DALTON -- Annie Slabach, 83, of Dalton, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at her home.
Private family services will be held, with Brother John McRae officiating. Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 267, Wooster 44691.
She was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Millersburg to Daniel and Sarah (Miller) Yoder and married Roman Slabach on Nov. 27, 1934. He died in 1989.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Allen and Etta Mae Slabach of Orrville, Elsie and Dale Klingler, Sylvia and David Drushell, Ruthie and Richard Kamph and Bonnie and Norman Lowe, all of Dalton; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, Allen Yoder of Apple Creek; and a sister, Mary Satterfield of Navarre.

Harvey Henney
TSUGARCREEK -- Harvey E. Henney, 88, of Sugarcreek, formerly of Millersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, after a short illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. David Carrick officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born July 5, 1911, in Holmes County to Samuel P. and Mary (Crilow) Henney.
Surviving are a sister, Margaret Miller of Shreve; a sister-in-law, Virginia "Ginger" Meyer of Wooster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Schuth
WOOSTER -- Mary E. Schuth, 80, 209 E. Milltown Road, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Select Specialty Hospital in Barberton.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David S. Harding officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.
Those who wish may make contributions to American Heart Association, Wayne County Branch, P.O. Box 267, Wooster; Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County, P.O. Box 874, Wooster; or Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, 4203 W. Old Lincoln Way, Wooster 44691.
She was born April 23, 1919, in Fremont to Earl E. and Florence B. (Marsh) Barnes, and married Richard E. Schuth on Feb. 21, 1942. He died Feb. 23, 1999.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. John (Christine) Guili of Wooster, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Predmore of Upper Montclair, N.J., and Mrs. Joel (Susan) Cutler of Medway, Mass.; grandchildren, Lisa, Michael and Laura Guili, Signe and Amanda Predmore and Jeffrey and Stephen Cutler; brothers, George Barnes of Clearwater, Fla., Clarence "Bud" Barnes of Wooster and Alan Barnes of Fairview, Texas; and sisters, Margaret White of Clearwater, Fla., Dorothy Hoffman of Delaware and Carol Barnes of Cumberland, Md.

Roman Yoder
SUGARCREEK -- Roman L. Yoder, 62, 1024 Shutt Valley Road, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at his residence.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Gospel Light Chapel, with Bishop Eli Weaver officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call today (Monday) from 2-4 and 6-8 at the church. Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, is handling arrangements.
He was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Holmes County to Levi J. and Tena (Troyer) Yoder and married Katie J. Miller on Dec. 5, 1957. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, David Ray and Mary Esta Yoder, Reuben and Betty Yoder, Mrs. Leon (Carol) Miller and Mrs. Mark (Martha) Beachy, all of Sugarcreek, Norman and Ruth Yoder of Zanesville, Floyd Allen and Marlene Yoder of Newcomerstown, Myron Yoder of Dover, Mrs. Tim (Sara) Miller of Belen, N.M., Mrs. Randy (Leona) Hartzler of Burlington, W.Va., Mrs. Joseph (Miriam) Hershberger of Mount Eaton and Mrs. Leon (Joanna) Troyer of Winesburg; 42 grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Susan) Shetler and Mrs. Mose (Elva) Troyer, both of Sugarcreek, Mrs. Alvin C. (Betty) Miller and Mrs. Emanuel N. (Katie) Yoder, both of Millersburg and Mrs. Christ M.A. (Sara) Miller of Baltic.

Harriett T. Brenneman
WALNUT CREEK -- Harriett T. Brenneman, 91, of Walnut Hills Retirement Home in Walnut Creek, formerly of Warsaw, died Saturday morning, Jan. 15, 2000.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. David Krankovich officiating. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Monday) from 7-9 at the funeral home, or until time of service Tuesday.
She was born Oct. 24, 1908, in Mount Vernon to B. Foster and Emma (Myers) Tulloss and married Harold D. Brenneman on Dec. 27, 1945. He died March 24, 1995.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Glenn Findley
LODI -- Glenn Albert Findley, 78, of Lodi, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Lodi Community Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi, with the Revs. Robert Holmes and David Howell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call tonight (Monday) from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court St., Medina 44256.
He was born May 17, 1921, in Homerville to Francis Lemon and Maggie (Mechlin) Findley and was married to Ollie (Barnett) Findley for 59 years. She survives.
Other survivors include nieces and nephews.

