MOODY
Katherine Louise Moody, 67, of Ohio City, died at 6:23 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2005, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born February 3, 1938, in Seymour, Tenn., the daughter of the late Paris Woodrow and Ina Louise (Dunlap) Eastridge. On April 10, 1956, she married Loyd Devoughn Moody, who died December 26, 2003.
Mrs. Moody was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert and also attended Ohio City Church of God.
Survivors include three sons, Bill R. (Brenda) Moody, Larry D. (Jenny) Moody and Cliff C. (Charlene) Moody, all of Ohio City; two daughters, Debbie L. (Chuck) Bigham and Wilma D. (Rick) Peterson, both of Ohio City; two brothers, Paris (Joann) Eastridge of Michigan and Jimmy (Renee) Eastridge of Ohio; one sister, Mary (Bob) Muncy of West Virginia; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Renee Moody.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 31, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 1-7 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.

WILES
Jason Lee Wiles, 20, of 1116 E. Crawford St., Van Wert, died Friday morning, October 14, 2005, at his residence.
He was born March 16, 1985, in Van Wert, the son of Charles H. and Marcela Kay (Pease) Wiles, both of whom survive in Van Wert.
Other survivors include a sister, Karla Wiles of Van Wert, and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, at the Pentecostal Bethlehem Tabernacle in Van Wert, with Pastor Russell Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 17, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

EUTSLER
Lowell T. Eutsler, 65, of 208 S. Liberty St., Ohio City, died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at his residence.
He was born February 3, 1940, in Venedocia, the son of the late William B. and Easter B. (Hickle) Eutsler. On January 15, 1965, he married Sandra Kay Kline, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Eutsler was retired from Elgin Grain Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of Ohio City Church of God and a member of Eagles Aerie 1292 in Rockford.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Tina (Rod) Vore of Decatur, Ind.; two brothers, William E. (Rose Ann) Eutsler of Venedocia and Paul R. (Joyce) Eutsler of Spencerville; one sister, Mildred (Simon) Smith of Syracuse, Ind.; two brothers-in-law, Lester Glander of Van Wert and Eugene Gasser of Ottoville; two grandchildren, Macey and Shaley Vore, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, James O. Eutsler, Eldon Eutsler, Arthur Ray Eutsler and Carl Eugene Eutsler, and three sisters, Clara Lucille Glander, Wanda Jane Putman and Lulu Belle Gasser.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, October 7, at Ohio City Church of God, with Pastor Matt Braun officiating.Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 6, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.

GADDY
Laura Joan Gaddy, 46, of rural Delphos, died at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at her residence.
She was born February 2, 1959, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Francis R. "Sam" and Joan (Williman) Brazen. She married John P. Gaddy, who survives.
Mrs. Gaddy was employed by Central Mutual Insurance Company for 25 years. She had been president of the Lincolnview PTO and was involved in the Lincolnview Latchkey program. She was also a member of the Middle Point Ballpark Association and belonged to First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Nathaniel John Gaddy, at home; a daughter, Melanie (Glennis) Colwell; two brothers, Francis E. "Ed" (Chris) Brazen of Ada and James D. (Annette) Brazen; two sisters, Deborah J. Moser and Rebecca (Ed) Wells; one brother-in-law, James Gaddy; two sisters-in-law, Marry Farrell and Judy Brock; her father-in-law, John Gaddy Sr.; two grandsons, Dylan Colwell and Dawson Colwell; several nieces and nephews, Jordan (Kris) Hamilton, Joshua Brazen, Zachary Brazen, Stephanie Stoner, Ben Stoner, Bob (Leslie) Moser, Chad (Stephanie) Moser, Jamie Moser, Sarah Wells, Erin Wells, Leah Wells, Evan Wells, Melissa Brock and Christopher Kern, and a number of great-nieces and nephews, Ashley Moser, Seth Moser, Bailey Kroll, Keith Brock, Joshua Brock and Keith Moser.
She was preceded in death by two nephews, Ian Brazen and Keith Brock, and her mother-in-law, Muriel Gaddy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 10, at First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, with Rev. Dillon Staas and Rev. Scott Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 9, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Nathaniel Gaddy educational trust fund.

