Larry Wayne
WOOSTER -- Larry K. Wayne, 62 of Wooster, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at noon at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Revs. Roger and Ann Marie Boggess officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Those who wish may make contributions to McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster 44691, to help defray funeral expenses.
He was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Charleston, W.Va., to Earl H. and Orvie Falls Wayne and was married to Patricia (Connelly) Wayne for 37 years. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Earl Wayne of Wooster; adopted children, Steve De Mastus of Wooster and Melissa Hopkins of Clifton, Colo.; stepdaughters, Patricia Ann Wayne, Anna Marie Wayne and Shelly Jane Wayne, all of Gainesville, Fla.; brothers, Jerry and Lloyd Wayne, both of West Virginia, and Frankie Wayne of Morefield, W.Va.; and sisters, Cricket Wayne of Arnoldsburg, W.Va., and Ann Wayne of Liverpool, W.Va.

Walter Brillhart
ORRVILLE -- Walter E. Brillhart, 87, 13758 Back Massillon Road, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville, after a long period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church near Marshallville, with Pastor Tom Fox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, or two hours prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church Building Fund, 7404 Coal Bank Road, Marshallville 44645.
Walter was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Orrville to Ora H. and Mary (Rehm) Brillhart and married Ellen M. Getchell of Akron on April 15, 1938 in Marshallville. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Garry Brillhart of Orrville, daughters, Mary Ann (Jerry) Berg of Dalton and Karen (John) Gordon of Smithville, a daughter-in-law, Mary Rawdon of Marshallville; grandchildren, Jack Brillhart, Josette (Eric) Poland and Kristin Brillhart of Doylestown, Lisa (Brian) Gwin, Michael (Trish) Berg and Jennifer (Mark) Tumney of Dalton, Mary Beth (Chad) Day of Delaware, Kathy (Michael) Thut and Greg Gordon of Smithville, Molly (Bob) Edgell of Wooster, Sally Brillhart of Marshallville, Zach (Brianna) Brillhart of New Philadelphia and Jessica Brillhart of Orrville; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Harrison, Garrett and Bennet Gwin, Hannah, Sydney and Colin Berg, Katelyn, Chase, Brock and Lauryn Thut, Bailey, Brandon and Kelsey Edgell, Damian Brillhart, Zoey and Mackenzie Jordan and Jacob, Grace and Genesis Brillhart; a sister, Gail Weygandt of Canal Fulton; and a sister-in-law, Irene Brillhart of Musselshell, Mont.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Brillhart in 1997, a grandson, Shane Brillhart in 1997, a brother, Ross Brillhart, and sisters, Iva Forrer, Elta Calame and Mable Hilty.

Elias Lewis Jr.
WOOSTER -- Elias Lewis Jr., 91, of Wooster, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at West View Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Pittsburg, with the Rev. James Fravel officiating. Burial will be at New Pittsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.
Those who wish may make contributions to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9451 Ashland Road, Wooster; or to People to People Ministries, 454 E. Bowman St., Wooster 44691.
He was born Sept. 29, 1910, in Pittsburgh to Elias and Ethel (Thomas) Lewis Sr. and married Helen H. Carnes on May 15, 1937. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Pamela (Donald) Drum of Reynoldsburg, Patricia (Ferrell) Swinehart of Wooster and William (Darla) Lewis of Stow; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ina Hershberger
MILLERSBURG -- Ina E. Hershberger, infant daughter of Ervin and Edna A. (Hershberger) Hershberger, 8143 Township Road 652, died at birth early Thursday morning, Sept. 26, 2002, at the home.
Graveside services were held Thursday at Hershberger Cemetery, Saltcreek Township, Holmes County, with Bishop Raymond Hershberger officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.
Other survivors include grandparents, Ervin and Susie Ann Hershberger of Millersburg and Atlee and Anna Hershberger of Fredericksburg; great-grandparents, Susie Miller of Sugarcreek, Rebecca Swartzentruber of Peoli and Sam and Susie Hershberger of Apple Creek.
An infant brother died previously.

