Paul Clark
SALEM -- Paul Clark, 96, of Salem, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001.
Services were Saturday at Zion Hill Church of the Brethren in Columbiana. The Rev. John Bartholomew officiated. Burial was at Zion Hill Church Cemetery.
Surviving is his sister, Margaret King of Orrville.

John J. Puskas
WEST SALEM -- John J. Puskas, 35, of West Salem, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Lodi Community Hospital in Lodi.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Father John Mueller officiating.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the John J. Puskas family to help with funeral expenses.
He was born Jan. 26, 1965 in Ravenna to John and Carol (Pulliam) Puskas .
Surviving are his wife, Ruby (Branham) Puskas, whom he married on Aug. 20, 1999; three children, Sasha Puskas, April Christy and Ashley Christy of the home; his father, John Puskas of Berea; his mother, Carol (James) Gandee of West Salem; two sisters, Rhonda Lawrence of Brunswick and Dana Richmond of Beloit and three brothers, Eddie Puskas of Brunswick, Jamie Gandee and Toby Gandee, both of Sebring.

Eula Maas
WOOSTER -- Eula B. Maas, 82, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at her residence, following a sudden illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with Dr. Claude L. McComas officiating. Interment will be at Loudonville Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westwood Baptist Church, 969 Blachleyville Road, Wooster 44691.
Mrs. Maas was born Sept. 26, 1918 in Loudonville, to William H. and Martha E. (Sidle) Lifer.
She married Milo Maas on April 27, 1941 in Hiram. He went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 24, 1989.
She is survived by sons, Roger A. (Sally I.) Maas and John P. Maas, all of Wooster; three grandchildren, Deborah J. Miller of Waynesburg, Robin E. Maas, Tamara I. Speicher of Wooster; three great-grandchildren, Kenneth A. Miller and Eric J. Miller, both of Waynesburg and Blake A. Speicher of Wooster.

Esther Mesner
CHARLTON HEIGHTS, W.Va. -- Esther F. Mesner, 75, of Charlton Heights, W.Va., formerly of Ashville, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Montgomery General Hospital, Montgomery, W.Va., after an extended illness.
Graveside services were held today (Wednesday) at 11 at Berlin Cemetery, with Pastor Joseph G. Law officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, W.Va.
She was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Berlin to Benjamin and Emma Yoder and married George A. Mesner. He died previously.
Surviving are children, Rebecca J. Morris of Charlton Heights, W.Va., Christine A. Mesner of Hilliard and Stephanie L. Smith of North Canton; a grandson; sisters, Clara Snyder of Sugarcreek and Dorothy Ling of Berlin; and brothers, Myron Yoder of Sugarcreek and Wayne Yoder of Apple Creek.

Grant Holcomb
WOOSTER -- Grant Holcomb, 57, of Wooster, formerly of Fola, Clay County, W.Va., died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at his home after a short illness.
Graveside services were held today (Wednesday) at 11 at Sunset Cemetery in Fola, W.Va., with the Rev. Rodney Smith officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, W.Va.
He was born Dec. 7, 1943, in Fola, W.Va.
Surviving are a son, Richard Holcomb of Wooster; two grandchildren; and brothers, Donald R. Holcomb of Fola, W.Va., and Delmer Holcomb of Wadsworth.

Randy Pratt
WOODBRIDGE, Va. -- Randy Aaron Pratt, 39, of Woodbridge, Va., formerly of Millersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, with cystic fibrosis.
Memorial services were held Sunday, Jan. 7, at Dale City Church of God in Virginia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Chapter of Ohio, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 960 Kingsmill Parkway, Suite 101, Columbus 43229.
He was born Aug. 6, 1961, in Columbus to David and Barbara Pratt.
Surviving are his wife, Misty of Woodbridge, Va.; his parents of Millersburg; a sister, Robin Howell of Fredericksburg, Va.; maternal grandmother, Alcy Bonham of Millersburg; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

Randolph McGill
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Randolph C. "Mac" McGill, 92, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Henneman officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 27, 1908 in Putnam County, W.Va., to Charles L. and Nancy (Casey) McGill and married Theresa Reynolds on March 3, 1952. She died May 9, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Stephen) Yoder of Wooster; two grandchildren and nieces.

Marie Hochstetler
WADSWORTH -- Marie Hochstetler, 83, of Wadsworth, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Altercare of Wadsworth.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman with Robin Hart officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Rittman Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorials may be made to Tri-County Hospice, 102 Main St., Suite 304, Wadsworth 44218.
She was born June 29, 1917 at Wallins Creek, Ky., to Andrew and Rita (Kinnard) Hensley.
Surviving are sons, Donald (Virginia) Money and David (Linda) Money; daughters, Mrs. Earl (Doris) Taylor, Mrs. Bob (Mary) Hood, and Margaret; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Orville Hensley of Rittman and sisters, Rosa Krahenbuhl of Rittman and Billie Eads of Berea, Ky.

