Mildred Lee Parkhill Green Dry
MANNSVILLE -- Services for Mildred Lee Parkhill Green Dry, 74, Mannsville will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mannsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken McCarthick officiating. Interment will follow at Mannsville Cemetery.
Born April 4, 1923, at Wilson to Harvey B. and Martha A. Wilson Parkhill, she died Oct. 30, 1997, at Poteau. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lester Green and H.E. Dry; seven brothers; seven sisters; and a grandson.
Mrs. Dry was a lifelong resident of Mannsville. She was a homemaker and a retiree of the Madill Manufacturing Company. For many years she volunteered at the Mannsville Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Webb, Monroe; and two sons, Tommy Allen Green and Jerry Lee Green, both Mannsville; one brother, Lynn Parkhill, Oklahoma City; one sister, Irene Payne, Pacifica Calif.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Bearers are James Green, Troyce Green, Calvin Monroe, Bill Monroe, Lewis Ray Parkhill and Richard Parkhill.
Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.

Osmond L. 'Doc' Martin
Graveside rites for Osmond L. "Doc" Martin, 84, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bob Smee officiating.
Born March 27, 1913, in Tennessee to Sam and Martha J. Hill Martin, he died Oct. 30, 1997, after a brief illness. Martin married Florence "Robin" Hicks on Oct. 20, 1966, at Las Vegas. She preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 1991. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Klimack.
He moved to Ardmore in 1975 from El Paso, Texas. He was a retired engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Martin was a member of Northeast Church of Christ.
Survivors include two brothers, Elbert, California, and Clifford, Albuquerque, N.M.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Lela Ferris
PONTOTOC -- Services for Lela Ferris, 96, Tishomingo, will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Pontotoc Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Connerville Cemetery.
Born Feb. 7, 1901, at Indian Territory to Frank and Lucy Reed McCartney, she died Oct. 31, 1997, at Tishomingo. She married Ples Ferris on Sept. 4, 1920, at McAlester. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Joe Frank Ferris; one daughter, Ada Lou Ferris Askew; and two grandsons.
Mrs. Ferris was a resident of Tishomingo most of her life. She taught a sewing class at the Pontotoc and Connerville schools. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one son, Ward T., Connerville; and one sister, Beartice Ray, Clarita; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Wanda J. Stewart
LEON -- Graveside services for Wanda J. Stewart, 69, Mesquite, Texas, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Leon Cemetery.
Born Feb. 28, 1928, at Ravia to Ellis and Edith P. Whittington Washington, she died Oct. 31, 1997, at a Dallas hospital.
She married Travis Stewart on Dec. 24, 1957, at Dallas. She had lived in Mesquite for the past 23 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Larry Elles, Mineola, Texas, and Tommy L. Stewart, of the home; one brother, Herman D. Washington, Balch Springs, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.

Clyde Ulysses Harris
RATLIFF CITY -- Funeral services for Clyde Ulysses Harris, Pruitt City, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating. Interment will be at Graham Cemetery under the direction of Milburn Funeral Home.
Harris died Nov. 2, 1997, in Ardmore. He was born March 2, 1911, at Alma, to Neely and Belle Harris.
A lifelong resident of this area, he married Evelyne Briscoe on Dec. 6, 1963, and was a retired oil field worker. He was preceded in death his wife; his mother and father; and three brothers.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Joann Butler, and her husband, Pal, of Ratliff City; a stepson, Jerry Briscoe, and his wife, Betty, of Lindsey; and a niece, Jeannie Brittenham of Oklahoma City.
Bearers will be Richard, Robert, Randy and Roger Butler, Clay Briscoe and Coby Butler. Honorary bearers are Emmitt Roach, Lester Hanson, Delbert Burton and Bill Bloodworth.

Mildred Green Dry
MANNSVILLE -- Services for Mildred Lee Parkhill Green Dry, 74, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Mannsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken McCarthick officiating. Interment was at Mannsville Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dry died Oct. 30, 1997, in Poteau after a short illness. She was born April 23, 1923, at Wilson, to Harvey B. and Martha Wilson Parkhill.
A lifelong resident of Mannsville, she retired from Madill Manufacturing Co. and was a volunteer at the Mannsville Senior Citizens Center. She was the widow of Lester Green and H.E. Dry.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Sue Webb, Monroe; two sons, Tommy Green and Jerry Green, Mannsville; a brother, Lynn Parkhill, Oklahoma City; a sister, Irene Payne, Pacifica, Calif.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Bill and Calvin Monroe, Troyce and James Green, and Lewis and Richard Parkhill.

