Marion Gerber
GOSHEN, Ind. -- Marion E. Gerber, 88, 1225 Greencroft Drive and formerly of Orrville, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at The Meetinghouse at Greencroft in Goshen with the Rev. Firman Gingerich of College Mennonite Church and Margaret Sawatsky, chaplain at Greencroft, officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call two hours before services.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home of Goshen is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen College Music Department.
She was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Garrett County, Maryland, to Conrad and Mary (Gingerich) Wisseman. She married Edward Gerber in Grantsville, Md. on June 19, 1937. He died Oct. 13, 1986.
Survivng are six children; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Charles Holdren
COLUMBUS -- Charles L. "Buzz" Holdren, 76, of Columbus, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, with Chaplain Paul Fink officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was born April 5, 1926, in Union Furnace to John and Gladys (Hall) Holdren. He married Nellie Shipman on March 30, 1967, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Donald and Clifford Holdren; stepchildren, Irma and Charles Smith, Norma and Tommy Brown and Barbara Smith, all of Columbus; sisters Dorothy (Robert) Jones of Marshallville, Alice P. Kelper and Sue Scott of Orrville and Mary Jones of Logan; brothers Dale (Marilyn) Holdren and Jim (Helen) Holdren, all of Logan, Joe of Columbus, and Bob, Willard and David.

David Wagner
WOOSTER -- David Lee Wagner, 64, 905 Portage Road, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at his home.
Services will be Friday at noon at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Ward officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to time of services.
Those who wish may contribute to McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home to help defray expenses.
He was born Nov. 13, 1937, in New Bethlehem, Pa., to David and Helen (Crusan) Wagner.
Surviving are children, Dorinda Hoff of Wooster and Kenneth Wagner of Warsaw; three grandchildren; his mother of Pennsylvania; a brother, Larry, of California, and a sister, Linda Koletta of New Jersey.

Salvadore Polito
MILLERSBURG -- Salvadore Samuel Polito, 85, of Millersburg, and formerly of Cohasset, Mass., where he made his home until 1991, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 20, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home with the Revs. Thomas White and Herman Angle officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holmes County, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg 44654.
He was born July 1, 1917, in Cohasset, Mass., to William and Lucile (Couco) Polito. On Nov. 22, 1940, he married Nadine Bowker and she died previously. He later married Irene J. Moore on Oct. 17, 1982, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Jeanie Nicholson of Maine and Luciea Anderson of Massachusetts; stepdaughters and their spouses, Phyllis Bird and Barbara and Leroy Davis, all of Millersburg, Dottie and David Begley of Apple Creek, and Cathy and Gene Rockwell of West Salem; four grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great grandchild; sisters, Theresa Pettograsso, Barbara Harris and Angelena Luker, all of Massachusetts, Antoenette King of California and Carmilla Scott of Georgia; brothers, Joseph Polito of Wooster and William Polito of Massachusetts.

Lester Yoder
BALTIC -- Lester W. Yoder, 74, of Baltic and formerly of Sugarcreek, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Longenecker Mennonite Church in Winesburg with Pastor Glenn Coblentz officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 6-8 and Thursday two hours prior to services at the church.
Butler-Varns Funeral Home, Sugarcreek, is handling arrangements.
He was born Sept. 10, 1927, in LaGrange, Ind. to William Yoder and Emma (Mullet) Yoder Miller.
He married Minerva (Mullet) Yoder on Jan. 4, 1949. She died April 17, 1994. He married Nettie (Miller) Yoder on Dec. 16, 1996, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Robert Ray Yoder of Canton and Willis Edward (Susie) Yoder of Sugarcreek; daughters, Mrs. Owen (Louella Kay) Troyer of Holmesville and Mrs. Bruce (Kathy) Walker of New Philadelphia; brothers, Herman Yoder and Larry (Sara Ann) Yoder, both of Sugarcreek, Joe (Janet) Yoder of Millersburg and Bill Jr. (Mary) Yoder of Berlin; sister, Mrs. Roy L. (Fannie) Miller of Dundee; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ruth Benson
SEVILLE -- Ruth A. Benson, 95, of Royalcrest Drive, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Medina General Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman where friends may call one hour before services. Pastor Robert Moeller will officiate with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Akron.
She was born Jan. 29, 1907, in Akron, to Fred and Mary (Weth) VonGunten. She lived most of her life in Akron, living in Rittman from 1981-1986 and in Seville since 1986.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Niemi of Cordova, Alaska; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Carl, died in 1974.

