MILLERSBURG -- Bobby C. Bird Sr., 62, of Millersburg, died Tuesday evening, July 24, 2001, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a short illness.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 6-9 at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Clay Memorial Gardens, Clay, W.Va. with the Revs. Herman Angle and Namon Moore officiating.
Friends may call Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Clay W.Va.
He was born July 6, 1939, in Clay County, W.Va., and was the son of Dow and Evelena (Truman) Bird. On April 21, 1962, he married Phyllis Holcomb and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Anita and her husband, Gary Westfall of Millersburg, Darlene Bird of Millersburg and Bobby C. Bird Jr. of Millersburg; his mother, Evelena Bird of Lizemores, W.Va.; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters and their spouses, Brenda and Charles McCune of Lizemores, W.Va. and Sheila and Mike Jones of Lizemores, W.Va. and three brothers and their spouses, Jerry and Peggy Bird of Crown Hill, W.Va., Eugene and Sylvia Bird of Lizemores, W.Va. and Wayne and Reba Bird of Lizemores, W.Va.

Esther Lytle
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Esther R. Lytle, 96, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Falls Village Retirement Community.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown with Pastor Eloy Pacheco officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Cuyahoga Falls Cancer Club, or to Cuyahoga Falls Paramedics.
Esther Lytle was born April 9, 1905, in Doylestown, to John H. and Bertha (Cook) Weinsheimer and married Carl Lytle Sr. He died previously.
She is survived by daughter, Jeanne (Gerald) Richardson; sons, Carl (Betty) Lytle Jr., Robert (Harriet) Lytle, all of Cuyahoga Falls, Donald (Mildred) Lytle of Fort Worth, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Katherine Gorsuch.

Lehr Brenneman
WOOSTER -- Lehr L. Brenneman, 88, 1487 Rumbaugh Circle, died Monday evening, July 23, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a brief illness.
Private family services will be held. The Rev. Glenn Royer will officiate. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Those who wish may contribute to Trinity United Church of Christ, 150 E. North St., Wooster 44691 or to The Salvation Army, 437 S. Market St., Wooster 44691 in his memory.
Arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster.
He was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Wooster, to William K. and Daisy Mae (Musselman) Brenneman.
Surviving are his wife, Edith M. (Derr) Brenneman, whom he married June 19, 1936 in Wooster; daughters and sons-in-law, Deanne K. and Charles Clegg of Columbus, Sue Ann and Paul Fouche of Wooster and Margee L. Brenneman-Turner and her husband, Terry of Lewes, Del. and two grandchildren.

Gregg Wood
WOOSTER -- Gregg P. Wood, 52, 311 E. South St., died Monday, July 23, 2001, at his home.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home with the Rev. William H. Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Wednesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Wayne County Unit, in care of The Wooster Clinic, 1740 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born July 31, 1948, in Akron, to Edwin and Iris (Barber) Wood.
Surviving are his mother of Wooster; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Richard Hartman of Wooster and Vickie and Dean Griffin of Orrville and two nieces.

Evelyn Marshall
HOWARD -- Evelyn Mae Marshall, 83, 20711 Earnest Road, died early Tuesday morning, July 24, 2001, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. Clifford C. Beck officiating. Burial will be at Bigelow Cemetery, Brown Township.
Friends may call today (Wednesday) from 4-7 at the funeral home or Thursday before services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
She was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Wisconsin, to Clarence and Alma (Butler) Derrenberger and married Fred Marshall. He died previously.
Surviving are a son, Larry Marshall of Howard; her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Larry Lyons of Danville; two grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Reda and Robert Simon, Fern and Kenneth Fletcher and Evelyn Kendall, all of Newark; brothers and sister-in-law, James Morris of Marion, Wayne and Lucille Morris and Charles Morris, all of Loudonville; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Alvin Miller
MILLERSBURG -- Alvin B. Miller, "Lil Abner," 81, 7011 State Route 39, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Sunset View Nursing Home, Millersburg, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Countryside Chapel, State Route 93, Baltic, with Pastor Gary Yackey officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek.
Friends may call from 1-3 and 5-8 today (Wednesday) at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Holmes County Gideons, P.O. Box 241, Berlin 44610 or to Wycliffe Bible Translators, in care of Hank Hershberger, 3864 Township Road 162, Sugarcreek 44681.
He was born March 30, 1920, in Holmes County, to Ben J. and Emma (Gingerich) Miller. On Sept. 28, 1957, he married Sue Schrock and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons and their spouses, Myron and Andrea Miller, Maurice and Cindy Miller and M. Scott and Missy Miller, all of Millersburg; grandchildren, Jared, McKenzie, Chad, Brant, Brodryc, and Carrick Miller, Aaron Hostetler and Bryce Norman; two brothers and their spouses, Ura and Vesta Miller and Roman and Ada Miller, all of Millersburg; two sisters, Sarah Miller of Millersburg and Elva and husband, Reuben Kaufman of Monrovia Liberia, West Africa.

