Florence Swegan
YOUNGSTOWN -- Florence A. (Tuecke) Swegan, 92, 1216 Fifth Ave., formerly of Wooster, died Sunday evening, Sept. 5, 1999, at Park Vista Nursing Home in Youngstown.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Reese-Wynn-Winyard-McDermott Funeral Home in Niles. Burial will be at Niles City Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Wednesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1906 in Leechburg, Pa., to Oscar B. and Ella N. (Beatty) Tuecke and was married to Leroy F. Swegan. He died in July of 1958.
Surviving are daughters, Ann Zacour and her husband, Dr. Alexander Zacour, of Wooster and Virginia Holl of Poland; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Nelson Miller
ADAMSVILLE -- Nelson Miller, 10-year-old son of Sam J. and Lizzie J. (Shetler) Miller, 6125 Edgemoor Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at Children's Hospital in Columbus, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop William E. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Shetler Cemetery, Adamsville.
Friends may call Thursday anytime at the residence.
Arrangements are being handled by Vensil & Orr Funeral Home in Adamsville.
Other survivors include brothers, Samuel Miller Jr., Eddie, Mervin, Daniel and Atlee, and sisters, Linda Susan, Neve and Marie; grandparents, Jacob and Susan Miller and Jacob and Malinda Shetler, all of Apple Creek; and great-grandmothers, Emma J. Shetler of Fredericksburg and Lizzie E. Hershberger of Apple Creek.

Charles Dewitt
GLENMONT -- Charles Ellsworth Dewitt, 80, of Galatian Street, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Joanna Lance officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Loudonville American Legion.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions may be made to Glenmont Senior Center.
He was born May 30, 1919 to Bruce and Grace (Rose) Dewitt. He married Norma Butterbaugh and she survives.
Surviving are sons, Charles "Mitch" Dewitt of Glenmont, Michael C. Dewitt of Millersburg and Mark S. Dewitt of Wooster; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Dakoda Watt
SUGARCREEK -- Dakoda James Watt, 3-year-old son of Brian and Loretta (Hostetler) Watt, 135 Maple St., died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, in the emergency room at Union Hospital, from injuries sustained in an accident near his home.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Valley View Community Church, Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Chuck Jarvis officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
He was born Oct. 2, 1995 in Dover and is survived in addition to his parents are a sister, Kayla and a brother, Nicholas, both of the home; grandparents, Barbara Hostetler of Sugarcreek and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Watt of Dover; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Watt of Scio, Elizabeth Whipkey of Hennis Care Center in Dover and Sylvia Hostetler of Sugarcreek; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Forest Messner
APPLE CREEK -- Forest C. Messner, 84, 110 Mill St., died Saturday evening, Sept. 4, 1999, at his home.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Roy Grindstaff officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make contributions to Apple Creek Fire & Rescue Department, P.O. Box 208, Apple Creek 44606; or to Visiting Nurse Services, 470 E. Milltown Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born March 17, 1915 in Wayne County to Warren C. and Helen (Coddington) Messner and married Esther May Puff. She died in 1989.
Surviving are children, Janice Joann Messner, Calvin Earl and Harlan Dean Messner, all of Apple Creek; and sisters, Mrs. Harold (Clarabelle) Musselman, Mrs. Allen (Evelyn) Fry, Mrs. Orrin (Ethel) Shanklan and Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Odenkirk, all of Wooster.

Bernard Sanders
WOOSTER -- Bernard A. Sanders, 49, 613 E. Henry St., died Sunday morning, Sept. 5, 1999, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. William Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Chatham Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests contributions be made to McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster 44691, to help defray funeral expenses.
He was born Aug. 25, 1950 in Wheeling, W.Va., to Charles and Dolores Sanders and was married to Beverly (Arnold) Sanders. She survives.
Surviving are children, Mary, Linda, Lloyd "Bud", Bobby Joe and Tina Sanders, all of Wooster; a stepdaughter, Cindy Arnold of Wooster; a grandchild; a sister, Sandy Sanders, and brothers, Jesse and Johnny Sanders, all of Flushing.

Amelia Bickel
WOOSTER -- Beloved Amelia Ann Bickel, infant daughter of Matthew and Jamie (Tyler) Bickel, 2921 S. Honeytown Road, went to heaven on Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999.
Private family services will be held, with the Rev. Matt Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.
She was born Sept. 4, 1999 in Orrville and is survived in addition to her parents by paternal grandparents, Michael and Bonnie Bickel of Wooster, paternal great-grandmothers, Mary Ellen McKinley of Loudonville and Ruth Bickel of Millersburg; maternal grandparents, Diana and Gary Keen of Wooster and James Tyler of Oregon, maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Gehring, maternal great-grandfather, James Tyler and maternal step-great-grandmother, Alice Keen, all of Wooster; and aunts, Kelly Flores, Gina Perry and Melissa Bickel.

