Richard Manson
WOOSTER -- Richard L. Manson, 75, 2591 Batdorf Road, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster.
Private services will be Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. O.J. Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens where military rites will be observed.
He was born July 11, 1924 in Shreve to Howard and Alta (Hershberger) Manson and married Patricia Vicars on Jan. 24, 1948. She died Jan. 11, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Morris and Shirley Mendenhall, both of Wooster; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a brother, Troyles "Pete" Manson of Millersburg.

Larry Jones
ORRVILLE -- Lawrence C. "Larry" Jones, 77, of Orrville, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Smithville Western Care Center in Wooster, where he resided for the past six months.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville with the Rev. Dave Daum officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery where military rites will be held.
Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials contributions may be made to the Orrville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3446, 430 West Market Street, Orrville 44667.
He was born on May 22, 1922 to Chantford and Ella Jones and married Sarah A. Schlabach on April 2, 1949 in Elkhart, Ind. She died on May 2, 1979.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Becky Jones of Orrville, three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Linda) Hanna of Orrville, Martha Sampsel of Dalton, and Mrs. Terry (Mary) Bilderback of Dalton; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, John Jones of Nevada, and a sister, Bonnie Mogle of Florida.

Irene Smeltzer
ORRVILLE -- Irene M. Smeltzer, 97, formerly of Orrville, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Copley Health Care Center, Copley.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville with the Rev. Dennis Rhinehart officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Nov. 29, 1902 in Bidwell to Charles and Gwinnie (Jones) McCormick and married Robert Smeltzer on Nov. 1, 1966. He died in 1976.
Surviving are a daughter, Helen Mock of Akron, two sons, Lowell Reynolds of Orrville and William Reynolds of Georgetown; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Ward Myers
WOOSTER -- Ward A. Myers, 67, 5865 Ely Road, died Saturday morning, Feb. 5, 2000, at Louis B. Stokes Veterans Hospital Wade Park Division.
There will be no services. There will be private burial at Apple Creek Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 27, 1932 in Wooster to John S. and Helen Irene (Carson) Myers.
Surviving are brothers, Roy R. of Wooster, Frank W. of New York, Ronald R. of Wooster and two sisters, Viola McRae and Naomi Lance, both of Wooster.

Cecelia Beichler
SMITHVILLE -- Cecelia C. Beichler, 96, formerly of 6194 Weilersville Road, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, Dalton, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville with the Rev. Allan Bevere officiating. Burial will be at Smithville Cemetery, Smithville.
Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 5, 1903 in Sterling to Julius and Marie (Cordelia) Giet and married Glen Beichler on Nov. 11, 1922. He died Nov. 6, 1963.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Beichler of Smithville and Carl and Joanne Beichler of Orrville; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gerald Patterson of Marshallville; daughter-in-law, Fayanna Beichler of Orrville; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Arlene Kurtz
SMITHVILLE -- Arlene E. Kurtz, 92, 573 S. Summit St., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Glendora Health Care Center, Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Mennonite Church with the Rev. Norma Duerksen officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Smithville.
Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home, Orrville and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Smithville Rescue Squad, Smithville Volunteer Fire Department, 232 N. Summit St., P.O. Box 517, Smithville 44677 or Oak Grove Mennonite Church Memorial Fund, 7843 Smucker Road, Smithville 44677.
She was born Feb. 23, 1907 in Sterling to Neri D. and Catherine Ellen (Kropf) Blough and married Clyde Kurtz in 1926. He died Jan. 22, 1990.
Surviving are a son, Dan Kurtz of Smithville, daughter, Helen Shisler of Smithville, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Russ Gregory of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Rial Finney
COPLEY -- Rial A. Finney III, 56, of Copley, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union Missionary Baptist Church, 4131 Swain Drive, Norton 44203.
He was born Dec. 11, 1943, in Barberton to Rial A. and Alice (Parke) Finney Jr. and married Pansy Copen on Dec. 22, 1965. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Rial A. Finney IV and his wife, Sindy, of Canal Fulton, Mark Finney and Tina Parker, both of Wadsworth, Patty Finney of Copley and Kim Abbot and her husband, Dale, of Kenmore; nine grandchildren; his mother of Doylestown; brothers, Richard A. Finney and his wife, MaryAnn, of Wooster and Randy A. Finney of Doylestown; and sisters and their husbands, Donna and Ed Hanic of Canal Fulton and Norma and Bill Rabey of Montana.

