HAYESVILLE -- George E. Garn, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland. Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, with Roger Jones officiating. Burial will be at Reedsburg Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to River Crossing Assisted Living Facility, 1117 Township Road 2075, Ashland 44805. He was born Oct. 26, 1908 in Ashland County to Harvey and Ada Florence (Johnson) Garn and married Arlene Munson. She died Nov. 7, 1938. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ada Sue and Gerald Workman of Hayesville and a son and daughter-in-law, Donald L. and Joyce Garn of Ocala, Fla.; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Oda M. Goard of Ashland.

James Hanna
ASHLAND -- James B. Hanna, 85, 1728 County Road 995, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at his residence. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, with the Revs. Sanford Mitchell and Joseph Graham officiating. Burial will be at Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio Inc., 1605 County Road 1095, Ashland 44805; or to Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland. He was born Feb. 2, 1914 in Crawford County to Charles and Jeanette (Carothers) Hanna and married Thelma Shenberger on April 12, 1936. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children and their spouses, Laura and Daryl Stoner of Loudonville, Sharon and Duane Baum of Ashland, Debra and Martin Keets of Jeromesville, Sue Griffin of Nova and James and Jean Hanna of Wellington; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Conrad
STERLING -- Kenneth F. Conrad, 82, formerly of the Sterling area, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Morning View Nursing Home near Danville. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Guy Buch officiating. Burial will be at East Chippewa Cemetery, Orrville. Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Fellowship at East Chippewa Church; or to Smithville Historical Society. He was born April 14, 1916 in Sterling to Samuel E. and Mary (Wirth) Conrad and married Alta Hartzler on Aug. 8, 1942. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children and their spouses, Harmon and Judy Conrad of West Liberty, Paul and Ruth Conrad of Millersburg, Mary Jo and Robert Wittel of Danville and Ann and David Moore of Fletcher; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Allen of Eau Claire, Wis.

John Hostettler
WOOSTER -- John G. Hostettler, 80, 3360 Lakeview Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at his home. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. James Watt officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was born Jan. 29, 1919 in Holmes County to Carl and Garnet (Wachtel) Hostettler and married E. Marie Franks on Oct. 19, 1941. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, John C. Hostettler and wife, Karen, Judy L. Hudgins and Danny Hostettler and wife, Judy, all of Wooster; grandchildren, Johneen Gordon, Jolene Hostettler, Deana and Jamie Hudgins, Matt, Audrey Beth and Adam Hostettler; great-grandchildren, Johna and Erin Gordon; a brother, Guy W. Miriam Kimbrel
BUCYRUS -- Miriam Cramer Kimbrel, 74, 3909 Stetzer Road, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at her home from cancer. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus, with the Rev. Larry Oxendine and Tom Lemmen officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Loudonville. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society; or to Whetstone Baptist Church in care of the funeral home. Surviving are children, Steve Cramer and Cherie Young and husband, Alan, all of Bucyrus; four grandchildren; and a brother, William Hartshorne of Loudonville. Her first husband, Willis Boyd Cramer, died in 1958..