Robert Hall
LOUDONVILLE -- Robert C. Hall, 81, 224 N. Jefferson St., died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at his home.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. David Baynes officiating. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call tonight (Wednesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
He was born July 26, 1919 in Holmes County, to Warney and Emma (Carpenter) Hall.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Diana Hall of Mooresville, Ind., Richard and Lydia Hall of Oakhurst, N.J., Roger and Dee Hall of Amanda and Jerry Hall of Mansfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Bevely Au of Jefferson, Sandy and Larry Stepbeton of Stoutsville, Bonnie and Homer Woodring of Perrysville and Becky and Ralph Self of Lancaster; five stepchildren; 16 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ruth Kinney and Lola Zickefoos, both of Loudonville.

Bertha Chupp
ORRVILLE -- Bertha M. Chupp, 68, 10012 Rohrer Road, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman with the Rev. Jim Palmer officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Wednesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
She was born April 26, 1932 in Monroe County, to Forrest and Ella (Marty) Thomas.
Surviving are her husband, Levi Chupp; a son, Donald Napier of Rittman; daughters, Carol Gartin and Barbara Minney, both of Rittman and Doris Napier and Connie Altvater, both of Wooster; stepdaughters, Waverlene Eagle of Apple Creek and Martha Chupp of Orrville; nine grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; a great-grandson and brothers, Forrest Thomas Jr. of Wadsworth, Russell Thomas of Orrville, and Harold Thomas of Wooster.

Evelyn Safarik
ASHLAND -- Evelyn P. Safarik, 84, of Kingston of Ashland, 20 Amberwood Parkway, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland.
Services of Christian Burial will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
She was born March 17, 1916 in Fayette, Iowa, to Elmer and Beatrice (Duggan) Bailey. She married Norbert J. Safarik on Nov. 21, 1942. He passed away March 1, 1996.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James N. and Marjorie Safarik of Ashland; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Helen Wentling
NAVARRE -- Helen Wentling, 81, of Navarre, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 10, 2001, at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster with Pastor Scott Walsh officiating. Burial will be at Welty Cemetery near Brewster.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Justus United Methodist Church, 11771 Navarre Road SW, Navarre 44662.
She was born Sept. 19, 1919 near Dundee, to Jesse and Edna (Knipe) Silvius and married Wilbur D. Wentling on Aug. 17, 1941. He died Oct. 9, 1998.
Surviving are a daughter Jean (Dale) Miller of Minerva; a son, Robert D. (Gloria) Wentling of Navarre; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ellen Harmony
MILLERSBURG -- Ellen Alexander Harmony, 81, of Millersburg, died Monday evening, Jan. 8, 2001, at Sunset View Nursing Home, Millersburg, following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with pastor David Carrick officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Reminiscing will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Ellen requested that memorial contributions be made to Holmes County Hospice, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg 44654 or the Holmes County Home, 7260 State Route 83, Holmesville 44633.
She was born March 11, 1919 in Cardiff, South Wales, and was the daughter of James and Annie (McKnight) Stenhouse. She married H. Dwight Doty in 1938 and he died in 1961. She later married Merrill Lobaugh in 1965 and he died in 1972. In 1974 she married Jack Harmony and he preceded her in death in 1989.
She is survived by three sons, Homer Doty, David Doty and John Harmony and their respective families, including eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ada Yoder and Joyce Orr.

Alice Starling
WOOSTER -- Alice Jean Starling, 77, formerly of 1560 Beall Ave., Wooster and Upper Sandusky, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 9, 2001, at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Ben Gregory officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service.
Friends may call Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster.

She was born Sept. 24, 1923 near Upper Sandusky, to Foster and Mabel (Southward) Campbell and married Walter Kenneth Starling. He died in 1966.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth of Wooster and Gary of Port Charlotte, Fla.; four grandchildren and three sisters, Bonnie Young, Mrs. Ralph (Patricia) Lomax and Joann Miller, all of Mansfield.

Thomas Burkey
AKRON -- Thomas M. "Tom" Burkey, 62, of Akron and formerly of Orrville, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Akron City Hospital, Akron.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville with the Rev. Randy Gehres officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville.
Friends may call one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 6, 1938 in Orrville, to Loren and Loretta (Wingerter) Burkey and married Mary Willis on May 9, 1969. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Loren Burkey of Toledo, Michael Burkey of Akron, Drew Foster of Orlando, Fla. and Todd Foster of Orrville; a daughter, Virginia (Tim) Maher of Akron; four grandchildren; his mother, Loretta Patrosky of Orrville; two sisters, Sharon (Nevin) Grosjean of Orrville and Anita (Jay) Shidler of Wooster and a brother, John (Barbara) Burkey of Akron.