SUTTON
Claybern Z. Sutton, 93, of Ohio City, died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005, at Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford.
He was born August 29, 1912, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Claybern Zachriah and Elizabeth (Switzer) Sutton. On May 3, 1940, he married Lois L. Ickes, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Sutton was a longtime farmer in Liberty Township. He was then the Ohio City marshal and village mayor. He retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in 1979. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ohio City and was a 1930 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School. He was also a 50-year member and past master of Eureka Lodge 592, Free & Accepted Masons.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul (Amy) Sutton of Columbus and Larry (Bonita) Sutton of Van Wert; two daughters, Barbara (Dan) Moffit of Weaverville, N.C., and Cindy (Chris) Skinner of Van Wert; eight grandchildren, Joseph (Erin) Sutton, Jill (Kyle) Aebker, Shane (Carmen) Sutton, Brett Sutton, Jaime (Ben) Suvar, Elizabeth Burley, Lisa (Rob) Akes and Steve (Michelle) Amweg, and six great-grandchildren, Jesse Akes, Madeline Akes, Emily Akes, Caroline Akes, Anne Marie Sutton and Frances Ann Aebker.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannette Louise Sutton, who died February 9, 2005; four half-brothers, Ross Hoverman, Ray Sutton, Floyd F. Sutton and Archie C. Sutton; one sister, Mary Lorene Jones, and four half-sisters, Vera Moore, Ida Becker, Anna B. Stemen and Elsie L. Kline.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Denise Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.,

SCHAFFNER
Viola Mae Schaffner, 73, of Van Wert, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born November 28, 1931, in Findlay, the daughter of the late Jonas Campbell and the late Ella (Davis) Campbell Bach. She married Clarence Klausing in 1946. In 1968, she married Milo E. “Boots” Schaffner, who preceded her in death on October 14, 1994.
Mrs. Schaffner was a waitress at several local restaurants for many years and was also owner of the Bee Hive Tavern. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit 5803.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Klausing and Dan R. (Kelly) Klausing, both of Van Wert; a daughter, Linda Mitchell of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Milo (Jo) Schaffner Jr. of Van Wert, Sandy (Cal) Hasty of Texas and Carolyn Blue of Florida; three brothers, Charles Campbell of Texas, Don Campbell and Darwin “Gene” (Phyllis) Campbell, both of Findlay; 10 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and –nephews, and special friends Dot Curtis and Jenny Ellis.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Marge Campbell; a daughter, Linda Louise Klausing, and one brother, Doyle Campbell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 14, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
Viewing hours are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Health Professionals-Hospice.

HARTMAN
Joan Ann Hartman went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born November 2, 1939, in Wadsworth, the daughter of the late Roy S. and Laura Ann (Teubner) Hartman.
Miss Hartman grew up with her parents and siblings on the family farm in Wadsworth and attended Sharon Elementary and Highland High School, graduating with the Class of 1957. After a few part-time jobs, she went on to her career at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, serving as a nursing assistant. She retired in 1992 after 30 years of service and continued to reside in Columbus until a service of ongoing health challenges forced her to move to Van Wert and into Vancrest Health Care Center's assisted living area. She was musically inclined and enjoyed playing the piano and singing in church choirs. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in her younger years and was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Ohio City at the time of her passing. Joan also enjoyed writing poetry and was published in the 1995 National Library of Poetry with a poem called "At the Water's Edge." She loved to travel and was an avid photographer/photo album maker with many volumes in her library. She also had a unique "greeting card" ministry and was always there in remembering birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and special occasions of her family members. She was a "favorite aunt" of all her nieces, nephews and grand-nieces. She was a loving and caring person with a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include a sister, Marilyn Hartman Brandt of Van Wert; one brother, Roy A. Hartman of College Station, Texas; four nieces; a nephew, and three grand-nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, September 9, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church on German Church Road, with the Rev. Timothy Sims officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lexington, with the Rev. Rick Ebb officiating.
Viewing will be an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements were handled by Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