Ralph Dellafave
ORRVILLE -- Ralph J. Dellafave, 75, 339 Washington Blvd., died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, Orrville.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville, with Father Ronald J. Turek officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, where graveside military rites will be held.
Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1926, in Wooster to Joseph and Julia (DeFelice) Dellafave and married Doris Schaller on July 6, 1948. She died March 6, 2002.
Surviving are children, Steven (Connie) Dellafave of Deer Park, Texas, Ronald (Heather) Dellafave of Smithville and Cheryl (Mike) Guster of Orrville; seven grandchildren; a brother, Sam Dellafave of Wooster; and sisters, Rose Tomassetti, Antoinette "Tony" (Wilbur) Braden and Filomena Giroux, all of Wooster and Louise "Nuna" Medve of Orrville.

Henry Knippenberg
ORRVILLE -- Henry F. Knippenberg, 63, of Orrville, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, from injuries sustained in a tractor-trailer accident.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home in Wadsworth, with the Rev. Les Barker officiating.
Friends may call today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral home.
He was born in Hiram.
Surviving are his wife, Debra F. (Milici) Lane Knippenberg; sons, Mike Knippenberg of Loudonville, Christopher Knippenberg of Norton, Richard Knippenberg of Wadsworth and Steven Knippenberg of Orrville; 11 grandchildren; stepchildren, Melissa Williams of Akron and Erik Lane of Wooster; his mother, Jessie (Parker) Knippenberg and a sister, Wanda Moreno, both of Elkhart, Ind.
His father, Henry T. Knippenberg, died previously.

Dorothy Malloy
COLUMBUS -- Dorothy Josephine Malloy, 80, died Sept. 5, 2002, at Arlington Court Nursing Center in Columbus. She was formerly of Wooster.
Services were held at First Community Church in Columbus. Burial of the cremains will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
The family requests that contributions be made to Hospice in her memory.
She was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Canton to Joseph and Mary Frankovich.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Lou Malloy Yencha and her husband, James Mark of Ravenswood, W.Va.; stepdaughters, Lee Ellen Malloy Pitman and her husband, John Douglas of Franklin, Tenn., and Sue Ellen Malloy LaRue and her husband, Douglas of Canton; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Yolanda Nemeth of Pinnellas Park, Fla.; and seven nieces and seven nephews.

Elmer Miller
FREDERICKSBURG -- Elmer D. Miller, 71, 10384 Mount Hope Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in Union City, Pa., while visiting in the area.
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Roy Miller officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery, Saltcreek Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.
He was born April 23, 1931, in LaGrange County, Ind., to David M. and Saloma M. (Mast) Miller and married Erma A. Schlabach on Nov. 25, 1952. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Anna (Andy J.) Miller of Millersburg, Lydiann (Jacob L.) Schlabach of Dundee and Alvin E. (Erma) Miller of the home; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred (Dora) Miller of Apple Creek, Levi (Anna) Miller and Jonas (Verna) Miller, both of Millersburg and Mike (Edna) Miller of Mount Hope; and sisters, Anna (Atlee L.) Swartzentruber, Ella Troyer, Esther (Melvin S.) Hershberger and Lydiann (Raymond A.) Yoder, all of Fredericksburg, Susie (John E.) Miller of Morley, Mich., and Effie (Jacob D.) Miller of Apple Creek.

Roberta Simons
RITTMAN -- Roberta E. Simons, 89, of Rittman, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.
Services will be held in New Bern, N.C., with burial at New Bern National Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rittman Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 275 E. Sunset Drive, Rittman 44270.
She was born Dec. 30, 1912, in New Bern, N.C., to Jesse F. and Roberta M. (Hawkins) Banks and married Alonzo R. Simons Sr. He died June 22, 1966.
Surviving are children, Dorothy (Gary) Geitgey of Rittman, Robert (Carol) Simons of Sterling and Richard (Linda) Simons of New Bern, N.C.; eight grandchildren; brothers, James F. Banks of Palmetto, Fla., and William Banks of Virginia Beach, Va.; and sisters, Marguerite Tilgman of New Bern, N.C., and Martha Miller of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Ben Root
ASHLAND -- Ben G. Root, 57, 765 King Ridge Drive, died Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 25, 2002, at Cleveland Clinic, after an extended illness.
In accordance to Ben's wishes, there will be no services or visitation observed.
The family requests contributions be made to Green-Perrysville Fire Department, in care of Glenn Atkinson, 162 W. Second St., Perrysville 44864.
Arrangements are being handled by Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville.
He was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Ashland to Willis Mike and Evelyn Marie (Krebs) Root.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen (Shambaugh) Root, whom he married June 10, 1977; stepsons, Douglas (Cathy) Smart and Dennis (Beth) Smart, both of Ashland; six grandchildren; his mother, Evelyn Root of Perrysville; and sisters, Marjorie Root and Janet (John) Bricker, both of Perrysville.
His father, Willis Mike Root, died previously.

