MOUNT HOPE -- Solomon M. Yoder, 90, of Mount Hope, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Ben Coblentz residence, 7089 County Road 201, Millersburg, after a brief illness. Services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the Dan S. Yoder residence, 7728 County Road 77, Mount Hope, with Bishop Levi M. Troyer officiating. Burial will be at the Yoder Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Ervin Yoder Jr. residence, 7778 County Road 77, Mount Hope. Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton. He was born Feb. 28, 1908 near Mount Hope to Michael E. and Mary Ann (Schlabach) Yoder and married Ada Mast on Dec. 9, 1937. She died Jan. 24, 1996. Surviving are children, Mrs. William (Fannie) Bontrager, Mrs. Ben (Arie) Coblentz and Dan S. Yoder, all of Millersburg, Mrs. Roy D. (Emma) Yoder of Fredericksburg, Michael S. Yoder of Berlin and Ervin S. Yoder of Mount Hope; 39 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Andy M. Yoder of Holmesville and Dan M. Yoder of Fredericksburg; and sisters, Mrs. Albert (Lydia Ann) Yoder and Fannie Miller, both of Fredericksburg, Dora Weaver of Danville and Effie Yoder of Mount Hope.

ORRVILLE -- A. LaVonne "Honey" Nussbaum, 72, 245 N. Crown Hill Road, Orrville, formerly of Buckeye Street, Dalton, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at her residence, after a 17-year illness. Services will be Friday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 18600 Davis Road, Dalton, with the Rev. Tim Hull officiating. Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to the services. Arrangements are being handled by Auble Funeral Home in Orrville. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Community Church, 18600 Davis Road, Dalton 44618. She was born Dec. 30, 1926 in Orrville to John and Rosa (Butzer) Yungen and married R. Dean Nussbaum on Jan. 30, 1943 in North Lawrence. He died April 20, 1993. Surviving are children, LaDeane and Jerry Knapp of Apple Creek, Randy and Corienne Nussbaum of Dalton, Nevin and Kathy Nussbaum and Kathy and Tom Hile, all of Orrville, Wes and Donna Nussbaum of Greensboro, N.C., and Robbie Nussbaum and Colin Cruise of Wooster; grandchildren, Shelley Adams (Alan) Merriman, Jon (Jamie) Hile, Michele Nussbaum (Steve) Carathers, Tricia, Jenny and Brent Nussbaum; great grandchildren, Micajah and Morgan Merriman and Alexis Wilson; brothers, John Junior (Lucille) Yungen of Venice, Fla., and Volney (Rosemary) Yungen of Orrville; sisters, Katharine Yungen of Wooster, Luella Fulton of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ida Woodward of Wooster; sisters-in-law, Ada Yungen and Marilyn Nussbaum, both of Dalton and Letha Nussbaum of Massillon; brothers-in-law, Eldon (Mary) Nussbaum of Dalton and Harold Yoder of Canby, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

DOYLESTOWN -- Carola M. Wright, 90, of Doylestown, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Ridgewood Place. Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Doylestown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. David Tennant officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Doylestown United Methodist Church. Carola M. Wright was born Oct. 23, 1908 in Grampian, Pa., to Stanley F. and Florence (Jordan) Orcutt and married Seth Wright. He died previously. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gary Fleming of Doylestown; grandchildren, Louann (Glenn) Smith of Doylestown, Cathy (Norman) Carpenter of Orrville, Seth Fleming (Leighann Mitchell) of Doylestown and Gary (Cheryl) Fleming Jr. of Akron; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Seth, Joe, Mallory, Jase, Sara, Phillip, Katie and Leah.

Leah McNutt
WOOSTER -- Memorial services for Leah Jane McNutt, 93, of Wooster, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at McGaw Chapel at The College of Wooster. The Rev. Carroll Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery. She died Thursday, Dec. 11.

Wynona Franks
WOOSTER -- Wynona C. "Nonie" Franks, 64, 5430 Mechanicsburg Road, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 6, 1999, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Bob Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Reedsburg Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Ohio Affiliate Inc., 937 N. High St., Worthington 43085; American Heart Association, Canton Metro Office, 4916 Hills and Dales Road, NW, Canton 44708; or Head Start of Community Action Wayne/Medina Administrative Office, Suite B, 2375 Benden Drive, Wooster 44691. She was born Sept. 24, 1934 in Doylestown to Richard R. and Verda C. (Miller) Pfouts and married Howard R. Franks on Dec. 21, 1952 in Akron. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband, are children, Russell R. (Jill) Franks of Muskegon, Mich., Dennis D. (Cheryl) Franks of Shreve, Douglas D. (Candy) Franks and Lisa L. (Gary R.) Siller, both of Wooster; 12 grandchildren; her mother; and a sister, Fonda J. (Roy) Schlegel of Shreve.