Alia Palombi
CRAFTON, Pa. -- Alia Carmella (Tomassetti) Palombi, 86, of Crafton, Pa., formerly of Wooster, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Beverly Nursing Center in Canonsburg, Pa.
Funeral Mass will be held today (Wednesday) at 10 at St. Philip Church in Crafton, Pa.
Arrangements are being handled by Leo J. Henney Funeral Home of Carnegie, Pa.
She was born Nov. 4, 1914, in Wooster, to Giovanni "John" and Assunta (Delfonzo) Tomassetti and married Frank E. Palombi. He died Dec. 16, 1988.
Surviving are children, Attilio Palombi of Wooster, Rosa (Jerry) Galla of Hampton, Va., Frank (Marianne) Palombi Jr. and Asunta (Bill) Miller, both of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Joseph and Judy O'Connell, both of California, Virginia Gray of Pittsburgh, and Mary Bromfield; and brothers, John Tomassetti of Wooster and Carl Tomassetti of Rittman.

Alan Parker Sr.
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Alan A. Parker Sr., 70, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Saturday, July 21, 2001.
At his request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Arrangements were handled by Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Health Care Center of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333.
He was born April 3, 1931, to Clarence A. and Pauline V. (Tibbets) Parker.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Mary Ellen; children, Mary Murphy, Glenda Joyce (William) Tomassetti and Robert C. (Kathy) Haught, all of Wooster, and John R. (Dayssi) Haught of Henderson, Nev.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Lashley of San Antonio, Texas.

Raymond Dix
WOOSTER -- Raymond Eugene Dix, 92, former publisher of The Daily Record in Wooster, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Wooster with the Rev. Dale Sanford officiating. Private burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours, but a reception will follow in Wesley Hall after the services.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boys' Village, P.O. Box 518, Smithville 44677; or to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born Aug. 5, 1908, in Wooster to Emmett C. and Edna (Vorhees) Dix.
On Oct. 15, 1932, he married Carol Gustafson, a 1932 graduate of The College of Wooster. She died Jan. 26, 2000. For many years the couple lived at 647 Northwestern Ave., Wooster, the home in which Dix was born.
Surviving are children R. Victor Dix and his wife, Carolyn, of Wooster; Edna Crocker and her husband, David, of University Park, Md.; and Ellen Dungan and her husband, Albert, of Larchmont, N.Y. Grandchildren and spouses, Debra (Bill) Kessler of Sopchoppy, Fla., Andrew (Kristin) Dix of Cleveland, Susan Dix of Tampa, Fla., and Daniel (Monica) Dix of Sanibel, Fla., all children of Victor and Carolyn Dix; Cathy (Steve) Moser of Larchmont, N.Y., Amanda (Don) Martocchio of New York City, and David Crocker of University Park, Md., all children of Edna and David Crocker; and Bridget Dungan of Larchmont, N.Y., daughter of Ellen and Albert Dungan. Great-grandchildren, Travis, Sarah, Chelsea and Rachael, children of Debra (Bill) Kessler; Cole and Lucas, children of Susan Dix; Anna, daughter of Cathy (Steve) Moser; and Julia and Luke, children of Amanda (Don) Martocchio. Brothers, Gordon C. Dix of Naples, Fla., and J. Harlan Dix, M.D., of Killbuck.

Willis Frase
DOYLESTOWN -- Willis E. Frase, 85, of Doylestown died Friday, July 20, 2001, at Doylestown Health Care Center.
Private family services have taken place. Burial was at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
He was born April 4, 1916, in Canal Fulton to Melvin and Lottie (Ginther) Frase.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.

James Kanehl
WEST SALEM -- James R. Kanehl of Deer Lick Farm, West Salem, died Friday, July 20, 2001, after a brief illness.
Services will be Tuesday, July 24, at 2 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wooster Rotary Foundation Inc., in care of W. Lee Culp, 1310 N. Bever St., Wooster; or to Ida Sue School/Nick Amster Workshop, 266 Oldman Road, Wooster 44691.
James was born in Kansas City, Kan., to Fritz and Florence Kanehl.
James married Pat Balsiger in Kansas City, Mo.
Surviving are his wife, Pat and son, Karl, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Tim Allen and grandson, Jake (Allen) Termeer of West Salem; and his brother, Jonathan Fox of Los Angeles, Calif. Additionally, many cousins survive in Ohio, Iowa, California and Missouri.