Rev. Francis Gasbarre
WOOSTER -- The Rev. Monsignor Francis Edward Gasbarre, 85, 1715 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at the Cleveland Clinic, after several months of declining health. He was Pastor Emeritus, Saint Mary Parish, Bedford Heights.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Wooster, with Auxiliary Bishop A. James Quinn as the principal celebrant and Father Ernest C. Hepner as the Homilist. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Wooster.
Wake will take place at St. Mary Church, Wooster, where the body will be received and Vespers sung Friday at 3 p.m. The wake will continue until 9 p.m.
McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Mary School, P.O. Box 109, Wooster 44691.
He was born July 1, 1915 in Wooster, to Antonio and Beatrice (Santangelo) Gasbarre.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Virginia) DelPropost and Mrs. Donald (Florence) Keltz, both of Wooster and brothers, Raymond Gasbarre, Benjamin Gasbarre and Joseph Gasbarre, all of Wooster and Fred Santangelo of California.

Frank Funk
DOYLESTOWN -- Frank S. Funk,75, of Doylestown died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father David McCarthy, celebrant. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Friends may call (today) Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown. Rosary will be Friday at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made toAmerican Cancer Society in care of Wooster Clinic, 1740 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Barberton to Stanley and Tilley (Tloska) Funk and married Rose Marie Petit on Aug. 6, 1949. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Rose Marie, of 51 years, he is survived by sons, Frank (Barb) of Ravenna, Joe (Barb), Tom (Marilyn), Bob, Mike (Karen) and a daughter, Susan (Harry) Hunter all of Doylestown; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve Zvosec of Lorain, Helen (Bernie) Pramik of Barberton and many nieces and nephews.

Esther Keener
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Esther R. Keener, 88, 543 Maytown Road, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at her residence.
She was the mother of Eugene N. (Ravae) Keener of Smithville and Philip N. (Bonnie) Keener of Millersburg.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, 300 S. Spruce St., Elizabethtown, Pa. Burial will be at Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Frank S. Miller Funeral Home, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, Pa., is handling arrangements.
She was born in Rapho Township, Pa., to Amos B. and Annie R. (Reist) Nissley and married Edwin L. Keener. He died in 1987.
Other survivors include children, Kenneth N. (Florence) Keener of Elizabethtown, Pa., J. David (Mary) Keener of Eugene, Ore., Evelyn N. Keener of Goosebay, Labrador, Canada, Judy N. (Donald) Bomberger of Harrisonburg, Va., and Joanne N. (Joseph) Miller of Elmira, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence and Arthur Nissley, both of Lititz, Pa.; and a sister, Ruth N. (Jonas) Miller of Samson, Ala.

Frederick Schmidt
RADNOR -- Frederick F. Schmidt, 88, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Delaware. Burial will be in Barberton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Burn Institute, Cincinnati Unit, 202 Goodman St., Cincinnati 45219.

Fred is survived by son, Fritz Schmidt of Madison, Ala.; two grandchildren, Franz Schmidt of Wooster and K.C. Schmidt of Los Angeles; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel Robert Schmidt of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Jeanne Getz of Mansfield and dear friends and caretaker, Wanda (Yogi) Compton and Cheryl (Butch) Call.

Elmina Kuhns
MILLERSBURG -- Elmina M. Kuhns, 20, 4921 County Road 19, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, after a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Henry A. Nisley officiating. Burial will be at Erb Cemetery in Clark Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence.
Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements.
She was born June 19, 1980, in Millersburg to Martin E. and Susie (Yoder) Kuhns.
Surviving in addition to her parents with whom she resided, are four brothers, Leroy M. Kuhns, Willis M. Kuhns, Andrew M. Kuhns and Eli M. Kuhns, all of the home, a sister, Betty Sue Kuhns, of the home and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli M. Kuhns of Millersburg and Fannie Yoder of Baltic.

Hilda Chapman
MEDINA -- Hilda R. Chapman, 84, of Medina and formerly of Lodi, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at Medina General Hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. Pastor Stephen McLaughlin of Lodi will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Visitation will be tonight (Friday) from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lodi Fire & Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 212, Lodi 44254, or Lodi First Congregational Church, 114 Church St., Lodi 44254.
She was born in Chatham on June 18, 1916, to Grover and Faye (Frank) Rumbaugh and married Keith Chapman. He died in 1989.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry (Judy) Chapman of Lodi and James (Pat) Chapman of Medina; five grandchildren, Tracy Stoll, Terri, Kristin, Laura and Erin Chapman and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Stoll.
