Ruby Fine Richerson
Services for Ruby Fine Richerson, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Vaughn CroweTipton officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Richerson died Oct. 26, 1997, in Livingston, Texas, after an extended illness. She was born to Vinet and Lucinda Hughes Fine Sept. 17, 1907, at Mannsville, Indian Territory.
She was a founding member of Northwest Baptist Church. A licensed practical nurse, she was associated with Medical Arts Clinic prior to moving from Ardmore in 1968. She and Walter Richerson were married May 10, 1929, at Phoenix, Ariz. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1961. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, LaDell McClendon; and son, Burton.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Vann, Dallas, Shirley Rasor, Onalaska, Texas, and Jo King, Gainesville, Texas; two nephews, whom she reared, Jim Fine, Ardmore, and Bill Fine, Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Othel Newton, Elmo Cypert, Donnie Williams, Dennis Fine, Ben Richerson and Jim Fine.

Bessie Lee Blount
Graveside services for Bessie Lee Blount will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. H.H. Davis officiating.
Mrs. Blount died Oct. 31, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1909.
Mrs. Blount had lived in Ardmore most of her life. She attended CrystalRock Cathedral. Her husband, Ben Blount, preceded her in death in 1995. She was the daughter of the late Jeff and Mary Hartless.
She is survived by a son, Raymon Lee Blount of Edmond; daughter, Carol, and her husband, Jerry Greco, of Ardmore; sisters, Lois Langley of Clinton, and Evelyn Norris of Cordell; five grandchildren, Mark and his wife, Emillee Blount, Danny and his wife, Susan Blount; Julie and her husband, Kent Shenefield, Julene and her husband, Kirk Potter, Clay and his wife, Christie Greco; and nine great-grandchildren, Michelle, Amy, Meagan, Nathan, Cotey, Jared, Joseph, Jordan and Eligah.
Services are under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.

Verda Mae Box
HEALDTON -- Funeral services for Verda Mae Box, age 90, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Philip Fox will officiate with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.
Mrs. Box died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 28, 1997, in a Glenpool, Okla., health care facility.
Daughter of William and Maude Whitworth, she was born Aug. 14, 1907, at Kingston, Okla. Reared in Healdton, she was a graduate of Healdton High School and was married to Lewis Box on Dec. 20, 1931, in Marietta, Okla. After living in Texas a short time, they moved back to Healdton in 1933. Mr. Box preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Kenneth Keck, Jenks, Okla.; two grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law, Sherri Lynn Johnson, Jenks, and Steven and Lorisa Keck, Springfield, Mo.; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Johnson, Jenks.
Bearers will be Ken Allison, James King, Roy Barnes, Bill Craft, Harold Rozzell and Terry Rozzell. Honorary bearers are Arnold Cullifer, Ted Enos, Lavell Engle, Bear Stewart, Leon Ham and Bob Hutchins.
Reser Funeral Home will direct services.

Leroy LeForce
MARIETTA -- Funeral services for Leroy LeForce, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at First Christian Church with the Rev. Judy Gayler officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
LeForce passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1997, at his residence in Marietta after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 26, 1915, near Garber, Okla., to Milton and Annie Fortney LeForce.
Leroy attended Oklahoma A&M College (OSU) where he met the love of his life, his "Honey," Maidee Spencer. They were married on May 25, 1940, in Muskogee, Okla. He received his B.S. degree in animal science in 1939 and his master's in agriculture education. He was a vo-ag teacher for 25 years in Reydon, Coington and Chickasha. He taught elementary education for 12 years in Lawton, Okla., and Salem, Ore.
He was recognized as one of the top educators and teachers of young men in agriculture and had a major influence in their lives. He was a deacon at the First Christian Church in Chickasha and a deacon and elder at the First Christian Church in Marietta. He was a Rotarian in Chickasha and a member of the Lions Club in Marietta, as well as a member of the OSU Posse Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alta Hopson and Buleah Hall; and three brothers, Clyde, Lawrence and Loyd LeForce. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Cory LeForce and Jeremy Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maidee LeForce, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Gennie and Bob Johnson of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law, Spencer and Sharmin LeForce of Denton, Texas; a brother and his wife, Jack and Janice LeForce of Edmond, Okla.; sister, Velma Congdon of Garber, Okla.; six grandchildren, Brook Johnson of Tulsa, Brent Johnson of Oklahoma City, Melissa Johnson, Rachel Johnson and Wesley LeForce of Denton, Texas, Stacey Van Syoc of Medford, Ore.; two great-grandchildren, Kylee and Megan Van Syoc of Medford; 11 nephews; and eight nieces.
Pallbearers will be James Howard, George Wood, Curtis Cochran, Jack Weldon, Jackie Drennan and Sam Knight. Honorary pallbearers are Derek George, Jerry Cochran, Hank Gayler, Charles Hudson, Carl Cochran, R.A. Harper, George Harkey, Cleo Dupy and Clyde Cheatham.
Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice at 1514 Meadow Lane, Ardmore, Okla. 73401; or First Christian Church, 210 NW 3rd, Marietta, Okla. 73448.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.