Harold Conrad
ORRVILLE -- Harold Dean Conrad, 63, 10558 Fox Lake Road, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Akron General Hospital, after a short illness.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Grace Brethren Church in Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Fetterhoff officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Smithville.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church Memorial Fund; or American Diabetes Association, Heartland Region.
He was born Dec. 18, 1935 in Orrville to Merlin and Viola (Hofstetter) Conrad and married Betty Martin on July 5, 1955. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Douglas and Janet Conrad of Wrentham, Mass., and Cathleen and Scott Imhoff of Orrville; grandchildren, Kristin, Justin and Jason Conrad and Ryan and Laura Imhoff; a brother, Paul Conrad of New Carlisle; and a sister, Norma Jean Steiner of Orrville.

Denise Walker
LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- Denise Sue (Blough) Walker, 38, of Lake Worth, Fla., went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Akron City Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. James R. McComas officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
Surviving are her husband, Kyle Walker; a daughter, Jessica Marie of the home; her mother, Marie Harper of Seville; sisters and their families, Tina and Dave Cotner and sons, Alex, David, Ronnie, Jimmy and Richard, and Dorothy and Ed Belle and sons, Kevin and Shawn, all of Chippewa Lake; brothers and their families, James and Carol Sidwell of Medina, Ronald and Jane Sidwell of Missouri, and sons, Jim and Tim Mowrey and Ronald Sidwell II; a grandmother, Dorothy Weaver of North Ridgeville; her father-in-law, Jack Walker of Lake Worth, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Judy Caple and her husband, Norman of Fort Myers, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Bob Walker of Tennessee, and Ronald Lockard of Florida; special friends, Jennifer and Steven Neff and son, Michael, of Hollywood, Fla.; and many cousins, aunts and uncles, including a special uncle Paul Weaver of Medina.

Torrence Arnold
SUGARCREEK -- Torrence D. Arnold, 89, of West Main Street, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Massillon Community Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Roger Thompson officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Surviving are his companion, Rose E. Rader, with whom he had made his home; several stepchildren; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three wives, Catherine Arnold; Esther Shafer Arnold, died April 19, 1979; and Ruth Patterson Gibson Arnold, on May 2, 1982.

Myrtle Batdorf
WOOSTER -- Myrtle E. Batdorf, 91, of Wooster, died Monday evening, Sept. 6, 1999, at West View Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Phil (Betty) Aylsworth of Shreve; and two grandchildren.
Her husband, Ira Batdorf, died in 1981.

Olin Shoup
ORRVILLE -- Olin D. Shoup, 51, 416 Park St., died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Revs. Delbert Kettering and Randy Murray officiating. Burial will be at Martins Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brethren Disaster Response, 7207 Chippewa Road, Orrville 44667.
He was born April 8, 1948 in Massillon to Orin and Marie (Brown) Shoup and married Jeannette Curie on March 20, 1976. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Lance Cpl. Stephen Shoup of Mirimar, Calif., and Keily Shoup of the home; his mother of Dalton; brothers, Erine, Dave and Duane Shoup, all of Dalton, Donnie and Darrel Shoup, both of Orrville; and sisters, Faye George of Orrville, Carol Curie of Dalton and Twila Lehman of Albany, Ore.

Roscoe Ecrement
ORRVILLE -- Roscoe Ecrement, 92, of Orrville, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Akron City Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton, with the Rev. Dennis Woodruff officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant View Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born Nov. 15, 1906 in Akron and was married to Fern Ecrement, on Jan. 30, 1950. She died previously.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Harold and Helen White and Edna and Richard Lustig, all of Orrville; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Martha Knorr
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Martha Schmidt Knorr, 86, of Huntsville, Ala., died Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 1999.
She was the mother of Mrs. Don (Ruth) Sewell of Wooster.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion, with the Revs. J. Weston Jones and Bob Groenke officiating. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 5-8 at Hughes-Allen Funeral Home, 318 Mount Vernon Ave., Marion.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
She was born Feb. 7, 1913 in Marion to Noah and Mary (Welch) Weaver and married Carroll Schmidt on Oct. 8, 1933. He died in 1986. On May 17, 1987, she married Chester Knorr. He died in 1988.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Lorentz of Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchildren.

The Rev. J. Robert Busche
FREEPORT, N.Y. -- The Rev. J. Robert Busche, 75, of Freeport, N.Y., formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at his home from cancer.
He was born June 10, 1924. In 1945, he married Miriam June Langell. She died in 1989. In February of 1999, he married Christine Messner. She survives.
Surviving are children, Sandra Hoffmann of Lancaster, N.H., Paul Busche of Mound, Minn., and Jennie Sloane of Moses Lake, Wash.; four stepchildren; five grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4873 Cleveland Road, Wooster. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster.