Charles Pond
DOYLESTOWN -- Charles R. Pond, 81, of Doylestown, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with the Rev. Dr. David Tennant officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown 44230.
He was born April 25, 1918, in Scott to James and Clara (Zeigler) Pond and married Madeline Carlisle on Sept. 7, 1946, She survives.
Other survivors include sons and their wives, Richard and Connie Pond of South Carolina, David and Marjorie Pond of Mansfield and Kenneth and Pat Pond of Doylestown; eight grandchildren; a brother, Dr. John Kent Pond of Urbana; and a sister, Lucille Dickinson of New Jersey.

June Risley
BURBANK -- June Risley, 75, 3385 W. Britton Road, died Sunday morning, Feb. 6, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Gary Pettyjohn officiating. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Monday) from 7-9 at the funeral home, or two hours prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Wayne County Branch, P.O. Box 267, Wooster 44691.
She was born May 30, 1924, in Meigs County to Omer and Dorothy (Randolph) Hess and married Samuel J. "Jack" Risley on Sept. 21, 1945. He survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Darrel and Sharon Risley of Yorba Linda, Calif., Herschel Risley of Winder, Ga., Denny and Joanne Risley of Maineville, Kevin Risley of Columbus, Jacqueline Risley of the home and Marcus and Lola Risley of Hilliard; three grandchildren; her mother Dorothy Duecker of Wooster; brothers and their wives, Drexel and Lucille Hess of Burbank, Eldred and Marie Hess of Wooster, Prentice and Carol Hess of Pomeroy and Dorrence and Donna Hess of Clinton; and a sister, Bertine Bain and her husband, Frank, of Des Moines, Iowa.

Saloma Falb
WOOSTER -- Saloma M. Falb, 87, 7791 Back Orrville Road, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Smithville Mennonite Church, with Pastor Burt Parks officiating. Burial will be at Smithville Mennonite Cemetery, Smithville.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Smithville Mennonite Church Women, P.O. Box 455, Smithville 44677; or to Calvary Hour, P.O. Box 5, Orrville 44667.
She was born June 28, 1912, in Smithville to John and Anna (Hostetler) Smucker.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Larry and Judy Falb of Lafayette, Ind., Lucille and Elvin Mast of Wooster, Ruth and Rex Waters of Westerville, Lorene and Gordon Amstutz of Kidron and Lois and Lynn Newcomer of Salina, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; 18 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Her former husband, Mylon Falb, died previously.

Fannie Miller
MILLERSBURG -- Fannie Miller, 85, died this morning, Feb. 7, 2000, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Ada) Yoder, 4835 Township Road 367, after a long illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the residence of her daughter, with Bishop Roy A. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery, Berlin Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, is handling arrangements.
She was born Oct. 27, 1914, in Holmes County to Benjamin D. and Lizzie Ann (Troyer) Kurtz and married Levi H. Miller on Nov. 28, 1935. He died Feb. 6, 1983.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Andrew and Amanda Miller of Summerville, Ky., Melvin and Amanda Miller of Baltic, Benjamin and Mary Lou Miller and Mrs. Levi (Emma) Raber, all of Millersburg, Jonas and Ella Miller of Berlin, Aden and Sue Miller of Sugarcreek, Mrs. Raymond (Susie) Hochstetler of Fredericksburg and Mrs. Elmer (Amanda) Mast of Shreve; 45 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Mrs. Alvin (Emma) Miller of Shreve; sisters, Mrs. Albert (Susan) Hershberger of Millersburg and Mrs. Dan G. (Amanda) Yoder of Baltic.

Roman Miller
SUGARCREEK -- Roman D. Miller, 88, 3177 County Road 70, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at his residence after an extended illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with minister John Henry Troyer officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery, Clark Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling arrangements.
He was born Aug. 6, 1911, in Holmes County to Dan J.A. and Susan (Weaver) Miller and married Edna Stutzman. She died Aug. 24, 1975. He then married Susan Hershberger on May 30, 1976. She survives.
Other survivors include a son and stepdaughter, Aden and Amanda Miller of the home, other children and their spouses, Noah and Fannie Miller of Millersburg, Roy and Mary Miller of Quaker City, Mrs. Melvin (Susie) Raber and Mrs. Dan (Lydie Ann) Yoder, both of Sugarcreek, Mrs. Wallace (Mary) Zook of Dundee and Mrs. Eli (Esther) Miller of Millersburg; stepchildren and their spouses, Leroy and Mattie Miller of Wilmot, Lester and Esther Miller and Mrs. Andy (Sara Mae) Miller, all of Mount Hope, Mrs. Henry (Elma) Troyer and Mrs. Ervin (Susie Ann) Hershberger, both of Millersburg; 58 grandchildren; 44 step-grandchildren; 106 great-grandchildren; and 71 step-great-grandchildren.