Essie L. Beckham
Services for Essie Lee Beckham, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Charles Bigger officiating. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery.
Mrs. Beckham died Oct. 30, 1997, in the local hospital following a brief illness. She was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Delta County, Texas, to John and Alice Pollock Pruitt.
She had been a resident of Ardmore since 1956 and worked as a nurses aide. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She and W.R. "Buster" Beckham were married May 4, 1973, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1991.
She is survived by two sisters, Johnnie Mitchell, Newport, and Ethel A. Furney, Ardmore.
Bearers will be Paul Sampley, Jimmy Lindsey, John Allen, Bill Hammer, Marshall and Larry Mitchell.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

Bernice Anderson
SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for Bernice Anderson, 76, Norman, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Moody officiating.
Mrs. Anderson died Oct. 29, 1997, in Norman. She was born Feb. 7, 1921, at Maud, to Frank G. and Sallie Green Williams.
Reared in the Sulphur area, she graduated from Sulphur High School and attended The University of Oklahoma. She taught school several years.
Survivors include a son, Paul D. "Chip," Sherman, Texas; two brothers, Mace Williams, Sulphur, and Fred Williams, Harlingen, Texas; and a grandson.
Clagg Funeral Home will direct services.

Lou Brown
ALVA -- Services for former Ardmore resident Lou Brown will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alva College Church of Christ. Interment will be at Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown died Oct. 29, 1997, in Alva. She was born Jan. 25, 1905, near Healdton, Indian Territory.
She attended school at Joiner and Zaneis and married Charles Warren Brown May 14, 1924, at Wilson. He preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1971. Mrs. Brown lived in Ardmore before moving to Alva in 1967.
Survivors include a daughter, Beth Barta, Kermit, Texas; two sons, Charles Jr., Abilene, Texas, and Dudley, Alva; three sisters, Isola Griffin, Wilson, Estella Claxton, Healdton, and Millie Hannah, Ardmore; two brothers, J.B. Cudd, Ardmore, and Clarence Cudd, Edmond; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Percy Eugene Neely
Services for SP6 Percy Eugene Neely, United States Army retired, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Victor Richardson, U.S. Army captain, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery, east of Tishomingo.
Born Sept. 17, 1928, at Tishomingo to Osie O. Beulah Mae Tallon Neely, he died Oct. 31, 1997, in an Oklahoma City hospital following a brief illness.
A 1946 graduate of Ardmore High School, Neely began his military career in 1949 with a four-year enlistment in the United States Air Force, followed by 16 years of service in the U.S. Army He served in both the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medial with 60 Device and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired from active duty in 1977 and returned to Ardmore. Neely was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars
Survivors include three brothers, Everette, James P. and Leslie A., all Ardmore; five sisters, Lucille Birdwell and Joy Elliott, Ardmore, Evelyn Thomas, Tishomingo, Jessie Hobe, Euclid, Ohio, and Edith Boren, Mentone, Calif.