Abe Weaver
MACALISTERVILLE -- Abe P. Weaver, 70, of Route 1, died Saturday morning, Jan. 15, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital, from injuries sustained in a fall while trimming trees at his residence.
Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Aquillas Peachy residence, Route 1, McAlisterville. Burial will be at Van Wert Amish Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Friends may call anytime today (Monday) at the Weaver residence. Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, is handling arrangements.
He was born April 5, 1929, in Holmes County to Abe P. and Katie Ann (Miller) Weaver and married Drusilla M. Hochstetler on Jan. 1, 1952. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Martin A. and David A. Weaver, Katie Ann Wengerd, Rachel A. Peachy and Barbara A. Peachy, all of McAlisterville, Dan A. Weaver of Mifflintown, John A. and Jacob A. Weaver, both of Cochranton, and Elizabeth A. Weaver of the home; 36 grandchildren; brothers, Henry Weaver of Dalton and Dan Weaver of Wooster; and sisters, Verna Hershberger of Apple Creek, Fannie Troyer of Orrville and Annie Kauffman of Orristown.

Flo Lutz
ASHLAND -- Flo C. Lutz, 90, formerly of 654 Katherine Ave., died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, after a long-term illness.
She was the sister of Jennie Schrock and Ruth O'Hail, both of Smithville.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Denbow-Primm Funeral Home in Ashland, with the Rev. Budd L. Sprague officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Wayne County.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, where Ashland Chapter 92, Order of Eastern Star, will hold services at 9 p.m., or one hour prior to the services.
The family suggests contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, 220 Sandusky St., Ashland 44805.
She was born June 9, 1909 in Wayne County to John and Jennie Barden and married Robert C. Lutz. He died March 6, 1979.
Other survivors include a son, Lowell E. and Sharon Lutz of North Royalton; six grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Jean Lawrence
LODI -- Jean Mary Lawrence, 86, of Lodi, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Meadowview Care Center in Seville, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi, with Pastor Sheila Massengale officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 13, 1913, in Cleveland to Joseph and Mary (Thomas) Koren and married Leslie Lewis Lawrence. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Leslie Joseph Lawrence and his wife, Loretta, of Enon and Alan Lawrence of Panama; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Ida Fite
CHATHAM -- Ida Marie Fite, 68, of Chatham, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi, with the Rev. Roger Rice officiating. Burial will be at Chatham Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Firebrick, Ky., to John and Mae (Harr) Vaughn and married Robert Fite. He survives.
Other survivors include sons and their wives, Ronald E. and Linda Kay Fite of Everett, Wash., and Michael D. and Deborah Fite of Nankin; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Flo Breech and Emily Wessolek, both of Lodi and Mrs. Wayne (Lou) Varney of Spencer; and brothers and their wives, Jim and Ann Vaughn of Lodi and Harold and Cathy Vaughn of Columbus, Ga.

Fannie Crow
UPPER SANDUSKY -- Fannie May Crow, 77, 850 Marseilles St., formerly of Marion and Creston, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Fairhaven Nursing Center in Upper Sandusky, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with Pastor Stephen Olsen officiating. Burial will be at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, where services will be held at 7 p.m. by the Moose Lodge.
Memorial contributions may be made to Moose Haven-Moose Heart, in care of Moose International, Moose Heart, Ill. 60539-1100; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 30th St., NW, Suite 100, Canton 44709.
She was born May 28, 1922, in Moundsville, Ill., to Denton and Gaynelle (Ritchie) Crow and married Edward Crow on Nov. 19, 1945. He survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Gary and Virginia Crow and Richard Crow, all of Creston, Dennis and Peggy Crow, Jill Hall and Jo and Ryan Weston, all of Marion, Ronald and Flora Jean Crow and Robert and Patricia Crow, all of Stow, David and Linda Crow of Atlanta, and Carl Crow of Arizona; 32 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Crow of Winchester, Va.; and sisters, Ruth Thompson of Akron and Mary Ellen Coffield of Pennsylvania.

Harry Bucher
ORRVILLE -- Harry L. Bucher, 82, formerly of 608 W. Oak St., died Thursday morning, Jan. 20, 2000, at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster, where he had resided for the last year.
Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will be on the East Side of Fredericksburg Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Apple Creek to Harry L. and Edith (Foster) Bucher and married Ruth E. Kruhm on Jan. 17, 1948, in Orrville. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Dan and June Bucher of North Lawrence, Dennis Bucher and Diane and Dick Markley, all of Orrville, and Dave and Roxanne Bucher of Sterling; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Fickes of Fredericksburg.

