Donald Saurer
ORRVILLE -- Donald M. Saurer, 64, 322 Park St., who was an avid fisherman, was called home to be with the master fisherman, our Lord Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001.
He was born in Orrville on Nov. 25, 1936, the son of Merle and Matilda (Riggenbach) Saurer and married Pat Stocker on Sept. 19, 1956 in Orrville. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Pat, he is survived by daughters, Beverlee (Scot) Holderman of McDonough, Ga., Valerie (Mark) Holderman of Jonesboro, Ga., Audrie Saurer and Mary (Ken) Legan of Orrville; grandchildren, Joshua, Kendra, Corey, Nicole, Krista and Michael Holderman, Aarica and Alyssa Saurer and Jarod Legan; brother, Richard "Dick" Saurer and sisters, Virginia (Merle) Moser and Jean Ann (Dennis) Adcock, all of Orrville.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville, with the Rev. Randall Gehres officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. or one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. A Masonic memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691 or to the Orrville Fire Department, P.O. Box 144, Orrville 44667 with contributions to be used for the purchase of a Thermal Imaging System for the department.

Leo Peters
LODI -- Leo W. Peters, 71, of Lodi, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his home after a period of declining health.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Jesus, Our Teacher Catholic Church in Lodi, with Father Edward Weist officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 9608 Norwalk Road, Litchfield 44253.
He was born May 31, 1929, in Doylestown to Carl and Effa (Whitman) Peters and married Mary Jo Trares in 1953. She survives.
Other survivors include children Susan (Pat) Condon of Irvine, Calif., Karen (Brian) Smith of Whittier, Calif., Janet (George) Kungl of Lodi, Helen (John) O'Meara of Worthington, Jackie (Jeff) Cook of Sullivan and Carl (Rose) Peters of Ashland; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Bob (Pat) Peters of Kendall Park, N.J.

Glen Brenner
WOOSTER -- Glen E. Brenner, 87, 4112 Nellie Circle, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster with the Rev. David Stout officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Those who wish may make contributions to American Cancer Society, Wayne County Branch, 1740 Cleveland Road, Wooster, or to Central Christian Church, 407 N. Market St., Wooster 44691.
He was born June 12, 1913, in Massillon to Raymond and Susie (Miller) Brenner and married Laurita Kope on Dec. 2, 1934. She survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Sue Ann (Robert) Landis of Palm City, Fla., and Judith (Roy) Dugan of Olmsted Falls.

Irene Widder
SUGARCREEK -- Irene Rinaldi Widder, 72, 1967 Prysi Road, NW, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Hennis Care Center in Dover after an extended illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek with the Rev. Carlan Helgeson officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugarcreek.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 5-8 at Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek or one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek or the American Cancer Society.
She was born Nov. 7, 1928, in Canton to Nick and Violet (Keller) Rinaldi and married Cleone Widder on May 25, 1952. He survives.
Other survivors include children Donna Widder of Clermont, Fla., Mark Widder of Atlanta, Fla., Barry (Dee) Widder of Columbus and Jim (Tonya) Widder of Sugarcreek; four granddaughters; two step-grandsons; a step-great-grandson; and brothers, Dan (Rose) Rinaldi and John (Lucy) Rinaldi, both of Canton.

James Hickok
WILLOUGHBY -- James R. Hickok, 75, of Willoughby, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Manor Health Care in Cleveland.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
There will be no calling hours. Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville is handling arrangements.
He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Curwensville, Pa., to William J. and Emily June (Ross) Hickok and married Dorothy Marie Brenneman in 1950. She was formerly of Orrville and died June 8, 1974.
Surviving are children James William Hickok Jr. of Cleveland, Jeffrey R. Hickok of Eastlake, Karen L. Halsey of Wickliffe and Jennifer A. Wilmot of Avon Lake; six grandchildren; a brother, Robert J. Hickok of Florissant, Mo.; and a sister, Constance M. Burd of Russell, Pa.

