Harry Gibbins
Harry Gibbins, 77, of Israel-Somers Road, Camden, died Friday, June 18, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Preble County, he was the son of Harry C. and Bertha (Nunning) Gibbins. He was a retired Israel Township farmer; a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in College Corner, Ohio, and a past church trustee; and a member of Preble County Farm Bureau Advisory Council #12.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert P. Gibbins, in 1991, and Charles R. "Pat" Gibbins, in 1998.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Martha (Whitesell) Gibbins; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Dianna K. Gibbins of Monroe; daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Raymond Beckett of Miamisburg, Marilyn and Bill Kramer of Springboro; a brother, Thomas Gibbins of Eaton; two sisters, Jane Poos and Betty Gibbins, both of Eaton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were Monday, June 21, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Robert K. Foster officiating. Burial was in Fairhaven Cemetery, Fairhaven.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church in College Corner, or to VITAS of Cincinnati Hospice.

Dan L. Mansfield Sr.
Dan L. Mansfield Sr., 47, of Englewood, died Saturday, June 19, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was employed as a master mechanic with AT&T. He was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church; past master of West Alexandria King Hiram Lodge #88, F&AM; a member of the Scottish Rite of Dayton and the SAL of Randolph Post 707.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Jan (Deaton) Mansfield; a son, Danny L. Mansfield II of Englewood; a daughter, Tiffany K. Mansfield of Englewood; his parents, Chuck Sr. and Betty (Stiffler) Mansfield of West Alexandria.
Also surviving are two sisters, Diana (Mark) Lindloff of West Alexandria and Becky (Curt) Brubaker of Eaton; a brother, Chuck (Lisa) Mansfield Jr. of Springfield; mother-in-law, Carole Deaton of Dayton; a brother-in-law, Mike (Cathy) Deaton of Dayton; nephews, Mark, Clint, Brett, Travis, Drew and Trent; and nieces, Melissa and Stephanie; and best friends, Phil and Jackie Williams of Clayton.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Englewood United Methodist Church, 107 N. Walnut St., Englewood, with the Rev. Robert Klingel and Pastor Ron Dafler officiating. Masonic services were conducted Tuesday evening following viewing at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Unverferth House in Columbus.

Beulah I. Turner
Beulah I. Turner, 86, a former Preble County and Dayton resident, died Monday, June 21, at Trinity Community of Beavercreek.
Born April 26, 1913, in West Manchester, she was the daughter of the late John and Opal (Kirkhoff) Waldren. She was a retired house supervisor from Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. She attended the West Manchester United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Keith K. Turner; three daughters, Phyllis Kahn of Lynden, Wash., Sandra Knodel of Shelby Township, Mich., and Marcia Newhouse of Dayton; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., Eaton, with the Rev. Paul E. Chastain officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.

James F. Mendenhall
James F. Mendenhall, 61, formerly of New Paris, died Monday morning, June 21, at Heartland of Eaton.
Born May 6, 1938, in Richmond, Ind., he was the son of Ivel C. and Gennette (Kayler) Mendenhall. He was a 1956 Jackson High School graduate and had been a custodian for C.R. Coblentz Local School District for 15 years.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn K. and Clem J. Pemberton of Winfield, W. Va.; one niece and two nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., Eaton, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris. The family will receive friends from 1 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society-Preble County Unit.

Darrel L. Buckingham
Memorial services for Darrel L. "Tony" Buckingham, 69, of Centerville, Ohio, who died Sunday, July 25, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Centerville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tony Buckingham Memorial Fund, c/o Kettering Parks Foundation, 3600 Shroyer Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Harry L. Davis
Harry L. "Bud" Davis, 87, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, July 28, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born May 18, 1912, in Lafayette, Ind., he was the son of the late Harry L. Sr. and Katherine (May) Davis. He retired in 1969 from Frigidaire Corp. after 30 years.
Mr. Davis was a life member of the Lewisburg Lions Club, attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg and many functions with the Preble County Senior Citizens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence A. (Imes) Davis, in 1982; and a sister, Geneivie Plummer.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lowell and Gale Davis of York, Pa.; grandchildren, Brad and Kathy Davis of Baltimore, Md., and Tamara Maracotta of Reisterstown, Md.; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Davis and Alaina Maracotta.
Funeral services were Friday, July 30, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. James N. Lehman and the Rev. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery near West Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisburg Emergency Unit.

