Mildred J. Zimmerman
Mildred J. Zimmerman, 78, of Coshocton, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at the Coshocton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 26, 1921, in Fresno, Calif., she was the daughter of Jacob and Ethel (Hart) Zimmerman. A graduate of Coshocton High School, she received a bachelor's degree in education from Slippery Rock University (formerly Slippery Rock State College) in 1952. She performed graduate work at Ohio, Kent and Michigan state universities and the universities of Pittsburgh and Akron.
Ms. Zimmerman taught students with learning disabilities at Coshocton City Schools. She also taught in Newark, Warren and Pittsburgh, Pa. She had worked as a supervisor of student teachers at Slippery Rock Laboratory School and as assistant professor of education at KSU.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Coshocton, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, a board member of the YMCA, and a charter member of Trirosis, Friends of the Library. In 1965, she was listed in Who's Who in American Education. She also was listed in the first edition of Who's Who in Child Development. She was a member of the first Girl Scout troop organized in Coshocton.
Survivors include her sister, Norma G. Brown of Coshocton; niece, Barbara Platt of Collierville, Tenn.; nephew, Philip H. Brown of Coshocton; and six great-nieces. Her stepfather, Lorin Elliot; one brother; and nephew, James H. Brown, all died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Given-Dawson Coshocton Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave., Coshocton, Ohio, 43812, and one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Monday at the Coshocton Presbyterian Church's Custer Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Millspaugh officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette.
Memorials may be made to the Abiding Memorial Fund at the Presbyterian Church.

Charles "Glenn" Weaver
SUFFIELD - Charles "Glenn" Weaver, 54, died Thursday, March 2, 2000.
Born in Salem, he was the son of Charles and Mary Weaver. He had lived in the Akron area most of his life.
Mr. Weaver was employed by Ameritech for 30 years and retired in 1995.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and former league director of the Akron Area Christian Sports Association. He was a member of Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrie L.; daughters, Heather L. (Scott) Riffle of Cuyahoga Falls and Trisha A. Weaver of Suffield; brothers, Thomas and Kenneth; and sisters, Margaret Flint, Avon Graham, Faye Starkey, Carol Houchen, Mary Nuzum and Martha Schaal.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Monday at Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church, 1430 Goodyear Blvd., Akron, Ohio, 44305, with the Rev. Terence A. Lucarelli officiating.
Memorials may be made to Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church.

Henry Richard Black
Henry Richard Black, 76, of Woodsfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 29, 2000 at Barnesville Hospital.
Born April 16, 1923, in Lumpkin County, Ga., he was the son of James D. and Hattie (Head) Black.
Mr. Black was a retired machinist with Gougler Industries of Kent.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Local No. 169 and a member of Coopers Creek Baptist Church of Coopers Creek, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Clara (Long) Black; sons, Jim of Rootstown, Allen of Brimfield and Terry of Highland Heights; daughter, Connie Elrod of Kent; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sister, Eileen Tanner of Blairesville, Ga.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home in Barnesville where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Military graveside services will be provided by the Monroe and Belmont County Veterans Councils at Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield.

Alma M. Sturgill
Alma M. Sturgill, 55, of Ravenna, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
Born Aug. 7, 1944, in Springfield, Ill., she was the daughter of Elvira Wilson. Formerly of Canton, she had lived in Ravenna the past 18 years.
Ms. Sturgill was a homemaker.
She attended the Ravenna Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim Moles of Massillon, Paula Moles of Canal Fulton and Ann Sturgill of Ravenna; four grandchildren; brothers, Fred Accord of Florida, Lawrence Accord of Colorado, Tom Accord of Ravenna, Bob Accord of Urichsville and Jack Accord of Florida; and sisters, Mary McKibben of Ravenna and Ann Livingston of Nashville. Her son, Haskell Feltner, and brother, Bill Accord, died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. There will be no services and cremation will take place.

Verna H. Smith
Verna H. Smith, 88, of Ravenna, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna after a long illness.
Born July 11, 1911 in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was the daughter of George and Ellen (Maloney) Cochrane. She lived in Chester, W.Va. for 65 years before moving to Ravenna.
Mrs. Smith was a supervisor with Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 42 years.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association.
Survivors include her daughters, Ann Shazer of Greensburg, Ind., Lynn Boyd of Boca Raton, Fla., and Gretchen Cram of Garrettsville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Risinger of East Liverpool and Phyllis Thomas of Florida. Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert B. Smith, who died in 1963; her parents; brothers, Victor, George Jr., Earl, and Robert; and sisters, Esther Paul and Gladys Urban.
Calling hours will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Chester, W.Va., where services will follow at 1 p.m., with the Rev. James Reed officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Calcutta, Ohio.
Arrangements are being handled by Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Golden Rule Funeral Home in Garrettsville.