Laurence Frederick
KANE, Pa. -- Laurence R. "Larry" Frederick, 90, 22 Tionesta Ave., died Sunday morning, Feb. 14, 1999, at Kane Community Hospital. He was the father of A. Elaine Hess, and husband, Ted, of Wooster. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church Chapel in Kane, Pa., with the Rev. Rodney Smith officiating. Burial will be at Roundtop Cemetery in Trade City, Pa. Friends may call today (Monday) from 7-9 at Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, 103 S. Fraley St., Kane, Pa., where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Kane, Pa. He was born Dec. 9, 1908 in Port Huron, Mich., to S. Burton and M. Perle (Heitzenrater) Frederick and married Olive M. VanHorn on May 25, 1932 in Dayton, Pa. She survives. Surviving in addition to his daughter, are another daughter, Nancy Lee Barr and husband, William, of Kane, Pa., and a son, S. Laurence Frederick and wife, Vonnie, of New Bloomfield, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, George Frederick of Dayton, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Ella Miller
HOLMESVILLE -- Ella R. Miller, 78, 8159 Township Road 565, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, after a period of declining health. Services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with minister Crist Wengerd officiating. Burial will be at Hershberger Cemetery, Holmesville. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, is handling arrangements. She was born Aug. 1, 1920 in Holmes County to Andy P. and Lovina (Gingerich) Weaver and married Bishop Reuben R. Miller on Jan. 30, 1941. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband, are children, Ben R. and Atlee R. Miller and Mrs. Jacob (Katie) Troyer, all of Holmesville, Henry R. Miller of Fredericksburg, Andy R. Miller, Reuben R. Miller Jr. and Mrs. Eli (Mattie) Stutzman, all of Millersburg and Mrs. Fred (Lovina) Hershberger of Apple Creek; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jonas A. and Andy R. Weaver, both of Millersburg; sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Verna) Miller and Mrs. Joe B. (Erma) Hershberger, both of Millersburg; stepbrothers, David Schlabach of Wisconsin, and Alvin Schlabach of Millersburg; and stepsisters, Mrs. Ezra (Effie) Miller and Mrs. Andy C. (Fannie) Yoder, both of Millersburg and Mrs. Elmer (Erma) Miller of Fredericksburg.

RITTMAN -- V. Myrle Rufener, 95, formerly of Greenwood Avenue, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at the Apostolic Christian Home. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Rittman Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Surviving are a son, James Miller of Rittman and a daughter, Jeanette Schaefer and husband, Mel, of Willoughby Hills; stepchildren and their spouses, Orin and Anna Rufener, Chester and Roma Rufener, Elton and Velma Rufener, Isaac and Verna Rufener, Carol and Everett Beery and Helen Maibach, all of Rittman, Joseph and Lilas Rufener of Smithville, Glen and Beverly Rufener of Doylestown and Elizabeth and Glenn Gasser of Creston; eight grandchildren; 37 step-grandchildren; more than 100 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Queen and Helen Kerstetter, both of Rittman and Blanche Garver of Baltic. Her husbands, Alexander Miller and Isaac Rufener Sr., died previously.

Quimby Felton Jr.
KILLBUCK -- Quimby Felton Jr., 65, of Killbuck, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 17, 1999, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Dale Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to American Heart Association, 264 S. Clay St., Millersburg 44654. He was born May 6, 1933 in Coshocton to Quimby Barnes and Juanita (Jennings) Felton Sr. and married Grace Renner on Feb. 13, 1953. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Jim Felton of Blissfield, Rick Felton and Susan Felton, both of Killbuck and Quimby Felton III of Millersburg; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Hilda Pappas of Zanesville; and a brother, Wallace Eugene Felton of Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Deborah Troyer
SUGARCREEK -- Deborah Troyer, 31, 10701 Miller Road, SW, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at New York Presbyterian Hospital, after a brief illness. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Miller officiating. Burial will be at Light in the Valley Cemetery near Walnut Creek. Friends may call Friday from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek. She was born March 25, 1967 in Millersburg to Atlee and Fannie (Stutzman) Yoder and married Martin Troyer on May 6, 1989. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Brianna of the home; her mother of Sugarcreek; brothers and their spouses, Merle and Wanda Yoder and Marvin and Brenda Yoder, all of Sugarcreek; and a grandmother, Sarah Stutzman of Millersburg.

Kathleen Williams
WARREN -- Kathleen Jane Williams, 52, a resident of Horizon Village Nursing Home in Warren, formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at the nursing home. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Jeff Graebing officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Surviving are sons, Christopher James Williams and wife, Rachel, of Wooster and Hans Shawn Williams and wife, Sheila, of Fredericksburg; and grandchildren, Andy, Adam, Todd, Kelsey, Courtney and Cody.

Milton Franks
MASSILLON -- Charles Milton Franks, 89, of Massillon, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, 1999, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after a long and happy life. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon, with the Rev. Randy Newcomer officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 6-9 at the funeral home,or one hour prior to the services. Surviving are his wife, Goldie Franks of the home; children, Doris Wolfrum of Germany, and Charles Franks of Dover; step-daughters, Deborah Snyder of Florida, Rebecca Brunner and Roberta McPherson, both of Canton; granddaughters, Misty Pifer, Deanna Durbin, Amanda Snyder and Mary Ann Forchione; grandsons, Bill, Jim and Bob Franks; a great-grandson, Cody Kling, and 12 other great-grandchildren; and a brother, Elmer Franks of Wooster.

