PIQUA - Herbert W. Eshleman, 87, of 316 N. College St., Piqua, died at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in the Piqua Manor Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Elder Alan Preuss as the Presiding Overseer.

Zella B. Keiser
Died: Tuesday, November 18, 2003
Age: 91

Zella B. Keiser, 91, 705 Fulton St., passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at 9:05 p.m. in The Pavillion.

Arrangements are pending at the Cromes Funeral Home.

William Young
Died: Monday, November 17, 2003
Age: 86

PIQUA - William "Melvin" Young, 86, of Piqua, and formerly of St. Paris, passed away at 1:14 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, in Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 with Pastor Bill Cantrell presiding.

Ward E. Bowman
Died: Monday, November 17, 2003
Age: 89

Ward E. Bowman, 89, of 146 Liberty Court, passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at 11:15 p.m. in Fair Haven Shelby County Home where he had resided for a very short time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Earl Fernandes officiating. Burial will be at Graceland cemetery.

Friends may call at the Cromes Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

William Melvin Young
Died: Monday, November 17, 2003

ST. PARIS - William Melvin Young passed away at 1:14 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, in Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Services are pending at Suber-Shively Funeral Home. 201 W. Main St., Fletcher.

James A. Miller
Died: Monday, November 17, 2003
Age: 63

PLEASANT HILL - James A. "Jim" Miller, 63, 405 W. Franklin St., died at 7:53 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, in Indianapolis, Ind. He was born Oct. 4, 1940, in Coalgate, Okla., the son of the late Eldon Edward and Alice (Ennis) Miller. He married Melanie J. (Schnitkey) Miller in 1991. She survives.

Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. The Jackson Funeral Home of Pleasant Hill is handling the arrangements.

Raymond W. Metz
Died: Sunday, November 16, 2003
Age: 102

WAPAKONETA - Raymond W. Metz, 102, formerly of Route 2, and more recently of Auglaize Acres, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at 8:46 p.m. in Lima Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor Kieran Darcy officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church or Auglaize Acres activity fund.

Thomas P. Cogan
Died: Sunday, November 16, 2003
Age: 88

WAPAKONETA - Thomas P. Cogan, 88, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 10:31 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at his residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Oscar Seger, and Mr. Cogan's cousin, the Rev. James Byrne, officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Thomas cemetery, Glynnwood.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.

William W. Martz

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Alpha Center in Sidney, with Willis H. Rehn Jr. and Russ Bunker officiating.

There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.

Cromes Funeral Home is handling all the arrangements.

Hailey Nicole Karn

Hailey Nicole Karn, 6 months, daughter of Nathan and Donna (Sellers) Karn of 704 N. Main Ave., Sidney, Ohio died at Children's Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:15 PM. She was born September 4, 2007 in Sidney, Ohio. Surviving along with the parents are one brother, Mitchaell, age 5, and a sister, Trinity, age 1 1/2 years old; maternal grandmother, Donna DeMarcus of Sidney and paternal grandparents, Clarence Karn of Piqua, Ohio and Rebecca Martin of Sidney and maternal great-grandmother, Maxine Martin of Sidney. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 2:00 PM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 231 N. Miami Ave., Sidney, Ohio with Ruth Paulus. Burial will be at Cedar Point cemetery, Pasco, Ohio. Friends may call at St. Mark's Episcopal Church from 12 Noon until the 2:00 PM service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 555 Valley Street, Dayton, Ohio 45404. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home. The family invites everyone to St. Mark's Episcopal Church for a meal following the committal service at the cemetery.

Rose Evelyn Boroff

Rose Evelyn Boroff, 87, 803 Dingman St., Sidney, Ohio died at Wilson Memorial Hospital in the emergency room of an apparent heart attack at 1:25 AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. She was born June 2, 1920 in Sidney, Ohio the daughter of Raymond and Pearl (Barker) Schmidt. They are deceased. Surviving are five children, Geraldine Brown of Sidney, Ohio; Darla Sever of Sidney, Ohio; Eugene Boroff of Troy, Ohio; Margie Ferguson of Sidney, Ohio and Michael Boroff and wife Pat of Sidney, Ohio; 30 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Two brothers, one grandson and one great-granddaughter are deceased. She was an avid reader and liked to travel on various trips that the Sidney Shelby County YMCA offered. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Sidney. She had worked at Fair Haven Shelby County Home as head cook and retired in 1979. Prior to that she had worked at Big Smitty's Restaurant and Stolle Corp. in Sidney. Funeral services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 Wapakoneta Ave., Sidney, Ohio on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chad Wilson. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 5-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 Wapakoneta Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.

Elsie M. Bridges

Elsie M. Bridges, 97, Fair Haven Shelby County Home, 2901 Fair Rd., Sidney, Ohio, died at the nursing home on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 12:15 PM. She was born July 18, 1910 in Hardin, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Della (Cox) Pence and they are deceased. Surviving are several nieces and nephews and one step grandchild, Pamela Bridges. Three sisters, six brothers and two step children, Franklin Bridges and Garland Jackson and one step-grandson, Gary Jackson are deceased. She was a member of the Christian Tabernacle in Sidney. She had worked at Stolle Corp. for 26 years as an inspector. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home with Rev. Harold McKnight. Burial will be at Graceland cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.

Georgina M. Freisthler

She was born on February 21, 1931 in Minster, Ohio to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Liesner. They are deceased and she also had a step-mother, Lenore Liesner and she is deceased. She was married to Bernard B. Freisthler on June 27, 1953 and he died February 22, 1982. Surviving are two children, Philip and wife Susan Freisthler of Sidney and daughter, Elizabeth Kerns and husband Kenneth of Sidney and two grandchildren, Hunter and Gyllian Kerns; also surviving are one brother, Frank Liesner of Coldwater, Ohio; two sisters, Peg Henry of Huber Heights, Ohio and Mary Jackson of Columbus, Ohio. One son, Jimmy is deceased. She was a graduate of Minster High School and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney. She was a homemaker. Graveside services will be held at Graceland cemetery, Sidney, Ohio on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in Georgina M. Freisthler's memory.