James Tanner
CRESTON -- James Hunter Tanner, 71, 122 Hay St., died Sunday evening, Jan. 14, 2001, at his home after a short illness.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mud Fork Union Church in Nebo, W.Va., where friends may call two hours prior to the services. The Rev. Darius Arnold will officiate. Burial will be at Coen Cemetery near Nebo.
Local calling hours will be Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tri-County Hospice, 102 Main St., No. 304, Wadsworth 44681.
He was born March 23, 1929, in Stinson, W.Va., to Josh and Eliza Jane (Miller) Tanner and married Mary Lee McCune on Sept. 19, 1948. She died Aug. 29, 1987.
Surviving are children, Randy (Jenivine) Tanner of Sterling, Judy (David) Morgan of Rittman and John (Peggy) Tanner of Creston; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Tanner and Mary Drake, both of Mud Fork, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

Edward Spade
BREWSTER -- Edward J. Spade, 66, 456 1st St., W., died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his home.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. O.J. Thompson officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born July 3, 1934, in Jeromesville, to John and Emma (Markel) Spade and married Charlotte Catron on Nov. 25, 1972. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Edgar Spade and Betty Spade, both of Mansfield, Lowrene (Richard) Brinker and Alice (Cecil) Rhodes, both of Wooster, Sharon Nimmo of Wyoming, Charles (Franny) Nimmo of Montana, and Wayne (Vernee) Nimmo of Idaho; numerous grandchildren; and a sister, Fern (Harvey) James of Plymouth.

Josephine Imhoff
WADSWORTH -- Josephine E. Imhoff, 86, of Wadsworth, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at her home.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Kurt Landerholm officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
There will be no calling hours.
She was born June 2, 1914, in Ashland, to Claire W. and Iola R. (Taylor) Johnson and married Herbert M. "Dutch" Imhoff. He died in 1982.
There are no immediate survivors.

Lucille Poppovich
AKRON -- Lucille Ann (Simile) DeGeorge Poppovich, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Akron General Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.
She was the mother of Joanne Marie (Bruce) Miller of Shreve and B. Louis (Denise) Poppovich of North Lawrence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon, with the Rev. Edward Gretchko serving as celebrant. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Massillon.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Heitger Funeral Service, Massillon Chapel, 639 First St., NE, where a scriptural service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 4916 Hills & Dales Road, NW, Canton 44708; or St. Mary's Catholic Church, 206 Cherry Road, NE, Massillon 44646.
She was born May 13, 1915, to Donato and Pasquelina (Santangelo) Simile and married Boshko P. Poppovich. He died in 1968.
Other survivors include another daughter, Marilyn E. (Ted) Schartiger of Massillon; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Curie
ORRVILLE -- Mary E. Curie, 93, died Monday evening, Jan. 15, 2001, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, where she had resided for the past nine years.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren near Smithville, with the Rev. Delbert Kettering officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691; or to East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 7207 Chippewa Road, Orrville 44667.
Mary Elizabeth Benglesdorf was born Nov. 10, 1907, in Orrville, to Charles and Nancy (Huntsberger) Benglesdorf and married Frederick William Curie in August 1932. He died Jan. 2, 1973.
Surviving are sons, Donald F. (Emily) Curie and twins, David B. (Jane) Curie and John F. Curie, all of Orrville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald Marken
MILLERSBURG -- Donald McKinley Marken, 80, 149 E. Jones St., went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Sunset View Nursing Home in Millersburg, after a long illness.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Roger Pittman officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sterling.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Fund at East Sunbury Baptist Church, Beallsville 43716.
He was born June 30, 1920, in Akron, to Lawrence McKinley and Rena (Fulton) Marken and married Mabel Hubacher on Oct. 25, 1941. She survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Beverly (Robert) McKinney of Belpre, and Carol (Carl) Lewis of Chesterhill; granddaughters, Fawna (John) Crowly and son, Nathan, of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Melissa (Frank) Sansone and children, Josiah and Christina of Monroeville, N.J.; brothers, Kenneth (Evelyn) Marken of Richmond, Va., and Howard (Yoko) Marken of Kendallville, Ind.; and sisters, Norma (Leroy) Freidstad of Loudonville, Kathleen (Robert) Zehner and Joyce (Charles) Sweitzer, both of Mansfield.

Wilford Farver
BEACH CITY -- Wilford G. Farver, 87, of Beach City, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at his residence after a 1-month illness.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Beach City, with the Rev. Darla Ann Kratzer officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Winesburg.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Lantzer Funeral Home in Beach City.
He was born in Holmes County to Warner E. and Nellie (Lowe) Farver.
Surviving are children, Penny Beechy of Pontiac, Mich., Janette (Jeffrey) Weisgarber and Ronald C. Farver, both of Beach City; two granddaughters; and a brother, Earl Farver of St. Petersburg, Fla.
His wife, Ruth E. Farver, died Sept. 16, 1990.

