John Conner
SMITHVILLE -- John Harry Conner, 90, 3426 Eby Road, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital, after an extended illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Thomas Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Nashville Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
He was born June 10, 1909, in Ripley Township, Holmes County, to Clarence and Ellie (Doty) Conner and married Ruth Parsell. She died May 14, 1970. He then married Dorothy Zurcher. She died Dec. 31, 1999.
Surviving are sons and their wives, Chester and Bonnie Conner of Loudonville and Gary and Shirley Conner of Lakeville; six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and seven step-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marguerite Eby of Smithville.

Quentin Fisher Jr.
LAKEMORE -- Quentin O. Fisher Jr., 56, of Lakemore, formerly of Orrville, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, from cancer.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, with the Rev. G. Rod Taylor officiating. Inurnment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1943, in Santa Barbara, Calif., to Quentin O. and Edna I. Fisher Sr., and had been married to Cynthia Marie Fisher for 26 years. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Quentin O. Fisher Jr. II, Timothy and Greg Stangelo, Sondra, Monica and Heather; nine grandchildren; and brothers, Raymond and Jon.

Emma Yoder
ARTHUR, Ill. -- Emma Yoder, 87, of Arthur, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Urbana Manor Care in Urbana, Ill.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Arthur Mennonite Church in Arthur, Ill., with the Revs. Phil Schrock and Theodore Wentland officiating. Burial will be at Arthur Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the church. Edwards Funeral Home, 221 E. Main St., Arcola, Ill., is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arthur Mennonite Church.
She was born April 2, 1912 in Benton to Sam D.J. and Mary (Schlabach) Miller and married Ura B. Yoder on Dec. 23, 1932 in Benton. He died July 7, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Ada E. Wilson and her husband, John William Wilson, of Champaign, Ill.; brothers and their wives, Jake and Ruth Miller of Orrville and Eli and Amanda Miller of Millersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Rex McIlvaine
CRESTON -- Rex G. McIlvaine 82, of Creston, formerly of Wadsworth, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital, after a brief illness.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, with the Rev. Jonathan Knight officiating. Burial will be at South Jackson Cemetery, Creston.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scholarship Foundation, in care of Ty Powers, 547 Wall Road, Wadsworth 44281.
He was born in Wadsworth.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth V. McIlvaine; children and their spouses, John and Sandy McIlvaine and Don and Tina McIlvaine, all of Wadsworth, Michael and Joyce McIlvaine of Wayne, Pa., Lynne and Jerry Dare of Boulder, Colo., and Jean and Butch Crabtree of Creston; and grandchildren, Scott (Katie) Smith, Kristen, Keith, Heather (Mike) Wickens, Michelle, Tyler, Laura and Brad.

Dale Hess
RITTMAN -- Dale E. Hess, 72, 10348 Steiner Road, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 12, 2000, at his home.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Rittman Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will be at the Apostolic Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born June 9, 1927, in Rittman to Ernest and Mary (Kasserman) Hess and married Ellen Aebi on June 12, 1948. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Jerry Hess, Dan Hess and his wife, Pat, all of Sterling, Mrs. Terry (Debbie) Boreman of Rittman and Mrs. Bill (Sandi) Watson of Massillon; nine grandchildren; a brother, Donald Hess of Woodsfield; and sisters, Ida Shoup of Orrville and Carol Frary of Rittman.

Albert Jones
LARGO, Fla. -- Albert T. Jones, 96, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Rittman, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, Fla.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with the Rev. Richard A. Lapehn officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 3:30 p.m.
He was born June 24, 1903, in Barberton to Francis J. and Sarah (Wood) Jones and married Mary Jones. She died in 1981.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Patricia Manson
WOOSTER -- Patricia J. Manson, 69, 2591 Batdorf Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Austin Health Care Center.
Private services will be held. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, is handling arrangements.
She was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to James Blaine and Nannie (Hundly) Vicars and married Richard Manson on Jan. 24, 1948. He survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Sharon Morris and Shirley Mendenhall, both of Wooster; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, James Vicars of Wooster, Russell Vicars of Shreve and Ronnie Vicars of Orrville.