Luther L. "Sonny" Taylor
Luther L. "Sonny" Taylor, 53, of Ravenna died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at his home following a long illness.
Born May 22, 1946 in Arthurdale, W.Va., he was the son of Albert and Marguerite (Caricco) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a member of God's Church in Ravenna.
Survivors include his wife, the Rev. Vicie (Mounts), whom he married March 1, 1969; sons, Albert (Lisa) of Georgia, Luther Jr. (Amy) of Ravenna, and Ray (Jeanette) of Ravenna; daughter, Ann (Aaron) Swan of Ravenna; 11 grandchildren; and sisters, Alberta (Wilbur) Javosky of Ravenna and Niccolette Buchannon of West Virginia. His parents and a sister, Anita McClain, died previously.
Calling hours will from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at City of Refuge Church of God, 6351 Bridge St., Ravenna, with the Rev. Joe Deary and Pastor James Walden Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.

Jack E. Harper
Former Ravenna resident Jack E. Harper, 62, of Lakewood, Ohio, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital after a short illness.
Born October 19, 1937 in Ravenna, he was the son of Walter and Hazel (Rhinehart) Harper Sr. He had lived in the Cleveland area for 30 years.
Mr. Harper worked as a machinist at Warner & Swasey in Cleveland.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his sons, Jack Jr. (Cheryl) of Bainbridge, Jeff (Julie) of Brunswick, Kendal of Lakewood, and Walter (April) of Bay Village; daughters, Sherrie Price of Shalersville, Dawn (Walter) Owens of Wooster, and Jennifer Harper of Olmstead Township; stepsons, Danny and John Miller of Lakewood; stepdaughters, Amy Miller and Crystal O'Toole of Lakewood; 18 grandchildren; brothers, Gale, Richard, and Roger, all of Ravenna, Gene of Brunswick, and Tom of Mantua; and sisters, Janet Tackett of Kent and Margaret Anderson of Ravenna. His brothers, Junior and Gerald, and sister, Leona, died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home ,Ravenna Chapel, where services will follow at 9 p.m. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.

Margie J. Humphrey
Margie J. Humphrey, 57, of Brookside Lane, Cuyahoga Falls, died Wednesday, February 23, 2000, at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital.
Born May 27, 1942 in Akron, she was the daughter of Ralph and June (Charlton) Coble.
Ms. Humphrey worked for United Airlines from 1967 to 1971. She also taught English at Kent State University and Akron University for 8 years. Most recently she worked at Allstate Insurance Company for 6 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Erica (Brent) Pfeiffer of Kent; granddaughter, Paige Pfeiffer of Kent; mother, June Coble of Akron; brother, David Coble of Virginia; and sisters, Cathron Sims of Pennsylvania and Judy Vincent of California.
Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bissler and Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Patrick Russell officiating. A private burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.

George Dillon, 79
George Emmet Dillon, 79, of Diamond, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna after a short illness.
Born March 9, 1920 in Akron, he was the son of Henry Gail and Stella May (Hohlbalk) Dillon.
Mr. Dillon had owned and operated Dillon Concrete Pipe in Diamond. He previously worked as plant manager at U.S. Concrete Pipe for 25 years.
He was a member of Edinburg United Church and Charity Masonic Lodge No. 530.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of master sergeant. He served in Trinidad.
Survivors include his wife, Judy (Cory), to whom he was married 28 years; sons, William (Patty), Dennis (Debbie), Timothy, Terrance (Linda), and Douglas (Diana), all of Edinburg; 13 grandchildren; brother, Robert Dillon of Atwater; and sister, Mrs. Frank (Mildred) Elliott of Edinburg.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Edinburg United Church, with the Rev. Ruth Chartier officiating. Burial will be in West Cemetery in Palmyra. Arrangements are being handled by Wood-Kortright Funeral home Ravenna Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Edinburg United Church or Palmyra United Methodist Church.

Verna White, 79
Verna L. White, 79, of Ravenna, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna after a short illness.
Born May 16, 1920 in Edinburg, she was the daughter of Marion and Estella (Kurtz) Grund. She had been a Ravenna resident for 33 years.
Mrs. White was a homemaker.
She was a member of Rootstown United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles, to whom she was married 57 years; sons, Jerry of Ravenna and Vernon (Kathy) of Rootstown; daughter, Ruth (William) Beeson of Carrollton, Ohio; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mildred Pierce of Rootstown and Gladys Newcomb of Garrettsville. Three sisters died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Orion Aubihl officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
Memorials may be made to Rootstown United Methodist Church.