Leroy Easterday
LAKE FORK -- Leroy Easterday, 88, 78 Ashland County Road 2160, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at his home after a brief illness.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Craig Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Lake Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jeromesville Fire Department/EMS, Jeromesville 44840.
He was born July 10, 1912, in Lake Fork, to Lewis C. and Nettie (Holderbaum) Easterday and married Mildred E. Metcalf on Sept. 19, 1944 in Jeromesville. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Dale (Margaret) Easterday, Mary Alice Easterday and Linda (Gene) Mong, all of Jeromesville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mary Andreas
SUGARCREEK -- Mary E. Andreas, 83, 576 Ragersville Road, SW, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at her home.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Ragersville, with the Rev. Welton Stein officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ in Ragersville.
She was born March 19, 1917, near Sugarcreek, Holmes County, to Albert and Edna (Wyss) Funk and married Paul M. Andreas. He died Nov. 28, 1996.
Surviving are children, Karen (Dr. Michael) Rohovsky of Boston, Mass., Dan (Lois) Andreas of Sugarcreek, Dave (Becky) Andreas of Pickerington and Bill (Wilma) Andreas of Baltic; seven grandchildren; a sister, Pauline (Frank) Simmons of Venice, Fla.; and brothers, Raymond Funk and Walter (Pauline) Funk, both of Newcomerstown.

Gerard Nault
WOOSTER -- Gerard H. "Jerry" Nault, 88, formerly of Memory Lane, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Brenn-Field Nursing Home in Orrville.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.
Those who wish may make contributions to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 266, Wooster 44691.
He was born May 17, 1912, in Lowell, Mass., to Joseph Henry and Marie (Bettencourt) Nault.
Surviving are children, Lowell (Loretta "Letty") Nault of Wooster and Marilyn Howell of Brookline, Mass.; grandchildren, Brian Nault of Onley, Va., Julie Montoya of Bend, Ore., and Mara Howell of Brookline, Mass.; and a great-granddaughter, Nicolette Nault.
His wife, Helen Lee Nault, died in 1982. They were married in June 1939.

Margaret Gossard
NORTH LAWRENCE -- Margaret L. Gossard, 83, of North Lawrence, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton.
Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton, with the Rev. Dick Wolf officiating.
Friends may call three hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Oct. 28, 1917, in Akron, to Marcus and Ina (Bower) Guthrie.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Gossard, whom she married Oct. 14, 1950; children, Larry (Barbara) Patterson and Roger (Shelby) Patterson, both of Massillon, Danielle Hoffman of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Chuck (Kim) Gossard of North Lawrence; and nine grandchildren.

Frances Ajtaji
WOOSTER -- Frances L. Ajtaji, 79, 1684 Mechanicsburg Road, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with Pastor Timothy A. Heinrich officiating. Burial will be at Blachleyville Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1921, in Roaring Springs, Pa., to Roy and Pearl (Kauffman) Grabill and married Joseph Ajtaji. He died in 1992.
Surviving are children, Joseph D. Ajtaji of Loudonville, Robert A. Ajtaji of Herndon, Va., Carl E. Ajtaji of Wooster, Barbara J. Knoll of Hoxie, Kan., and Frances (Ned) Jenkins of Perrysville; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Paul Grabill of Martinsburg, Pa., Roy Grabill of Shreve, Bob Grabill of Port Matilda, Pa., and Dan Grabill of Dayton.

Nina DuPlaga
MEDINA -- Nina Marie DuPlaga, 82, a resident of Evergreen Care Center in Medina for many years, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina, with Father Stephen Kaminski officiating. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Medina.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1900 W. Market St., Akron 44313; or to Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court St., Medina 44256.
She was born Dec. 19, 1918, in Brunswick, to Leland and Lillian (Richardson) Tibbits and married Frank DuPlaga. He died in 1974.
Surviving are children, Frances (Ralph) Anderson and Kathy (Phil) Carpenter, both of Lodi, Judy (Roger) Friedrich and Michael (Barb) DuPlaga, both of Medina and Roy (Debra) DuPlaga of Wooster; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Luella (Willard) Leatherman of Medina.

Anthony Eberly
CLAYPOOL, Ind. -- Anthony Eberly, 16, 8088 S. Beaver Dam Road, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 17, 2001, from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.
He was the grandson of Lloyd and Mary Eberly of Orrville.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m. at King Memorial Home in Mentone, Ind., followed by services at 10:15 a.m. at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church in Goshen, Ind. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery.
Friends may call today (Friday) from 2-4 and 6-9 at King Memorial Home in Mentone, Ind.
He was born Nov. 20, 1984 in Marshall County, Ind.
Other survivors include his parents, Mark and Sandra (Miller) Eberly; brothers, Alfred and Nelson and sisters, Audrey, Marcella, Janita, Delores and Jessica, all of the home; maternal grandparents, Orie and Anna Miller of Goshen, Ind.; and maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Martin of Indiana.
His father, Elmer Eberly, died in 1984.