Thelma Fowler
DOYLESTOWN -- Thelma E. Fowler, 81, of Doylestown, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with the Rev. Richard Lieghley officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Barberton to Oakley and Anna (Doubledee) Hetrick and married Charles F. Fowler Sr. He died in 1995.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Charles F. and Mary Fowler Jr. of Dalton, Tyrone D. and Brenda Fowler and Colleen and Christopher Weast, all of Doylestown, and Deborah and Michael Lieberth of Rittman; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick Hetrick of Chagrin Falls, Russell Hetrick of Bellvue, Sam Hetrick of Florida, and Lee Hetrick of Mississippi; a sister, Betty Morgan of Youngstown; and a half-sister, Celia Hetrick of Superior, Wis.

Esther Ross
DOYLESTOWN -- Esther M. Ross, 68, of Doylestown, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with John Ormond officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Church of Christ, 516 33rd St., SW, Barberton 44203.
She was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Doylestown to Harold and Helen (Owston) Frase and married Charles Ross on Sept. 30, 1950. He survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Dianna and John Hatfield of Marshallville, Barbara and Jim Trivette, Gene and Cathy Ross and David and Sue Ross, all of Doylestown; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters and their husbands, Charlotte and Bob Green and Sharon Close, all of Doylestown and Carol and Don Eckenrode of Wadsworth; and brothers and their wives, Harold and Fern Frase of Doylestown, Vern and Pat Frase of Tempe, Ariz., Ken Frase of Dalton and Les and Sue Frase of Xenia.

'Jean' Hammond
MCCONNELSVILLE -- Jeanette E. "Jean" Hammond, 92, 109 W. Main St., died Thursday morning, Jan. 20, 2000, at Horn Nursing Home, Wooster.
Private burial of the cremains will be at Shrimplin Cemetery, Killbuck. There will be no calling hours. Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, is handling arrangements.
She was born June 22, 1907, in Killbuck to Stephen and Ermany (Butler) Shrimplin and married Ben Hammond. He died previously.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Blance Knight
SHELBY -- Blanche Elaine Knight, 86, formerly of 17 West End Blvd., formerly of Wooster, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Heritage Care Center in Shelby.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m.-noon at Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St., Shelby.
She was born March 14, 1913, in Wooster to Lloyd Wilson and Pearl Harriet (VanNest) Sidle and married Sharon L. "Jack" Knight. He died in 1978.
There are no immediate survivors.
In addition to her husband, sisters, Mildred Kaler and Eleanor Kilgore, died previously.

Gertrude Samsa
PARMA HEIGHTS -- Gertrude Marie Samsa, 89, formerly of Parma Heights, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Glendora Health Care Center.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. The Rev. Scott Walsh will officiate. Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Community Church, in care of the Rev. Dave Truit, 6029 State Route 754, Millersburg 44654.
She was born May 23, 1910, in Parma Heights to John and Eva Ana (Katzenberger) Schowerth and married Louis J. Samsa on June 7, 1947. He survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Susanlou and Mark Falcon of Elyria, David and Betty Samsa of Navarre, Laurie J. and Ralph McClintock of Wooster and Diane and Steve Lanthorn of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Florence Scharff and Ruth Luke, both of Parma Heights.

James Lacy
ENGLEWOOD -- James L. Lacy, 94, 1177 Delmar St., formerly of Catherine Street in Wooster, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Beverly Health & Rehabilitation Center in Englewood, Fla.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. J. William Lofgren officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 28, 1905, in Campton, Ky. to Mort and Ida (Fulks) Lacy and married Retha Arnett. She died in June of 1964.
Surviving are children, Betty Bowman of Shreve, Don M. Lacy of Santa Clare, Calif., Mrs. Nick (Bonnie) Calamito of Englewood, Fla., and Pam Crawford of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel Hiles
HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Hazel Hiles, 86, a former Wooster resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She was born in Coshocton County on May 6, 1913, to Sheldon and Jane Green.
She is survived by her children, LaVerne Kehr of Milford, N.H., C.C. Bible of Big Point, Miss., Tony Bible of Ames, Iowa, and Sandra Gardella of Shreveport, La.; her three granddaughters and four grandsons; her three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; and one great-great-granddaughter.
There will be no services.

Opal Tuttle
WOOSTER -- Opal B. Tuttle, 85, of Horn Nursing Home, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Horn Nursing Home.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. William Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born March 18, 1914, in Holmes County to Abraham and Anna (Rush) Huffman and married Carl Harvey Tuttle on Nov. 25, 1937. He died Sept. 10, 1999.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Kaye and Roger Johnson of Wooster and Joyce and Dwight Watkins of Locus Grove, Ark.; grandchildren, Daniel Tuttle, Sherry Hixenbaugh, Melody Krieg, Allen Tuttle, Duncan Tuttle, Wendy Howard, Serina Findley, Jason Johnson and Nikki Penn; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, June Mitchell of Michigan; and a brother, Donald Huffman of Wooster.
