SYCAMORE - Merle Beaston of rural Melmore, died at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Tiffin Mercy Hospital. He was 71. Arrangements are pending at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore.

Kathleen Fisher

DALLAS - Kathleen Fisher, 79, of Dallas, died at Baylor Hospital, Friday, May 28, 2004. Born in Upper Sandusky on Oct. 1, 1924, she was the daughter of George T. and Helen (Griffth) Denman. She married Carl F. Fisher on Dec. 18, 1948. He preceded her in death. Surviving are her mother in Upper Sandusky; a son, Kurt Fisher, Dallas; granddaughter, Sabrina Fisher, Dallas; and a brother, R. Joseph Denman, Harpster. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Thomas. Mrs. Fisher graduated from Oberlin College in 1946 and went to work for IBM as its first female instructor. After she and her husband retired to Dallas, she became a real estate broker and professional Realtor trainer. Most recently, Mrs. Fisher was the director of training and development for Uptown Realtors and Tony Curtis Realtors, both in Dallas. She was a member of First Community Church in Dallas, and served on its general board and played in the bell choir. Mrs. Fisher volunteered and held leadership positions in numerous organizations in Palos Verdes, Calif.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Austin, Texas; and Lake Forest, Ill. Services will be private. Grove Hill Funeral Home in Dallas is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to The National Kidney Foundation, 5429 LBJ Freeway, Suite 630, Dallas TX 75240.

Aloysius Jacoby

CAREY - The Rev. Aloysius Jacoby of the Conventual Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Consolation, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 8:50 a.m. at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community at the age of 83. Born in Carey on Nov. 7, 1920, he was a son of John and Selora (Brodman) Jacoby. Surviving are a sister, Henrietta Engle, Dayton; a brother, Eugene, Hamilton; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sister Mary Paul Jacoby. Rev. Aloysius had served in Holy Cross parish in Lansing, Mich., before going to Zambia, Africa, in 1960. There he ministered to the Luvale people at St. Kalemba Mission for 40 years. He returned to the United States in failing health in 2001. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Consolation Church in Carey. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, and for an hour before the service at the church Tuesday. The body will be transported to the motherhouse of the Province of Our Lady of Consolation at Mount St. Francis, Ind. A vigil service will be held there on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., and a funeral service on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Province of Our Lady of Consolation Cemetery at Mount St. Francis. Memorials may be made to the Zambian Missions in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.

Phillip Perkins

CAREY - Phillip E. "Philbilly" Perkins, 2986 Ohio 199, Carey, died at Wyandot Memorial Hospital at 1:26 a.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004. He was 51. Born in Paintsville, Ky., on June 22, 1952, he was a son of Dick and Edna (Conley) Perkins, and his mother survives. He married Donna Hewitt on May 1, 1971, in Findlay. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela Gay, Lima; and Carrie Vail, Oregon; two granddaughters, Bailey Jo "Punky" and Kendall Harlene "Peaches" Myers; a sister, Helen Nye, Carey; and two brothers, Johnny and Joey Perkins, Carey. A 1970 graduate of Carey High School, Mr. Perkins was a millwright with Union Local 1393 in Toledo for the past 19 years. He also was the manager of the Carey Conservation Club canteen. He was of Protestant faith. Mr. Perkins was a member of Carey Eagles Aerie No. 2198, Moose Lodge No. 1093 in Upper Sandusky, and the Fostoria Sportsman Association. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Bobby Turner officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wyandot County Heart Support Group or Hospice of Wyandot County in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.

Bernice Riedlinger

Bernice M. Riedlinger, 86, of 14919 CH 53, Upper Sandusky, died at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004. A daughter of Albert L. and Anna M. (Thiel) Snyder, she was born in Wyandot County on Feb. 17, 1918. She married Linus D. Riedlinger on Oct. 7, 1939, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kirby. He survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Janet Bright, Blythewood, S.C.; Doris Morton, Cordova, S.C.; and Carol Heileman, Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Kenneth, Upper Sandusky; and John, Carey; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Bash, Galion; and Viola Blackburn, Upper Sandusky; and two brothers, Justin and Ralph Snyder, Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Best; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Vincent, Alfred and James Snyder. Mrs. Riedlinger retired from Landmark Elevator in Kirby and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kirby. Mrs. Riedlinger was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Ohio Farm Bureau and the Wyandot County Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed canning, fishing, playing cards, crocheting, sewing, participating in several bowling leagues, visiting with family and friends, entertaining guests and spending winters in Titusville, Fla. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. A biblical prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Peter's Catholic School or the organization of the donor's choice in care of Bringman-Clark and Co. Joan Hensel

