Virginia Mae Williamson Voight, 82, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday morning, July 31, 2002, ay Wyngate of Gallipolis.
She was born May 14, 1920, in Point Pleasant, daughter of the late George H. and Helen Moody Williamson.
She was a retired nutrition aide for the West Virginia University Extension Office, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Voight; and a brother, George “Duke” Williamson.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Neesha and Paul Smith of Point Pleasant; three grandchildren, Christopher and Rebecca Voight of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Anthony Jason Smith of Columbus, and Nikki Smith of Point Pleasant; a great-grandson, Jared Smith; and a sister, Emogene Johnson of Point Pleasant.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2002, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with the Rev. L. Frank Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, near Point Pleasant. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, August 2, 2002, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 228, Point Pleasant, W.Va. 25550.

William H. Clay Jr.
Huntington, W.Va.
April 2, 2002
William H. “Bill” Clay Jr., 66, Huntington, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at his residence.
Born Oct. 6, 1935, in Genoa, W.Va., son of the late William H. Sr. and Audrey Watts Clay, he was a retired sales manager with Allison Abrasives in Lancaster, Ky., and a sales representative for Clay’s Candles in Huntington.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Destiny Christian Center, the Masonic Lodge and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Clay; three daughters, Deadra (Willy) Sutton of Hurricane, W.Va., Deborah (Gary) Dunlap of Julian, W.Va., and Patricia Lane Pescitelli of Florida; two sons, Joseph (Jamey) Peterman of Barboursville, W.Va., and Michael David (Cindy) Clay of Huntington; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild; a brother, Joseph (Amy) Clay of Cincinnati; and a stepsister, Linda (Tom) Grube of Gallipolis.
Services were held at 1 p.m. today, Friday, April 5, 2002, in Ferrell Funeral Home Chapel, Huntington, with Pastor Sam Vance officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation was held in the funeral home Thursday.
Military graveside rites were conducted by VFW Post 1064.

William D. Durbin
Pomeroy, Ohio

William D. Durbin, 78, Pomeroy, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, in Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center, Pomeroy.
Arrangements will be announced by Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine.

Thomas H. Perry
Athens, Ohio
April 1, 2002
Thomas Hayden Perry, 84, Athens, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his residence.
Born Feb. 28, 1918, in Patriot, son of the late William and Mary Evans Perry, he was a retired construction electrician, a 50-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a gunsmith and a bird dog field trainer.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of K.T. Crossen Post 21 of the American Legion, and a charter member and past president of the Hocking Valley Sportsman Association.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ruth Thorne Perry; a son, Brent (Flora) Perry of Athens; a daughter, Cynthy of Newark; and three granddaughters.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Tyn Rhos Cemetery, Patriot, with the Rev. Tad Cuckler officiating. Visitation was held in Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, on Wednesday.

Charles K. Sayre
Mason, W.Va.
April 4, 2002
Charles K. “Buddy” Sayre, 59, Mason, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, in Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Born Dec. 3, 1942, in Point Pleasant, W.Va., son of the late Charles K. Sayre, and Ruby Holcomb Allinder of Point Pleasant, he was a retired boilermaker with Local 667.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a daughter, Risa L. Sayre of Mason; two sons, Michael J. (Allison) Sayre of West Columbia, W.Va., and James Kelly (Angela) Sayre of Burlington, N.C.; three grandchildren; a sister, Connie (Jim) Rohr of Point Pleasant; a brother, Michael (Marie) Edwards of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at Foglesong-Tucker Funeral Home, Mason, from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, conrtibutions can be made to the Mason United Methodist Cancer Support Group, P.O. Box 336, Mason, W.Va. 25260.

Ralph J. Harden
Racine, Ohio
June 2, 2002
Ralph J. Harden, 38, Racine, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at his residence.
Born Jan. 6, 1964, in Pomeroy, son of Bob and Dorothy Circle Harden of Racine, he was a 1982 graduate of Southern High School, and was formerly employed at Imperial Electric Co. and Ben Tom Construction.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Jean Sloter Cleek Harden; two stepchildren, Jeremy (Kelly) Cleek of Lancaster, and Jenny Cleek of Marietta; a sister, Pamela (Jim) Foreman of Portland; three stepgrandchildren; his mother-in-law, Shirley Sloter of Racine; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Also surviving are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Buzz and Iva Sloter, Retha Murray, Sharon and Norman Hendrickson, Dale Sloter, Larry and Kelly Sloter, Randal and Terry Sloter, and Amy Sloter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandie Elaine Harden; a brother, Timothy Scott Harden; maternal grandparents, Homer and Lula Circle; and paternal grandparents, Dorothy Harden Yates and Morris Harden.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine, with the Rev. Dewayne Stutler officiating. Burial will be in Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.

Patricia Karr Carsey
Upper Arlington

UPPER ARLINGTON - Patricia Karr Carsey, 72, of Upper Arlington, formerly of Mason, West Virginia, died Saturday, October 5, 2002, at Arlington Court Nursing Center in Upper Arlington.
She was born December 25, 1929, in Charleston, West Virginia, daughter of the late Irving Karr Jr. and Virginia Hodge Karr.
She was a graduate of Pomeroy High School, and attended Western College for Women at Oxford, Ohio, and Ohio University.
She was a member of Phi Beta Phi sorority.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary E. Carsey and Sarah (Dr. Steven S.) Carsey Walker, and grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth Walker and Robert Isom Walker, all of Upper Arlington; and two nieces, Barbara Morgan of Charleston, and Jane Grady of Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R. Carsey, D.D.S., in 1994.
Graveside services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, October 8, 2002, in Evergreen Cemetery in Letart, West Virginia. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, October 8, 2002, at Fisher Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meigs County Public Libraries, 216 West Main Street, Pomeroy, Ohio 45769.

Anita Marie Harless
Vinton
October 7, 2002
VINTON - Anita Marie Welch Harless, 46, of Vinton, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with our Heavenly Father Monday, October 7, 2002, following a courageous battle with kidney cancer.
She was born February 18, 1956, in Pomeroy, daughter of Media Deweese Welch Schoonover of Wilkesville, and the late Charles F. Welch.
She was a member of the Community Christian Fellowship Church of Gallipolis.
Anita graduated from Hocking College with a degree in nursing and received the Joyce Smith Award in 1993. She retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center in 2001 due to her illness.
In addition to her mother, Media Schoonover, she is survived by her ex-husband of 28 years, Billy Edward Harless Jr. of Wilkesville; three children, Heather Harless of Wilkesville, Billy (Sandra) Harless Jr. of Vinton, and Vanessa (Allen) Smith of Wilkesville; grandchildren, Jacob Lambert, Brooklyn and Bradly Harless, and Justin and Matthew Smith.
Also surviving are two sisters, Rita (Lawrence) Tabor of Evanston, Indiana, and Terra (Greg) Fields of Wilkesville; nieces and nephews, Chelsea and Robert Tabor, and Randi and Taylor Fields; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Fletcher Welch, on December 19, 1969; her special father, Charles A. Schoonover; fraternal grandparents, Fletcher R. and Anna Hager Welch; and maternal grandparents, James “Bud” Deweese and Fannie J. Runnion Deweese.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002, in Vinton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dale Geiser Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Vinton from 10 a.m. until noon and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2002.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Tabor, Greg Fields, Billy McQuaid Jr., Tim Wyatt, Lucas Well and Joe Wilcoxen.