Norman Aylesworth
WORTHINGTON -- Norman Douglas Aylesworth, 88, of Worthington, formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Riverside Hospital, after a brief illness.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270), where friends may call Friday from 12:30-2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Edge Dixon will officiate. Burial will be at Kingwood Memorial Park.
He was born July 19, 1911, in Big Prairie to James C. and Dora (Smetzer) Aylesworth.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Roberta Aylesworth; a son, Randall Aylesworth and his wife, Carrol, of Columbus; and granddaughters, Susan (Geoff) Retz and Laura Aylesworth, all of Columbus.

Mary Norris
DOVER -- Mary M. Norris, 98, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Country Club Retirement Center in Dover, after an extended illness.
She was the mother of Charles A. Norris of Smithville.
Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia, with the Rev. Donald Watson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association for research.
She was born June 25, 1901, in Keene, Coshocton County, to Charles and Harriet Pew and married Charles R. Norris. He died in 1990.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William H. (Mary) Eick of Brewster; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles Moot
CANTON -- Charles Gordon Moot, 73, of Canton, died Saturday morning, Jan. 8, 2000.
He was a hearing aid specialist for more than 50 years, having clientele in the Wooster area.
Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Reed Funeral Home in Canton.
He was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Richmond and Edith Moot.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Annette Moot, three children, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two brothers.

David Lehman Sr.
WOOSTER -- David L. Lehman Sr., 64, 323 W. Larwill St., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at his home.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Home in Wooster, with the Revs. Clancy Cruise, William Valentine and LeRoy Adams officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster; or to American Cancer Society, Wayne County Branch, 1740 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born July 29, 1935, in Wooster to Maurice D. and Edith (Aukerman) Lehman.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Judith Marie (Kaufman) Lehman; children and their spouses, Tonja and Ken Myrda and Mark and Lori Lehman, all of Wooster, David and Colleen Lehman Jr. of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Maurice T. and Olga Lehman, stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army; and grandchildren, Nicole, Jennifer, Johstin, Castiney and Natalie Lehman and Nicholas Myrda.

Homer Miller
WOOSTER -- Homer E. "Pat" Miller, 83, 4130 Swanson Blvd., formerly of Creston, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Smithville-Western Care Center, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Creston Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. James McCurdy officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorial contributions may be made to Creston Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 13070 Cleveland Road, Creston 44217.
He was born Feb. 26, 1916, on the family farm near Hermanville to Zeno S. and Stella (Lehman) Miller and married Helen Zuercher on Nov. 2, 1941. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Sandy Winkler of Sterling and Gary Miller and his wife, Marilyn, of Dayton; grandchildren, Brian and Jody Winkler and daughter, Megan, Tim and Deb Winkler and children, Justin and Jessica, Dan Winkler, Charity and Danny Wright, Hannah and Sarah Miller; and sisters, Grace Garver of Strasburg, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Thompson of Burbank and Mrs. Alex (Lois) Erdos of Wooster.

Golden Johnson
SHREVE -- Golden K. Johnson, 62, 330 Water St., P.O. Box 378, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be Friday at 6 p.m. at New Liberty Baptist Church, 207 Center St., Ashland, with the Rev. Michael Thompson officiating.
There will be no calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Home in Wooster, is handling arrangements.
Those who wish may make contributions to McIntire, Davis & Greene Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster 44691, to help defray funeral expenses.
He was born Feb. 14, 1937, in Peru, Ind., to Harrison and Inez (Spencer) Johnson.
Surviving are children, Kenneth of the home and Michelle Johnson of Texas; one grandchild; sisters, Mrs. Robert (Marge) Thompson of Jeromesville, Mrs. Dennis (Rena) Jenkins of Lebanon, Ga., Mrs. Dean (Elizabeth) Duttenhaver of Peru, Ind., Freida Marick of Silver Lake, Ind., Mrs. James (Judy) Montgomery of Shelby and Barbara June Ames of Indianapolis; and half-sisters, Pat, Carol, Sue and Rachie.

Darrick Eberly
DALTON -- Darrick J. Eberly, 10-year-old son of Roger L. and Joanne M. (Steckle) Eberly, 15852 Western Road, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 12, 2000, at his home from injuries sustained in a farm accident.
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at East Union Mennonite Church near Orrville, with Mark Good and David Van Pelt officiating. Burial will be at County Line Mennonite Church Cemetery near Dalton.
Friends may call today (Friday) from 2-4 and 6-9 at Valley View School, 15723 Hackett Road, Dalton.
Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.

