Jackie Newlun Locke
Jackie Newlun Locke, 48, of Frankfort, died Friday evening in her home following a brief illness.
Arrangements are being completed by the Haller Funeral Home.

James Arlo Mowbray
James Arlo Mowbray, age 88, of Bainbridge died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003 at 5:15 a.m. at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 25, 1915 the son of the late James Woodson and Lillie Belle Edwards Mowbray. On Aug. 10, 1940 at South Salem, her married his wife of 63 years, the former Evelyn Jane Copper, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Carolyn Mowbray Glandon Peplow and a foster son, E. Richard (Cindy) Borland all of Frankfort; grandchildren, Jane Marie Hollon and James Michael Glandon, foster grandchildren, Ryan Dale(Heather) Borland and Wendi Allison(Garrett) Parker, great-grandchildren, Heather (Dwayne) Walker, Heidi Hollon, Nic Glandon, foster great- grandchild, Colbi Grace Borland, great-great-grandchildren, Alex, Alyssa and Andrew Walker, Lester Dale Corcoran. Arlo was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Florence Mowbray, Kathryn Bumgarner, and Ellen Loy and 1 brother Ernest Mowbray.
In 1979, Arlo retired from Mead Corporation where he worked as a pressman in the Print Shop for 32 years. He was a dedicated Christian serving as First Elder and Sunday School teacher for many, many years at Fruit Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was a Licensed Ham Radio Operator serving Ross County during emergency disasters. He was a member of the Morning Amateur Radio Group, call letters K8ZWZ. Arlo made many friends all over the world giving pleasure to all with his cheerful voice and good humor. He will be missed by countless friends and family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. in Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, OH 45601. A special thanks to Hospice for their help, care and support.

Martha Helen Beyer
Martha Helen Beyer, 81, of Waverly, died Sunday, at Adena Regional Medical Center, in Chillicothe.
Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Village Foundation, Resident Fund, 660 E. Fifth Street, Waverly, OH.

Everett B. Clemmons
Everett B. Clemmons, 83, of Piketon, died Sunday, at Pike Community Hospital, Waverly.
Arrangements pending Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly.

James I. Driggs, Sr.
On Sunday, October 12, 2003, at 4:20 a.m., our Heavenly Father wrapped loving arms around His loyal servant and carried him home.
James I. Driggs, Sr., 75, of Chillicothe , was born to the late Brady and Nellie Driggs, on February 17, 1928, in New Martinsville, WV. He was preceded in death by his faithful wife of 39 years, Margaret (Kohn), with whom he was united in marriage on March 29, 1958.
Dad will be greatly missed by his children, James and Shelley Driggs, Jr., Jill and Mike Bowers, Jerry and Cyndy Driggs, Jeff and Lori Driggs, Joy and Jay Schankman and JoAnna and Jamie Taylor. He will be fondly remembered by his treasured grandchildren, Alyssa, Katie, Casey, Ben, Phil, Tyler, Janae, Caleb, Lance, Levi, Jessy, Matthew, Evan, Nathaniel and Alayna.
He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Jean and Lee Rayer, Mary Francis Black, Bill Joe Driggs, Bob Driggs, Dave Driggs; brother-in-law, Elden "Buck" Heath; and a daughter from a previous marriage, Patricia Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Ann Heath and an infant brother.
Our Father was a long time member of Chillicothe Baptist Church, where he faithfully served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Mead in 1990, with nearly 40 years of service. He also enjoyed his time spent as a Wal-Mart greeter.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2003, in the Chillicothe Baptist Church, with the Reverend John Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (today), October 14.
In lieu of flowers, Jim requested that contributions be made to the Chillicothe Baptist Church, Investing in Eternity Program.

Shirley L. Hill
Shirley L. Hill, 58, of Chillicothe, died Friday, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Greenlawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home.

