ORRVILLE -- Brenda E. Shoup, 38, 10734 Old Lincoln Way, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 19, 2000, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Crown Hill Mennonite Church near Rittman with the Rev. Richard Ross officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 6:30-9 p.m. or one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crown Hill Mennonite Church, 9693 Benner Road, Rittman 44270.
Auble Funeral Home in Orrville is handling the arrangements.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1961 in Orrville to Arthur R. and Miriam M. (Weaver) Shoup.
Surviving are her parents, Art and Miriam Shoup of Orrville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Elsie Shoup of Mechanicsburg, and Philip and Kristine Shoup of Valkaria, Fla.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Paul Sommers of Louisville, Dolores Shoup and Bob Berrson of Harrisonburg, Va., Barbara and Jim Dye of Wooster, and Eleanor and Timothy Deir of Lima, N.Y., and 17 nephews and nieces.

Hilda Abrams
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Hilda Pailet Abrams, 92, of Cuyahoga Falls and formerly of Medina and Columbus, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000.
Private graveside services were held Sunday in Columbus. Services were conducted Rabbi Harold Berman of Tifereth Israel Synagogue.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Aug. 8, 1908 in Columbus to Louis and Anna (Godofsky) Pailet.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Ann Abrams of Wooster; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Lee Sylvester of Medina, Marcia and Michael Jaffe of Dayton and Jacqueline and Michael Rodkey of Cuyahoga Falls; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Sonya Polsky
WOOSTER -- Sonya Polsky, 83, of Wooster, passed away Sunday night, Sept. 17, 2000, at Horn Nursing Home in Wooster.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home, Canton with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Final Resting Place is Canton Hebrew Cemetery. Following the services, the family will receive friends at Shaaray Torah Synagogue, 432-30th St. NW, Canton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
She was born in Russia on Dec. 28, 1916 to the late Kheva and Mary Volper.
She is survived by and is the beloved sister of Ruth Rich of Canton; beloved aunt of Cynthia Sloan of Chicago, Ill. and Dr. Darrell Bass of Cleveland; and beloved great-aunt of Brian and Kevin Sloan and Arin and James Bass.

Larissa Kopczinsky
WOOSTER -- Larissa Anne Kopczinsky, daughter of Mark and Sonya (Koontz) Kopczinsky, 956 Mindy Lane, died shortly after birth Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Private family services will be held with Rev. Nathan Ward officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Surviving in addition to her parents are maternal grandparents, Bill and Deb Koontz of Brinkhaven; paternal grandmother, Joan Kopczinsky of Wooster; maternal great-grandmother, Jean Evans of Wooster and maternal great-grandmother, Audra Koontz of Wooster.

Audrey Atwood
CRESTON -- Audrey Cledith Atwood, 73, 227 Coulter St., died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, following a short illness.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Ky.
There will be no calling hours.
Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to National Arbor Day Foundation, 211 N. 12 St., Lincoln, Neb. 68508.
She was born March 14, 1927 in Clay County, W.Va. to Hubert and Flora (Butcher) Dawson and married Walter P. Atwood on Dec. 20, 1958. He died Sept. 15, 1987.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Melissa) Atwood of Orrville; a daughter, Denise (Wayne) Easterday of Mansfield; five grandchildren; brothers, Dexter Dawson of West Virginia, Dane Dawson of Shreve, Dudley Dawson and Daniel Dawson, both of West Virginia and sisters, Claudia O'Dello and Chessie McCune, both of Massillon and Carmen Samples of West Virginia.

Maureen Wilson
CROOKSVILLE -- Maureen Rose Wilson, 50, 13981 State Route 669 NW, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at her residence.
Funeral mass was Saturday at the Church of the Atonement. Father Frank Stanton officiated. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Crooksville.
Goebel Funeral Home in Crooksville handled arrangements.
She was born June 26, 1950 in Zanesville.
Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Marlin P. Wilson; two sons, Marlin Paul Wilson II of Rosefarm and Matthew R. Wilson of Oakfield; three grandchildren; her parents, John and Virginia (O'Leary) Redfern of Crooksville; 13 brothers and sisters, Cecelia Brand of Zanesville, Fred Redfern, Nancy Gordon, John Redfern Jr., Kathleen Cannon and Brent Redfern, all of Crooksville, Judy Brown of Harker Heights, Texas, Mark Redfern of Zanesville, Laura Buck and Rita Redfern, both of Apple Creek, Marty Redfern of Roseville, Steven Redfern of Fredericksburg and Ron Redfern of Waldwich, N.J.