Stella Schwenk
WOOSTER -- Stella E. Schwenk, 80, Karrington Place, 1615 Cleveland Road, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 5, 1999, at Horn Nursing Center, after a long illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Berea. Burial of the cremains will be at Lakewood Park Cemetery, Rocky River at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Custer Funeral Home, Wooster. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Horn Nursing Center, 230 N. Market St., Wooster; Karrington Place of Wooster, 1615 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691; or to the Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Ave., Cleveland 44113. She was born Jan. 14, 1918 in Baltimore, Md., to Samuel and Stella (Schueltz) McCarty and married William A. Rudnickas. He died previously. She then married Martin E. Schwenk on Aug. 28, 1948 in Cleveland. He died in 1988. Surviving are children, William Rudnickas of Olmsted Township, Robert H. (Pat) Schwenk of Port Clinton and Marty (Kenneth) Schatmeyer of Wooster; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Albert, Elisabeth, Michael, William Jr., Katie and Brian; great-grandchildren, Claire, Meredith, Amanda and Allison; and a brother, William McCarty of Hemet, Calif.

Jack Crush
MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Jack Crush, 70, of Manchester, N.H., died Sunday, Jan. 3, at Optima Health-Elliot in Manchester. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Merrimack St., Manchester, N.H. 03101. He was born March 28, 1928 in Burbank to Donald and Beatrice (White) Crush and was married to Susan (Via) Crush. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Brian J. and Jonathan I. Crush, both of South Boston, Mass., William N. Crush of Ohio and Timothy R. Crush of California; a stepson, Aureus V. Humboldt of Manchester, N.Y.; six grandchildren; his mother, a brother, Douglas Crush and a sister, Margaret LeMar, all of Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clarke Robey
WOOSTER -- Clarke L. Robey, 79, 2579 Windsor Drive, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, at West View Manor Nursing Home. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. J. William Lofgren officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. He was born June 21, 1919 in Akron to Earl D. and Mary Edna (Lucas) Robey and married Bernice Husher on June 5, 1946. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, John S. Robey of Wooster and Paul D. Robey of Orrville.

Virginia Hunterk
ASHLAND -- Virginia P. (Walmer) Hunter, 78, of Center Lane Drive, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 5, 1999, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home after a long illness. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, with the Rev. Jack Barker officiating. Burial will be at Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy & Marine Mothers Club of Ashland. She was born May 1, 1920 in Wayne County to Floyd H. and Edith Ann (Conkle) Walmer and married Wayne J. Hunter on May 1, 1942. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Dale E. Hunter of Woodbridge, Va., and Carol Ann (John) Barr of Ashland; grandchildren, Christyna Hunter and Angela Barr; a sister, Dorothy (Clifford) Noble of Warren; and a brother, Dr. Harry E. Walmer of Greenville, S.C.

William Martin
SHREVE -- William D. Martin, 92, of Shreve, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, at his residence. All services will be held in Denver, Colo. Local arrangements are being handled by Waite & Son Funeral Home in Medina. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691. He had been a mason, and is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Martin; children, Carl and Don Martin and Lola Hopper; stepchildren, Ruby Case, Mary Lou Porter, William and Norman Higgins; and a sister, Macle Epperson.

Dorothy Staley
ORRVILLE -- Dorothy M. Staley, 53, 4968 Mount Eaton Road, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 6, at her residence after a long illness. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. Don Samples officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born March 15, 1945 in Spencer to Harold Paul and Bertha (Farr) Easterday and married Bennie L. Staley on Dec. 7, 1963 in Rittman. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are sons, Joe Staley of Kidron and John Staley of Orrville; two grandchildren; her stepmother, Bertha (Bess) Easterday; brothers, Carl and Paul Easterday of Spencer, Lyle Easterday of Jeromesville and Wayne Easterday of Shelby; sisters, Carol Lundell of Ashland and Ellie Kurczweil of Chatam; and many nieces and nephews.

Lynn Foster
NAVARRE -- Lynn M. Foster, 47, of Navarre, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 6, at his residence after an extended illness. He was the brother of Mrs. Doyle (Pat) Matter of Mount Eaton. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster, with the Rev. R. Langley Collins officiating. Burial will be at East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 107 6th St., SW, Massillon 44647. He was born Oct. 29, 1951 in Massillon to Floyd and Florence (Myers) Foster and married Leslie D. Freed on Sept. 20, 1980. He survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Terin and Cody, both of the home; his mother of Navarre; and another sister, Mrs. Donald (Kay) Shaffer of Canton.

