OKEECHOBEE, Fla. -- C. Virginia (Wenger) Royer, 82, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of Orrville, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., of complications from open-heart surgery. Memorial services have been held in Florida. Burial will be in Ontario, Canada. There will be no local services. Memorial contributions may be made to Orrville Public Library. She was born in 1917 in Orrville to John M. and Lena (Hahn) Wenger and married William Royer. He died previously and was also formerly of Orrville. Surviving are a son, Joel Royer and his wife, Pat, of Millerton, Pa.; a granddaughter; a sister, Dorothe McDowell of Melbourne, Fla.; and a niece and nephew.

Mary Miller
DOYLESTOWN -- Mary L. Miller, 69, of Doylestown, died Monday, May 24, 1999. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with Father David McCarthy as celebrant. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown 44230. She was born July 24, 1929 in Doylestown to August and Oliva (Vetter) Lindeman and married Duane Miller July 27, 1947. He survives. Other survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Becky Miller of Canal Fulton, Rick and Sue Miller and Bob and Linda Miller, all of Doylestown; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Larry Villers of Doylestown; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Jim Stauffer of Bradenton, Fla., and Joanne and Harry Lepley of Doylestown; a brother, Robert Lindeman and his wife, Phyllis, of Norton; and a sister-in-law, Kay Villers of Doylestown.

Rachel Morrison
WOOSTER -- Rachel C. Morrison, 82, formerly of Wooster, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Meadowville Care Center in Seville. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt St., Mount Morris, Ill., where friends may call Friday from 7-8 p.m. The Rev. Richard G. Bright will officiate. Burial will be at Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery in Pecatonica, Ill. Local arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster. Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691. She was born Dec. 13, 1916 in Orangeville, Ill., to Steven and Fern (Clarno) Likens and married Glenwood B. Morrison on March 23, 1935. He died in February of 1977. Surviving are a son, Max Morrison of Wooster; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Zimmerman of Appleton, Wis.

WOOSTER -- John Ronald Crawford, 91, formerly of Wooster, died Monday evening, May 24, 1999, at Village Care Center in Galion. Graveside services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Bellville Cemetery, with Neil Gilliland officiating. There will be no calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, is handling arrangements. He was born Dec. 17, 1907 in Perrysville to John B. and Belva (Remington) Crawford and married Elnor Darby on April 27, 1933. She died March 26, 1990. Surviving are children and their spouses, Nora and William Houghton of Nokomis, Fla., Belva D. and Richard St. Clair of Galion, Joyce L. and Alan Daugherty of Mansfield, John P. and Ellen Crawford and David R. and Dianna Crawford, all of Phoenix, Ariz., Ronald T. and Lana Crawford of Johnsville, and Helen L. and David Donno of Chandlier, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Helga Crawford of Phoenix, Ariz.; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Catherine Hayward of Mansfield.

RITTMAN -- Dorothy R. "Dottie" Laurila, 68, 55 Bradley St., died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with Thomas P. Ledford officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. She was born Feb. 21, 1931 in Warren, Ind., to Howard and Mary (Bonham) Shafer and married Harold Laurila. He survives. Other survivors include children, David Laurila and his wife, Valerie, of Sterling, Mrs. Justin (M. Elaine) Ryan of Lexington, Ky., and Mrs. Jay (Cathy) Kelker of Wadsworth; nine grandchildren; and brothers, Dean Shafer of Warren, Ind., and Louis Shafer of Bluffton, Ind.

WOOSTER -- Ellsworth E. "Benny" Bentz, 83, of Wooster, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at his residence. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Floyd Koenig officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691. He was born July 31, 1915 in Trail to John and Iva Mae (Davis) Bentz and married Iva Mae Hoffman on Feb. 8, 1964. She survives. Other survivors include children and their spouses, Kevin and Mary Bentz of Wooster and Diane and Edward Downet of Quincy, Ill.; grandchildren, Cynthia Shoemaker and Wendy Auston, both of Illinois, Robin Fiscus of Washington, Ana and Chelsey Bentz and April Williams, all of Wooster; great-grandchildren, Britteny Auston and Jacob Bradley, both of Illinois; brothers, Henry Bentz of Wooster, Melvin Bentz of Massillon and Dan Bentz of Lancaster; and a sister, Mrs. James (Irma) Dilyard of Wooster.

BALTIC -- Sarah J. Schlarb Brinkman, 71, 306 S. Ray St., died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, after an extended illness. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. David Hammel officiating. Burial will be at Fiat Cemetery. Friends may call tonight (Monday) from 6-8 at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to Country Roads Home Care, in care of Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg. She was born Sept. 1, 1927 in Sugarcreek to Clarence and Edith (Ridgeway) Kinsey and married Weldon Schlarb. He died in 1982. On July 3, 1986, she married Ron Brinkman. He survives. Other survivors include sons, Jeff Schlarb and Greg Schlarb and his wife, Shelba, all of Baltic; stepsons and their wives, Randy and Julie Brinkman of New Philadelphia and Michael and Kristen Brinkman of Port Clinton; two granddaughters; four step-grandchildren; brothers, Dean Kinsey of Baltic, Richard and Ralph Kinsey, both of New Philadelphia, Dave Kinsey of Millersburg and Dan Kinsey of Newcomerstown; and sisters, Grace Ebert of Coshocton, Mrs. Carl (Shirley) Gilmor and Mrs. Virgil (Carol) Plants, both of Gnadenhutten.

James Finnipot
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Local memorial services for James Reed Finnipot, 45, of Evanston, Ill., will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at The Freedlander Theater, 329 E. University St., Wooster. He died Wednesday, May 12, 1999.

