Edith Moran
Edith Moran, 79, of West Fifth Street, Dayton, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at Stouder Hospital in Troy after a short illness.
Born Sept. 13, 1917, in Eaton, she was the daughter of Clarence and Pearl V. (Thomas) Hartrum. She moved to Dayton in 1960, and was a member of the Dayton Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Turner, in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Harold A. "Butch" Moran of West Milton; two
sisters, Clara Noble of Tacoma, Wash., and Myrtle Holmes of Portsmouth, Va.; a brother, Marion Hartrum of Dayton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with the Rev. Richard Van Tine officiating. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

C. Robert Cochran
C. Robert Cochran, 82, of 2086 Scheyhing Road, Lewisburg, died Monday evening, Feb. 17, 1997, at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton.
Born Aug. 10, 1914, in Richmond, Ind., he was the son of Charles L. and Clara (Gochenour) Cochran, and had lived in Preble County most of his life.
He was an accountant with his own tax service, retired in 1979 from H.F. Hawkins & Sons of Brookville, and was a farmer in Preble County. During the 1970s, he served on Twin Valley District School Board; was the youngest charter member of the Eaton Church of the Brethren, serving on many committees of the church; and was a Preble County 4-H advisor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha E. Cochran, in 1996; a son, Mark Cochran, in 1954; and two sisters, Mildred Holland, in 1943, and Marguerite Holly, in 1994.
Survivors includes two sons, Gary Cochran of Farmersville and Jon Cochran of Round Lake, N.Y.; three daughters, Sonya Molique of Prescott, Ariz., Beth Brumbaugh of Eaton and Robin Smith of Lewisburg; two sisters, Mary Cahalane of Eaton and Glenna Long of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Eaton Church of the Brethren, 1407 N. Barron St., Eaton, with the Rev. Greg A. Hyre officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 21, from 5-7 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Church of the Brethren.

Martha J. Railsback
Martha J. Railsback, 83, of 5790 Denlinger Road, Trotwood, formerly of Eaton, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Friendship Village in Trotwood, where she had resided since July 1989.
Born Jan. 26, 1914, in Richmond, Ind., she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Mary W. (Webb) Price. She was a 1932 graduate of Morton High School in Richmond and had attended Ball State Teachers College in Muncie, Ind. She had taught at Dixon and Eaton City Schools, and retired from teaching after 35 years.
Mrs. Railsback was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eaton and the Preble County Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ross Railsback, in 1995; and a son, Thomas Webb Railsback, in 1985.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David E. and Sue S. Railsback of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; and two grandchildren, David E. Railsback of Columbus and Blythe L. Railsback of Adelanto, Calif.
Graveside services were conducted at the convenience of the family at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 123 W. Decatur St., Eaton

Walter A. Hartman
Walter A. Hartman, 84, of Camden, died Monday afternoon, Feb. 24, 1997, at Columbia Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla., where he had been a patient for four days.
He was born Aug. 28, 1912, in Middletown, and was a lifetime resident of this area. He had been an auctioneer for 47 years and had been in the real estate business from 1957 to the present. He retired in 1966 as a roll grinder from Armco in Middletown after 34 years of service.
Mr. Hartman was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, past president of the Ohio Auctioneers Association (1972), a member of the National Auctioneers Association, Antioch Shriners, Masonic Lodge in Middletown and Camden, Elks Lodge #257 of Middletown, IOOF of Gratis, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruby Hartman; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Peggy Hartman of Middletown; four grandchildren, Janice Hartman and Lori Hartman, both of Middletown, Julie Hartman of Trenton and Bill (Dawn) Hartman of Lebanon.
Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Jon Hartman of Trenton, Amy Morgan of Middletown and Allison Hartman of Lebanon; two sisters, Della Cunningham of Middletown and Mary I. Brown of Hillsboro; and one aunt, Mary Schatz of Middletown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ada (Shannon) Hartman; and one brother, Howard Hartman.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 28, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, Middletown, with the Rev. Daniel Graham officiating. Burial was in Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Crippled Children and Burns Institute, Cincinnati, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

