Linda S. McClure
Died: Monday, June 23, 2003
Age: 51

Linda S. McClure, 51, of 2688 Miami-River Road, Sidney, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at in her residence. She was born in Munich, Germany on Oct. 13, 1951, to Bill and Doris Kauffman Guthrie; her father survives in Bellefontaine. She married John A. McClure on Nov. 12, 1969, in Piqua; and he survives.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2003, in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Dorsey Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Junior Blue
Died: Monday, June 23, 2003
Age: 60

Junior Blue, 60, 2571 Apache Drive, died at his residence Monday morning, June 23, 2003.

Doug Fleischman
Died: Sunday, June 22, 2003

DENVER, Colo. - Denver restaurateur Doug Fleischman, 46, a former Sidney resident and a Sidney High School graduate, was killed in an auto accident June 22 near his home in Denver.

The two-vehicle collision in North Capitol Hill was caused when another driver allegedly ran a stop sign, according to Denver police. Fleischman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fleischmann, co-owner of Mizuna Restaurant in Denver, moved to Vail in the mid-1970s and came to Denver in the early 1980s, being associated with Café Giovanni, Strings, Starfish and Mel's Restaurant before leaving to open Mizuna three years ago.

Funeral services for Fleischmann will be conducted today at 5 p.m. at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard, with a rosary service to follow at 7 p.m. A memorial service was scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at The Pinnacle Club.

Fleischmann's family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Project Angelheart, the Colorado AIDS Project or the Art Students League.

Delmar Burns
Died: Sunday, June 22, 2003
Age: 77

JELLICO, Tenn. - Delmar Burns, 77, of White Oak, Tenn., a former Shelby County resident, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at Jellico Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 26 at 2 p.m. at the White Oak Church of God by the Rev. Paul Cox. Burial will be in the Lambdin cemetery. The Campbell County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Harp Funeral Home in Jellico, Tenn. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Brayden James Duane Dorsten
Died: Sunday, June 22, 2003

PIQUA - Brayden James Duane Dorsten, 7 1/2 weeks, passed away in his home on Sunday, June 22, 2003.

Brayden is survived by his parents, Derek James Dorsten and MaryCatherine "Katie" Long of 216 College St., Covington. He will also be sadly missed by his maternal grandparents, David and Kristen Alspaugh of Covington and Stephen Long of Piqua; paternal grandparents, Chet and Peggy Osborne of Piqua and James Dorsten of Piqua; his maternal great-grandparents, Catherine Lingrell of Urbana and Maynard and Joan Alspaugh of Piqua; aunts, Blythe Alspaugh and Bobbi Jo Bryant; uncles, Jimmy Dorsten, John Long and Stephen Long; and many extended family members.

Brayden was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Long and Billy Lingrell, and paternal great-grandparents, Velva Osborne and Orville Larger.

Private family services will be provided by Pearson-Jackson Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will follow in Forest Hill cemetery, Piqua, with the Rev. William Yanney officiating.

The family suggest contributions may be made to the Covington Emergency Squad, Covington.

Betty L. Davidson
Died: Sunday, June 22, 2003
Age: 60

Betty L. Davidson. 60. 6824 Main St., died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at 9:38 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Somerset, Ky., the daughter of Jessie R. and Mary C. (Akers) Stephens.

On Nov. 25, 1960, she married Charles L. Davidson, who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Debroah K. Davidson of Pemberton and Mary L. Strunk of Sidney; two sons, Arlie Davidson and Craig D. Davidson, both of Pemberton; seven grandchildren; five brothers, Roger Stephens of Keno, Ky., Jessie R. Stephens of Fort Loramie; Donald R. Stephens of Sidney; James E. Stephens of Sidney and Mikel Stephens of Sidney; three sisters, Marjorie Branscum and Mrs. James (Fayrene) Goff, both of Pemberton and Mrs. Steven (Diana) Young of Sidney.

Mrs. Davidson was a homemaker.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Full Gospel Community Church, with the Rev. Charles Jarrett officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Point cemetery in Pasco.

Calling hours will be Thursday at Full Gospel Church from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11 a.m. Cromes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie L. Jones
Died: Sunday, June 22, 2003
Age: 66

Jimmie L. Jones, 66, 1203 Hamilton Ave., died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 28, 1936, in Stearns, Ky., the son of James and Addie (Jones) Jones. His mother survives in Steans, Ky.

On April 20, 1957, he married Nellie J. Roberts, who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Mark and Michael Jones, both of Sidney; daughter, Mrs. Kent (Marci) Huffman of Sidney; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers Othel and Allen Jones, both of Sidney and brothers Kenneth, Herstle, Clyde and Danny Jones, all of Stearns, Ky.; sisters Shirley Worley and Mrs. Patsy Crisp, both of Stearns, Ky. and Mrs. Ruth Morrow of Monticello, Ky.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two daughters.

Mr. Jones was employed by Robert R. Oldham Inc. as a foreman, retiring in 1999, after 25 years with the company. He was a member of Old Fashion United Baptist Church in Sidney.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Rock Springs, Ky. Burial will be in Rock Springs cemetery in Rock Springs, Ky.

Calling hours will be tonight from 5-8 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home.

Died: Sunday, June 15, 2003

A. David Lantz Jr., of Green Valley, and formerly of Sidney, died June 15, 2003.

A memorial service was held at Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley on June 20.

Robert M. Kunts
Died: Wednesday, June 18, 2003
Age: 57

DEGRAFF - Robert "Bob" M. Kuntz, 57, North Koke Street, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at 1:50 a.m. at his residence.

Services are planned for Saturday at 10 a.m. at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union cemetery, DeGraff.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
