Gertha Willard
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Gertha Willard, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Roy Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Condon Grove Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Born June 23, 1908, at Wilson, to John and Alice J. Collins Lamb, she died Jan. 7, 1999, in the local hospital.
She had been a resident of Tishomingo since 1945, moving here from the Butcher Pen area. She retired from the grocery business and was a member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and a sister.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Douglas A. Drain
TALOGA -- Services for Douglas A. Drain will be at noon Sunday in the high school auditorium in Taloga. Interment will follow at Oil Springs Cemetery in Tatums.
Drain died Jan. 5, 1999, in Oklahoma City. He was born April 25, 1945, at Tatums.
Reared in Tatums, he received his degree from Langston University and served in the Army. He was employed by the federal government until he retired. He was a Baptist, a member of Masonic Lodge, O.N.A. and A.N.A.
Survivors include his wife, Gussie, of the home; two daughters, Donnita, Oklahoma City, Marie, Taloga; a son, Douglas II, Sherman, Texas; his parents, Sim and Ruth Drain, Tatums; three brothers, Sim, Stillwater, Charles, Boston, Texas, and Alphonso, Gaitersburg, Md.
Memorials may be made to Langston University Lady Lions basketball team at Langston, Okla. 73050.
Visitation will be at Shaw Funeral Home in Taloga from noon until 7 p.m. Saturday.

Marie Lydolph
Services for Marie Lydolph, 72, Lone Grove, are pending with Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 23, 1926, at Camay, Texas, to B.M. and Elsie Ann Charlston Carnathan, she died Jan. 9, 1999, following an extended illness.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest, of the home; three sons, John Potter, Antlers, Hollis Potter, Lone Grove, and Charles Lydolph, Tishomingo; four daughters, Ann Metcalf, Hatfield, Ark., Delores Jeans, Ardmore, Linda Scholl, Monet, Mo., and Patsey Potter, Lone Grove; one sister, Louise Bruce, Broken Bow; one brother, Ben Carnathan, Broken Bow; one stepson; one stepdaughter; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Williams
Services for Evelyn Williams, 85, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born Sept. 11, 1913, at Ardmore to Walter T. and Josephine Maude Russell WIlliams, she died Jan. 7, 1999, at a local nursing facility following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
A resident of Ardmore all of her life, she graduated from Ardmore High School in 1931, then attended Oklahoma A&M. She worked for the Department of Human Services as a clerk until her retirement.
Survivors include a cousin, niece, nephew and sister-in-law.

Syble Holland
Graveside rites for Syble Holland, 98, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy May officiating.
Born May 28, 1900, at Orr to James and Mary Elizabeth Porter, she died Jan. 9, 1999, at a local health care facility. She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Holland had worked as a morning supervisor at Long Beach Hospital in Long Beach, Calif. She lived most of her life in Ardmore and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church at Healdton.
Survivors include one son, Cole, Healdton; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.

Joe L.A. Lee
TATUMS -- Services for Joe Louis Alvin Lee, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Tatums with the Rev. F.M. Lawson officiating. Interment will be at Tatums Cemetery under the direction of Jefferson Funeral Home.
Lee died Jan. 3, 1999, in Lawton following a brief illness.
He moved from Tatums to Lawton in the 1960s.
Survivors include his wife, Frances, of the home; two sons, Jeffery K., Lawton, and Robert E., Washington, D.C.; a stepson, Darryl "Vicki," Oklahoma City; a brother, Theodore R., Oklahoma City; five sisters, Q.Z. "Dan" Taylor, Temple, Texas, Wanda "Arnell" Dean, Oklahoma City, Violet Lee, Sylvia Gordon and Patricia Williams, Lawton; and several grandchildren.

Billie J. Johnston
COMMERCE -- Services for Billie J. Johnson, 64, were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at the First Baptist Church in Commerce with the Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial was at GAR Cemetery in Miami, Okla., under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnston left this life to live with the Lord at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2, 1999, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo., with her five children and two of her grandchildren at her side.
She was born to William P. and Fay Neal Stogsdill on May 21, 1934, in Miami. She married Billy L. "Bill" Johnston on April 6, 1951, at Bentonville, Ark.
She had been employed as a laboratory technician in the E.O.M. Division of Eagle-Picher Industries for the past 21 years. Known by her family and friends as a quiet yet strong-willed individual with a quick wit and keen sense of humor, her life revolved around her family. By example, she taught others not only how to live, but also how to die with grace and dignity, never once complaining during her 14-month battle with cancer, but keeping her love and concern for others and her sense of humor to the end. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, "until we meet again."
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Dan Johnston, Marietta; four daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Reid Schnorrenberg, Marietta, Terri and Darrell Mink, Ardmore, Brenda and Rod Fields, Tiff City, Mo., and Kim and Reggie Hembree, Carterville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Robin Bean, Marietta, Brook Mink and Rachel Schnorrenberg, Norman, Brecklyn Phillips, Ardmore, Ashlee and Cody Johnston, Arlington, Texas, Kyle and Kade Fields, Tiff City, and Kaitlyn and Noah Hembree, Carterville; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Zane Phillips, Ardmore.

Leslie P. 'Keck' Tilley
HEALDTON -- Services for Leslie P. "Keck" Tilley, 87, Fox, will be 2 pm. Monday at Reser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Alma Cemetery.
Born April 13, 1911, at Zion, Ala., to George W. and Hass Koon Tilley, he died Jan. 9, 1999, at an Ardmore hospital after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Eulie, Woodrow, Olen, and James A.; and one sister, Gladys Rhodes.
Tilley was reared in Alabama. He married Mary Louise Holman on April 28, 1935, at Columbus, Miss. Tilley moved to Oklahoma in 1937, returning to Alabama in 1941 and moving back to the Velma-Alma area in 1949. He lived in the area the rest of his life. He was a painter for Brown and Root Construction, retiring in 1976. Tilley was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Don, Enid; one daughter, Sylvia Nelson, Fox; one sister, Ernestine Teer, Northport, Ala.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Grandsons-in-law and great-grandsons will be bearers.