Doris Admire, 77
Doris I. Admire, 77, of Kent, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Kent Center in Kent.
Born July 13, 1922, in Akron, she was the daughter of Edward and Melissa (Parker) Herr.
Mrs. Admire was a factory worker with Industrial Mold until she retired.
She was a member of the Maranatha Church in Mogadore.
She enjoyed photography, baseball and the Cleveland Indians.
Survivors include her sons Edward E. (Penny) McHenry of Lake Milton and Kenny Admire of Kent; daughters Melissa (Bert) Styles of Shalersville, Sandy (Bob) Rubbins of Kent, and Gloria (Brian) Admire of Stow; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Leona Bonham and Hilda Wright, both of Ellet, and Atta Messner of Mansfield . Her husband, Harold, died previously. Her daughter, Patricia Black; brother, James Herr; sisters, Thelma Lewis, Florence Aller, and Vernell Hine; and great-granddaughter, Vanessa Mae James, also died previously.
Calling hours will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.

Gloria Rollin, 67
Gloria J. Rollin, 67, of Tallmadge, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000.
Born in Akron, she had been a resident of Tallmadge for 11 years.
Mrs. Rollin was a realtor for Century Realty Co. in Streetsboro.
She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Streetsboro.
Survivors include her husband, Harold, to whom she was married 45 years; son, Mark (Jane) of Shalersville; daughters, Susan (Thomas) Wilhelm of Stow, and Leslie (Martin) Cofojohn and Sara (Scott) Schlea, both of Ravenna; seven grandchildren; brothers, James (Mary) Myers of Akron and Paul (Debbie) Myers of Sommerset, Ohio; and sister, Donna Myers of Akron.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Billow Chapel, 17 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge. Private services will be held . Burial will be in Tallmadge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence following services.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 9042 S.R. 43, Streetsboro, 44241.

Gary V. Latimer, 52
MOGADORE - Gary V. Lattimer, 52, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000.
A life resident of Mogadore, he was the son of Charles and Mabel Lattimer.
Mr. Lattimer was employed with Conrail for 28 years.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 8487.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, to whom he was married 18 years; daughter, Crystal; stepson Rob Leishman; mother, Mabel; brother, Charles (Caren) of Arizona; and sister, Hallie (Bill) Wenzlawsh. His father died in 1979.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home in Akron, with Mark Lattimer officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park, where Mogadore V.F.W. Post No. 8487 will conduct military rites.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court St., Medina, 44256.

Ralph O. Davis, 85
Ralph O. Davis, 85, of Ravenna Township, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
Born Nov. 14, 1914 in Coburn, Va., he was the son of Simon P. and Ida E. Davis.
Mr. Davis was retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co.
He coached basketball for the Field High School girls team and the Firestone Tire & Rubber team. He also was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Velva (Cox), to whom he was married 62 years; sons, James (Jeanne), Dan, and Tom (Karen); daughters, Betty (Bob) Whyler, Joyce Crawford, Mary Davis and Nancy Gaspar; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and brothers, Walton and Chester Davis. Two grandchildren died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road in Akron, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. David Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.

Ethel Fetcho, 78
Ethel Fetcho, 78, of Newton Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at the Autumn Hills Care Center.
Born June 22, 1921 in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Edwin and Jane (Littlewood) Felton. She was a life long resident of Newton Falls.
Mrs. Fetcho was a member of the First Congregational Church of Newton Falls, the Senior Citizens Organization No. 4015 of Newton Falls, and she was a volunteer at the Newton Falls Community Center as a bingo worker.
Survivors include two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Felton of Austintown, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Joseph J. Fetcho, died Nov. 5, 1986. A daughter, Mrs. Donna Bryner, and sisters Mrs. Eleanor Harris and Mrs. Pearl Peterson, also died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Borowski Funeral home, 30 Ridge Road, Newton Falls, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Mark L. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Newton Township Cemetery.

Michael J. Schossler
Michael J. Schossler, 67, formerly of Stow, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
Born Dec. 5, 1932 in Stow, he was the son of Michael K. and Victoria A. (Hank) Schossler.
Mr. Schossler formerly was employed maintaining farm equipment and worked for Superior Farms in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Survivors include his sons, Joe of Cuyahoga Fall and Victor of Tallmadge; daughters, Debbie Schoonover of Stow, Christine of Kent and Catherine Zevenberger of Munroe Falls; brother, John J. of Mantua; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Angeline Clapp of Rootstown, Frances Krzycki of Stalwart, Mich., Marjorie Tomko of Kent, Bertha Kempf of Clarksville, Martha Kirkland of Akron and Carolyne King of Garrettsville. His son, Michael, died previously.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church in Stow. Private burial services have been held at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Bissler & Sons Funeral is handling the arrangements.
