Betsy Hower
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Betsy Hower, 62, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, following a 22-year struggle with heart disease.
She was the sister and sister-in-law of Jill and Thomas Marthey of Orrville.
Those who wish may make contributions to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 4464 Pearl Road, Cleveland 44109.
She was the daughter of Maude and Harry Hower.
She graduated from Akron City Hospital School of Radiology and worked for 38 years as an X-Ray technician in hospitals in Medina, Akron and Cleveland before moving to Jacksonville, Fla. in 1988. She was employed at Methodist Hospital in Jacksonville for 10 years.
Surviving in addition to her sister and brother-in-law of Orrville are a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and George MacLeod of Orange Park, Fla.
Her parents and a sister, Jan Hower Dahl, died previously.

Opal Keener
ORRVILLE -- Opal J. Keener, 81, of Orrville, and formerly of Point Marion, RD 1 (Davison), Pa., died Monday, March 17, 2003, at the Brenn Field Nursing Home in Orrville.
Friends will be received at the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, 501 Morgantown St., Point Marion, Pa. Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. David Lee Corob officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa.
She was born Nov. 20, 1921 in Mill Creek, W.Va. to Sherdan and Maude E. (Morgan) Shiflett.
She had previously worked at Smuckers in Orrville and had retired from Houze Glass Corp. in Point Marion, Pa.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Edward (Patricia) Popovich of Smithfield, Pa., Brenda Maynard of Wooster, Mrs. Jim (Diana) Keltz of Orrville and Danny Keener of Savannah, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Dan P. Keener, died in Nov. 1981, two sons, William and Robert Keener, two sisters, Viola McCauley and Irene Keener, and three brothers, Carl, Herman and Hughie Shiflett, also died previously.

Paul Koher Sr.
MARSHALLVILLE -- Paul Koher Sr., 88, of Marshallville, died Monday morning, March 17, 2003, at Horn's Nursing Center, Wooster, following a short illness.
A committal service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, where military rites and honors will be held.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society of Wayne County, in care of Wooster Clinic, 1740 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born Jan. 15, 1915 in Fly (Monroe County) and moved from Medina to Marshallville where he had resided since 1963.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre from Feb. 17, 1943-Feb. 22, 1946.
He was a member of the former Grace Cathedral Church of Akron and was a member of the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni.
Surviving are a son, Paul (Julie) Koher Jr. of Green; three daughters, Irma (Jeff) Hill of Medina, June (Dave) Lucas of Huntington, W.Va. and Penny (Stephen) Rafalko of Akron; two stepdaughters, Ruth (Larry) Bannister of Snellville, Ga. and Goldie McCune of Coshocton; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A sister, Mary and three brothers, Charles, John and Clyde Koher, died previously.

Darlene Miller
SEVILLE -- Darlene Miller, 44, of Seville, died Monday, March 17, 2003, at her home.
Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 2684 Seville Road, Rittman with Pastor Tim Short officiating. Private family burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are being handled by Armstrong-Waite Funeral Home in Seville.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court St., Medina 44256, Faith Comes by Hearing (Hosanna), 2421 Azter Road NE, Albuquerque, N.M. 87107-4200, Habitat for Humanity, 704 N. Court St., Medina 44256.
She was born in Wadsworth to Howard and Wilda (Ross) Vancamp.
She had been a life resident of Medina County and was employed by Bil-Jac dog food industries for the past 12 years.
She was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church. She enjoyed reading, working cross stitch, her dogs, stamping and was a Star Wars (Trekkie).
Surviving are her husband, James Miller of Seville; a sister, Larraine Vancamp of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, John Vancamp of Houston, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Geneva Tatro
MOUNT VERNON -- Geneva Virginia "Ginny" Tatro, 86, of McKinley Street, died Monday, March 17, 2003, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 12, 1916 in Coshocton County to William Franklin and Clara Bell (Sunthimer) Smail.
She worked as a cook for Snow's Tavern and the Alcove, both of Mount Vernon for 27 years.
She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose.
Surviving is a sister, Clementine Thompson of Brinkhaven.
Her husband, Clarence Tatro died in 1975, a brother, Harvey Smail and a sister, Donna Schonauer, also died previously.

Nancy Villard
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Nancy Joan Villard, 68, of Fort Myers, Fla., died Sunday afternoon, March 16, 2003, at the Hospice Care Center, after a long illness.
She was born May 25, 1934 to Robert M. and Martha M. (Stauffer) Robison in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband, Charles P. Villard of Fort Myers, Fla.; her mother, Martha Robison of Mansfield; her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Kathy Villard of Mansfield; a daughter, Susan M. Davis of Mansfield and six grandchildren, Jennifer and Kimberly Villard, Heather Paramore, Holly and Heather Davis and Charlie Edgell.
She was married on April 27, 1957 to Charles P. Villard. An only child, her family moved to Canton after her graduation from Louisville High School. She got a job with Bell Telephone Co. of Canton, later to get a job at The St. Regis Paper Co. where she was a PBX operator. While there, she married, and now with their two children, was transferred to the Ypsilanti, Michigan division of St. Regis where she continued to operate the PBX switchboard. In 1970, the family of four moved to Wooster, where she worked for Sprint as a telephone operator. From there she worked for Astro Metallurgical of Wooster, then for Crown Steel of Wooster. Later, being naturally talented in art, she worked for the Lake View Day Care Center for the elderly teaching and working with the residents about arts and crafts, as well as being their dietitian. Shortly after her husband retired from Buckeye Container Co. of Wooster, the couple moved to Mansfield to live closer to their children and grandchildren. In the winter months they lived in Fort Myers, Florida.
Nancy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 190 of Canton and a member of The Sons of Herman Lodge No. 14 in Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908.
Friends and family may reach her husband Charlie Villard at his address in Florida: The Villages of Ascot, 9640 Windsor Gardens Lane No. 106, Fort Myers, Florida 33919-8408.