Rev. Dr. Don A. Wells
Memorial services for the Rev. Dr. Don Allen Wells, 57, Ionia, Mich., will be at 3 p.m. today in Noble Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Ardmore with the Rev. Rick Mills officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Wells, who died Jan. 6, 1999, was born June 1, 1941, in Ardmore.
He attended the University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, Ark., and graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1963. He was awarded a Master of Divinity degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary in 1966 and a Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1984.
He had served Presbyterian churches in California, Scotland, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois and Cincinnati, Ohio. At the time of his death, he pastored the Lyons-Muir Federated and Easton United Methodists churches in the Ionia area.
Wells approached life with energy and a sense of humor, and enjoyed extensive travel with his family. In his ministry, he encouraged and modeled a life of personal wholeness, the development of personal God-given talents, and shared community life.
He is survived by his wife, the Rev. Marilyn "Casey" Wells; sons, David Wells, and his friend Jane Zawadowksi, of Chicago, and Kevin Kyle Dreyfuss Wells of Cleveland; his parents, Ken and Martha Harmon Wells of Ardmore; a sister, Kathy Alex De La Rose; niece, Kenna Trevor Guidry; and nephew, Robin Pace, also Ardmore; and friends across the nation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the ministry of choice of the the Bostwick Fund to support seminary scholarships, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 223 Broadway, Ardmore 73401.

Cynthia Elaine Houchin
Services for Cynthia Elaine Houchin, 49, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Custar officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born Aug. 20, 1949, at Ardmore, she died Jan. 8, 1999, at a Dallas hospital.
She married James Houchin on July 2, 1966, at Ardmore. Mrs. Houchin lived in Ardmore all her life. She was active in local and state Democratic affairs.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; sons, Shannon, Lone Grove, Jeffery, Gainesville, Texas, and John Bradley, Hubert, N.C.; brothers, Charles Fitzgerald, North Carolina, Toby Burkhart, Dickson, Jim Savage, Oklahoma City, Ronnie Savage, Marietta, and Larry Savage, Graham; sisters, Martha Fitzgerald, of the home; Laura Gordon and Donna Beth Hammer, both Riverton, Wyo., Peggy Denney, Marietta, and Frances Jones, Wichita, Kan.; and seven grandchildren.
Bearers are Ronnie, Jim and Larry Savage, Darryl Roberts, Daniel Gardner and Marlin Stewart.

Services for Velma Jackson are pending with the Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Funeral Home.

Serrena Campbell
Services for Serrena Campbell, former Ardmore resident, are pending with the Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Funeral Home.

Walter M. Ash
DURANT -- Services for Walter M. Ash will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terrell Suggs officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Born Oct. 6, 1911, at Silo, he died Jan. 8, 1999, at Durant. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Bill, Leonard and Leroy.
Ash was a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church. He retired after 23 years as an operator with Consolidated Rock Plant in Orange, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hilburn Ash; one son, Dan, Rockwall, Texas; two daughters, Pat Thacker, Denison, Texas, and Mary Ducote, Mead; one brother, Milton, Madill; one sister, Lena Mayberry, Moab, Utah; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Paul Crawford, T.J. Crawford, Denise Bragg, Bill Trent, Wayne Trent and Jason Ash. Honorary bearers are Blake Ducote and Sandy Crawford.

Jimmy Don Miller
MILL CREEK -- Services for Jimmy Don Miller, 41, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Coffman officiating. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery.
Born Jan. 21, 1957, at Sulphur to William C. and Rachael A. Nunley Miller, he died Jan. 8, 1999, at Oklahoma City.
Miller had lived in the area all of his life. He was a general laborer. He married Velma Henington on March 23, 1978, at Gainesville, Texas. Miller was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Tammy Miller, Sulphur; two sons, Bryan, Sulphur, and William L.D., Mill Creek; eight brothers, Donnie and Allan, both Sulphur, Johnny, William H. and Leon, all Mill Creek, Charles E., McAlester, Paul E., Davis, and James, Pauls Valley; four sisters, Linda Williams, Sulphur, Janise Walker, Las Vegas, Mary Gallup, Mill Creek, and Lynette Villars, Indiana; and one grandchild.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

Mildred Clark Rutledge
Services for Mildred Bertha Clark Rutledge will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J. B. Lovelace officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Rutledge was born Oct. 19, 1918, at White Bead, to John and Ada Cochran Rutledge. She passed from this life on Jan. 10, 1999 in a local hospital.
She married Virgil Ray Rutledge in Berwyn on Sept. 20, 1937 and had lived in Ardmore her entire adult life. She was a retired cook for the Ardmore Public Schools and also cooked for other organizations such as Falls Creek and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Cheek Baptist Church, a member of Eastern Star over 50 years and Hallmark Extension over 45 years.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil, of the home; a daughter, Mildred, and her husband, Bill, of Lone Grove; three sons, Donal, and his wife, Lou of Muldrow, Okla., Jerry, and his wife, Sharon, of Ardmore, Michael and Wyonna of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two sisters, Bonnie Clark Bogle of Lone Grove, and Palma Clark Jordan of Ardmore; two brothers, Wimble Clark of Soper, and Joe Kenneth Clark of Oakwood, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Adam, Nathan and Ryan Rutledge, Harold and Charles Newman and Larry Conway.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., this evening at the funeral home.