Joan M. Hensel, 11065 CH 121, Upper Sandusky, died at her residence at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004. She was 69. Born in Upper Sandusky on Feb. 21, 1935, she was a daughter of R.W. "Whitey" and Ova L. (Gemmrig) Gillen. She and Richard M. Hensel were married June 3, 1954, in Richmond, Ind. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Rogers, Upper Sandusky; a granddaughter, Sarah Rogers, Upper Sandusky; a sister, Jackie Walter, Upper Sandusky; three brothers, Fred and Richard Gillen, Upper Sandusky; and David Gillen, Galion; an uncle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Gillen; and two sisters, Sandra Gillen and Rosemary Welge. A 1953 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Mrs. Hensel graduated from Carnegie Tech Cleveland School of Nursing. She was a practical nurse and doctor's assistant in Cleveland for six years, and had been a nurse's aide at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community. She also was a homemaker and had worked at Mike's Drive-In. She was a member of First Lutheran Church for more than 50 years, serving funeral dinners for church members and working at church socials. Mrs. Hensel was a Red Cross swimming instructor, enjoyed watching her daughter and granddaughter participate in sports and music, working on her lawn, gardening, baking, cooking, watching TV, playing cards and attending family gatherings. She collected porcelain dolls. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Julianne Smith officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home and for an hour before the service at the church. Helen Tiell

Helen M. Tiell, 445 W. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, died at her daughter's residence at 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2004. She was 84. Born in Carey on Oct. 10, 1919, she was a daughter of Anthony F. and Lavina (Kirian) Lucius. She and Emery C. Tiell were married Oct. 8, 1937, in St. Peter's Catholic Church. He died July 24, 1996. Surviving are a son, Carl, Weston; two daughters, Carolyn Hehr, Upper Sandusky; and Sandra Tiell, Ewa, Hawaii; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and eight sisters, Mercedes Jones, Bloomville; Donna Toland, Martha Niederkohr, Bernadine Niederkohr, Carey; and Rosetta Arnold, Emma Reile, Erma Mays and Anna Carr, Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Frederick and Clarence; and two brothers, Carl and Clarence. Mrs. Tiell retired from the former Millington Plastics after 13 1/2 years as a group leader. She attended St. Peter's Catholic Church, and was a member of the ladies club of the church. Mrs. Tiell also was a member of the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild. She enjoyed traveling, collecting pig figurines, spoons, bells, baskets and miniature oil lamps, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. Friday. A biblical scripture service will be Friday at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Clara Cattran

Clara S. Cattran, 86, of Upper Sandusky, died at 11:48 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Marion General Hospital in Marion. A daughter of Sherman and Burdena (Lynn) Yarger, she was born in Phillipsburg on Sept. 13, 1917. She married Fred L. Cattran on Aug. 31, 1940, at Hope Lutheran Church in Cleveland. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Larry, Hollister, Calif.; three daughters, Roberta Luedke, Kent, Wash.; Diane Cattran-Fletcher, Columbus; Doris Hossalla, Georgetown, Texas; eight grandchildren, Lori Stocks, Lesa Boeck, Jennifer Luedke, Christopher Luedke, Kirstin Hossalla, Lara Hossalla, David Fletcher, Charles Fletcher; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frederick Yarger, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Luther Yarger, Ponta Verde, Fla.; and two sisters, Catherine Messersmith, Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Helen Stalter, Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond; and a sister, Esther Yarger. Mrs. Cattran was a homemaker and the cafeteria manager for South School in the Upper Sandusky school system. She had a business associate degree from Tiffin Business School. She had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1946, and had taught Sunday school and served as an officer in the Women of the Church. Mrs. Cattran was a member of the UpSan Mothers' League, and was a 4-H adviser for Snip 'n' Clip for 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, vegetable gardening and canning. She was interested in healthy food preparation and nutrition. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6-9 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home and for an hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Radio Fund or the organization of the donor's choice in care of Lucas Funeral Home, PO Box 207, Upper Sandusky OH 43351.

Leo Harper

MARION - Leo Charles Harper, formerly of Marion, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Fairhaven Retirement and Health Care Community at the age of 82. Born Sept. 2, 1921, in Marion, he was the son of George and Eva (Emery) Harper. On Jan. 22, 1955, in Fort Wayne, Ind., he married Evelyn G. Warner. She survives in Upper Sandusky. Also surviving are two daughters, Shelley Beidel-schies, Upper Sandusky; and Denise Helpman, Columbus; three grandchildren, Mark Beidelschies, Lonnie Helpman and Daniel Helpman; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Morgan, Gray, Tenn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Eugene; and a sister, Mary Melvena Ward. Mr. Harper retired from the Whirpool Corp., where he worked for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Harper enjoyed bowling and golfing, joining leagues in Marion and Upper Sandusky. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Boyd Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or the Debra McCallister Scholarship Fund in care of Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion OH 43302.

Ruby McComb

Ruby L. McComb, formerly of Upper Sandusky and more recently of Port Charlotte, Fla., died at Alterra Sterling House of Punta Gorda, Fla., at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004. She was 96. Born in Bucyrus on April 7, 1908, she was the daughter of John and Mabel (Kaler) Dirmeyer. She and Russell W. McComb were married on Feb. 4, 1940. He died June 3, 1986. Surviving are two stepgrandchildren, Connie and Jeffrey McComb, Cleveland. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Richard McComb; and a brother, Clifford Dirmeyer. Mrs. McComb was a homemaker. She attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte. Mrs. McComb was a past member of the Esther Circle and the Ohio Club, both in Port Charlotte. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, the Rev. Julianne Smith officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or Hospice of Southwest Florida in care of Bringman-Clark and Co. Wanda Mullholand

CAREY - Wanda Mullholand, formerly of Carey, died at 4:20 a.m. today at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 81. Arrangements are pending at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.

