LLOYD
Marvel A. Lloyd, 80, of Van Wert, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005, a Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville.
She was born July 12, 1924, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Fred B. and Emma (Gehres) Kiehl. On November 16, 1952, she married D. Haydn Lloyd, who died June 17, 2000.
Mrs. Lloyd was a homemaker and a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia, Church Women United and the Salem Women's Association. She also belonged to the Van Wert County Farm Bureau ad was a member of the Chimes Hour.
Survivors include two sons, Larry H. (Shirley) Lloyd and Rex E. (Lisa) Lloyd, both of Van Wert; a daughter, Connie (Kevin) O'Neill of New Bremen; one sister, Norma Duncan of Bradenton, Fla.; two stepsisters, Billie Good and Jean Kelly, both of the Lima area; 11 grandchildren, Eric Lloyd, Tricia Ridenour, Tiffany Werts, Tammy Lloyd, Josh Lloyd, Scott Lloyd, Lynette Lloyd, Logan O'Neill, Shelby O'Neill, Adam O'Neil and Jacob O'Neill, and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Lloyd, Elliott Lloyd, Lainey Werts and Haydn Ridenour.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Charles Kiehl; a stepbrother, Dale Ackom, and a sister, Thelma Gehres.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia, with the Rev. Wendy Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, and 4-8 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Sunday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or a charity of donor's choice.

KOONTZ
Homer Alan Koontz, 86, of Rockford, died at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Maplewood of Shanes Village in Rockford.
He was born September 8, 1918, in Willshire, the son of the late Dale and Hila (Figley) Koontz. On April 8, 1939, he married Martha Esther Byer, who survives in Rockford.
Mr. Koontz was a farm all his life and also was a lifelong resident of the Rockford area. He was the founder of the Rockford Thrifty 4-H Club and was the club's adviser for many years. He was a past grand master of Shanes Lodge 377, Free & Accepted Masons, in Rockford. He also was a past officer of the Mercer County Federal Land Bank, a member of Mercer County Farm Bureau and Rockford United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles (Shari) Koontz of Rockford; one daughter, Claudia Noel of Ashland; two sisters, Martha Archer of Rockford and Rhea (Bob) Duvall of Bluefield, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Mabel Koontz of Rockford; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Koontz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Mike Berne of Rockford United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Calling hours are 3-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, and an hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

BONIFAS
Robert A. Bonifas, 82, of Delphos, died at 8:02 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born May 21, 1922, in Delphos, the son of the late Albert and Cleo (Lautzenheiser) Bonifas. On June 1, 1946, he married Alice Hoelderle, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Bonifas started working a Maude's restaurant at the age of 15 in 1936 and later become a partner, and then the sole owner in 1949, renaming the restaurant Nu-Maude's. Also in 1949, he contracted polio and was rehabilitated in Warm Springs, Ga. He retired in 1990. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos and graduated from Delphos St. John's High School. He was a member of the Delphos Jaycees, Delphos Rotary Club, Delphos City Council and Delphos Chamber of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was responsible for running an officers' mess hall.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jan A. (Carol) Bonifas of St. Marys; two daughters, Barbara J. Bonifas of Cincinnati and Madelyn (William) Schimmoeller of Delphos; one brother; seven grandchildren -- including Edwin Robert (Michelle) Ezzelle, a grandson who was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Bonifas -- and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be conducted at a later date.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 that evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

FENNIG
Marilyn M. Fennig, 74, of Van Wert, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born February 5, 1931, in Celina, the daughter of the late Hubert and Elizabeth "Betty" (Painter) Miller. On February 21, 1948, she married Donald E. Fennig, who survives at their residence.
Mrs. Fennig worked as the reference librarian at Brumback Library for 12 years. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert and was a past member of the Dorcas Circle of the church. She had volunteered in the TWIG II gift shop at Van Wert County Hospital and was a member of the American Association of University Women. She was a magna cum laude graduate of Wright State University.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Mark Fennig and Stephen Fennig, both of Van Wert; three daughters, Sharon Franklin of Walton, Ky., Leslie (Steven Hughes) Fennig of Fort Wayne and Stephanie Fennig of Convoy, and five grandchildren, Robin and Michael Franklin, Jackie Wolford and Kayla and Derek Fennig.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, David and Larry Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. William Haggis II officiating. A private family burial service will be held.
Calling hours are 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert and 6-7 p.m. Tuesday in the church parlor.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brumback Library or the Van Wert Animal Protective League.

FIOCK
Mary E. Fiock, 90, of 2148 Richey Road, Convoy, died at 4:09 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
She was born March 7, 1915, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Isaac and Maggie (Pierce) Stemen. On December 23, 1933, she married Earl R. Fiock, who died June 14, 1980.
Mrs. Fiock was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Arthur R. (Constance) Fiock of Van Wert; one brother, Wilbur (Ruth) Stemen of Cairo, Ohio; two sisters, Evelyn Jones Hoverman of Venedocia and Leota Barcus of Pennville, Ind.; two grandchildren, Christopher (Cari) Fiock of Waterville and April (Jason) Gray of Convoy; one great-grandson; two stepgreat-granddaughters and another great-granddaughter is expected.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gaylord Stemen.
Private family services are scheduled at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Raymond Feeck of Calvary Evangelical Church officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the United Way of Van Wert County.

MARTIN
Mary M. Martin, 70, of Delphos, died at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at her residence.
She was born June 23, 1934, in Bluffton, Ind., the daughter of the late Henry A. and Helen I. (McAfee) Harmon. On February 28, 1953, she married Glen L. Martin, who died June 30, 2004.
Mrs. Martin worked at New Delphos Manufacturing for 23 years in the loading department. She was an active member of the Pentecostal Way Church in Van Wert, Delphos Eagles, was past president of the Delphos American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed Bingo, camping and watching cooking shows.
Survivors include a son, Randy (Jill) Martin of Delphos; two daughters, Pam (Gregory) Gigliotti of Delphos and Dawn (Jason) Feasby of Van Wert; one sister, Phyllis (Bob) Turner of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Martin, and one brother, Richard Harmon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. William Watson officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

KIGGINS
Detoh Lillian Elizabeth Kiggins, 98, of Delphos, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
She was born August 12, 1906, in Delphos, the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Loy) Swick. On August 23, 1927, she married Robert T. Kiggins, who died in 1980.
Mrs. Kiggins started the cafeteria in the Delphos City Schools and served as manager for 23½ years until her retirement in March 1985 at the age of 79. Her recipes are still used in the schools and throughout the community. She was also a seamstress for many years and made wedding clothes for many area brides. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos and was active in the church, serving as Youth Fellowship adviser, chairman of the annual Christmas bazaar and as an officer in the United Methodist Women. She was a 1924 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School and was active in Band Mothers.
Survivors include a son, R. Keith (Sally) Kiggins of Delphos; one daughter, Beth R. (Robert) Lauber of Lima; six grandchildren, Lynn Lauber, Scott (Trois) Lauber, Julie (Mark) Altstaetter, Lisa (David) Harlan, Karen (Scott) Nolan and Beth (Eric) Geise; 10 great-grandchildren, Anne and Kathryn Altstaetter, Cynthia and Megan Harlan, Kayla, Brittany and Lauren Nolan, Alexander and Madison Geise, Becky Denton and Brandon and Ashley Lauber, and a great-great-grandchild, Taylor Denton.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Harold and Clarence Swick, and two sisters, Anna Wilkin and Bernice Dotson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos.
