Alva McCoy, Jr.
Alva McCoy, Jr. 80 of Chillicothe, died 11:15 PM, Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born April 23, 1924 in Washington Court House, the son of the late Alva and the late Grace Wilson McCoy. February 21, 1942, he married the former Elaine Houser who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter and her fiancée, Shirley McCoy and Rodney Woods both of Chillicothe; two grand daughters, Angella (Chad) Galloway and Michelle Hougland ; four great grandchildren, Zachary and Kyle Bethel, Brittany Hougland, and Madison Galloway; one sister Anna Lee Ritter, Columbus; a special sister-in-law, Joy Houser, Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Mr. McCoy retired from Kenworth Truck Company in 1986. He played in several country music bands for many years, and an avid racing fan, attending races at KC Raceway almost every Saturday night.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday May 3, 2004 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Calling Hours will not be observed.

Geraldine M. Bradbury
Geraldine M. Bradbury, 74, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2004 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 19, 1930 in Muncie, IN, the daughter of Delbert and Clova Pierce DeVore. On Aug. 15, 1953 she married Wilbur M. Bradbury who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1980.
Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Ineth and Joe Wright, Waverly, a daughter, Tracy L. Bradbury, Chillicothe, grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie, Jason, Brady, William, Lacie, Kaycie and Montana, great grandchildren, Bryanna and Kyle, and special friends, Dave and Cindy Mitchell and family, Chillicothe. Her parents and a son, Dennis N. Bradbury preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bradbury had been an employee of Buckeye Mart and Hart’s Department Store, retiring in 1979.
Private funeral services will be held at the discretion of the family, with burial in Pennisten Cemetery, Pike County. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Beverly E. Imboden
Beverly E. Imboden, 67, of Chillicothe, died 6:38 pm, Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born July 9, 1937 in Pickaway County, the daughter of the late Herbert and the late Gladys Jane Graham Southward. On November 22, 1962, she married Robert Imboden who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Robert Wing, Lancaster, OH and Becky and Brian Duke, Berrien Springs, MI; four grandchildren, Michael Wing and Alexia Wing, Lancaster; and Breanne Duke and Abby Duke, Pickerington; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and John Lake, Circleville; and Vicki and Bruce McConnell, Zanesville; one brother and sister-in-law, Rodger and Patty Southward, Ashville; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane and Dennis Shorr, Logan; one brother-in-law Jim Kokai, Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. One sister, Brenda Kokai preceded her in death.
Mrs. Imboden was a graduate of the White Cross School of Nursing, Class of 1958. October 1991 she retired as a Public Health Nurse by the Ross County General Health District, retiring October 1991. She a member of the Ross County Multiple Sclerosis Support Group, and avid bridge enthusiast, and was an active member of the Greater Scioto Valley Emmaus Community and United Methodist Women, holding offices in both the local and district level. Beverly was a faithful and devoted member of her church, Trinity United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, September 13, 2004 with Reverend Tad Grover officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM, Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Ross County Unit of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, or the Hospice of Adena Health Systems.

Robert N. Stoneburner
Robert N. Stoneburner, 67, of Maplewood Drive went to be with his Lord 1:00 am Tuesday April 2,2002 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a short illness. He was born July 17, 1934 in Ross County to the late Nias & Veda Shafer Stoneburner he is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Ruby Rollins and children Brenda Arledge of Kingston, Nan and husband Tom Stanton of Chillicothe, Cathy and husband Tom Sweptson of Chillicothe, Tracy and husband Mark Laub of Cirlcleville, June and husband Carl Weaver of Chillicothe and Jack and wife Sue Rollins Columbus, 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son and two daughters. Bob attended the Corinth Christian Church in Ray, OH and retired Feb. 28, 2000 from the Mead Corporation, where he had worked for 47 years. He was a member of UPIU local 731 and was a very avid bowler.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 am Friday with Pastor Leland Benson officiating in the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Wares from 6-9pm Thursday. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to any organization that gives comfort and aid to children.

Stella C. Peck
Stella C. Peck, 79, of Chillicothe, died Thursday morning in Adena Regional Medical Center.

Norva H. Radabaugh
Norva H. Radabaugh, 86, of Piketon, died 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Pleasant Hill Manor, Piketon.

Robert E. Brooks
Robert E. "Bob" Brooks, age 87, of Circleville, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Circleville.
He was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Chillicothe, son of the late John V. and Stella M. (Hickman) Brooks.
He was a retired sales manager with Phillip Morris with 30 years of service; a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II; a member of American Legion Post 3331; a Kentucky Colonel; member and past president of the Pickaway Country Club and was an avid golfer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Jim and Dean Brooks; one sister, Betty Haney. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Evelyn (Buskirk) Brooks; sons, Bill (Donna) Brooks, of Greenville, Texas and Randy L. (Vicki) Brooks, of Grove City; grandchildren, Kirsten and Tony Brooks and Shannon Morrison; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Adams, Tyler Wooten and Taylor Brooks; sister, Margie Stubbs, of Galloway; brothers, Ronnie (Jeannie) Brooks, of Chillicothe, David (Shirley) Brooks, of Cape Coral, Fla. and Richard Brooks, of Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, in the chapel of the Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul E. Elswick officiating. At his request, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Chillicothe, at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Berneda (Whetstone) Carter
Berneda (Whetstone) Carter, age 96, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Heartland of Centerville.

Homer Evans
Homer Evans, 77, of Tong Hollow Road, Bainbridge, died 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at his residence.
He was born May 29, 1925, in Webb, W.Va., the son of Joshua and Ellen Griffith Evans. He was united in marriage Aug. 25, 1955, to Bertha Skaggs, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Beverly (Mike) Shoemaker, of Waverly; two sons, David (Cathy) Evans and Kendall (Anna) Evans, all of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and two great-granddaughters; ten brothers and sisters, Helen McDaniel, of Hillsboro, Mildred Lytle and Bessie Clements, both of Bainbridge, Birdie Potter, of Idaho, John B. Holbert, of Bainbridge, Margaret Southers, of Waverly, Belva Montgomery, of Bainbridge, Susie McKenzie, of Beaver and Eva Rapp and Joe Holbert, both of Bainbridge; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, a grandchild, a sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at the Smith-Moore Funeral Home, Bainbridge, with Pastor James Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations be given to Adena Hospice, 111 West Water Street, Chillicothe.

Roger A. Williams
Roger A. Williams, 42, of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, unexpectedly.
He was born Aug. 10, 1959, in Chillicothe, to Robert C. and Marilyn F. Detty Williams. He was married to Hariette Hastings, who survives, of Columbus.
Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Charles R. Keiser, with whom he lived; sons, Joshua Williams, of Ada, Ohio, Roger A. Williams II, of Chillicothe; daughters, Amber Williams, of Dayton and Cory Williams, of Portsmouth; a stepson, Charlie Bradley, of Covington, Ky.; brothers, Robert E. Williams, of Indiana, Rick Williams, of Chillicothe and Joe Keiser, of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Roni Altier, of Lancaster; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father.
Roger was a construction worker.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in the Springbank Cemetery, with Pastor Dwayne Gibson officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home.

Leo Penn
Leo Penn, 79 of Greenfield, died Friday at his residence.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, Greenfield. Burial will follow at Greenfield Cemetery where military rites will be performed by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

Wilbur W. Smith
Wilbur W. Smith, 76, of Wakefield, Thursday at the Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth.
