LAUKHUF
Marjorie Helen Laukhuf, 80, of Haviland, died at 11:13 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2003, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born September 13, 1923, in Akron, the daughter of the late Elmer and Bessie (Wormald) Graf. On November 30, 1941, she married Kenneth Laukhuf, who survives.
Mrs. Laukhuf was a homemaker and a member of Latty Apostolic Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Thomas Laukhuf and Bruce (Vickie) Laukhuf, both of Haviland; two daughters, Carol (Ron) Koehl of Nokomis, Fla., and Valerie (Mike) Klima of Columbus Grove; four brothers, Robert (Alma) Graf, Donald Graf, Leon (Janet) Graf and Carl (Kathy) Graf, all of the Akron area; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepmother, Juliet (Stoller) Graf; one stepsister, Violet Graf, and two brothers, Elmer and William Graf.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2004, at Latty Apostolic Christian Church, with church clergymen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2004, at DenHerder Funeral Home in Paulding and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Laukhuf to the Paulding County Hospice.

RADER
Hazel M. Rader, 90, of 734 Tully St., Convoy, died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born October 20, 1913, in Uniopolis, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lucy (Greulach) Rader. She never married.
Miss Rader was retired from Central Mutual Insurance Company in Van Wert. she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy and the Fidelitas Women of the ELCA. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Convoy Research Club.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Rader, and one sister-in-law, Genevieve (Duncan) Rader.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy, the Rev. Janice A. Berthinee officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Calling hours are an hour ahead of the service Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on behalf of Miss Rader to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Arrangements were made by Cowan & Son Stainfield Memorial Home in Convoy.

BOWERS
Vivan M. Bowers, 81, of 204 N. Liberty St., Convoy, died at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born March 25, 1922, in Tully Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Lyman and Merle (Finkhousen) Owens. On January 3, 1942, in Dixon, she married Wilmer B. Bowers, who survives.
Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker. She was a member of Convoy United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and wrote the church newsletter for the local newspaper. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary in Convoy and was a graduate of Convoy-Union High School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Keith W. (Judy) Bowers of Convoy; five brothers, Doyt (Lois) Owens, Ervin "Ed" (IvaLou) Owens and Waldo "Bud" (Joyce) Owens, all of Convoy, Marvin "Jake" (Lorena "Skip") Owens of Monroeville, Ind., and Marlin "Wit" (Carol) Owens of Angola, Ind.; two sisters, Juanita (Norman) Christian and Margie (Howard) Hoblet, both of Convoy, and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Owens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6, at Convoy United Methodist Church, the Rev. Gregory Leigh officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 5, at Cowan & Son Stainfield Memorial Home in Convoy and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Bowers to the Convoy United Methodist Church choir.

DAILEY
Eileen D. Dailey, 72, of 6580 Werner Road, Convoy, died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Select Specialty Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born July 11, 1931, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Charles Emery and Nila Belle (Robson) Wallis. On June 18, 1952, she married Robert L. Dailey, who survives at home.
Mrs. Dailey had formerly worked for American Phillips Corp. and Teleflex Corp. in Van Wert. she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy and was a member of the Fidelitas Guild of the church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Eric (Jolenna) Dailey of Edon and Michael N. Dailey of Convoy; a daughter, Susie (Greg) Harrell of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Erica Wiegand, Jaret Wiegand, Maribeth Harrell, Reva Harrell, Tige Harrell, Jessica Disbro, Joelle Dailey and Jenna Dailey, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Elton E. Wallis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 8, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, the Rev. Jan Berthinee officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 7, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Dailey to the Convoy EMS squad or the American Diabetes Association.

SHEETS
Merle V. Sheets, 91, of Wren, died at 8:35 pm. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Woodcrest Nursing Home in Decatur, Ind.
She was born February 11, 1912, in Richland Center, Wis., the daughter of the late Jess O. and Beulah (Wanless) Dull. On August 29, 1935, in Peru, Ind., she married Leland D. Sheets, who died November 19, 1995.
Mrs. Sheets was a cook at the Wren School and for Crestview Local Schools, retiring in 1977 with 26 years of service. She was also a homemaker. She graduated from high school in 1930 and had 1½ years of nursing training at the Lucas County Hospital in Toledo.
Survivors include two sons, Doyt L. (Sharon) Sheets of Lake Dallas, Texas, and David R. (Sharon) Sheets of Van Wert; two sisters, Tessie Hines of Ohio City and Audrey Hoffman of Wren; three grandsons, Daniel, Richard and Devin Sheets; one granddaughter, Stacie Burlingame, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nina Hey and Viola Serrano, and two brothers, Theron L. Dull and Donald D. Dull.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 8, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, December 7, at the funeral home.

EASTON
Violet Marjorie Easton, 89, of Van Wert, died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1914, in Kingston, Ill., the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Edna Viola (Bishop) Gustafson.
Ms. Easton was a case worker for the Van Wert County Welfare Department from 1968-1984. She was a graduate of Belvidere High School in Belvidere, Ill., and attended Beloit College. She was a former member of the Van Wert Business Women's Club.
Survivors include two sons, Lance (Ann) Munger of Omaha, Neb., and Nicholas (Gail) Munger of Charlottesville, Va.; four daughters, Pamela (Robert) Grant of Tygh Valley, Ore., Vickie (Tom) Looser of Ottoville, Charla (Jeff) Buechner of Van Wert and Millie (Loren) Dove of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Twyla Wrede and Shirley Bjerge, and a grandson, Martin Edward Blum.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2004, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Steve Placke officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2004, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Ms. Easton to the American Cancer Society.

SHEETS
Joseph R. Sheets, 76, of Celina and formerly of Dayton, died at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born February 28, 1927, in Dayton, the son of the late James K. and Lauretta G. (Heck) Sheets. On May 9, 1953, he married Lois E. Hull, who survives in Celina.
Mr. Sheets retired in 1989 from Sears, Roebuck and Company as an appliance repairman. He attended Mount Tabor Church of God in Rockford and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He was a member of Solar Masonic Lodge in Dayton and the Brookville Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David (fiancée: Kelly Shrum) Sheets of Sydney, Australia; three daughters, Teresa (John) Shaw of Olive Branch, Miss., Connie (Mark) Collins of Van Wert, and Belinda (Terry) Kutter of Centerville; two brothers, James K. (Berneal) Sheets of Trotwood and Gene (Ruth) Sheets of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Mt. Tabor Church of God in Rockford, with Pastor Jim Keiser officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Sheets to the church or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were handled by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.