Maurice Might

SYCAMORE - Maurice R. "Boots" Might, 85 W. Jackson St. Box 176, McCutchenville, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2004, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. He was 91. Born in Fostoria on Aug. 6, 1912, he was the son of William S. and Bertha M. (Fishel) Might. He married Nora Bell DeTray on July 3, 1939, in Angola, Ind. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Snod-grass, rural Nevada; and Angela Sue Dunlap, McCut-chenville; a son, William, Sebring, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, several stepbrothers and stepsisters and three sisters, Doris Might, Marjorie Hiser and Wanda Swerlein. Mr. Might was a retired painter. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville. Mr. Might was a member of Wyandot Lodge No. 314 F&AM and William Myers Chapter No. 196 OES, both in McCutchenville, and of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo. The funeral will be private, with the Rev. Roy Howell officiating, and there will be no visitation. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery Maus-oleum. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville, McCutchenville Volunteer Fire Department or the organization of the donor's choice. Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore is handling arrangements.

Ricky Inman

FOREST - Ricky R. Inman, 205 N. Warner St., Forest, died at 5:40 a.m. June 11, 2004, at Medical College of Ohio Hospital in Toledo. He was 52. Born in Hardin County on Jan. 23, 1952, he was a son of Russell W. and Mary E. (Quail) Inman. Surviving are a cousin and sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Jacobs. Mr. Inman was a 1970 graduate of Riverdale High School. He was a dispatcher for the Forest Fire Department for more than 30 years, and also was a former dispatcher for the Forest Police Department. Graveside services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hueston Cemetery, Forest, with the Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Shields Funeral Home, Forest. Memorials may be made to the Forest-Jackson Fire Department or EMS.

Esther Lundberg

Esther E. Lundberg, 92, died at 5:25 a.m. this morning in the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bringman-Clark & Co. is handling funeral arrangements.

Cartha Kessler

CAREY - Cartha G. Kessler, formerly of rural Carey, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2004, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin. She was 89. Born May 28, 1915, in Crawford Township, she was a daughter of Alton and Olive (Starr) Phillips. She married Edward P. Kessler on Sept. 6, 1937, at Our Lady of Consolation Church in Carey. He died March 22, 1993. Surviving are four sons, Lawrence "Larry," Tiffin; James, New Riegel; Ralph, Carey; and Alfred, Findlay; two daughters, Janet Frankart, Bascom; and Theresa Lortz, Carey; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, three grandsons, four brothers, Frank, Ralph, Russell and Howard Phillips; and a sister, Martha Williams. Mrs. Kessler was a homemaker. She attended the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation. Mrs. Kessler was a member of the churchÕs Rosary Altar Society and the farm bureau. A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation with the Rev. Herbert Graf officiating. Burial will be in St. MaryÕs Cemetery, Carey. Visitation is at Stombaugh-Batton Funer-al Home, Carey, on Wednes-day from 2-8 p.m. A Scripture service will be at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home activity fund or the organization of the donorÕs choice.

Benjamin Kight

SYCAMORE - Benjamin Theodore Kight, formerly of Tiffin and more recently of Dayton, died at the Dayton VA Hospital on Monday, June 21, 2004. He was 97. A son of Boyken Perry and Sophronia C. (Musgrave) Kight, he was born in Harrisville, W.Va., on April 8, 1907. He and Addah Mae Boroff were married on Feb. 21, 1931, in Tiffin. She died April 6, 1999. Surviving are his goddaughter and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Kight retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, as an electrical supervisor after 26 years of service. He served in the 2nd Squadron of the U.S. Cavalry from 1923-26. He was drafted in the U.S. Air Force from 1943-46, and achieved the rank of sergeant. Mr. Kight was a member of Beaver Valley Lodge No. 753 F&AM in Beavercreek, Dayton American Legion Post No. 200, the Good Sam Club and was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Dayton. He enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and the Panama Canal. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore, with the Rev. Diane Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation is at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today and an hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donorÕs choice in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore OH 44882.

Clarence Schneider

BUCYRUS - Clarence Schneider, of rural Bloomville, died Tuesday morning at Altercare. He was 102. Born on Nov. 6, 1901, in Chatfield Township, he was a son of Daniel and Christina (Schimpf) Schneider. On Dec. 22, 1922, he married Elsie Karg. She died in 1973. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Goin, Chatfield; and Alice Odom, Nevada; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John; a brother, Ernest; and a grandson, Jonathan. Mr. Schneider was a lifelong farmer who worked and lived on the same farm he was born on. He attended College Hill School, and was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Christ in Christian Union on Kaler Avenue, with the Rev. Bob Jividen officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery. Visitation is at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home today from 6-8 p.m., and for an hour before the service Friday. Memorials may be made to the church in care of Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus OH 44820.