William H. Davis
William H. Davis, 65, of Dayton, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born Jan. 17, 1932, in Careyville (Knox County), Ky., he was the son of John T. and Lura (Pridemore) Davis. He retired in 1993 from the Dayton Daily News and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by two infant sons; 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Rachel May (Hepner) Davis, formerly of the Lewisburg area; three daughters, Sherry Darlene Shouse of Piqua, Linda Jean Murphy of Dayton and Terri Ann Clark of New Lebanon.
Also surviving are six stepchildren, Judy Lynn Pennington of Miamisburg, Jay Lewayne Philpot of Cincinnati, Lon Edward Philpot of Greenville, Jerald Lee Philpot, Jerry Dale Philpot and David Leroy Philpot, all of Dayton; one brother, Harvey L. Davis of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; 25 stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Morrow
Stanley "Mike" Morrow, 78, formerly of Camden, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at Oxford View Nursing Home in Oxford, where he had resided for six years.
Born July 5, 1918, in Preble County, he was the son of Clyde and Winifred (Austin) Morrow. He attended Camden schools and was a self-employed farmer in the Preble County area for many years.
He married Jane C. Fisher in 1939 in Liberty, Ind., and she preceded him in death on May 15, 1976.
Survivors include five children, Georgeanna Morrow of Camden, Marjorie (Gene) Pohlschneider of Piqua, James C. (Elaine) Morrow of Camden, John (AnnMarie) Morrow of Oxford and Jeffrey Morrow of Camden; four grandchildren, Jim D. (Beth) Morrow of Somerville, Brent, Chris and Stacey Smith, all of Piqua; five great-grandchildren, Savannah, Alan James and Michael Morrow, and Ryan and Michelle Smith; and two sisters, Helen Morris of Cincinnati and Florence Snowden of Camden.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 1, at R.C. Nein and Sons Funeral Home, Camden, with the Rev. Greg Jackson officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.

Willard E. Kelley
Willard E. Kelley, 86, of Camden, died Monday evening, Feb. 24, 1997, at Governor Harris Homestead in Eaton.
Born March 31, 1910, in Butler County, he was the son of Joseph and Lucy (Pallman) Kelley. He had been employed as a bridge foreman with the Preble County Highway Department for 15 years, and had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Doris and Gibby Saylor, and Norma Pettus, all of Camden; three sons and daughter-in-law, Donald Kelley of Garden Grove, Calif., Gerald Kelley of Middletown, Steve and Amy Kelley of Centerville, Ohio.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Martha Wirtley of Seven Mile; and one brother, Herbert Kelley of Middletown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1982; a sister, Edna Hoffman; and three brothers, Clarence, Frank and Harry Kelley.
Funeral services were Monday, March 3, at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, Middletown, with the Rev. Jacqueline Smith officiating. Burial was in Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton, with American Legion Post #218 Color Guard providing military honors.

Houston E. Bundy
Houston Edward "Ed" Bundy, 65, of Enterprise Road, West Alexandria, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, at his home.
Born June 28, 1931, in Dayton, he was the son of Houston Davis and Mary Kathryn (Zwiesler) Bundy. He was a self-employed motorcycle repairman since 1966, was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the Dayton Family Campers.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Joanne (Finn) Bundy; his mother, Mary K. Bundy of Brookville; sons and daughter-in-law, Steven E. and Charee Bundy of West Manchester and Terry D. Bundy of West Alexandria; daughters, Cheri Y. Bundy of Columbus and Christine M. Perkins of West Alexandria.
Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanie E. and Frank White of Lee, Fla.; grandchildren, Terry "T.J." Perkins and April N. Bogart, both of West Alexandria, Steven Erik and Justin Wade Bundy, both of West Manchester; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billie Bundy, in 1934.
Funeral services were Monday, March 3, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Mark Gardner officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Alexandria Emergency Squad, to the American Cancer Society-Preble County Unit, or to the American heart Association-Preble County Unit.

Mary L. Riley
Mary Louise (Taylor) Riley, 64, formerly of Eaton, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997, at her home in Bradenton, Fla., where she had resided since 1968.
Born Aug. 13, 1932, in Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles and Nannie (Smith) Taylor.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph, whom she married Sept. 2, 1949; four daughters, Sandra West of Camden, Sharon Pawelkop, Sheryl McKee and Susan Riley of Bradenton, Fla.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Margaret Lindsey of Eaton and Roberta Gilbert of Las Vegas, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Russell, in 1983; and a sister, Sylvia Shafer, in 1965.
Funeral services will be held at the family's convenience in Bradenton, Fla.