Ruth Mackey
CROSSVILLE, Tenn. -- Ruth Elizabeth Mackey, 77, of Crossville, Tenn., died Wednesday, July 11, 2001.
Services were held Saturday, July 14, at Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville, Tenn., with Brother Paul Fox officiating. Burial was at Green Acres Cemetery in Crossville, Tenn.
She was born April 20, 1924, in Orrville, to Walter and Mary (Bowers) Mangle.
Surviving are children, Robert (Pat) Mackey of Shreve, Howard Mackey and Mary Jane (J.D.) Barnes, both of Crossville, Tenn., and Becky (Mark) Vinson of Cookeville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Everett Trautwein
UPPER SANDUSKY -- Everett L. Trautwein, 77, 19214 SH 37, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Marion General Hospital.
He was the father of Dennis Trautwein of Dalton.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Bringman-Clark & Co. Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Rex Roth officiating. Burial will be at Chandler Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marseilles Presbyterian Church; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born June 23, 1924, in Mifflin Township, Wyandot County, to Floyd and Lola (Owens) Trautwein and married Lovena M. McCollough on Oct. 12, 1948 in Arlington. She survives.
Other survivors include children, William and Jeffrey Trautwein, both of Upper Sandusky and Rebecca (Jeffrey) Blue of Bradner; eight grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Trautwein of Fremont; and sisters, Irene Musgrave of Forest and Ruth Scheck of Sebring, Fla.

Floyd Young
WOOSTER -- Floyd J. Young, 73, of Center Drive, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Stull officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wooster Township Fire Department, 1917 Millersburg Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born May 22, 1928, in Bath to Elvin F. and Lois (Lightfoot) Young and married Clara Belle Stein on Feb. 26, 1949. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Belinda (Melvin) Hochstetler of Shreve; grandchildren, Brian and Brad Hochstetler; a sister, Marion Horn of Bath; and a brother, Paul Young of Dayton.

Jason Frank
LOUDONVILLE -- Jason Scott Frank, 25, 415 1/2 Rose Court, died Thursday morning, July 19, 2001, at Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center, from injuries sustained in an auto accident Wednesday in Ashland County.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Revs. James Conn and Jim Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
He was born Aug. 28, 1975, in Mansfield.
Surviving are a daughter, Kendra Morrison of Johnsville; his father, David E. Frank of Liberty Mills, Ind.; his mother, Shirley J. (Young) Frank of Loudonville; sisters, Laura (Chris) Daniels of Butler, Annette (Tim) Reid, Amy (Roy) Wilson, April (Aaron) Nestich and Melanie Frank, all of Loudonville and Stephanie Frank of Lake Dallas, Texas; nieces and nephews; and maternal grandmother, Marilyn Young of Mansfield.

Carolyngene Campbell
LADY LAKE, Fla. -- Carolyngene Wilma Campbell, 74, of Lady Lake, Fla., died Saturday, July 7, 2001.
Services will be held today (Saturday) at Water Oaks Community, where she had made her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lake and Sumter Inc., in memory of Jack and Carolyn Campbell.
She was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Wooster to Charles and Emma (Swartz) Stelzer and married Jack Richard Campbell. He died in 1999.
Surviving are a son, Geoffrey Scott Campbell of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Michael, Bryan, Amber and Kathryn Campbell; a sister-in-law, Pauline Campbell of Wooster; nephews, John Campbell, Tom Martin, Blair Lee Shallenberger; nieces, Jayne Campbell, Kathy Easter and Pat McCreary.

Hallie Dilly
WARSAW -- Hallie M. Dilly, 79, 29662 County Road 22, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at her home after a short illness.
She was the mother of Arlie (Geri) Dilly of Millersburg.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will be at Dutch Run Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, or until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Coshocton County, 230 S. 4th St., Coshocton 43812.
She was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Flat Top, W.Va., to Isaac Vaughn and Mamie Lee (Pettry) Moye and married Thomas Lee Dilly on April 18, 1938. He died Oct. 6, 1983.
Other survivors include children, Rosie (Jim) Buckmaster of Coshocton, Danny (Cherie) Dilly and Don Dilly, both of Warsaw and Randy (Nancy) Dilly of Dresden; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; seven sisters and three brothers.
