Thomas Robinson
CORTEZ, Fla. -- Thomas E. Robinson, 56, of Cortez, Fla., formerly of Wooster, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at his home.
A celebration of life will be Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. at The Merry-Go-Round in Cortez, Fla.
Arrangements are being handled by The Good Earth Crematory in Bradenton, Fla.
He was born June 2, 1946, in Ashland to Herbert and Viola (Hamlin) Robinson.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965-68, where he was a weapons instructor and had been a marine mechanic and welder.
He was a member of Wooster Eagles and Moose Lodge in Bradenton Beach, Fla.
Surviving are his fiancee, Joann Durnak of Cortez, Fla.; children, Wendy of Orlando, Fla., and Jody Green of Millersburg; two grandchildren; his mother of North Port, Fla.; and a brother, Richard of North Port, Fla.

Joas Yoder
CANTON -- Joas "Joe" Yoder, 85, of Canton, passed away Thursday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2003, at Hanover House, following an extended illness.
Born in Holmes County on April 15, 1917 to his parents, the late Daniel and Katherine Yoder, he had been a truck driver for over 35 years, retiring in 1983 from Lee Way Motor Freight.
He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, American Association of Retired Persons and the Teamsters Union. In retirement, he found special joy by both owning and training racehorses.
Besides his parents, preceding him in death was his son, Ronald Yoder.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise McKinney Yoder of Canton, to whom he would have been married 60 years this coming April; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel Yoder of Canton, Michael Yoder of North Canton and David and Anita Yoder of Dayton. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brian, Molly, Rebecca and Rachel; four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Hannah, Madison and Marissa; a brother, Howard Yoder of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and David Kandel of Berlin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Reed Funeral Home in Canton with the Rev. William Pawson officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Henry Blake
RITTMAN -- Henry Blake, 92, of Rittman, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Doylestown Care Center, following a short illness.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth with the Rev. Jim Easterling officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Wadsworth.
Friends may call Monday from 1-2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Hillcrest Chapel, 9560 Acme Road, Wadsworth.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wadsworth-Rittman, 102 Main Street, Suite 304, Wadsworth 44281.
He was born on July 9, 1910, in Gragston, W.Va. to John and Della (Brown) Blake and married Beulah Ellison on Oct. 6, 1930. She died Dec. 19, 1997.
He was employed by Permold Company in Medina, and the Ohio Bluetip Match Company.
He had lived in Rittman for over 50 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved automobiles.
Surviving are his daughter, Norma Smith of Rittman; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Olivia Griffith and Bessie Smith, died previously.

Shirley Combs
MILLERSBURG -- Shirley J. Combs, 67, born in Akron, Ohio on August 7, 1935, passed away January 10, 2003.
She was preceded in death by parents, Enid L. and William E. Gemind; son, Daniel Combs; and brother, James Gemind.
Survivors include sons, Fred J. Combs and James A. Combs; sisters, Joy Dee Brodie (Jim), Donna L. Gemind, and Billie Lynn Gemind; brother, George Gemind; one grandson, one granddaughter, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 28, at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, 8612 State Route 39 West, Millersburg, Ohio, with Pastor Dan DeHass officiating.
Friends and family may call from 12 p.m. until time of service. Interment at Community Bible Church Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 341, Millersburg, Ohio 44654.

Barton Longway
NISKAYUNA, N.Y. -- Barton L. Longway, 75, of Niskayuna, N.Y., died at Kingsway Arms on Wednesday, January 15, 2003.
A Utica native, he was the son of E. Marshal and Helen Longway.
He earned his bachelor of science degree in personnel administration from Syracuse University's Utica campus. His entire career was spent at Schenectady General Electric in employee relations, assignments, concluding with manager of union relations of the large motor division. Barton's hobbies included fishing and dog training.
He served on the board of the Animal Protective Foundation and was active in Rotary. He was also an active member of the Niskayuna Reformed Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dora Newman Longway, and her brother, George Newman and his wife, Norma of Wooster; nephews and their families, John Newman of Derwood, Md. and James Newman of Wooster; cousins, Charles and Mary Kent of Utica, N.Y. and the Farhart family, Maurice, Adrienne and Celeste.
A memorial service was held Sunday, January 19, 2003, at 3 p.m. at the Niskayuna Reformed Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Niskayuna Reformed Church at 3041 Troy-Schenectady Road, Niskayuna, N.Y. 12309 or the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, 53 Maple Avenue, Glenville, N.Y. 12302.