Elmer Hill
Elmer Hill, 77, of Eaton, died Friday, July 30, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born May 13, 1922, in Owsley, Ky., he was the son of the late Frank and Lucy (Cole) Hill. He retired in 1984 from General Motors in Dayton after 30 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Hill, in 1928.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Pastor Fred and Joyce Hill of Eaton; and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, with Pastor Fred Hill officiating. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Nellie M. Burdge
Nellie M. Hoffman Burdge, 95, died Saturday, July 31, at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton.
Born Sept. 8, 1903, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of Ryle and Katie (Schraub) Leslie. She was a member of the Collinsville Presbyterian Church and a 75-year member of the Collinsville Grange.
She married Albert Hoffman in September 1923 in Butler County, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Edna Mae and Roscoe Benge of Collinsville; a son, Elmer Hoffman of Collinsville; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 3, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, followed by burial in Collinsville Cemetery.

Jean Lloyd
Jean Lloyd, 56, of New Lebanon, died Monday morning, Aug. 2, at Franciscan Medical Center in Dayton, following a sudden illness.
Born Dec. 29, 1942, in Mt. Zion, Ky., she was the daughter of Oscar and Faye (Cornelius) Wise.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Mitchel Lloyd; sons, Mitch Lloyd and wife, Teresa, and their children, Tisha, Jonathan and Alicia, all of West Alexandria, Tom Lloyd of Dallas, Texas, Gary Lloyd and wife, Lori, and their children, Mannon and Garyn, all of Eaton (Lakengren); her parents, Oscar and Fay Wise of New Lebanon; and sister, Joan Schafer of Huber Heights.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Denver Wise; and father-in-law, Howard Lloyd.
Private funeral services will be held for the immediate and extended family and beloved intimate friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35, West Alexandria. Pastor Merle Abrams will officiate. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services.

Mabel I. Breeding
Mabel I. (Hale) Breeding, 76, of Farmersville, died Tuesday, Aug., 10 at Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg.
Born Sept. 12, 1922, she was the daughter of Claude A. and Stella M. (Egleston) Hale. She was a member of the Farmersville United Methodist Church, Germantown Senior Citizens, and both the Germantown and Farmersville Historical Society, and served as a volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank H. Breeding Sr., in 1983; and a son, Gary Breeding, in 1953.
Survivors include four daughters, Dixie (Elbert) Lynch of Carlisle, Linda (Charles) DeBord of Somerville, Marsha (D.R.) Coffman and Wilma Breeding, all of Farmersville; two sons, Frank H. Breeding Jr. of Farmersville and Norman Breeding of Germantown.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Inez Worrell Ernst of Germantown; two brothers, Orville "Wayne" (Barbara) Hale of West Alexandria and Clyde (Betty) Hale of Eaton.
Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 14, at Dalton Funeral Home, Germantown, with Pastor Ted Grotsky officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Farmersville Rescue Squad.

Michael L. Jones
Michael Levi Jones, 18, of Union, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, as the result of a traffic accident.
He was a member of the Northmont High School class of 2000, and attended Miami Valley Career Technology Center.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Terri (Dunlap) and Tom Stafford of Union; his father, Terry Jones and fiancee, Karen Adkins of Eaton; maternal grandmother, Ruth Dunlap; paternal grandmother, Darlene Jones; step-grandparents, Tom and Pat Stafford; a brother, Shawn (Amanda) Jones of Florida; a half sister, Amber Jones; girlfriend, Jennifer Arledge; a special friend, Kenny Phillips; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Dunlap and Robert Jones.
Graveside services were Monday, Aug. 16, at Concord Cemetery near Eaton. Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