Carl Brickey
CRESTON -- Carl "Buddy" Brickey, 68, 227 Coulter St., Creston, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 182039 Dept. 013, Columbus 43218-2039.
He was born Feb. 24, 1935 at Kenova, W.Va. to Wilber and Cora (Tucker) Brickey and married Joan See on Sept. 6, 1952. She survives.
He lived in Rittman and Polk before moving to Creston two years ago.
He was employed at the Ohio Injector Co. in Wadsworth and retired in 1972 due to ill health.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Carl E. Brickey of Orrville; a daughter, Mary (Mike) Ewers of Woodland, Texas; brothers, Arthur Brickey and Roy (Alma) Brickey, all of Wadsworth; sisters, Myrtle Perry of Rittman and Mary Ruth Porter of Huntington, W.Va.; a half-brother, Luther (Linda) Tucker of Doylestown; stepbrothers, Clyde (Ella) Tucker of Rittman, Hubert Tucker of Ashland, Ky.; and Roy (Betty) Tucker of Fort Gay, W.Va.; and four grandchildren.

Anna Chiampo
RITTMAN -- Anna Chiampo, 85, 53 Thonen St., died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Philip P. Pritt officiating. Burial in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. at the Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman, where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
She was born Oct. 9, 1917 in Export, Pa. to Mr. And Mrs. Pete Homko and lived in Belmont County before moving to Rittman in 1959.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
She married Joseph Chiampo in May of 1945 and he survives. Also surviving are sons, James (Sandra) Chiampo of Wooster and Joseph P. Chiampo of Rittman; daughters, Margaret (William) Aloisi and Mary Ann (Jack B.) Meadows, all of Rittman; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A son, John R. Chiampo died in 1992 and a son, Gerald Chiampo died in 1996, two brothers and a sister, also died previously.

Earl Gordon
SEVILLE -- Earl Gordon, 52, of Seville, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in Akron.
Services will be Sunday, March 23 at 2:30 p.m. at the Seville United Methodist Church, West Main Street, Seville with the Rev. Philip Wilden officiating. Following cremation burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville.
Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Seville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Arrangements are being handled by Armstrong-Waite Funeral Home in Seville.
The family suggest memorial contributions may be made to Seville United Methodist Church, 74 West Main Street, Seville 44273.
He was born in Wadsworth to Marion and Gladys (Cahoon) Gordon and was a lifetime resident in Medina County.
He was the current Guilford Township zoning inspector, was formerly Seville Village councilman, former Lions Club member, and Methodist church trustee. He enjoyed golfing and the out-of-doors.
For the past 30 years Earl and his wife have run a family business, Gordon Trucking and Gordon Supply. Most of all he enjoyed his precious family.
Surviving are his loving wife, Darla Gordon of Seville; a son, Bob Gordon of Seville; his mother, Gladys Gordon of Seville; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Shirley Gordon of Jonesboro, Ga.; a sister, Sharon Gordon of Seville; a granddaughter, Kailah Gordon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Lola Hill of Millersburg and several nieces and nephews.

Jane Heise
MASSILLON -- Jane A. Heise, 84, died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Doctor's Hospital in Massillon.
Friends may call at the Massillon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2177 Nave Road, Massillon, Saturday from 2-3 p.m. The memorial service begins at 3 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
She was born July 16, 1918 in Cleveland.
She married Arnold K. Heise. He died in 1994.
She lived in northeast Ohio most of her life and she and her husband started and operated Heise's Ceramics in Riceland in the early 1970s until they retired to Old Town, Fla. in 1991. She lived in Florida until May 2002 when she moved to Youngstown to live with her daughter until Jan. 2003 when she moved to The Legend's Care Center in Massillon.
Surviving are a daughter, Michael Jane Long; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, a daughter, Cheryle Yockey, a son, Gene Heise and two brothers, John Fleck and Ronald Fleck, died previously.

Richard Reining
MILLERSBURG -- Richard Reining, 80, of Millersburg, Ohio and formerly of Akron, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the Scenic View, Castle Nursing Home, Millersburg, Ohio.
He was born June 28, 1922 in Chillicothe, Ohio and was the son of Ralph and Helen (Cook) Reining.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Big Red 1 on Utah Beach, D-Day.
He worked at Inn Maid Noodles for his first cousin, Paul Reining.
Due to an unexpected fire at his mobile home, Richard spent the remainder of his life at Castle Nursing Home until his death.
Surviving are two cousins, Paul and wife, Lela Reining of Millersburg, Ohio and Ruthe Wolff of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Private burial will be at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.

Bernice Scheibe
MILLERSBURG -- Bernice Alfrieda Scheibe, 90, of Millersburg, died Wednesday morning, March 19, 2003, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, following a short illness.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Killbuck United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Blissfield Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Cooper of the United Methodist Church of Killbuck conducting both services.
There will be no calling hours.
Alexander Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Holmes County Senior Center, 224 North Clay Street, Millersburg 44654 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born April 15, 1912 in the Warsaw-Layland area, and was the daughter of Jackson and Mary Jane (Mullett) Easter. On May 4, 1935 she married Russell Paul Scheibe and he preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1966.
She retired from Pomerene Hospital as a Nurses Aid.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son and his spouse, Jan and Loretta Scheibe of Killbuck; daughter-in-law, Betty Scheibe of Millersburg; four grandchildren, Tammy Posey, Holly Pittenger, Todd Scheibe, and Tim Fath and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, Gary Scheibe, two grandsons, Collin and Derrick; two brothers and two sisters died previously.