Ada Miller
SHREVE -- Ada M. Miller, 95, formerly of 301 Jones St., died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at West View Manor Nursing Home, Wooster. Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Bigelow United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call tonight (Monday) from 6-9 at Johnston-Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, where an Eastern Star service will be conducted at 9. The family suggests contributions be made to Bigelow United Methodist Church, in care of Randy Weaver, 8709 Township Road 1056, Lakeville 44638. She was born Nov. 21, 1903, in Ripley Township to James and Ardella (Franks) Tate and married Albert J. Miller in 1922. He died Nov. 1, 1971. Surviving are sons and their wives, Harold D. and Nina Miller and Kenneth R. and Lois Miller, all of Shreve; grandchildren, Janie and Ron Grosjean of Wooster and their children, Lindy and Bryan Chandler and Brandon Grosjean; Jerri Lynn and Sandy Baxstrom of Wooster and their children, Jay and Jordan Vincent; Jack and Deb Miller of Wooster and their children, Kirk, Brooks and Jordan Miller; Larry D. Cosby Adams
RITTMAN -- Cosby Adams, 86, formerly of North Main Street, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at Altercare in Wadsworth. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with the Rev. James R. McComas officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. She was born June 15, 1912 in Wayne County, W.Va., to James and Ethel (Lycans) Staley and married Ross Adams. He died previously. Surviving are sons, Darrell Adams of Akron and Bobby Adams of Plain City; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Shamp of Smithville, Lola Walker of Rittman and Lena Murray of Wadsworth.

BARBERTON -- Charles A. "Art" Hall, 77, 1019 Wilbur Ave., died Friday night, May 21, 1999, at his residence. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sterling, with the Rev. Fay A. Botten officiating. There will be no calling hours. Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Sterling United Methodist Church, 13486 Kauffman Ave., Sterling 44276. He was born Sept. 20, 1921 in Coshocton and was married to Alice M. Hall. She died March 3, 1999. Surviving are a brother, Homer Hall of Coshocton; sisters, Virginia Arnos of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Josephine Barr of Parma; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Renner and his wife, Bessie, of Rittman.

MILLERSBURG -- Loil W. Brown, 83, 4654 U.S. 62, died Friday evening, May 21, 1999, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, after a short illness. Memorial services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church of Millersburg, with the Rev. Kenneth Walther officiating. Private burial will be Monday at Berlin Cemetery. Friends may call today (Sunday) from 2-4 at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. The family suggests contributions be made to St. John's Church of Millersburg, 8670 State Route 39, Millersburg 44654. He was born May 20, 1916 in Holmes County to Fred and Mizzie Brown and married Shirley Bretzius on Sept. 29, 1940. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Mrs. Ted (Karen) McCoy of Sugarcreek and Mrs. Patrick J. (Beverly) McCarren of Columbus; and four grandchildren.

ORRVILLE -- Michael A. "Mike" Carr, 17, 1435 Country Lane, died Wednesday evening, May 19, 1999, near Orrville, from injuries sustained in a pickup truck accident. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. Robert Mohler officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. Friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Orrville Area Boys & Girls Club Endowment Fund, 820 N. Ella St., P.O. Box 17, Orrville 44667. Surviving are his parents, Gary and Patricia Carr of Orrville and his biological father, Richard Kendall and his wife, Melody, of Rittman; stepbrothers, Jeff and Jason Carr of Norton; a half-brother, Trevor Kendall, and a half-sister, Jackie Kendall, both of Rittman; maternal grandparents, Hugo and Lois Gingrich of Orrville; paternal grandparents, Robert and Ellen Marie Carr of Akron, Dale and Francis Kendall of Orrville and William and Roberta McKinstry of Shreve; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Leah Headley of Orrville.

ORRVILLE -- Evelyn M. Geiser, 83, 333 E. Sassafras St., died Wednesday evening, May 19, 1999, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, after a period of declining health. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Orrville, with the Rev. Ramsey Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Martins Mennonite Church Cemetery near Orrville. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Auble Funeral Home in Orrville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691. Surviving are cousins who were reared by her parents, Bennet W. Geiser and his wife, Grace, of Orrville and June Motter of Piqua; and numerous other cousins.

MILLERSBURG -- Jonas A. "June" Weaver, 74, 4442 U.S. 62, died this morning, May 21, 1999, at his home after a three-week illness. Services will be Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Syl Schlabach residence, with Bishop John Beachy officiating. Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Berlin Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Schlabach residence. Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton. He was born Feb. 13, 1925 near Millersburg to Andy and Lovina (Gingerich) Weaver and married Betty Yoder on Nov. 14, 1946. She survives. Other survivors include children and their spouses, Wayne and Fannie Weaver and Erma and Mose Keim, all of Apple Creek, Sara and Syl Schlabach and Fanny and Robert Kurtz, all of Millersburg, Roy and Erma Weaver of Fredericksburg and Freda and Joe Nisley of Dundee; 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Andy Weaver Jr. of Millersburg; sisters, Mrs. Jacob E. (Verna) Miller and Mrs. Joe D. (Erma) Hershberger of Millersburg; a stepbrother, David Schlabach of Wisconsin; stepsisters, Mrs. Ezra Y. (Effie) Miller and Mrs. Andy (Fannie) Yoder, both of Millersburg and Mrs. Elmer (Erma) Miller of Fredericksburg.

Helen Wengerd
ERIE, Pa. -- Graveside services for Helen Wengerd, 75, formerly of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Erie, Pa., were held Saturday, May 15, in Erie, Pa. Memorial services were also held in Florida following her death on Jan. 26, 1999. Surviving are her husband, Wilmer W. Wengerd, formerly of Millersburg; two daughters; stepchildren, Janet Winterringer of Holmesville and Lynn Wengerd of Sarasota, Fla.; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