Jay Buchwalter
DALTON -- Jay L. Buchwalter, 85, 640-B Henry St., died at his residence on Monday, Aug. 19, 2002.
Services will be held at Pleasant View Mennonite Church on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Miller officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. or one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 14795 Wooster St. N.W., North Lawrence, Ohio 44666.
Jay was born in Dalton on Jan. 13, 1917, the son of Harry and Charlotte (Forrer) Buchwalter and was united in marriage to Agnes Lehman on Dec. 25, 1938 in Orrville. She died Jan. 15, 1992.
He is survived by a son, Larry J. (Carol) Buchwalter of Orrville and a daughter, Carol A. (Bobby) Dalton of Science Hill, Ky.; grandchildren, James G. Buchwalter, Mark R. (Sue) Buchwalter and Paula (Douglas) Steiner of Orrville, Philip (Amber) Buchwalter of Dalton and Stephen and Krystal Dalton of Science Hill, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Katelynn and Megan Buchwalter; brother, Alvin Buchwalter of Dalton and sisters, Doris Thompson of Dalton and Wilma (James) Gibson of Massillon.

William Franks
NORTH CANTON -- William D. "Bill" Franks, 45, was killed instantly as a passenger in an accident Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, near Grand Junction, Colo., where he was vacationing with family and friends.
Karlos Funeral Home of North Canton will be in charge of services, to be held later.
He was born Aug. 12, 1956, to Charles and Jacquelyn Franks of Dover. They survive.
Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Debbie (Walter) Franks. Also surviving are a son, Christopher and daughter, Angela, both of the home; brothers, Robert of Hawaii and James of Alliance and sister, Mary Ann Forchione of Canton; grandmother Beatrice Franks of Uhrichsville; and numerous cousins in the Wooster and Doylestown areas.

Robert Napier
RITTMAN -- Robert Napier, 64, of 10007 Mennonite Road, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rittman Community Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Castle officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman, and one hour before services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rittman Community Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 16, Rittman, OH 44270.

Robert Napier
RITTMAN -- Robert Napier, 64, of 10007 Mennonite Road, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rittman Community Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Castle officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman, and one hour before services at the church.

J. Don Carson
WOOSTER -- J. Don Carson, 80, 2006 Fisher Drive, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 17, 2002, at his home.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Central Christian Church with the Revs. Kevin Phipps and David Stout officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, 407 N. Market St., Wooster; Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster or to Wayne County Kidney Center, 387 W. Milltown Road, Wooster.
He was born in Apple Creek on Oct. 1, 1921, to John Parker and Mabel Woodward Carson and retired as claims manager for Western Reserve Insurance Co. for 40 years.
Surviving are Mary Jane Bupp Carson, whom he marred Dec. 28, 1947; children, Judy Murray of Arizona and Sharon Howard of Wooster; a grandson raised as a son, J. Chris Murray of Kettering; brother, Arden and Judy Carson of Wooster and nieces and nephews.
Sisters, Maxine Carson and Dorothy Hook, died previously.

Philip Wagner
DOYLESTOWN -- Philip F. Wagner, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Smithville-Western Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father David McCarthy officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown where a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Izaak Walton League of America, Wooster Chapter.
He was born Sept. 28, 1911, in Akron to Philip G. and Anna (Schaffer) Wagner and married Betty Rottmayer on Feb. 12, 1942.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; children, Jim (Patricia) Wagner of Honolulu, Hawaii, Patricia (Clyde) Bailey of New Philadelphia, Richard Wagner, William (Laura) Wagner and Michael Wagner, all of Doylestown; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and a brother, Paul Wagner of Wadsworth.
A son, Philip Wagner, a daughter, Carol Shoup, a sister, Coline Delagrange and brother, Cletus Wagner died previously.

Stella Hohne
RITTMAN -- Stella B. Hohne, 84, of Rittman and formerly of Chagrin Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002.
She was the mother of the late Elmer Tyler and Paul Hohne; Paul A. (Jane) of Burlington, Wash. and Carolyn Sue Miller (Gary) of Rittman; loving grandmother of Matthew, Sarah, Drew, Victor and Scott Hohne and Michael Miller; and great-grandmother of Alexis, Shawn and Amber; dear sister of Nellie Smith and the following deceased, Treasurer Jacober, Olive Kerwin, Betty Hohne and George Silvernail.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 S. Franklin St., Chagrin Falls, where the family will receive friends today (Monday) from 5-8 at the funeral home.

Clyde Jones
WOOSTER -- Clyde H. Jones, 82, Wooster, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, in West View Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church with the Rev. Evelyn Manzella officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, Inc., 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster; Home Health Services of Wooster Community Hospital, 1761 Beall Ave., Wooster or to St. James Episcopal Church, 127 W. North St., Wooster.
He was born March 12, 1920, in Bellaire to Clyde and Daisy Hirn Jones.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille (Breckenridge) Jones of Wooster, whom he married in 1950; children, Barbara Lewis of Bokeelia, Fla., Cheryl (David) Berner of Lancaster; Clyde R. (Jeanne) Jones of Jeromesville; a sister, Rita Jones of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A sister, Zola Jones, died previously.

Michael Freeman
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Michael C. Freeman, 41, of West Hollywood, Calif., died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002.
Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Friends may call Monday from 3-5 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara I. Ferroni; brother, Howard Z. (K. Robin) Freeman and sisters, Annaliese (David) Mehrle, Katherine (Paul) Matheson and Celeste (E. Joseph) Keiser.