Jackie Newlun Locke
Jackie Newlun Locke, 48, of Frankfort, died at 11:10 p.m. Friday October 10, 2003, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born April 17, 1955, in Chillicothe to Dale "Ike" and Phyllis Cochenour Newlun. On July 10, 1977, she married James A. Locke, who survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Angela Locke, Frankfort; son, Brad Locke, Columbus; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Terina Locke, Frankfort; her mother and step-father, Phyllis and George Baker; step-son and his wife, Kerry and Ursula Locke, Calif.; step-grandson, Gavin Locke; maternal grandmother, Rachel Cochenour; brother, Darrell Newlun; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Tammy Newlun; step-sister, Peggy Marcum; step-brother, George Baker III; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale "Ike" Newlun, and a brother, Dale Roy Newlun.
Jackie attended the Westside Church of the Nazarene and worked as a beautician for Heartland Nursing Home and Traditions. She loved visiting with the patients and helping them look and feel good about themselves through her work. She passed away peacefully at her home and will be greatly missed.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2003, at the Westside Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Derek Catron officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, OH. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Haller Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church Thursday.

Elizabeth H. Mitchell
Elizabeth H. Mitchell, 81, of Westmoreland Place, formerly of 95 W. 5th St., went to be with our Lord at 6:20 p.m. October 11, 2003, in Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 31, 1921, in Ross Co., to the late Frederick L. and Mabel V. (Johnson) Menefee. On April 12, 1943, she married William J. Mitchell, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 18, 1988.
Surviving are her children, Sheila (Hobart) Austin, William J. Mitchell, Elvis (Lynette) Mitchell, all of Chillicothe, Jan (Bonnie) Robinson and Luther Robinson, all of Orchard Park, NY; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Anne Menefee and Rosemary (Lawrence) Brown, all of Chillicothe, and Jackie Hairston, of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Jan (Delores) Menefee, Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Willa Jean Newsome; brothers, Lavon and Freddie Menefee; a grandson, Christopher Mitchell; a foster daughter, Constance (Davis) Austin; and a foster grandson, Michael Austin. She will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of St. Mary Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2003, Fr. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m.

Evelyn L. Peart
Evelyn L. Peart, 80, of Chillicothe, formerly of Circleville, died Saturday, at Westmoreland Place.
A memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.

Joe E. Walley
Joe E. Walley, 77, of Bainbridge, died 8:18 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2003, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born June 24, 1926, in Ross County, to the late Benner C. and Christine Purdum Walley. He was married to the former Charlene Salt, who survives.
Also surviving are children, Becky (Gary) Dyke, Cindy (Jeff) Shaw and Scott Walley; grandchildren, Amy (Larry) Schwallie, Kelly (Terry) Wheaton, Mandy (Scott) Kenz and Cody Shaw; step-grandchildren, Scott (Debbie) Dyke and Todd (Amber) Dyke; great grandchildren, Christopher Graves, Hannah Wheaton and Michael Schwallie; step great grandchildren, Hailey and Breanna Dyke; and several nieces, nephews and all his special friends.
Joe served in the US Navy, during W.W.II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 and Rocky Fork Amvets. He was also a member of Bainbridge United Methodist Church. Mr. Walley has been in business most of his life and retired from the State Auditor's Office.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2003, in the Bainbridge Cemetery, to honor and remember Joe. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Paxton Area Life Squad, PO Box 614, Bainbridge. Arrangements by Smith-Moore Funeral Home, Bainbridge, Ohio.

Angel Dawn Bush
Angel Dawn Bush was stillborn at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2003 in the Adena Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her parents, Anthony D. Bush and Faith Branham Vaught, of Chillicothe; grandparents, Debra (John Adkins) Branham, both of Chillicothe, Walter Branham, of Hampton, GA, Thelma Bush, of Chillicothe and Jim Rose, of Waverly; great grandparents, Shirley Bush, Robert Bush and Judy and Frank Carroll, all of Chillicothe; brothers, Andrew Bush and Jonathan Vaught; sisters, Alexis Bush, Samantha Vaught, Rebecca Vaught and MacKenzie Branham; and several aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by an uncle, Allen Branham.
Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2003 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Alice Seely officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home.
