) Neal of Ozark, Ark.; daughters, Sandra (Victor) Fox and Cynthia (Laurance) Lucas, all of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Tracy, Steven, Robert, Casey, Adam, and Jennifer; and great-grandchild, Zack. The funeral service will be Friday, 1 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton, with Rev. Earl W. Miller Jr. officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery in Canal Fulton. Timothy Donald Neal
NORTH CANTON -- Timothy Donald Neal, 47, of North Canton, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening. He was a resident of the North Canton area since 1968. A graduate of Martins Ferry High School and Malone College, he is listed in the National Sports Almanac for small colleges for outstanding achievement in cross-country. He was employed as an agent for State Farm Insurance Co., and was a member of Green Valley United Methodist Church in Green, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Charlene of the home; sons, Brandon C. Neal, Scott M. Neal, and Timothy David Neal, all of North Canton; parents, C. Timothy and Violet Neal of Martins Ferry; sisters and brother-in-law, Sheila and Jim Fox of Martins Ferry, Kelly Neal of Columbus; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronald Neal of North Canton, Mark Neal, and David and Heather Neal, all of Cuyahoga Falls. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Karlo & Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor James Mock officiating. Entombment at North Lawn Mausoleum. Friends may call Thursday, 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, Ohio; and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Karlo & Sons Funeral Home. Mary L. Neidert
CANAL FULTON -- Mary L. Neidert, 81, died Monday, May 4, 1998, at Chapel Hill Community in Canal Fulton. Born in Bakersville, she was a life resident of Canal Fulton, and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by husband, Elias Neidert, in 1993, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Donald Burwell of Canal Fulton; son, James Neidert of Oak Harbor; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton, Rev. Pat Williams officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery in Canal Fulton. Glenn W. Noland
On this day, May 3, 1998, Glenn W. Noland passed away to be with his Lord. Born in Coshocton, raised in Peninsula, he served in World War II with the 80th Division for which he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Copley. A charter member of the Bath Fire Department, Bath Kiwanis and Bath Rotary, he was a past member of the Bath-Richfield School Board during the construction of Revere High School. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Mt. Vernon, and was a past member of Ghent Christian Church. He was also a member of Meridan Sun Lodge No. 69 F&AM and an honorary member of Ohio Lodge in Bladensburg. He did business in Bath as Nolands Amoco, then Marathon; in Medina as J.& S. Tractor Sales, a Massey Ferguson Dealership; and in Akron, the Rice Oil Corporation. In retirement, he went to a farm on the outskirts of Bladensburg. Glenn will be missed by his wife, Marion; sons, Ronald and William; daughter, Margaret Buzzelli; along with daughters-in-law, Celeste and Sherry; and son-in-law, Joseph Buzzelli; he also leaves behind six grandchildren; brother, Kenneth of N.C. and sister, Mary of Florida. Reidar A. Nome
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Reidar A. Nome, 74, died May 7, 1998. Mr. Nome was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1955, moving there from Morton, Ill. He had been self-employed in sales, was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy L., and is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, William and Carolyn of Kent, Steven R. and Roxanne of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Valerie, Jeffrey and Stephanie Nome, and Paul and Ted Cernava; great-grandson, Joseph Cernava; and brother and sister-in-law, Harald and Grace Nome of Bloomfield, Conn. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2141 5th St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221, where friends may call for one hour prior to service time, Pastor Keith Johnson officiating. Frances F. Norman
Frances F. Norman, 80, passed away May 4, 1998. A resident of the area for 41 years, Mrs. Norman had retired from St. Thomas Hospital with 12 years service. She was a precinct worker for the Board of Elections, and a member of Twigs. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Steven) Yost of Cuyahoga Falls and Linda Norman Thomas of Akron; sons, Thomas (Sandra) Norman of California, Gary (Kristina) Norman of Connecticut; sister, Emma Lee Tatum of Mississippi; and five grandchildren. Bernice Lattimore O'Prey
Bernice Lattimore O'Prey, 88, died Saturday, May 9, 1988. An Akron native, Mrs. O'Prey had lived much of her life in Washington, D.C., where she had worked as a legal secretary and office manager. A graduate of The University of Akron, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Preceded in death by her husband, Howard O'Prey, in 1956, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Interment will be on Thursday at Arlington National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Gertrude M. Osborne
WADSWORTH -- Gertrude M. Osborne, 93, passed away April 30, 1998, at Altercare of Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Linda Welday, and is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Welday; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Monday, May 4 at the Cox Funeral Home (7984 Ridge Rd.), Pastor Larrison officiating.
