Clara Gerber
WOOSTER -- Clara I. Gerber, 88, of Wooster, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Horn Nursing Home.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Glenn Royer officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster; American Cancer Society, Wayne County Branch, 1740 Cleveland Road, Wooster; or to Alzheimer's Association, 345 N. Market St., Wooster 44691.
She was born June 4, 1914, in Wayne County to Charles and Bertha (McAfee) Franks and married Glenn Gerber on April 11, 1936. He died in 1981.
She had worked at Freedlander's Department Store for more than 25 years in retail sales and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Surviving are children, Bill (Shannon) Gerber of Maitland, Fla., Tom (Pat) Gerber and Barbara (Kenneth) Richard, both of Wooster; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Sigler of Wooster.
In addition to her husband, brothers, Floyd and Charles Franks and sisters, Helen Kutschbach and Kathryn Beck, died previously.

Marie Hooser
ROCKY RIVER -- Marie Hooser, 93, of Rocky River, formerly of Rittman, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph's in Lorain.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Salmons officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice of St. Joseph's; or Lakewood Baptist Church.
She was born May 14, 1909, in Fort Gay, W.Va., to John and Leota (Frazier) Frasher. She had made her home in Rittman from 1928-54 and 1973-86.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Surviving are children, David R. (Karen) Hooser of Richfield and Joyce Ann (John C.) Bowman of Sheffield Lake; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilber Frasher of Kenova, W.Va., and Billy Jim Frasher of Ironton; and a sister, Roberta Perry of Kenova, W.Va.

Nellie Keller
MASSILLON -- Nellie A. Keller, 91, a resident of Hanover House Nursing Center for the past six years, died Monday, March 3, 2003, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. She was formerly of Millersburg.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
She was born Oct. 27, 1911, in Millersburg to Russell and Hallie Winslow and married Bernard "Bernie" Keller. He died previously.
She was a 1929 graduate of Millersburg High School and had made her home in the Akron, Canton and Massillon areas most of her life.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, a brother, Wallace Winslow and a sister, Virginia Spahr, died previously.

Mary Mast
DUNDEE -- Mary E. Mast, 70, 9461 Township Road 659, died Tuesday evening, March 4, 2003, at her home after an extended illness.
Services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Dan P. Raber officiating. Burial will be at Keim Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.
She was born Aug. 14, 1932, near Hartville to John W. and Anna L. (Schlabach) Helmuth and married Eli D. Mast on Oct. 30, 1952. He died Sept. 3, 1984.
She had lived most of her life in Holmes County and was a member of the Old Order Amish.
Surviving are a sister, Lizzie Helmuth of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews.

George McClelland
CANAL FULTON -- George E. McClelland, 82, of Canal Fulton, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Massillon Community Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton, with Pastor John Long officiating. Burial will be at Stanwood Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
He was born in Dalton to Samuel and Maude (Minks) McClelland and was a resident of the area all of his life. He was a retired farmer and retired employee of Lawrence Township Road Department. He was a member of the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Jean F. (Miller) McClelland; and nieces and nephews.
Sisters, Arlene Shanklin, Ruth Berg and Esther Phillips, died previously.

Rosemary Bennett
WOOSTER -- Rosemary E. Bennett, 74, of Wooster, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
The family requests no flowers. Contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 182039, Dept. 013, Columbus 43218-2039.
She was born March 27, 1928, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to John and Rose (Ambrustcher) Dennany and married Jack D. Bennett on June 17, 1975. He survives.
She was a secretary for the board of directors at Michigan State, Lansing, Mich., and liked to travel, enjoyed crafts and reading. She also enjoyed having her children and grandchildren visit often and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are stepchildren, Jack (Nelda) Bennett of Houston, Texas, Rex (Judy) Bennett and Jan (John) Douglas, both of Wooster and Dyke (Linda) Bennett of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, William Dennany of Lansing, Mich.; and a sister, Irene Kabboord of Cocoa Beach, Fla.
Her parents and a brother, Donald Dennany, died previously.

Rose Grannis
LODI -- Rose A. Grannis, 80, 669 Oak Court, Apt. 7, died Thursday morning, March 6, 2003, at Medina General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Jesus Emmanuel Catholic Church in Seville with Father Ned Weist officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 1300 Christmas Seal Drive, NW, Canton 44709.
She was born July 25, 1922 in Dover, N.J. to Nicholas and Amelia (Saker) Mackron and married George Grannis Sr. on Jan. 10, 1943. He survives.
She had been a homemaker.
She was a member of Our Lady of Help Christians Parish and assisted with the Senior Bowling and with Junior Bowling at Strike & Spare Lanes in Lodi.
She had made her home in Lodi since 1978.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children and their spouses, George and Sheila Grannis Jr. of Lodi, Lawrence and Renee Grannis of Reston, Va. and Kathleen and Randy Huffman of Lodi; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren
Two brothers and three sisters died previously.

Eileen Justice
CRESTON -- Eileen B. Justice, 83, Burbank St., died Wednesday afternoon, March 5, 2003, at Horn Nursing Center in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with the Rev. Norman Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-9 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.

