V. June Grimm
V. June Grimm, 79, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday morning, Dec. 11, 2001 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born Jan. 10, 1922 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Reed. On Nov. 21, 1940 she married John Grimm who preceded her in death in 1984.
Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and John Kellough, Sebastian, FL, a grandson, Kenneth L. Farrar, Chillicothe, great grandsons, Kenneth L. Farrar, II and Jonathon Thomas Farrar. Her parents and a brother, George D. Reed preceded her in death.
Mrs. Grimm was an employee of U.S. Shoe Corp., retiring in 1982. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries, Eagles Aerie # 600, the Ross County Senior Citizens and was a devoted volunteer at Adena Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Bibler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 6 to 8 pm on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross County Senior Citizens.

John Milton LeMaster
John Milton LeMaster, 68, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 12, 1933 in Ross County, the son of Cam and Sarah Skaggs LeMaster. In 1951, he married Rita Smith, who preceded him in death in 1986. In 1988, he married Ruth Kennison, who preceded him in death in 1999.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Chris Boyer, Science Hill, KY, Patricia and Kevin Vernier and Paula and Greg Soummers, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, David, Shelly and Eric France, Jonathon, Jerrad and Jordan Bowdle, Amber and Jerimiah Vernier and Joshua Sickels, great grandchildren, Clayton Wescott, Trey Hatfield, Lexie and Nadia Brown and Cameron Grace Bowdle, a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Lee Chenault, Tampa, FL, sisters in law, Ida Mae Harper and Maxine (Charles) Haskins, all of Chillicothe, brothers-in-law, Denver (Mariam) Kennison and Robert Seymour, all of Chillicothe and Sonny (Rita) Kennison, TN and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Penny Jo LeMaster, a grandchild, Jacob Sickels and several sisters and brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. LeMaster served his country for more than 20 years in the U.S. Army, during the Korean and Vietnam eras as a medical specialist, serving two tours of Vietnam and retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Jefferson Ave. Church of Christ in Christian Union, the American Legion Post 62, the VFW Post 108 and AMVETS Post 4.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 5 to 8 pm on Sunday.

Janice Elaine Smith
Janice Elaine Smith, 61, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Monday evening, Dec. 17, 2001 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 8, 1940 in Pickaway County, the daughter of Dano and Stella Strausbaugh Seymour.
Surviving is her step-father, Ralph Winner, Chillicothe, sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Deborah Dyer, Beallsville, OH and David and Shelley Dyer, Chillicothe, a son, Michael Dyer, Chillicothe, step-daughters, Tara and Betsy Smith, a step-son, Travis Smith, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Cassandra, Dustin, Olivia, Deanna, Tiffany and Austin Dyer, a dearly loved sister, Melony and husband, Merle Morton, Chillicothe, many special friends, including Sharon Foltz, Annette Poling and Annie Clemmons and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, who she loved very much.
Janice was the manager of the Buckeye Lounge. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed he family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Charleston Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm on Friday.

Evelyn Mary Henderson
Evelyn Mary Henderson, 93, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Thursday morning, January 24, 2002 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born July 24, 1908 in Jackson County, the daughter of Hugh and Retta Mack Mullen. She was married to John B. Henderson, who preceded her in death January 7, 1967.
Surviving is a son, Johnie W. Henderson, Chillicothe, a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald F. and Judy Henderson, Jackson, four grandchildren and a great grandchild. Her parents, sisters, Alta Steece and Liza Campbell and brothers, Clay Mullen and Harry Mack preceded her in death.
Mrs. Henderson had been a cook for the B & O Railroad. She was a member of the Ross County Senior Citizens.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 28, 2002 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday.

Emmet E. Hawkins
Emmett E. Hawkins, 74, of Chillicothe, formerly of Dayton, passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002 at his residence. He was born Nov. 7, 1927 in Chillicothe, the son of Frank E. and Eva White Hawkins.
Surviving is a sister and brother-in-law, Georgia "Janie" and David Park, Chillicothe, a sister, Shirley Beery, Las Vegas, NV and several nieces and nephews. His parents and a son, Kenneth Paul Hawkins preceded him in death.
Mr. Hawkins was a retired employee of Delco in Dayton with 42 years of service. He was a life member of Eagles Aerie 600, Chillicothe, a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and was a member of the Delco Rifle and Trapshooting Team.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, Jan. 7, 2002 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort with Rev. David Brown officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family.