Vina Byers
WOOSTER -- Vina L. Byers, 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Horn Nursing Center, Wooster. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Ivy Covered Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with Pastor David Hohlbaugh officiating. There will be no calling hours. Hahn Funeral Home in Barberton is handling arrangements. Surviving are grandchildren, Donetta (Marvin) Troyer of Shreve, Bill (Joyce) Hinson of Virginia Beach, Va., Earl (Cheryl) Hinson of Barberton and Ken (Sue) Mullett of Uniontown; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Mosley of Tennessee.

L. James Snively
MASSILLON -- Dr. L. James Snively, 85, of Massillon, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 5, at Laurels of Massillon, after a lengthy illness. Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon, with the Revs. Bill and Ann Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 6-8 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 47-2nd St., NE, Massillon; or to the Salvation Army, 143-1st St., SE, Massillon 44646. He was born Dec. 18, 1913 in West Lebanon to Dr. John and Cora (Morgan) Snively and was married to Jane R. Snively. She died in 1987. He then married Maria H. Henley. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, James D. Snively of Massillon, Joseph H. Snively of Sanibel, Fla., and Timothy J. Snively of Columbus; four stepchildren; four grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a sister, Anna Wainger of Tucson, Ariz.

Jeremy Davis
HOLLY RIDGE, N.C. -- Jeremy S. Davis, 26, of Holly Ridge, N.C., died Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Greenville Hospital in North Carolina, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in December. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with the Rev. Donald Ressecker officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Surviving are his wife, Mindy Davis of Wadsworth; a son, Mike of Wadsworth; his father of Wadsworth; his mother of Doylestown; sisters, Stephanie and Christina Davis, both of Wadsworth; and grandparents, Merle and Patty Burkhart of Rittman, Mike and Jan Kupar of Norton, and Roscoe and Ernestine Bishop of Norton.

Kathleen Musselman
WOOSTER -- Kathleen Musselman, 73, 1685 Hickory Lane, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Nathan Ward officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-8 at the funeral home. She was born Oct. 14, 1925 in Waynesburg, Pa., to Jacob and Cora (Hamilton) Fordyce and married Ralph Musselman on May 8, 1946. He died in 1988. Surviving are children, Larry Musselman and Shirley (John) Flanagan, both of Wooster; a granddaughter; and sisters, Aldene Yokoyama of Largo, Fla., and Margaret (C. Burgess) Daugherty of Wooster.

Mary Henley
LOUDONVILLE -- Mary D. Henley, 81, 303 S. Wood St., died Thursday morning, Jan. 7, at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Loudonville, with the Rev. John Mueller officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The rosary will be recited tonight (Friday) at 7:30 at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville. The family requests contributions be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio Inc., 1605 County Road 1095, Ashland 44805; or to Loudonville Fire Department, 200 N. Market St., Loudonville 44842. She was born Aug. 4, 1917 in Loudonville to Thomas and Sarah (Derr) Allerding and married Paul B. Henley on Sept. 9, 1938. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Joey Edwards and Chris (Jim) Gloyd, both of Columbus and Paula Bush of Loudonville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Beal
MANSFIELD -- Mary E. McFerren Beal, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 7, at Woodlawn Nursing Home, after a brief illness. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Finefrock-Williams Funeral Home, 350 Marion Ave., Mansfield, with the Rev. Cloyd Kress officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, where Ruth Chapter 17 of the Order of Eastern Star will conduct services at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Health System Hospice, 335 Glessner Ave., Mansfield 44903. Surviving are a son, Louie (Susanne) Beal of Mansfield; two grandchildren; a sister, Geneva St. John of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husbands, Louis M. McFerren and Kenneth L. Beal, six brothers and two sisters died previously.

Kenneth Welsh
CHATHAM -- Kenneth G. "Kenny" Welsh, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at his home after a long fight with cancer. Services will be Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2:30 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with the Rev. Keith Bohley of Fredericktown officiating. Burial will be at Chatham Cemetery. Friends may call 1 1/2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court St., Medina; or Chatham Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6892, 6299 Avon Lake Road, Medina 44256. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Colleen (Grim) Welsh; children, Dana A. Welsh of Chatham and Linda Jo (the Rev. Keith) Bohley of Fredericktown; grandsons, Jason and James Bohley, both of Wooster and Jonathan and Jared Bohley, both of Fredericktown; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed.

Connell Wilson Jr.
MILLERSBURG -- Connell Poling Wilson Jr., 77, of Millersburg, died Thursday evening, Jan. 7, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. He was born June 24, 1921 in Wilmington to Connell and Inez (Ridgeway) Wilson Sr. and married Marie Tubero. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Ellen (Jeff) Pallotta and Elaine Ayres, and two grandsons.