He was born April 4, 1989 near Mount Eaton.
Other survivors include sisters, LuAnn, Cherilyn and Rosalyn, and brothers, Galen, Dustin and Charlan, all of the home; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Luella Eberly of Apple Creek; and maternal grandparents, Peter and Reta Steckle of Zurich, Ontario.

Bertha Lengacher
RITTMAN -- Bertha A. Lengacher, 91, of Rittman, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Rittman Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with James A. Foster officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ, 130 N. Main St., Rittman 44270.
She was born Oct. 5, 1908, in Sardis to Charles and Lena (Bruny) Lallathin and married Harry Lengacher. He died Sept. 15, 1994.
Surviving are sons and their wives, Russell and Suddie Lengacher of Wooster and Robert and Wanda Lengacher of Sterling, daughters, Mrs. John (Deloris) Suppes and Mrs. Robert (Charlene) Snyder, both of Rittman and Mrs. William (Janet) Hodge of Centralia, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchild; brothers, Ralph Lallathin of Sardis and Carl Lallathin of Wheeling, W.Va.; and sisters, Alice Riley of Wheeling, W.Va., and Evelyn Lallathin of Sardis.

Alta Youngen
SUGARCREEK -- Alta L. Youngen, 90, 122 Yoder Ave., died Wednesday evening, Jan. 12, 2000, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, after a brief illness.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Shanesville Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Ragersville Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
The family suggests contributions be made to Shanesville Lutheran Church.
She was born June 29, 1909, near Ragersville to Jacob and Alice (Schumacher) Mizer and married Charles Youngen. He died Nov. 12, 1978.
Surviving are sons and their wives, Lowell and Diana Youngen of Sugarcreek and Glenn and Kim Youngen of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Lloyd Mizer of New Philadelphia and Orrin Mizer of Normal, Ill.

Mabel Burckhart
ORRVILLE -- Mabel R. Burckhart, 90, 914 McGill St., died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at her residence after a lingering illness.
Memorial services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Orrville Mennonite Church, with the Revs. John and Barbara Lehman officiating. Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Martins Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 5-9 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville.

She was born Feb. 21, 1909, in Elkhart County, Ind., to Joseph and Mary (Wenger) Ressler and married Elias K. Burckhart on Sept. 18, 1932, in Orrville. He died Nov. 26, 1988.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Paul and Marna Burckhart of Hesston, Kan., Carolyn Powers of Wooster and Mary and Bill Hoover of Orrville; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers and their wives, Paul and Florence Ressler and Earl and Ruby Ressler, all of Orrville, and Ellis and Sadie Ressler of North Lawrence; and sisters and their husbands, Evelyn and Evan Taylor of Dalton, Marjorie and Joseph Kotva of Bedford, Inez Brubaker and Edna Brubaker, both of Orrville and Dorcas Ross of Wooster.

Donald Kintner
SEVILLE -- Donald B. Kintner, 87, of Hulbert Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Meadowview Care Center.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with the Rev. F.D. Donaldson officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery, Seville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 17, 1912, in Seville to Thomas and Florence (Bowers) Kintner.
Surviving are a cousin, Harry Weirath of Wadsworth and one other cousin; and special friends, Ed and Carol Pamer of Seville, with whom he had made his home.

Rolland Ross
WOOSTER -- Rolland A. Ross, 85, 1660 Barbara Drive, entered into rest Thursday morning, Jan. 13, 2000, in the emergency room at Wooster Community Hospital, due to declining health.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Wooster Mennonite Church, with Pastor Ralph Reinford officiating. Burial will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Wooster.
Friends may call Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Wayne County Branch, P.O. Box 267, Wooster; or to Wooster Mennonite Church, 1563 Beall Ave., Wooster 44691.
He was born June 20, 1914, in Elida to Walter and Fannie (Good) Ross and was married to Martha A. Ross. She entered into rest on May 31, 1989. On Sept. 8, 1990, in Wooster, he married Dorcas M. Ressler. She survives.
Surviving are children, Richard Ross of San Jose, Calif., Roger Ross of Dove Creek, Colo., and Alicia Ginther and her husband, Allen, of Hocksville, Texas; stepchildren, Donald Gable of Apple Creek, Timothy Gable of Laguna Niquel, Calif., Mrs. Eldon (Wava) Kornhaus of Kidron, Mrs. Frank (Evangeline) King of Mohnton, Pa., and Mrs. Eric (Phyllis) Mitchell of Parish, N.Y.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Ross of Orrville; a sister, Irene Heatwol of Harrisonburg, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
