WOOSTER -- Arthur P. Schwartz, 86, of Wooster died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at his residence.
Service of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1915, in Akron to Gustave and Emma (Kohls) Schwartz and married Ethel Himmel on Oct. 12, 1946. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Richard (Jean) Schwartz of Creston, Frederic (Mary Ann) Schwartz of Burbank, Philip (Barbara) Schwartz of Florida, Pamela Mallorey of Wooster and Celeste (Gary) Gerwig of Ashland; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Seiler of Sagamore Hills.

Jack Skelly Sr.
MILLERSBURG -- Jack T. Skelly Sr., 71, of Millersburg, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg after an extended illness.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Pastor Roland Maust officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
He was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Millersburg to Ralph W. and Alice Pearl (Korns) Skelly and married Wilma Steele. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jack T. (Pam) Skelly Jr. of Killbuck; granddaughters, Tiffany and Cassidy; a brother, Kenny Skelly of Youngstown; and sisters, Barbara Harding of Millersburg and Linda Henry of Holmesville.

Martha Brandeberry
WOOSTER -- Martha Leora (Dilts) Brandeberry, 91, a resident of Smithville-Western Commons Nursing Home, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at the home.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 W. Sandusky St., Findlay, with the Rev. Ben W. Lowell officiating. Burial will be at Bechtel Cemetery, Van Buren.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Aug. 30, 1910, in Van Buren, Hancock County, to Otis "Opie" and Ada (Fisher) Dilts and married John C. Brandeberry on Nov. 28, 1934. He died Feb. 21, 1993.
Surviving are daughters, Brenda Kraner of Galion and Sharon Wright of Cambridge, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter.

Helen Brown
WOOSTER -- Helen Bray Brown, 81, 4345 Hunters Chase Lane, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Cleveland Clinic.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster with the Rev. Dr. James Christensen officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born June 10, 1920, in Apple Creek to Clarence and Della (Johnson) Clouse and married H.E. Bill Gray. He died in 1993. On Dec. 3, 1998, she married Robert Brown. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Jackie (Richard) Beaver of Smithville; stepchildren, Ted (Sandy) Brown, William Brown and Vicky (Daniel) Rogers; grandchildren, Sherri (Bill) Habansky of West Lake and Greg (Stacy) Beaver of Smithville; great-grandsons, Steven Habansky and Colton Beaver; step-grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher and Andrew Yearin and Mary Rose Rogers; sisters, Belle Kersten of Wooster and Louella Warner of Fairlawn; a brother, Wayne Clouse of Indianapolis; and a sister-in-law, Marguerite Shaw of Canton.

Beulah Long
BIG PRAIRIE -- Beulah M. Long, 92, dear mother of Dean Foster of Wooster, Keith Foster of Tampa, Fla., Wanda Stallman-Kendel of Green and Nancy Bly of Akron, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2002.
Surviving are a sister, Lelah Kemerer of Paris, Ill.; grandchildren, Lou Zane Crawford, Sue Jane (Donnie) Smith and Lynn Foster, all of Wooster, Greg Stallman of Wadsworth and Susan Stallman Cole of Cato, N.Y.; nine great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Beulah was born Oct. 2, 1909, in Moundsville, W.Va., and married Chester Long on Oct. 17, 1936. He passed away Nov. 29, 1988.
The family suggests contributions be made to Ripley Church of Christ, 12298 County Road 330, Big Prairie 44611.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ripley Church of Christ, with Jim Platner and Ken Mulpas officiating.
Following the service, a private family burial will be held at Ripley Cemetery.
Following the services, friends and neighbors are invited by the family to gather at Beulah's home for cookies and coffee and share in the tradition in which she so enjoyed.

Barbara Martinson
LODI -- Barbara (Brewster) Martinson, 86, of Lodi, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at her home.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi with Pastor Ron Huff officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, where Order of Eastern Star services will be held at 8:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Galloway School, 215 W. Wieuca Road, NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30342.
She was born April 1, 1915, in Brecksville to Leon Burroughs and Leila (Carlton) Brewster and married Earl Martinson. He died in 1999.
Surviving are daughters, Linda and Beryl Martinson, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Candace Martinson of Columbus; two grandsons; and seven nieces and nephews.