Bess M. Howard Lyons
LONE GROVE -- Services for Bess M. Howard Lyons will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lone Grove First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Gillum officiating. Interment will follow at Lone Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Lyons died Oct. 31, 1997, in an Oklahoma City hospital following an extended illness. She was born March 12, 1911, at Reck to William M. and Hester Black Howard.
She and Ode L. Lyons were married Jan. 8, 1931. Her husband preceded her in death March 22, 1984. She was also preceded by a son, L.J., in 1937; three sisters; and three brothers.
Mrs. Lyons had lived in Lone Grove more than 60 years.
Survivors include a son, Bill, Lone Grove; two daughters, Kathryn Hughes, Lone Grove, and Oita Byrne, Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as bearers.
Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Ila Ruth Tweedy Davis
TISHOMINGO -- Graveside services for Ila Ruth Tweedy Davis, 55, Milburn, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ravia Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Newville officiating.
Born Nov. 4, 1941, at Ravia to Curtis E. and Nettie M. Barrett Tweedy, she died Oct. 30, 1997, at Sherman, Texas.
Mrs. Davis was a resident of Johnston County most of her life. She married Joe Frank Davis on April 6, 1962, at Tishomingo. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Regina A. Davis and Ila K. Davis, both of the home; her mother, Tishomingo; two brothers, Charles Tweedy and Wayne Tweedy, both Tishomingo; three sisters, Elizabeth Segura, Oklahoma City; Glenna West and Catherine Sillers, both Tishomingo; and two grandchildren.
Honorary bearers are Arnold Isenberg, Jackie Hamilton, Ken Jones and Reggie Easterling.
Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.

Hester J. Meek
Services for Hester J. Meek will be 11 a.m. Monday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born Jan. 25, 1917, at Springer to Albert and Sarah Stillwell, she died Nov. 1, 1997, in the local hospital. She married R. J. Meek on Oct. 14, 1948, at Sturgis, S.D. He preceded her in death in February 1997.
Mrs. Meek lived in the Ardmore area all of her life. She was a retired ward clerk of the Seventh-day Adventist Hospital and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Cail, Dallas, Robert J. Meek, Ardmore, Steve Meek, Ephrain, Utah, and David Meek, Norman; one brother, Andrew B. Stillwell, Davis; one sister, Allie M. Sikes, Ardmore; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren;.
Bearers are Murl Crossley, Tom Geurin, Walter McAnally, Mike McCumber, Lois Meek and Jack Parker.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 603, Ardmore, OK 73402; First Baptist Church Building Fund, 225 1st Ave. SW, Ardmore, OK 73401; or the charity of choice.

Maxine Ramsey
Services for Maxine Ramsey will be 2 p.m. today at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Clint Chamberlain officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Cemetery.
Mrs. Ramsey died Oct. 31, 1997, in the local hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1919, at Woolsey to Elijah L. and Vera Alice Morris. She married John S. Ramsey in 1960 at Alamagordo. N.M. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Ramsey had lived in Ardmore since 1978, coming from Okemah. She was a member of Okemah First Baptist Church and a member of the Rebekahs.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Taylor, Ardmore, and Ronnie Taylor, Ruiddoso, N.M.; her daughters, Peggy Smith, Skidmore, Texas, and Sharon Chamberlain, Yukon; two brothers, Elmer Morris, Ardmore, and Emmitt Morris, Ringling; one sister, Lorene Blackburn, Waurika; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as bearers.

Douglas Cunningham
SIMON -- Graveside rites for Douglas Cunningham, 53, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Simon Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Gillum officiating.
Born May 3, 1944, at Healdton, he died Oct. 30, 1997, at an Ardmore hospital after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by a son, Shane Cunningham, on May 20, 1996.
Cunningham had lived in Wilson all of his life. He had worked in the oil fields.
Survivors include one son, Donald, Wilson; four sisters, Joann Gage, Ardmore, Pearlie Buss, Hobbs, N.M., Evelyn Morris, Fox, and Mildred Hopper, Irving, Texas; one brother, Joe, Enos; and two grandchildren.
Honorary bearers will be Quinton Nipp, Andy Nipp, Ron D. Cunningham, Dale Vernon, Conver Nipp and Davis Vernon.
Services are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