She was born Feb. 28, 1920 in Creston to Ollie B. and Elma (Lutz) Henry. She married Lochiel "Blackie" Justice on June 15, 1945. He died March 29, 1974.
She was a 1938 graduate of Creston High School and attended Wooster Business College.
She retired in 1991 from Latex Industries in Chippewa Lake following 23 years of service.
She was a member of First Church of God in Creston where she had taught Sunday School and sang in the choir, Creston Senior Citizens, Salvation Army Senior Citizens Group and was a volunteer at Meadowview Care Center.
She had made her home in Creston all her life.
Surviving are her children, Pat and husband, Tom Gerber of Wooster, Gary and wife, Liz Justice of Creston and Marla and husband, Jim Lautzenhiser of Wooster; eight grandchildren, Tina Sprowls, Larry Lautzenhiser, Todd Gerber, Tim Gerber, Brad Justice, Brian Lutzenhiser, Jennifer Dube and Matthew Justice; three great-grandchildren, Tasha, Travis and Jared; nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Mikey.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Landes and an infant sister, Ruth.

Joan Rickett
CHESAPEAKE, Va. -- Joan Buena Rickett, 64, of the 3100 block of Nealwood Ave., Orlando, Fla.. and a long time resident of Chesapeake, Va., passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Chesapeake General Hospital.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Oman Funeral Home and Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, Va. with the Rev. Chip Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Sidney M. Oman Cancer Treatment Center, 736 Battlefield Blvd., N. Chesapeake, Va. 23320 or The Shriners Crippled Children Hospital, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
She was born Feb. 26, 1939 in Easley, S.C. to Dewyatt A. and Buena (Benjamin) Martin.
She was deli manager of Safeway and Farm Fresh Supermarkets in Great Bridge for many years and was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Wooster.
Surviving are her husband, Chester R. Rickett Jr.; three sons, Jeff Phillips of Chesapeake, Va., Marty Phillips and wife, Cheryl of Atlanta, Ga. and Jon Phillips and wife, Sue of Chesapeake, Va.; two stepdaughters, Karla Hamrick and husband, Bruce of Wapakoneta and Karen Campbell and husband, Randy of Homeworth; two stepsons, Keith Rickett and Kurt Rickett and wife, Jenni, all of Wooster; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Full-Thompson of Chesapeake, Va. and Mary "Decy" Zoby of Virginia Beach, Va. and three brothers, Floyd Martin and David Martin, both of Chesapeake, Va. and D.A. Martin of Virginia Beach, Va.
Her parents, a son, Randy Phillips and a brother, Melvin, Martin, died previously.

Marie Shoup
DALTON -- Marie B. Shoup, 80, 1487 Tannerville Road, went home to be with her Lord, on Thursday morning, March 6, 2003, at her residence, following a four month illness.
Services will be held at Martins Mennonite Church, near Orrville, on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randy Murray officiating. Burial will take place at Martins Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at Martins Mennonite Church, 14027 Church Road, Orrville, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Arrangements are in charge of Auble Funeral Home in Orrville.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691 and Martins Mennonite Church, 14027 Church Road, Orrville 44667.
She was born August 8, 1922 in Belleville, Pa., the daughter of William B. and Margaret E. (Hooley) Stuter.
She attended Dalton Schools.
On September 8, 1946 she was united in marriage to Orin C. Shoup in Dalton. He died September 17, 1997.
She was a homemaker and had assisted on the family farm.
She was a member of Martins Mennonite Church and had been active in Mennonite Women, Hospitality Committee, Seasoned Citizens, and as a greeter at the church.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Donald and JoAnn Shoup, Darrel and Julia Shoup, both of Orrville, Ernest and Melaine Shoup, David and Diane Shoup, and Duane and Louise Shoup, all of Dalton, Faye George of Orrville, Carol Curie of Dalton and Twila and Rich Lehman of Albany, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Jeannette Shoup of Orrville; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Edith Wirth of Wooster.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Olin Shoup in 1999, a brother, Gene Stuter, and infant brothers, Leroy and David Stuter.

Ruth VanDusen
COSHOCTON -- Ruth VanDusen, 85, of West Pine Street, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Saturday, March 8, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Free Funeral Home in Coshocton with Major Wilmer Bender officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, prior to services, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Neosa Children's Fund, 5037 Edgewood Road SW, Carrollton 44615. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Born on April 11, 1917 in Coshocton, she was the daughter of the late Byron Lee and Blanche (LeMonte) Phillips.
She was a member of the Salvation Army where for 23 years she was a Christmas bell ringer. She was also a member of the Ladies Home League and enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include two sons, Harry R. (Marjorie) Wiggins and Larry Wiggins, both of Coshocton; four daughters, Virginia (Robert "Bob") Patterson of Black Mountain, North Carolina, Linda (Carlos) Kessinger of Shreve, Judy Egnor of Carrollton and Juanita (Odell) Taylor of Brandon, Fla.; four stepsons, Blaine (Mary) Immel, Weldon Immel and Norman (Pat) Immel, all of Wooster and Wayne (Flossie) VanDusen of Coshocton; a stepdaughter, Emily Jones of Coshocton; a step-daughter-in-law, Betty Immel of Wooster; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a brother, James Phillips of Battleground, Wash.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Harry Leonard Wiggins, Atlee Immel and Sylvia VanDusen, a daughter, Ruth Ann Wiggins, a son, Donald Immel, a stepson, Wilford Immel, five sisters and three brothers.