Wilma McPhail
WOOSTER -- Wilma R. "Jessie" McPhail, 76, formerly of 311 E. South St., died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 5, 2000, at Wayne County Care Center, where she had been a residence since Feb. 2, 1995.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne County Care Center Auxiliary, 876 S. Geyers Chapel Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Aug. 12, 1923, in Greenscreek, Miss., to Luther and Hassie (Reid) McPhail.
Surviving are children, Richard "Dick" Rutter and his wife, Judy, and Mrs. Dennis (Phyllis K.) Smith, all of Wooster and Lester Rutter of LaSalle, Ill.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Cassie (Ethel Rene) Smith of Greenscreek, Miss.

Donald Dice
WOOSTER -- Donald A. Dice, 78, 1579 Hawthorne Drive, died Saturday evening, Feb. 5, 2000, at Horn Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Alan Nathan officiating. Private burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster; or to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
Arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.
He was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Wooster to Archibald and Edith (Tawney) Dice and married Eleanor Gillis on June 26, 1948. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Dr. William H. Dice of Buffalo, N.Y., Richard S. Dice and Mrs. Scott (Darcy G.) Becker, both of Wooster; grandchildren, Megan Dice and Alex and Ken Becker; and a brother, William H. Dice of Wooster.

Anna Whalen
WOOSTER -- Anna Mae Whalen, 71, of Wooster, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at her home.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Mike McFarren officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make contributions to American Heart Association, Wayne County Branch, P.O. Box 267, Wooster 44691.
She was born May 7, 1928, in Youngstown to Howard J. and Elizabeth (Haines) Kelly and married Thomas Clinton Whalen on Oct. 19, 1946. He died June 1, 1976.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Thomas C. and Connie Whalen of Bristol, Ind., Connie and Nevin Nussbaum of Dalton, Bonnie Davis of Newton Falls, Carol and James Adams and Lori and Kevin Hookway, all of Orrville; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Larry Morriston
MILLERSBURG -- Larry F. Morriston, 55, of Millersburg, died Monday morning, Feb. 7, 2000, at his residence after an extended illness with multiple sclerosis.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Larry Hasemeyer officiating.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Holmes County, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg 44654.
He was born May 7, 1944, in Massillon to Frederick and Kathleen (Fortney) Morriston and married Shirley Treece on Sept. 13, 1964. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Mrs. Michael (Kathy) Lawhead and Jerry Morriston, both of Millersburg and Mrs. Tom (Connie) McCulloch of Wooster; three grandchildren; his parents; and a brother, Ben Morriston of Indianapolis.

Katie Miller
HOLMESVILLE -- Katie Miller, 87, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at the home of her son, Levi Miller of Holmesville, after an extended illness.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Zion Conservative Mennonite Church, Benton, with Aden R. Miller and Bennie Hostettler officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
She was born Nov. 18, 1912, in LaGrange, Ind., to David and Anna (Nisley) Miller and married Abe D. Miller on Dec. 16, 1937. He died Oct. 30, 1996.
Surviving are children, Roy and Levi Miller, both of Holmesville and Mrs. William (Mary) Hochstetler of Walnut Creek; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Stella Perunko
WARREN -- Stella (Wenckowski) Perunko, 89, formerly of Larchmont Avenue, NE, died Monday morning, Feb. 7, 2000, at Autumn Hills Nursing Center in Niles.
She was the mother of Charles C. Perunko of Wooster.
Services will be Wednesday at noon at Robert H. Roberts, Clark Memorial Home, 180 Garfield Drive, NE, Warren. Burial will be at Pineview Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
She was born Sept. 7, 1910, in Natrona, Pa., to Joseph and Marcella (Zadrozny) Wenckowski and married Cyril M. Perunko on May 4, 1934. He died Jan. 9, 1996.
Other survivors include daughters, Marcella A. Perunko of Park Forest, Ill., and Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth J.) Balson of Warren; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Barnes of Fresno, Calif., and Helen Rattay of Warren; and brothers, Edward Wenckowski of Warren and Casimer Wenckowski of Neffs.
