MILLERSBURG -- Iva Nola Baker, 99, a resident of Alter Care Nursing Home, Millersburg, formerly of Warsaw, died Saturday, March 7, at the nursing home. She was the grandmother of Linda (Butch) Wright of Millersburg. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice. Surviving in addition to her granddaughter are three other grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Robert St. John Sr.
MILLERSBURG -- Robert J. St. John Sr., 46, 7350 Township Road 129, died Saturday evening, March 7, 1998 at the Cleveland Clinic. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with his father-in-law, the Rev. David Adkins officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Robert J. St. John Jr., Jason L. St. John and Tangie A. NORTH LAWRENCE -- Bernard N. Trompower, 80, of North Lawrence, died Sunday, March 8, at Gaslite Villa, Canal Fulton. Services will be Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at Swigart-Easterly Funeral Home, Canal Fulton, with the Rev. Jack Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Sixteen St. John Church Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his daughter, Barbara Howard of North Canton, and two sons, Dale G. Trompower of Massillon and Nelson E. Trompower of Canal Fulton; nine grandchildren; one sister, Erma Brown of Navarre and one brother, Gareld L. Trompower of Canton.

Charles Freeman
MEDINA -- Charles W. Freeman, 88, of 860 Walter Road, died on Saturday, March 7, at Deaconess Hospital, Cleveland, following a short illness. Services will be Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Roger Pimpo officiating. There will be no calling hours. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Louis Smith of Creston; three grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Beulah Fearn
MILLERSBURG -- Memorial services for Beulah M. Peters Fearn, 86, of Millersburg, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Millersburg Christian Church. The Rev. David Carrick will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is handling arrangements. She died Friday, March 6. Clarence Stevens
JACKSON -- Clarence Stevens, 78, of Jackson, died Sunday, March 8, at his residence. He had lived in Rittman and was formerly employed at the Rittman Boxboard Co. Services will be Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at Mayhew Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Revs. Nathan Kingrey and Troy Miller officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 4-8 at the funeral home. Surviving are a brother, Clifford, and sisters, Mary Starkey, Mildred Meredith and Madalyn Dameron, all of Jackson.

WOOSTER -- Clay H. Shields, 83, 1684 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, died Sunday, March 8, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Cover officiating. Graveside services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Sharon Cemetery. Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 6-8 at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Bonnie Shields, Larry and Helen Shields and Jon and Linda Shields, all of Wooster; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Edgel Shields of Caldwell; and a sister, Dorothy Harmon of Sharon.

Daniel 'Boone' Adams
DOYLESTOWN -- Daniel K. "Boone" Adams, 55, of Doylestown, died Monday, March 9, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. Services will be Thursday at 5 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with the Rev. Richard Ross officiating. There will be a private family burial. Friends may call Thursday from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends who wish may make contributions to the family. Surviving are children, Brenda McMillan of Smithville, Chandra Adams of Houston, Daniel Adams of Walterboro, S.C., and Andrew Adams of Wooster; and nine grandchildren.

DOYLESTOWN -- Carol R. Durst, 49, of Doylestown, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with the Rev. Steve Malanowski officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday from noon until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. BURBANK -- Bertha Mae Alspach, 69, 24 Depot St., died Tuesday, March 10, at Meadowview Care Center in Seville, after a lengthy illness. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Kristin McKinley officiating. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Surviving are sons, Terry (Lisa) Alspach, Timothy and Thomas Alspach, all of Medina; her mother and an uncle, Beacher Hoosier, with whom she had made her home; a sister, Ada (Charles) Emerson of Burbank and two nieces.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Lucy A. Zimmerman, 91, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Lodi, died Saturday, March 7, in Fort Myers. Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi, with the Rev. Robert Holmes officiating. There will be no calling hours. Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, NE Ohio Affiliate Inc., 1689 E. 115th St., Cleveland 44106. Surviving are sons, Harry Zimmerman of Fort Myers, Fla., George and Ray Zimmerman, both of Ohio; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Enid Dull of Sanford, Fla., Julia Simon and Edna Yergin, both of Medina; and several nieces and nephews.

