SMITHVILLE -- Charles Guthrie Boothe Jr., 60, of Smithville, formerly of Fenwick, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville, after a short illness. Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 10, at Fields Cemetery, Nettie, W.Va. The Rev. Houston Boothe officiated. Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, W.Va., handled arrangements.

Patricia Dinsmore
BIG PRAIRIE -- Patricia June Dinsmore, 63, of Big Prairie, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, 1998, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, after an extended illness. Memorial services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Berlin Christian Fellowship Church, with the Rev. David Stutzman officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Alexander Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

MILLERSBURG -- Hester Pyers, 77, of Millersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 18, at Terrace View Nursing Home, after an extended illness. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is handling arrangements.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Alvin J. Schlabach, 68, of Virginia Beach, Va., died Monday, Jan. 19, at a local hospital. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, Va., with the Rev. Don Staton officiating. Burial will be at Princess Anne Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, Va. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

SUGARCREEK -- Mary J. Miller, 84, 814 Seldenright Road, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 20, at Union Hospital in Dover, after a brief illness. Services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Andy R. Miller officiating. Burial will be at the Schlabach Cemetery, Clark Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime today (Wednesday) after 3 at the residence. Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling arrangements.

BALTIC -- Edna P. Troyer, 78, 5332 County Road 59, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, at her residence after an extended illness. Services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Andrew J. Yoder residence, 5332 County Road 59, Baltic, with Bishop Noah N.L. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Troyer Cemetery, Clark Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling arrangements.

APPLE CREEK -- George F. Dawson, 58, 68 Maple St., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Johnston-Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, with the Rev. Wesley Ball officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Marshallville where military rites will be conducted by Wooster American Legion Post 68. Friends may call Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. SHREVE -- Marguerite Fought, 78, 371 Church St., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, at her residence. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Shreve Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, with the Rev. Priscilla E. Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. at Johnston-Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, where Eastern Star services will be held at 8:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

ORRVILLE -- Evelyn J. Hawks, 86, formerly of 165 Chateau Circle, Orrville, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, after a long illness. Services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will be at Vira Methodist Church Cemetery in Vira, Pa. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Genevene Pifer
COLUMBUS -- Genevene Edna Pifer, 78, of Columbus, formerly of Wayne County, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, at her home. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Grace Brethren Church, 8225 Worthington-Galena Road, with Pastor James Custer officiating. Burial will be at Blendon Central Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Worthington Christian School in her memory.

Ottilie 'Della' Black
MEDINA -- Ottilie "Della" Black, 76, of Medina, formerly of Cincinnati, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at Akron General Hospital. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel in Akron, with the Rev. Father James McGilloway officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery in Hillsboro. Roberts Funeral Home, Wooster, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel, 976 W. Waterloo Road, Akron 44314; or the Activities Department at Samaritan Care Center, 806 E. Washington St., Medina 44256, where Della had resided since Nov. 21, 1995.

WOOSTER -- Edna D. Flener, 81, 2611 Batdorf Road, Wooster, died Thursday morning, Jan. 22, 1998, at Smithville-Western Care Center. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Revs. Claude McComas, Don Loving and Charles Abney officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- John Miles Force, 82, 80 Marcott Drive, died Wednesday, Jan. 21 at his home after a long illness. Services will be Saturday at Crisp-Coon Funeral Chapel in Winter Haven, Fla. Cremation will follow. There will be no calling hours.

Easterday, 80, of Dandridge, Tenn., formerly of Creston, died Friday morning, Jan. 23, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, Tenn., after a period of declining health Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Robert Combs officiating. Burial will be at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

WOOSTER -- Helen F. Nicholson, 93, formerly of Portage Road, Wooster, died Friday, Jan. 23, at West View Manor Nursing Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Louise Harmon, 99, 202 Hardin-Reed Road, died Thursday, Jan. 8, at her home. She was the mother of Mildred Jackson of Wooster and Hazel Carey of Apple Creek. Services were held Saturday, Jan. 10, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. The Rev. Lex Eaker officiated. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.

WOOSTER -- Harry B. Johnson, 70, of Wooster, died Thursday, Jan. 22, in Naples, Fla. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at North Haven Covenant Church in Cuyahoga Falls with Rev. Tim Olsen officiating. Burial was Saturday, Jan. 24 at Glen Cemetery in Paxton, Ill. Friends may call Monday from 6-9 p.m. at Smithville Brethren Church in Smithville.