Hallen Teter
PICKENS, W.Va. -- Hallen "Hal" Teter, 73, P.O. Box 132, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Inc. in Buckhannon, W.Va. with the Rev. Frank Long officiating. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pickens, W.Va.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born April 13, 1927 in Harmon, W.Va. to Delmer Francis and Anna Judy Teter and married Nellie Jane Bachman on Dec. 25, 1952. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Mrs. Dale (Catherine) Followay of Creston and Mrs. Tony (Karen) Hollingsworth of Apple Creek; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Deborah Teter of Wadsworth; seven grandchildren and sisters, Mary Buckingham of Rittman, Alice Hartman of Springfield and Betty Teter of Wooster.

Leroy Harsh
WOOSTER -- Leroy M. Harsh, 75, 2635 Burbank Road, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home with Rosary being recited at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. O. J. Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home with an Elks Memorial Service at 5:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wayne-Holmes Diabetes Association, in care of Vicki Slater, 2713 Congress Road, Wooster 44691 in his memory.
He was born April 7, 1925 in Burbank to Frank and Edith (Ackerman) Harsh.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Fox Harsh, whom he married Dec. 27, 1986; children and their spouses, Mickey and Jim Butler of Tulsa, Okla., John and Evelyn Harsh of Millersburg, Loretta and Bob Judy of Howard, Richard and Laurie Harsh of Wooster and Sandy and Lee Foster of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepchildren and their spouses, Becky and Don Orr of Holmesville, Robin and Tim Bowman of Madison, Va. and Heidi and Jack Gant of Wooster; nine grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Bean of Lodi and a sister-in-law, Catherine Harsh of Lodi.

HOLMESVILLE -- Jean A. "Jeanne" Smith, 63, P.O. Box 85, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 18, 2000, at Sunset View Skilled Nursing Home, Millersburg, following an extended illness.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Holmesville Church of Christ with Pastor Don Campbell officiating. Private burial will follow, at the Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg with Eastern Star services beginning at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Prairie Township Friends of the Library, in care of Jan Lemon, 8186 County Road 189, Holmesville 44633.
She was born April 22, 1937 in Millersburg and was the daughter of Lewis "Fuzz" and Margaret (Shrimplin) Boring. On April 22, 1956 she married R. Dean Smith and he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters and their spouses, Kimberly and Kenny Jacobs of Holmesville, Tammy and Ed Haudenschild of Fredericksburg and Lisa and Louie Stanley of Fredericksburg; a son, Rick Smith of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kendra and Lee Jacobs, Lindsey and Brad Haudenschild, Courtney and Tyler Smith and Brenden, Reid and Logan Stanley; three sisters, Linda Yoder of Youngstown, Georgie Cool of Millersburg and Marybeth Golemo of Ames, Iowa and a brother, Jim Boring of Newark.

Matilda Robinson
RITTMAN -- Matilda Marie Robinson, 48, 84 N. Seneca St., died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Massillon Community Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Rittman with the Rev. Dr. J.A. Burton officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Monday) from 6-9 at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Friends who wish may make contributions to the family.
She was born July 24, 1952, in Wadsworth to Robert and Arlene Burss and married Timm D. Robinson. He died in 1998.
Surviving are children, Constince "Connie," Chase and Bobby, all of the home; her mother, a brother, David (Terry) Burss, and sisters, Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Yoakem, Mrs. Mike (Sharon) Decker and Mrs. Tim (Sandy) Miller, all of Rittman.

Curtis Jones
GALION -- Curtis B. Jones, 83, 214 S. Pierce St., died Sunday morning, Sept. 17, 2000, at Galion Community Hospital after a five-week illness.
There will be no services or calling hours. Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville is handling arrangements.
He was born Sept. 9, 1917, near Perrysville to John and Eunice (McFadden) Jones and married Grace Butler on May 16, 1940. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Gary C. Jones of Spring, Texas, Jon W. and Rosemary Jones of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Becky and Jack Williams of Galion; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and several relatives in the Loudonville area.