William Phillips
PHOENIX, Ariz. -- William David Phillips, 72, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Rittman, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999. Memorial services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix, Ariz. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 12211 W. Bell Road 102, Surprise, Ariz. 85374; or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Surviving are his wife, Marcella Phillips; daughters, Constance Sue Richmond, Cheryl C. Rechenmacher and Vicky Lee Lane, all of Arizona; two grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Vaughn of Bellville.

Deborah Beachy
BRINKHAVEN -- Deborah Beachy, 28-month-old daughter of Ben and Miriam (Yutzy) Beachy, 33577 State Route 206, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron. Services will be Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Beachy Woodworking, 14290 County Road 75, Brinkhaven, with Bishop Clarence Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Mast Cemetery, Richland Township. Friends may call anytime tonight (Friday) or Saturday at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Surviving in addition to her parents are by a brother, Edward B. of the home; maternal grandparents, Martin L. and Edna Yutzy of Dundee; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Beachy of Millersburg; and maternal great-grandmother, Emma Miller of Millersburg.

Emma Yoder
WALNUT CREEK -- Emma J. Yoder, 89, of Walnut Creek, formerly of Berlin, died Thursday evening, Feb. 18, 1999, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home, after an extended illness. Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Martin's Creek Mennonite Church, Millersburg, with the Rev. Carl Wiebe officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 6-9 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. The family suggests contributions be made to Martin's Creek Mennonite Church, Millersburg. She was born Sept. 30, 1909 in Wayne County to Jonas and Katie (Miller) Coblentz and married Eli N. Yoder on Dec. 22, 1933. He died April 10, 1985. Surviving are children and their spouses, Betty and Ben Raber of Millersburg, Elsie and Fred Gingerich of Athabasca, Alberta, Canada, and Gene and Fern Yoder of Goshen, Ind.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Hochstetler of Sugarcreek.

Milton Falb
ORRVILLE -- Milton G. Falb, 86, formerly of Tannerville Road, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 17, 1999, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek. Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Martins Mennonite Church near Orrville, with the Revs. Randy Murray and Earl Sears officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 3-8 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Auble Funeral Home in Orrville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Development of Portuguese Sunday School Materials in Brazil, in care of Martins Mennonite Church, 14027 Church Road, Orrville 44667. He was born May 2, 1912 near Orrville, to David and Martha (Baumgartner) Falb and married Esther Beechy on Sept. 3, 1938 in Millersburg. She survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children and their spouses, Jane and Earl Sears of Newton, Kan., Betty and Otis Hochstetler of Conceicao, Brazil, Dean and Jan Falb and Dan and Pat Falb, all of Orrville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, George Falb and wife, Priscilla, of Dalton; and a sister, Irene Schloneger of Walnut Creek.

Mary Evans
NAVARRE -- Mary Evans, 79, of Navarre, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Altercare of Navarre, after a long illness. She was the stepmother of Rosalene Ickes and husband, Ralph, of Wooster. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Clement's Catholic Church in Navarre, with the Rev. Robert Gibas officiating. Burial will be at St. Clement's Parish Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Atkinson-Feucht-Shaidnagle Funeral Home in Navarre, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clement's Catholic Church, 216 Wooster St., Navarre 44662. She was born in Navarre to Frank L. and Donna (Cipriano) Paris and married Ronald W. Evans. He survives. Surviving in addition to her stepdaughter and husband, are two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. John (Celia) Mercer of Brewster; and brothers, Robert Paris of Massillon and Ben Paris of Columbus.