Helen M. Carroll
Helen M. Carroll, 83, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 15, 2002 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton following an extended illness. She was born Jan. 14, 1919 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Daniel and Marguerite Gutekunst. On Aug. 9, 1941 she married Ira Ivan Carroll, who preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1991.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda Cox and John Cochenour, Chillicothe, grandchildren, Christopher Cox, Kevin and his wife, Becky Cox and Timmy Cox and his girlfriend, Kerrie Fields, great grandchildren, Leeanna Cox, Kristen Cox, Kortney Cox and Alyssa Fields and a special friend, Juanita Soummers, Chillicothe. Her parents and a brother, Paul Gutekunst preceded her in death.
Mrs. Carroll was a former employee of U.S. Shoe Corporation.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, Jan. 18, 2002 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 pm until the hour of service on Friday.

Juanita R. Zanka
Juanita R. Zanka, 88, of McHenry, Il, formerly of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday evening, Jan 27, 2002 in the Crystal Pines Health Care Center, Crystal Lake, IL. She was born Aug. 30, 1913 in Fayette County, the daughter of Charles E. and Bessie B. Faulds Smart. She was married to Henry R. Zanka, who preceded her in death in 1991.
Surviving are 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Elva and R. C. Davis, Chillicothe, a sister, Charlene E. Scott, Londonderry, several nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law, Alberta Smart, Chillicothe and a brother-in-law, John Sheets, Bainbridge. Her parents, a daughter, Patricia, a sister and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Zanka was a retired employee of Griffith Laboratories, Alsip, IL with 32 years of service.
The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday. Following cremation, graveside services will be held in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Carolyn Ann Myers
Carolyn Ann Myers, 51, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 6, 2002 in Grant Medical Center, Columbus following an extended illness. She was born July 28, 1950 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Tommy and Bessie Butcher Keller. She was married to Ronald Eugene Myers who survives.
Also surviving is her father, sisters, Betty (Charlie) Brandenburg, Barbara (Greg) Ison, Mary (Clyde) Rogers and Norma Tatman, all of Chillicothe, brothers, Gary Keller, Aire (Diane) Keller, Billy Keller, David (Rita) Keller and Johnny Keller, all of Chillicothe, sisters-in-law, Karen (Mike) Barnhart, Londonderry, Charlotte (Ralph) Frye, Jackson, Darlene (Larry) Barnhart, Chillicothe and Luann (Gary) Schultz, Waverly, a brother-in-law, Ralph Myers and several nieces and nephews. Her mother, brother, sister, mother-in-law and father-in-law and a brother-in-law preceded her in death.
Mrs. Myers had attended the Open Door Christian Fellowship and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Eagles Aerie 600.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. James Cuckler officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Everett L. Carver
Everett L. Carver, 76, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Monday morning, Feb. 25, 2002 in the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born Apr. 8, 1925 in Lewis County, KY, the son of Charley C. and Grace E. Evans Carver. On June 19, 1971 he married Evelyn Taylor Skinner, who survives.
Also surviving are his former wife, Maxine Johnson Garrison, Circleville, a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki L. and Ronald Dean, Johnstown, a son and daughter-in-law, Eric L. and Karen H. Carver, Chillicothe, step-daughters and step-sons-n-law, Rebecca and Don Barnhart, Londonderry, Sandra and Larry Bovard, Commercial Point and Jenny and Mike Ater, Chillicothe, a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Michael and Sarah Skinner, West Carrollton, grandchildren, David W. Dean, Aaron Barnhart, Sam and Elise Bovard, Racheal, Megan, Lindsey and Tyler Watson, a sister, Lora M. Sparks, Beaver, a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Lonnie Gilkerson, Columbus, sister-in-law, Virginia Carver, Chillicothe, a former sister-in-law and her husband, Norma and Ralph Peniston, Chillicothe, several nieces and nephews and special friends, George and June Haubeil, Chillicothe and the Bereans of Tabernacle Baptist Church. His parents, 2 sisters and 5 brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Carver was a supervisor for Wear-Ever with over 36 years of service, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, the Antique Car Club of Southern Ohio and the Southern Ohio Ford Club.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Goldie Cook Basye
Goldie Cook Basye, 67, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Saturday evening, Feb. 23, 2002 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born Sept. 5, 1934 in Ross County, the daughter of John and Roxie Bridenbaugh Cook.
Surviving is her former husband, Paul Basye, a daughter, Shena Sykes and her companion, Steven Tilton, sons, Paul Basye and Ronald Basye, all of Chillicothe, five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two sisters, including Naomi and her husband, Robert Parker, Williamsport, two brothers, including Homer and his wife, Elsie Cook, Chillicothe, a close friend, Arvil Stevens, Waverly, several nieces and nephews and a special great niece, Natasha and a great nephew, Alex. Her parents, a sister and a brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Basye was a former Chillicothe school crossing guard and was a volunteer at Adena Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 am until the hour of service on Wednesday.
