Jack Kelly, 40, of Chillicothe, is also survived by a special niece, Amanda Jo Robinson, who was incorrectly listed previously.

Freeda Steiner Rumbaugh
The celebration of Freeda Steiner Rumbaugh's life in Jesus Christ will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church (University Drive) in Chillicothe, Ohio on Tuesday, August 26th at 12 p.m. with Pastor Joel Hess officiating. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she attended regularly.
Freeda, 87, was born March 31, 1916, and passed away Sunday, August 24, 2003, at her home from an extended illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Ellsworth Mahlon and Sadie Scott Steiner, her husband, Earl Rumbaugh, sister Gwendolyn Johns, brother Myron Fremont Steiner, son-in-law George Ginter, niece Pauline Arnold and nephew Myron Benner.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ginter-Webb and son- in-law David L. Webb. Also, she is survived by granddaughters Sadie (Ginter) and Jim Strawser of Albany, Ohio, Mary (Ginter) and Perry Edwards of Nettleton, Mississippi; grandsons George Mahlon and Tammy Ginter of Kingston, Ohio, Eric and Jamie Ginter of Sylvester, Georgia, David Ginter of Grove City, Ohio; great-granddaughters, Tricia and Scott Holloway, Amber Ginter; great-grandsons James Steiner Strawser, Cody Ginter, and Ryan Ginter, and great-great grandson Noah Holloway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Adena Health System.
The family would like to thank Hospice nurses, aides, and volunteers. We would also like to thank Southern Ohio Cardiology Associates, Dr. Douglas Folzenlogen, Pastor Joel Hess, family, friends and neighbors for their support during her illness.

Helen F. McKeever
Helen F. McKeever, 91, of Chillicothe, died Sunday in Mapleview Manor, Bainbridge.
Arrangements are being completed by Haller Funeral Home.

Alma L. Case, 81, of Bainbridge, formerly of Mansfield, died 12:22 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2003, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.

Gary Edwin Long
Gary Edwin Long, age 66, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at 7:01 p.m. in the Adena Regional Medical Center.

Ronald E. Parks
Ronald E. Parks, 67, of Logan, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2003, at Arcadia Acres Nursing home, Logan, Ohio.

Fred A. Penwell
Fred A. Penwell, 63, of Greenfield, died 7:10 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2003, at his daughter's home in Greenfield. more »

David L. Rhoads
David L. Rhoads, age 68, of Circleville, died Sunday, September 14, 2003, after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Fred W. Cottrill
Fred W. Cottrill, 79, of Chillicothe, died Tuesday morning September 16, 2003 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born August 26, 1924, in Ross County, to the late Emmitt and Georgia Smart Cottrill.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Sue (Daniel) Moore, of Chillicothe; sons, John E. Cottrill, of Chillicothe and Kenneth E. (Carol) Cottrill, of Bourneville; eight grandchildren including Derrick McCluskey whom they raised; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elsie A. Grubb who died September 19, 1994; a brother, James Cottrill; and an infant brother.
Fred served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 757. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2003 in Twin Township Cemetery, Bourneville followed by military graveside rites by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (today).

Mildred P. Hixon
Mildred P. Hixon, 92, of Chillicothe, died 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2003, in the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness.
She was born November 24, 1910, in Ross County, to the late William M. and Ida Taylor Ludwig. On August 22, 1929, she married Gordon E. Hixon, who died March 25, 1976.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet H McGee, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Karin McGee (Kenneth) Kempton, Bobbie (Bill) Molebash and Nancy L. McGee, all of Chillicothe, Jackie (Trevor) Johnson, of Lakewood, CO, and Gordon Jr. (Angela) Hixon and Chris (Silvia) Hixon, all of Tucson, AZ; 11 great-grandchildren; two great great-granddaughters; a sister-in-law, Rhoda C. Hixon of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Gordon C. Hixon; a brother, William C. Ludwig; sisters, Mabel McVicker and Edna Groom; and a son-in-law, Robert W. McGee.
Mildred was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and was a longtime member of OES Chapter 419. She was a secretary at Mead and Chillicothe Motor Express and was organist for several local churches.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2003, in the Ware Funeral Home, with Rev. Carol Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Main and Mulberry, Chillicothe, OH 45601.

Michael J. Rourke
Michael J. Rourke, 65, of Chillicothe died September 16, 2003 in his home unexpectedly.
He was born April 15, 1938 in North Hampton, Mass. to Michael J. and Mary McDermott Rourke. On September 5, 1964 he married Linda K. Hurff, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Lisa (Dave) Ramsey, of Miamisburg; Erik Rourke, of Berea, KY; Shelly (Jason) Jones, and Travis (Mycah) Rourke, all of Chillicothe; 5 grandchildren, Seth, Brady, and Sydney Ramsey, Michael and Patrick Rourke; 3 sisters, Mary (Jean) deKernion, Pacific Palisades, CA, Anne Rourke, of Indianapolis, IN, and Joan Rourke, of Cincinnati, OH; 3 brothers, John (Katie) Rourke, of Chillicothe, Richard (Jesus) Rourke, of San Diago, Chili; and Kevin (Jane) Rourke, of Cornwall, NY; several nieces and nephews; two aunts, Joan Howieson, of Augusta, MN and Betty McDermott, of Jekyl Island, GA.
Mr. Rourke was a US Marine and had retired from Mead Central Research after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Lazarus Committee, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and President of the Scioto Valley Habitat for Humanity.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 am in St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Buiral will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 pm Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or Habitat for Humanity, c/o St. Mary Church, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.

Beatrice Wright
Beatrice Wright (Hoylman), age 85, of Chillicothe, was taken into the Lord's arms on Sept. 19, 2003, at Mt. Carmel East, following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Ross County, the daughter of James and Gertrude (Van Buskirk) Hoylman. She was married to Henry H. Wright for 65 years.
Bea was a mother of four, a grandmother of 12, great-grandmother of 11 and friend to anyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Wright, brothers Rome (Effie) Hoylman and Ralph (Irene) Hoylman; sisters Lou Emma (Clair) Steiner and Ruth (Jerry) Templin; granddaughter Kara King; and grandsons Joel Wright and Bob Wright. She is survived by her brother, George (Dorothy) Hoylman, sisters Lillian (Jack) Smith and Virginia Reeves. Also surviving are her four children Mary Jane (Willard) Kellis, Harold (Nancy) Wright, Bill (Susan) Wright and Sharon Schneider.
She was a long-time member of the Adena Road Church of Christ. She retired after 40 years working at the U.S. Shoe Factory. She also enjoyed seven years of part-time work at the Big Bear bakery. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday Sept. 22, 2003, at the Adena Road Church of Christ, with Rev. John Creamer officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at Fawcett-Oliver Glass & Palmer funeral home Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, from 5 to 7 p.m.