John Keener
LOUDONVILLE -- John H. Keener, 89, 304 S. Market St., died Tuesday afternoon, March 26, 2002, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center, after a one-year illness.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. James Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 127 S. Union St., Loudonville; or to Loudonville Fire Department Inc., 200 N. Market St., Loudonville 44842.
He was born June 22, 1912, in Ashland to Lee Roy and Ada (Frontz) Keener and married Doris Sellers. She died in 2000.
Surviving are a son, Robert C. (Karen) Keener of Loudonville; and a granddaughter.

Mavis Boley
WOOSTER -- Mavis Boley, 69, of West Moreland Road, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Stull officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Big Prairie to Harold J. and Helen (Kauffman) Pennell and married William Boley on Aug. 9, 1952. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Shirley (Burnice) Cottrell of Wooster; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Eunice Kandel
FISHER, Ill. -- Eunice Lois Kandel, 84, of Fisher, Ill, formerly of Berlin, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Hutchinson Medical Center, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
Services were held Tuesday, March 19, at East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, Ill., with burial at East Bend Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Ressler officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Little Eden, Onekama, Mich.
She was born June 25, 1917, in Fisher, Ill., to Albert and Josephine (Yordy) Schrock and married Olen Kandel on June 1, 1943, in Berlin. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Ernie (Roberta) Kandel of Boulder, Colo., Frank (Linda) Kandel of Eureka, Ill., Rita (Stan) Smith of Gainesville, Fla., and Jeanette (Dale) Unzicker of Fisher, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Orval Schrock of Fisher, Ill.

Alease Toles
MASSILLON -- Alease Toles, 96, of Massillon, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Meadow Winds Health Care, after a long illness.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joseph Harkless officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home in Massillon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon.
She was born Jan. 12, 1906, in Ringgold, Ga., to William and Lula (Yarbough) Pasley and married Edward Toles. He died in 1991.
Surviving are a son, Timothy (Sharon) Toles of Wooster; three grandchildren; and a sister, Georgia Woods of Massillon.

Joan Dettis
WOOSTER -- Joan J. Dettis, 71, 904 Forest Drive, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. James Collier officiating.
There will be no calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Wayne County Branch, 1740 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Trafford, Pa., to Kenneth W. and Anna B. (Brodbeck) Jones and married Charles E. Dettis on Sept. 18, 1953 in Trafford, Pa. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Mary (Gordon) Berggren of Belleview, Wash., Vicky (Robert) Lathrop of Grove City, Susan (Daniel) Silinski of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Sandy Dettis of Akron; grandchildren, Ross and Leah Berggren, Whitney and Erin Lathrop, Bethany and Drew Silinski; and a sister, Betty Schafer of Edgewood, Pa.

Lillian Powell
RITTMAN -- Lillian L. Powell, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at the Apostolic Christian Home, Rittman.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sherman Church of Christ, with Bill Stone officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 6-9 p.m. at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home, 10680 Steiner Road, Rittman 44270.
Surviving are children, Donald (Rose) Powell of Norton, Sarah Jane (James) Susong of Wooster and Rebecca (Joseph) Harrison of Barberton; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Her husband of 56 years, Millard Powell, died previously.

Maria Lovich
CLEVELAND -- Maria Lovich, 84, of Lakeshore Boulevard, Cleveland, formerly of Wooster, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Euclid Hospital.
Graveside services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
There will be no calling hours. Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, is handling arrangements.
She was born Jan. 20, 1918, in Hungary, to Janos and Ilma (Domneschytz) Benke and married Edward Lovich. He died previously.
Surviving are five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ian Beachy
MILLERSBURG -- Ian Beachy, 4, 7233 Township Road 668, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, after a brief illness.
Services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Noah J. Troyer officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.
He was born Aug. 1, 1997, in Millersburg, to Allen D. and Karen A. (Miller) Beachy.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are sisters, Charlene, Geneva and Rachel, and a brother, Jeremy, all of the home; grandparents, Andy and Katie Miller of Millersburg and David and Edna Beachy of Dundee.