Tyler Silvius
DUNDEE -- Tyler Glen Silvius, 32, of Dundee, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with the Rev. Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will be at Dundee Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Tuscarawas County Firefighters Association Memorial Services will be Monday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne Township Fire Department, P.O. Box 259, Dundee 44624.
He was born Nov. 27, 1970, in Dover to Ralph G. and Rose (Bair) Silvius.
He was a graduate of Garaway High School and Buckeye Joint Vocational School in 1990.
He was an auto technician at Kline Service Center in Berlin and had worked at the former Eckert Ford and Nicholson Ford, both of Sugarcreek. He was a former stock car enthusiast.
He was a member of the Church of New Hope in Dover. He became a member of Wayne Township Fire Department in April of 1991 and was currently serving as Assistant Fire Chief.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Miller Silvius, whom he married June 5, 1994; two daughters, Amber Lee Silvius of New Philadelphia and Tayler Rebecca Rose Silvius of the home; his parents of Dundee; a brother, Todd Silvius of Dundee; a sister, Gena Lorenz of Uhrichsville; his grandmother, Evelyn Silvius of Dundee; his grandfather, Harold Bair of Gnadenhutten and two nieces and two nephews.
His grandfather, Ralph Silvius and his grandmother, Lucille Bair, died previously.

Sarah Snyder
HARTVILLE -- Sarah Ann Snyder, 98, of Hartville, and formerly of Winesburg and Wooster, died Saturday, January 25, 2003, at the Altercare of Hartville, following a period of declining health.
She was born in Walnut Creek Township on August 25, 1904 to the late Eli D. and Elizabeth (Weaver) Miller and had been a Wooster resident from 1963 to 1997.
She retired in 1972 as a nursing aide from the Apple Creek Developmental Center after 21 years of service.
On February 8, 1940, she married Paul R. Snyder. He died September 10, 1985.
Surviving are three children, Martha (Eric) Smith of Winesburg, Betty (Wesley) Mast of Uniontown, and Harley L. (Mary) Snyder of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister Mattie Yoder of Fredericksburg and a brother William (Ruth) Miller of Wooster, a sister-in-law, Esther Miller of Sun City, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Jonas, Monroe, Andrew, Homer, and Eli Miller and a sister Mary Mast.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton with Dennis Falb and Irving Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Fryburg Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army of Wooster, P.O. Box 764, Wooster 44691 or the Haven of Rest Ministries, P.O. Box 547, Akron 44309.

Don Specht
DALTON -- Don E. Specht, 66, of Dalton, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 22, 2003, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., following a brief illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Stanwood Community Church with Pastor Brian Hunter officiating. Burial will be at the Ragersville Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton or one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Stanwood Community Church.
He was born Aug. 30, 1936, in New Philadelphia to Harry E. and Pearl (Zimmerman) Specht and married C. Arleine Linerode on June 3, 1962. She survives.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany.
He had lived most of his life near Dalton and was a farmer and had worked at Buckeye Feeds in Dalton for 44 years.
He was a member of the Stanwood Community Church where he had served as an Elder, Deacon and church treasurer. He had twice gone to Haiti with the Men for Missions Group. He was a member and past president of the Tuslaw Lions Club, the North East Ohio Pork Producers, a member and past state director of the Ohio Pork Producers Council District 9. He was a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau and was a 4-H adviser. He was a past member of the Simmental Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Don (Elsie) Specht of Apple Creek, and a daughter, Susan (Marlon) Overholt of Madison, S.D.; five grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Edwards of Orrville and a brother, H. Nelson Specht of Lincolnton, N.C.
An infant brother and sister, died previously.

Lucille Uhler
WOOSTER -- Lucille Edna Uhler, 80, 2425 Graustark Path, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with the Rev. Dwight Hayes officiating. Burial will be at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 108, Akron 44313.
She was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Friendsville to Vernon and Clara (Dierwechter) Feeman and married Robert Uhler on Jan. 11, 1947, in Leroy. He survives.
She graduated from Leroy High School in 1941 and retired from the Westfield Companies following 33 years of service.
She is a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church and was formerly a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Lodi.
She had made her home in Medina, moving to Wooster in 1986.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a sister, Leona Norris of Chippewa Lake, and nieces and nephews.

Allen Yoder
BALTIC -- Allen M. Yoder, 11, 2909 State Route 557, died early Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 2003, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, after becoming ill at home.
Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Yoder residence with Minister Mose M.E. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Burkholder Cemetery in Clark Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the Yoder residence.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
He was born March 13, 1991 in Dover to Mose M. and Mary A. (Miller) Yoder.
His parents are members of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters and three brothers, Christina, Linda, Roman, David Lee and John Mark and his grandparents, Abe I. and Fannie Miller of Baltic and Susie Yoder of Sugarcreek.
His grandfather, Monroe L. Yoder, died previously.

Inez Fullerton
WOOSTER -- Inez E. Fullerton, 93, formerly of Country Club Lane, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 24, 2003, at West View Manor.
Services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, where friends may call two hours prior to the services. The Revs. Dwight Hayes and Dale RuLon will officiate.
Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Wooster, 243 N. Market St., Wooster; or to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Oct. 4, 1909, in Logan County to Judson and Bertha Belle (Ritchey) Patrick and married Harold Ted Fullerton. He died in 1998.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wooster, where she had taught fourth grade Sunday school for 25 years.
Surviving are children, Ella Belle Finley of Doylestown and Doris Kinkoph of Deerfield; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, a son, Dale E. Fullerton, died in 1986. A brother, Paul Patrick, also died previously.