Jack Gibson
STRASBURG -- Jack E. Gibson, 73, 340 S. Bodmer, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in the emergency room at Union Hospital in Dover. He was the father of Bonnie Morton and husband, Peter, of Millersburg. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., Scio, with the Rev. Jonathan Butera officiating. Burial will be at Perrysville Cemetery. Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-9 at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services. Surviving in addition to his daughter, are his wife of 52 years, Virginia (Hilbert) Gibson; two other children and their spouses, Barry and Mary Gibson of Dover and Cindy and Darold Willis of Beach City; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Betty Gibson Custer of Scio.

Carl Henderson
MESA, Ariz. -- Carl Henderson, 73, of Good Shepherd Villa in Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Wooster, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, after an extended illness. A private family ceremony will be held at South Mountain near Phoenix, Ariz., by his request. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. After returning home, he married Helen Mae Starner on Dec. 24, 1946. They celebrated 51 years in 1997 and she died in June of 1998. Surviving are daughters, Susan Iannarelli of Wadsworth and Patricia Pearce of Gastonia, N.C.; and grandchildren, David and Daniel Burfield, both of Akron, Christopher and Amanda Pearce, both of Gastonia, N.C. In addition to his wife, his parents, and a brother, Richard, died previously.

Leona Miller
MANSFIELD -- Leona Miller, 72, of Millersburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital. She was the sister of Attlee Miller of Shreve. Services will be 1 p.m. on Monday at Werner Funeral Services, 175 W. Third Street, Mansfield. Burial will be at Mansfield Cemetery at a later time. She was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Paint Valley to Arley and Shirley (Schaaf) Miller.

Louisa Lehman
RITTMAN -- Louisa Ann Lehman, 36, of Rittman, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Hillcrest Chapel, 9560 Acme Road, Wadsworth, with the Rev. James Singleton officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 p.m. or one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne County Committee for Crippled Children, 215 S. Walnut St., Wooster, Ohio 44691, or Wayne County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, 266 Oldman Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691. She was born April 14, 1962 in Medina to Robert P. and Naomi R. (Wright) Lehman. Surviving in addition to her mother of Rittman, are brothers and sisters and their spouses, Donald (Linda) Lehman of Catskill, N.Y., Jack Lehman of N. Canton, Norma (Bill) Taylor of Massillon, and Linda (Edward) Young of Rittman, nephews and nieces, Brian, Jay, Kelly, Aric and Michelle Lehman, Robert and Jason Joy, Lisa Lycons, Jennifer Joy Saal, Jessica and Jennifer Young and many grandnieces and nephews.

Lillie Skinnell
WOOSTER -- Lillie Smith Skinnell, 91, of Wooster, Ohio, and formerly of Bedford, Va., died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999. She was born in Bedford County, Va., on July 23, 1907, a daughter of the late John Alexander Smith and Jennie Bell (White) Smith. She is survived by her son, C. Landon Skinnell and his wife, Marcella (Key) Skinnell of Wooster; two grandchildren, Michael Landon Skinnell and his wife, Jennifer of Herndon, Va. and Patricia (Skinnell) Musci and her husband, Gregory of Tallmadge, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Emily Skinnell, Brian Skinnell, Megan Musci and Christopher Musci. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999 at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. D. Glen Langston officiating. The family suggest those wishing to make memorials, consider Main Street United Methodist Church Building Fund, 212 E. Main Street, Bedford, Va. 24523. HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Selvia A. (Posey) Baron, 43, formerly of Wayne County, died Friday morning, Feb. 19, 1999, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, W.Va., from an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. John Boggs officiating, followed by burial at Apple Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Canton Metro Office, 4916 Hills and Dales Road, N. W. Canton, Ohio 44708. She was born July 23, 1955 in Orrville, Ohio to Leslie R. And Mary L. (Simons) Posey and had resided in Wayne County until 1988 before moving to Kentucky and Virginia. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Christopher L. and Matthew R. Baron, both of Hopkinsville, Ky. and a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Larry D. Jr. (Nichole L.) Dotson of Apple Creek, Ohio; a brother, Donnie (Robin) Posey of Milford, N.H.; two sisters, Mrs. Ken D. (Carolyn L.) Burns of Apple Creek and Mrs. Helen "Sis" Selders of Colorado Springs, Colo.; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Belvey Shepherd of Huntington, W.Va.