Larry Haynes
DALTON -- Larry N. Haynes, 61, of Dalton, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 16, 2000, after an extended illness.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Reed Funeral Home, in Canton is handling arrangements.
Surviving are a daughter, Missy Schwartz and her husband, Richard, of Canton; a grandson, Matthew Schwartz of Canton; a sister, Sandy Becker and her husband, Phil, of Wooster; brothers and their spouses, Tim and Chris Haynes and Dave and Carolyn Haynes, all of Marshallville and Rick and Janet Haynes of Massillon; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Winkler
WOOSTER -- Mary Lucille Winkler, 84, 4138 E. Smithville Western Road, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. O.J. Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Reedsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to People to People Ministries, 454 E. Bowman St., Wooster 44691.
She was born Aug. 18, 1916, in Creston, to Amos and Elmina (Steele) Muller and married Roy J. Winkler on Aug. 16, 1936. He survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, David S. and Carole Winkler of Wooster, Virgil and Patricia Winkler of Creston and Ruth and Larry Wetz of Apple Creek; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Betty Powell
DOYLESTOWN -- Betty Jane Powell, 84, of Doylestown, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Brewster Parke in Brewster.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with the Rev. Harold Swafford officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1815 W. Market St., Akron 44313.
She was born in Barberton and had lived in the Doylestown community most of her life, until moving to Brewster Parke.
Surviving are daughters, Bonnie (Britt) Dougherty of Akron and Doris (Monroe) Beachy of Navarre; grandchildren, Tracey (Lonny) Gregory and Tricia Cleavenger, both of Akron, Todd Cleavenger of Kansas, Vicky (Beachy) Demastus of Nebraska, Bruce Beachy of Gnadenhutten, Cathy (Meekins) Head of Mingo Junction, Curtis Meekins of Akron; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Vivian) Shaffer of Clinton; three nephews; and other friends and relatives.
Her husband, Eldon "Shorty" Bowers, died previously.

Helen Snell
WOOSTER -- Helen Irene Snell, 94, a resident of the Wayne County Care Center, died Saturday morning, Sept. 16, 2000, at Wayne County Care Center, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with the Rev. Rufus Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Canaan Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne County Care Center Auxiliary, 876 S. Geyers Chapel Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Sept. 4, 1906 in Canaan to Frank A. and Mae (Whitmore) Snell.
Surviving are two sisters, Martha Cehrs of West Salem and Mary Soliday of Wooster and nieces and nephews.

Mildred Watson
MILLERSBURG -- Mildred L. Watson, 81, of Township Road 559, died Saturday morning, Sept. 16, 2000, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Holmesville Church of Christ with Pastor Don Campbell officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville.
Friends may call one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is handling the arrangements.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Holmesville Church of Christ, P.O. Box 146, Holmesville 44633.
She was born Oct. 17, 1918 in Holmes County and was the daughter of Halleck and Idella (Tuttle) Kendall. On April 2, 1938 she married Harry Watson and he preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1997.
Surviving are three children, Margaret Watson of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. Mark (Bonnie) Slater of Akron and Mrs. Dale (Ruthann) Reidenbach of Wooster; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Kendall of Ventura, Calif. and her faithful dog, Rusty.

Fred Aber
SHREVE -- Fred M. Aber, 97, 6314 S. Funk Road, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church, Shreve, with the Rev. Layton Broome officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to service at the church.
McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, Wooster, is handling arrangements.
He was born Sept. 30, 1902 in Perrysville to Ira and Nellie (McKinley) Aber.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Schwarzwalder Aber, whom he married June 4, 1929; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Thelma) Myers of Wooster; a granddaughter, Sandy K. Shriver of Shreve and a great-grandson, Mike R. Shriver of Genoa, Neb.

Thelma Riggs
WICHITA, Kan. -- Thelma Virginia McNight Riggs, 89, of Wichita, Kan. and formerly of Wooster, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at her home in the Larksfield Place Retirement Community in Wichita, Kan.
She was the mother of James Lander Riggs of Wooster.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Larksfield Place Retirement Community Chapel.
Memorials have been established in the name of Mrs. Riggs with Larksfield Place Retirement Community, 7373 East 29th Street North, Wichita, Kan. 67226 or Grace Presbyterian Church Youth Ministries, 5002 East Douglas, Wichita, Kan. 67208.
Arrangements are being handled by Cochran Mortuary in Wichita, Kan.
Surviving in addition to her son of Wooster, are another son, William McNight Riggs of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Eleanor Rae Guhl of Wichita, Kan. and Nancy Elizabeth Koucky of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Eleanor Haines of Modesto, Calif.

ORRVILLE -- Georgiana Kimble, 59, 834 McGill St., died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Akron General Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Orrville, with Father Paul Wysocki officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville.
Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home, Orrville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Wayne County, 5318 Tannerville Road, Orrville 44667 or Myasthenia Gravis, Ohio Chapter, 4945 West Tuscarawas, Canton 44708.
She was born June 26, 1941 in Binghamton, N.Y. to George and Gertrude (Petkash) Sedor.
Surviving are four sons, Michael D. "Mike" Kimble, William R. "Bill" Kimble, David G. Kimble, all of Orrville and Phillip J. "Jim" (Louella) Kimble of Wooster; four grandchildren; her parents of Orrville and a sister, Shirley (Ken) Staley of Wooster.