Delbert Smith
ASHLAND -- Delbert W. "Pete" Smith, 74, of Ashland, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at his residence.
He was the father of Teara Buren of West Salem.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Methodist Church, 127 Park Place, Wellington, with the Rev. William E. Buckeye officiating. Burial will be at Southview Cemetery in Sullivan.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Methodist Church, 127 Park Place, Wellington 44090.
He was born Sept. 24, 1928, in Sullivan to Harry and Dorothy (Johnson) Smith and was married to Betty (Bronson) Smith for 33 years. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Trudy Rogers of Seymour, Tenn., Tonya Waite, Bonnie Jones, Susanne Rollins, Leslie Simonson and Laura Jones Butti, all of Wellington, Debby Riffle of Grafton, Angelia Daves of Greenwood, Miss., David Jones of Ashland, John Jones of Shelby and Philip Jones of Culpeper, Va.; 28 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Patrick
COLUMBUS -- Evelyn C. Patrick, 86, of Columbus, formerly of Wayne County, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Jack Dearth officiating.
There will be no calling hours. North-Dilley Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling arrangements.
The family requests contributions be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, 205 N. Mulberry St., Mount Vernon 43050.
She was born July 1, 1916, in Freeport, Pa., to Willard M. and Nancy M. (Foster) Lockard and married the Rev. Howard H. Patrick on May 28, 1943. He died in 2000.
Surviving are children, Larry D. (Jenneil) Patrick of Seffner, Fla., Dean R. (Joanne) Patrick of Longwood, Fla., and Janet P. (Thomas) Goodwin of Hilliard; five grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie (Harry) Snyder of Tallassee, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Amara Yoder
SUGARCREEK -- Amara Rose Yoder, 1-day old daughter of Marvin and Brenda (Miller) Yoder, 10392 Gerber Valley Road, NW, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Private graveside services will be today (Thursday) at Christian Life Mennonite Church Cemetery in Beach City. Pastor Dan Mast will officiate.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are sisters, Kammi Raquele and her twin, Kira Brooke, both of the home; grandparents, David and Mary Ann Miller Jr. of Millersburg and Fannie Yoder of Sugarcreek; and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Weaver of Holmesville.

Daniel Henry
TIJUANA, Mexico -- Daniel Lee Henry, 61, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico, after a short battle with cancer.
He was an account representative with Wayne-Dalton Corp.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Anna; children, Susan (Clark) Watson, Rob (Susan) Henry, Tim (Kelly) Rothgeb and Connie (Ron) Farabaugh; grandchildren, Ryan, Benjamin, Jacob, Owen, Foster, Milam, Faith, Olivia, Alex and Ashton; a sister, L'Jean (Tim) Floyd; his first wife, Barbara (Bill) Rothgeb; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002. The Rev. Richard Ellsworth will officiate. Interment will be at Greenhill Cemetery, Johnstown, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oasis of Hope Hospital, Cancer Aid & Research Fund, P.O. Box 37099, Phoenix, Ariz. 85069, in his memory.

Andrew Yoder
MILLERSBURG -- Andrew Jay Yoder, 19, 7412 Township Road 668, died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 25, 2002, in the emergency room at Union Hospital in Dover, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Trail Bottom Road, Wayne Township, Tuscarawas County.
Services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Noah Troyer officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.
He was born March 7, 1983, in Millersburg to Wes and Niva (Miller) Yoder.
Surviving are his parents of the home; brothers, Duane, Ian, Doran and Mark, and a sister, Leanna, all of the home; grandparents, Paul and Anna Miller of Dundee and Fannie Yoder of the home.