WEST SALEM -- Wesley L. Hughes, 71, of West Salem, died Tuesday, March 10, at his home. LAKELAND, Fla. -- Wilmer H. Doty, 81, of Lakeland, Fla., died Tuesday, March 10, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the brother of Thomas Doty of Wooster. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Lakeland, Fla. Burial will be at National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, P.O. Box 7129, Winter Haven, Fla. 33883. Surviving in addition to his brother, are his wife, Lucille Doty, children, Dennis Doty, Theresa (Doty) Andrews and Jennifer Doty, and a stepson, Lowell Hanson, all of Lakeland, Fla., and a stepdaughter, Linda Hanson-Burns of Dearborn, Mich.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Tipton of Lakeland, Fla.; and brothers, Robert Doty of Manteca, Calif., and Austin of Modesta, Calif.

FREDERICKSBURG -- Dan T. 'Oregon Dan' Hostetler, 86, of James Road, P.O. Box 280, died Tuesday evening, March 10, at his home, following an eighteen month illness. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holmesville Church of Christ, with the Rev. Don Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Surviving in addition to his wife are stepsons and wives, Donald and Pam Gaddis of Fredericksburg and Carl and Joan Newsome of Florida; foster son, D. Michael Conner of Akron; stepdaughters and husbands, Linda and Bob Berry of Danville, and Melanie and Jerry Manning of Georgia; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Yost Hosteler of Holmesville, Mahlon Hostetler of Maysville, and Eli and Joni Hostetler of Fredericksburg; and one sister, Mrs. Dan (Emma) Miller of Holmesville.

Bishop Levi Schlabach
MILLERSBURG -- Bishop Levi J. Schlabach, 75, of 7868 Township Road 334, died Wednesday evening, March 11, at his residence, after suffering an apparent heart attack. Services will be Saturday, at 9 a.m. at the residence, with the Bishop Lester Schlabach officiating. Burial will be in the Honey Run Church Cemetery in Hardy Twp. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton. Surviving in addition to his wife are four children and their spouses, Mrs. Robert D. (Mary) Hostetler, Mrs. Roy J. (Elmina) Miller and Jonas and Katie Schlabach, all of Millersburg, and Ivan and Betty Schlabach of the home; his father of Millersburg; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fannie Schlabach and Mrs. Atlee (Ella) Erb, both of Millersburg; and two brothers, Noah Schlabach and John Schlabach, both of Millersburg.

Hilton Hendershot
FAIRMONT, W.Va -- Hilton H. Hendershot, 85, of East Park Mobile Home Park, died Tuesday, March 10, at Wishing Well Health Center in Fairmont. He was the father of Gary (Claudia) Hendershot and the brother of Charles and William Hendershot, all of Wooster. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 201 South Paul, Woodsfield, where friends may call two hours prior to the services. The Rev. Virgil Long will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville. Friends may call today (Thursday) from 1-9 at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, W.Va. Surviving in addition to his son, brothers and wife are a daughter, Susan (Milan "Rocky") Cikovich of Fairmont, W.Va.; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Winifred Hawkins of Marietta.

BUTLER -- Betty Louise Miller, 78, 113 Union St., Butler, formerly of Loudonville, died Tuesday morning, March 10, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville, after a seven-month illness. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Cemetery in Butler, with the Rev. Lloyd Miller officiating. Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Butler Senior Center. William Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ann) Mautz of Zanesville; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Virginia) Sigler and Clara Gerber, both of Wooster.

Effie McDougal
WOOSTER -- Effie M. McDougal, 98, formerly of Batdorf Road, Wooster, died Friday, March 13 at Wayne County Care Center, Wooster. Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Fredericksburg Cemetery with the Rev. William H. Valentine officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster. Surviving are one nephew, Robert Spitler of Millersburg; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Eda Ott
McCORMICK, S.C. -- Eda Mae Ott, 86, of McCormick, S.C., formerly of Wooster, died Tuesday, March 9 at McCormick County Health Center, following a two year illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Michigan. The body has been cremated. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Roy (Joanne) Wells; three grandsons, four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Hochstetler of Orrville.