Elmer L. Turner
GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Services for Elmer Lee Turner, 81, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Turner died Nov. 1, 1997, in a Dallas hospital. He was born March 2, 1916, at Whitesboro, Texas, to Marion and Abbie Lucius Turner.
He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Wayne, Ardmore, and Weldon, Gainesville; two daughters, Wanda Yeager, Waco, Texas, and Gale Fielder, Farmers Branch, Texas; a brother, J.L., Whitesboro, Texas; seven sisters, Janie Tamplain, El Cajon, Calif., Audry Fielder and Carrie Mann, Whitesboro, Jean Sines, Keizer, Ore., Goldie Lee, Mountain Home, Ark., Hazle Blount and Pearl Williams, Gainesville; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

E.L. Stacy
Graveside rites for E.L. Stacy, 87, were at 10:30 a.m. today at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating.
Stacy was born Feb. 26, 1910, in Ardmore to Zachariah and Helen Hinds Stacy. He died Nov. 2, 1997, in Alamogordo, N.M.
An Army veteran of World War II, he received the European, African, Middle Eastern Theater Medal with two battle stars for participation in the Rome-Arno and North Appenines Campaign. He had lived in Alamogordo since 1967 and worked as an electrical engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Rose, of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth Vincill, Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Helen Leedy, Duncan; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Vernon and Charles; and a sister, Maudie Redfield.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home directed services.

Elbert A. McNeely
PAWNEE -- Services for Ardmore native Elbert Archie McNeely will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Poteet Funeral Chapel in Pawnee. Interment will follow at Province Cemetery in Ardmore.
McNeely, 75, died Nov. 4, 1997, in Tulsa. He was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Ardmore to Elbert T. and Nelda A. Elledge McNeely.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a plant foreman for Halliburton before he retired. He and Betty Reeves were married in 1985 at Pawnee.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; eight children, Carlos Reichman, Montana, Cynthia Mueller, Illinois, Elbert McNeely, Piedmont, Carrie Goins, Missouri, Janie McNeely, Richard McNeely, Michael McNeely and Karen Pieropan, New Orleans; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lonie Brown
Graveside rites for Lonie Brown, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Provence Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Johnston officiating.
Mrs. Johnston died Nov. 5, 1997, in the local hospital after an extended illness. She was born April 6, 1913, at Milburn to Delbert and Hattie Maxwell Shockley.
A lifelong resident of Ardmore, she was a waitress for more than 33 years then worked more than eight years for Stromberg Carlson before she retired. She was the widow of Floyd Brown, who died in 1971.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Westergaard, Norman, and Dovie Furrh, Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Rocky Shockley, Ardmore; a brother, L.B. "Satch" Shockley; and a sister, Violet Baldwin, both of Ardmore; three stepdaughters, Esther Kuhlman, Pueblo, Colo., Dorothy Collier, Stillwater, and Janice L. Vieski, California; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.

Newell B. Farmer
RINGLING -- Services for Newell B. Farmer, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Haynie officiating. Interment will be at Grady Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Farmer was born June 28, 1911, at Grady, to Earl F. and Lucy E. Craze Farmer. He died in Henrietta, Texas.
The lifelong Grady resident was a framer and rancher. He and Inez O. Berry were married Dec. 25, 1936, at Cornish.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Larry, Grady; and two sisters, Modean Connell and Ivajean "Bill" Lyons, Dallas.
Bearers will be Jack Tipton, Don Dennis, Don Allen, P. John Wright, Dan Ryn and Randy Howard.

Maudie Brown Nickholes
MILO -- Services for Maudie Brown Nickholes will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jehovah Baptist Church with the Rev. W.J. Wallace officiating. Interment will be at Jehovah Cemetery.
Ms. Nickholes died Nov. 4, 1997, in Oklahoma City.
Among her survivors are four sisters, three brothers, two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be today through Friday at Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary.

Robert L. Williams
MADILL -- Services for Robert Lewis Williams, 80, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Watts Memorial Chapel with Randol Dunn officiating. Interment was at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Williams died Nov. 3, 1997, in the Denison, Texas, hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1916, at Kingston.
A lifelong resident of Madill, he graduated from high school here in 1934 and served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed by Union Oil Co. 37 years before he retired. He was a member of Jehovah Witness Church. He and Doris Loretta Qualls were married Sept. 1, 1937, at Marietta. She preceded him in death Dec. 13, 1977.
Survivors include two sons, Robert B., Oklahoma City, and Roger P., Madill; a daughter, Nancy Lu Chatterson, Tulsa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bearers were Dale Benefield, Alvin Newcomb, Dan Little, David Qualls, Sam Goodwin and T. L. Qualls. Honorary bearers were Dan Hazlett and Vernon Ard.

Dewey Lowe
GORE -- Graveside rites for Dewey Lowe, a longtime Ardmore resident, were at 3 p.m. today at Gore Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Home.
Lowe died Nov. 5, 1997. He was born June 8, 1916, at Gore to Robert L. and Mollie Lowe.
He is survived by a nephew, Jerry Watson of Sand Springs.
