Ina Ziegler
WOOSTER -- Ina M. Ziegler, 98, 4400 Melrose Drive, died Monday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Home in Orrville.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, with the Rev. Robert Smeltzer officiating.
There will be no calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, is handling arrangements.
Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster; Church of the Cross, 5100 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Dec. 25, 1901, in Smithville to John B. and Verna (Rich) Gerig and married Glenn A. Ziegler. He died in 1959.
Surviving are children, Shirley Dutchak of Vienna, Va., and Jean Likens of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Evelyn Blatter and Bernice Hostetler, both of Orrville and Edithe Gerig of Wooster.

Eleanor Whitman
DOYLESTOWN -- Eleanor C. Whitman, 95, of Doylestown, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with Father David McCarthy serving as celebrant. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, where the rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Education Endowment Trust.
She was born July 23, 1904, in Danville, to Gregory and Nora Henley.
Surviving are children and their spouses; Norma and Joseph Koprivnik, Thomas and Nancy Whitman and Alice and Jim Hanawalt, all of Doylestown, Helen Bond of Garfield Heights, Jean and Richard Johnston of Albuquerque, N.M., Amy and Nicholas Isaac of Stow, Louis G. and Mary Whitman of Racine, Wisc., and Janet and Jim Arvin of Wadsworth; 35 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves sisters, Vida Jenney of Barberton and Eva Stahler of Chicago; sisters-in-law, Betty Whitman of Doylestown and Virginia Henley of Barberton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband of 70 years, Louis Whitman, died previously.

Ruth Arthur
BREWSTER -- Ruth M. Arthur, 77, of Brewster, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 29, 2000, at the Laurels of Massillon, after a brief illness.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster, with Pastor Ray Peters officiating. Burial will be at Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brewster United Methodist Church, 457 S. Wabash Ave., Brewster 44613.
She was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Brewster to Silas and Myrtle (Hanner) Snyder and married Walter J. "Jack" Arthur on June 5, 1945. He died Dec. 31, 1991.
Surviving are children, Mrs. Scott (Linda) Pierce and John Arthur, both of Navarre, Jim Arthur of Brewster and Joe Arthur of Millersburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Alma Geis of Brewster and Neva Sommers of Rittman; and a brother, Wayne Snyder of Shelby, N.C.

Aubrey Carathers
WOOSTER -- Aubrey L. "Orb" Carathers, 68, 1711 E. Moreland Road, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. William Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be conducted.
Friends may call tonight (Wednesday) from 6-8 at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Morgantown, Ky., to Shirley and Roxie (Burden) Carathers and married Joyce A. Johnson on Oct. 21, 1960. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Steve and Michelle Carathers of Wooster and Sherri and Mark Johnson of Apple Creek; grandchildren, Nico Lee Johnson and Cortney Jayne Carathers; his mother of Morgantown, Ky.; a sister, Wilma Durham of Morgantown, Ky.; and a brother Don Carathers and his wife, Vickie, of Wooster.

Dorothy Hibinger
SCIO -- Dorothy H. Hibinger, 90, formerly of Scio, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at her residence.
She was the mother and mother-in-law of Norman and Rose Hibinger of Orrville.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Koch Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., Scio, with the Rev. Jonathan Butera officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Scio.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Scio United Methodist Church, 117 Maple Ave., Scio 43988.
She was born April 1, 1909, in Scio to Charles C. and Sylvia (Dick) Grace.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Arlene) Easlick of Scio; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosalie Trushell, a resident of Harrison County Home.

Paul Buehler
WOOSTER -- Paul E. Buehler, 80, 552 Memory Lane, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Smithville-Western Care Center.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Dr. James Christensen officiating.
The family will receive friends following the services at the church. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, is handling arrangements.

He was born Sept. 29, 1919, in New Philadelphia to Alvin and Vernon (Winkler) Buehler and married Elsie Evey on May 8, 1948. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Candace Smith of Wooster; grandchildren, Ryan Paul, Alexis Kay and Audra Lynn Smith; and a sister, Eleanor Leiser of Dover; and a brother, Elvin Buehler of Canton.

Dale Hotchkiss
WOOSTER -- Dale Vance Hotchkiss, 69, of Wooster, died Tuesday night, Feb. 29, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

He was born May 10, 1930, in Wakeman Township.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Roberta (Black) Hotchkiss; his mother, Dixie (Byron) Hotchkiss, and a brother, Clyde Hotchkiss, both of New London.

Alvin Yoder
MILLERSBURG -- Alvin I. Yoder, 98, 5530 Township Road 127, died this morning, March 2, 2000, at his residence after a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Leroy Miller officiating. Burial will be at Beachy Cemetery, Mechanic Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call at the residence anytime. Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling arrangements.
He was born May 13, 1901, in Holmes County to Isaac D. and Sarah (Troyer) Yoder and married Katie Miller on Nov. 21, 1929. She died Jan. 14, 1994.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Roman and Fannie Yoder, Verba and Sam Yoder and Bena and Roman Miller, all of Sugarcreek, Isaac and Ellen Yoder, Amanda and Wayne Beachy and Fannie and Dennis Miller, all of Millersburg, Levi and Mary Yoder and Anna Yoder, all of the home, and Martha and Henry Coblentz of Fredericktown; 55 grandchildren; 173 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Albert Yoder
AUSTINTOWN -- Albert D. "Bert" Yoder, 81, of Austintown, died Wednesday morning, March 1, 2000, at his home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Patricia Young officiating. Burial will be at Fredericksburg East Cemetery.
Local calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
Out of town calling hours will be Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home in Austintown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Road, Austintown 44515.
He was born Nov. 5, 1918, in Holmes County to Dan A. and Barbara (Miller) Yoder and married Linda Boring on Dec. 7, 1973. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Edgar P. Yoder and his wife, Debra, of State College, Pa., Lester A. Yoder of Berlin and Jean Ann Landon of Baltic; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Eli D.A. Yoder of Winesburg and Jacob D. Yoder of Mount Eaton; and sisters, Mrs. Junior B. (Iva) Mast of Walnut Creek, Mrs. Ralph (Sara) Schlabach and Mrs. Edward (Anna) Schlabach, both of Sugarcreek and Mrs. Levi (Clara) Coblentz of Winesburg.

R. LaVonne Graber
WOOSTER -- R. LaVonne Graber, 90, 2130 Millersburg Road, died Wednesday morning, March 1, 2000, at her home.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Smithville Brethren Church, with Pastors Paul Sluss and Art Carr officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Paradise Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.

She was born May 13, 1909, in Canaan Township, to Clark and Sadie (Baker) Pletcher and married Eli Graber on May 13, 1936. He died April 7, 1976.
Surviving are daughters and their spouses, Anita and Karl Roller of Wooster and Jacki and John Gingrich of Claremont, Calif.; grandchildren and their spouses, Duane Roller of Wooster, David and Mina Roller of Green Oaks, Ill., John C. Gingrich and Christine Currie of San Ramon, Calif., and Joel Gingrich of Irvine, Calif.; and a great-grandson, Eli Roller of Green Oaks, Ill.

Ralph Morris
WOOSTER -- Ralph D. Morris, 87, 2529 Monterey St., died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at West View Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Private burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born June 10, 1912, in Shreve to David Asher and Emma Lois (Dye) Morris and married Irene Sidle. She died in 1984. He then married Ethel M. (Eschliman) Jolliff, on June 10, 1992. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Donald D. Morris of Wooster and Gary A. Morris of Columbus; stepchildren, Robert A. Jolliff of New Orleans, Thomas L. Jolliff of Orrville and Mrs. Russ (Marilyn) Hasseman of Dalton; six grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

Melvin Shoup
NAVARRE -- Melvin W. Shoup, 79, of Navarre (near Mount Eaton), died Thursday morning, March 2, 2000, at Country Lawn Nursing Home in Harmon, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Longenecker Mennonite Church, with Pastor Glenn Coblentz officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
He was born Feb. 8, 1921, near Mount Eaton to William Frank and Kate (Baumgardner) Shoup and married Fannie Kuhns on Nov. 10, 1946. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Marvin and Carol Shoup of Trail, Doyle and Judy Shoup of New Philadelphia, Kenneth and Sara Shoup, Delores and Earnest Raber and Doris Shoup, all of Mount Eaton, Lester and Janet Shoup and Milton and Sharon Shoup, all of Dundee, and Pauline Shoup of the home; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Lloyd Shoup of Dalton and Clayton Shoup of Orrville.

Henry Lower
CASSELLBERRY, Fla. -- Henry C. Lower, 78, 631 N. Winter Park Drive, formerly of Baltic, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at New Bedford Cemetery. The body has been cremated. Smith Funeral Home in Baltic, is handling arrangements.
He was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Coshocton County to Joseph and Mary (Storm) Lower and married Anna Lee Morris in 1945. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Henry Lower Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Joseph C. Lower and his wife, Joann, of Front Royal, Va.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Leonard Brown
BRINKHAVEN -- Leonard George Brown, 83, 2445 County Road 75, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at his residence.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with Pastor Clifford Beck officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery, Holmes County.
Friends may call Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union Grove Church of Christ, 2135 Township Road 2, Killbuck 44637; or to Hospice of Holmes County, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg 44654.
He was born April 24, 1916, in Holmes County to Clifford C. and Blanche (Bower) Brown and married Alice Cooper on June 12, 1938. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, James Leonard Brown of Ashland, Larry Dean Brown of Newark and William C. Brown of Brinkhaven; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

APPLE CREEK -- David M. Nisley, 50, 7076 S. Carr Road, died Thursday morning, March 2, 2000, at his home.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Dan L. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery, Apple Creek.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, is handling arrangements.
He was born Sept. 4, 1949, in Wooster to Mose and Susan (Yoder) Nisley.

Boyd Fleming
BIG PRAIRIE -- Boyd Fleming, 87, 7741 County Road 51, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at his residence.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Christopher P. Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-9 at Johnston-Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, where Masonic services will be held at 8:45.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, in care of Betty Conner, 74 Spring Drive, Millersburg; or to Hospice of Holmes County, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg 44654.
He was born July 22, 1912, in Ripley Township, to George and Ida (McMillen) Fleming and married Marcella M. Hostettler on June 25, 1937. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Patricia and Larry Young of Millersburg, Jane and Duane Agnew of Shreve, James W. and Linda Fleming of Mansfield and Robert and Cheryl Fleming of Big Prairie; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Bernard Tepe Jr.
WOOSTER -- Bernard J. Tepe Jr., 61, 1261 Sunnyview Drive, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at his home.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Church of the Saviour, Wooster, with the Rev. Jerry Durham officiating. Entombment will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Huntington, W.Va.
Friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.

He was born July 6, 1938, in Cincinnati to Bernard J. and Mary (McGee) Tepe and married Barbara Wheeler on Aug. 12, 1967. She survives.
Other survivors include sons and their wives, John G. and Sarah Tepe of Cincinnati and Michael S. and Andrea Tepe of Wooster; grandchildren, Suzanne and Denise Tepe; and his mother-in-law, Elliott M. Powers of Huntington, W.Va.
